Wolfie: I do not own anything related to Night at the Museum. Now I know that the last chapter had next to nothing about my my oc in it. That is because I don't want this book to be just about them, they will get select special moments for now. Just like how Ahkmenrah only ever gets seen or mentioned a few times in the movie. This one also doesn't really have anything with my oc in it except for that little first person point of view at the bottom as for now I am just following along with the story line of the movie. Now eventually I will have some chapter's that are just purely improvised but for now please just bear with me on this. As always please read and review this story.

Chapter 3: First night part 2
As Larry ran into yet another room he came to a screeching halt when he saw all of the animals in the hall of African mammals were also alive and were starting to walk around. It seemed that just not the animals were waking up and were realizing that their exhibit was not locked up for the night as some of the animals began to close in on the human when they saw him. He would've left if it weren't for the fact that the Woolly Mammoth that he saw from before was blocking his exit and would've gotten very grabby with his or her trunk if he hadn't slid the door gate shut. Though he dropped his paperwork in the process as he just barely managed to lock the gate before he noticed that he was beginning to close in on him as he also noticed the lions. Larry tried to explain to them that he was the new night guard but either they didn't understand him or just didn't care enough to listen as he noticed his only escape route. Quickly snatching up the paper work from infront of the elephant he ran through the jungle parts of the exhibit, coming face to face with a snake at one point in time and had a monkey use him as a step ladder. Barely being able to make it out of the exhibit he slammed the gate shut, holding it shut as the male lion lunged at the gate trying to attack him and when he grabbed the key chain he noticed there were no keys on it. Sill holding the gate closed as the lion finally gave up attacking and walked away as Larry looked around and noticed his instructions were on the floor, fumbling slightly as he managed to use his foot to pull them closer.
"Double check your belt. The monkey probably stole your keys." Larry said after he picked up the instructions and read the third instruction as he frowned. "Monkey?" He asked in confusion before hearing the chittering of a monkey from up above him, looking up to see a little monkey at the top of the gate, holding out his keys in his free paw. "Hey! Hey, there. Hi, what's your name? Your name's..." Larry said as he trailed off trying to remember what Cecil said was the little monkey's name before noticing the little monkey was about to leave. "No, no, no. Come back. Come back. Dewey? Is that your name? Dewey?" He asked as the little monkey shook his head no in response to the name Dewey as that was not what he is called. "No, no, no, what's...? Dewey. Dexter. Dexter. Dexter. Right? Hey, Dexter. you wanna give me those keys? I just wanna lock up." Larry said as he was holding out his hand to hopefully receive his keys as he was sort of baby talking to the monkey.
Dexter slowly began to climb down the gate as Larry continued to baby talk to him as he got down to where the human was as he went to give him the keys but then would pull them back a few times. When he did give the key's back it was only so he could bite the new night guard on the nose thanks to the fact that he had to get his face much closer to the gate to take the keys on. The little monkey had clamped down on that nose and didn't seem to be letting go as Larry had to use his feet to push off on the closed gate before his now throbbing nose was released. Though he didn't expect that as he stumbled backwards and landed on his back, his instructions abandoned on the floor yet again as he held his nose in one hand and his keys in the other. Dexter soon ran off into a nearby tree, chittering and screeching in a laughing sort of way as Larry was now locking the gate after picking up his instructions again. However much to his shock and disgust the cheeky little monkey was peeing on him from the tree that was closest to the gate as the shocked and disgusted night guard backed up.
"Eww! Oh, yuck! Bad monkey! Stop that! Eww, that's not right." Larry said as he was trying to scold Dexter but the little monkey simply kept doing what he was doing as he stuck his tongue out at Larry. "Are you done? Huh? Do you have an issue with me? Huh? Do you have an issue with me? 'Cause, if I... if I have a problem with somebody, I don't pee on them, OK? All right?" He said before walking closer, making the stupid mistake to lip his hand that held the instructions through the bars of the gate to point. "And also... Let me tell you something. These keys.." Larry said only to have Dexter swing by and snatch up the papers, leaving behind only a piece that got ripped off in Larry's hand as Dexter had the rest. "Hey, Dexter, that's not funny! Give it back." He said as he was now trying to get the little monkey to listen to him as he was supposed to be in charge, right?
Dexter however was not listening as he was just sort of messing around with the directions by flipping them around and stuff like that as his monkey friends egged him on. They wanted him to do something that would piss Larry off as aid man was still lecturing the monkey and was also trying to get him to still give back the instructions since he needs them. Though Dexter, being the little trouble maker he is, began to just rip apart the instructions all while his monkey friends where clapping and cheering him on. Now Larry would've gone in to collect the ripped up pieces of the instructions if it weren't for the fact that the lions looked really really hungry as he simply retrieved his eyes, going to sit on a bench. He really just wanted to have a moment to just relax but he couldn't even get that sitting on the bench as he soon felt what seemed like a dart puncture his cheek as he pulled it out. He saw that it was a tiny blow dart from a tiny blow dart gun as he saw the source of the dart, little men from the Mayan exhibit that were no taller than a pinkie finger. As he looked at the five little Mayan's one that was at the front shot him with another blow dart as this one landed in his lip as he gingerly pulled it out but this one was harder to pull out.
"What are you guys doing?" Larry mumbled as he noticed that his speech was coming out differently than it had been before his lip got shot with a dart. "I can't feel my lip." He said as he noticed that whatever that dart had been coated with had made his lip go numb. "Oh, shit." He said as he noticed that all five Mayan's were getting ready to fire as he used his palm as a shield, bad idea on his part. "Oh! Aah! Aah! Aah! Man!" Larry yelled slightly as he got up from the bench and backed up out of firing range, pulling the darts out of his hand.
Attempting to shake off the pain in his hand Larry also spluttered for a moment to try and get some feeling back into his lip as he heard an old timey Western song coming from nearby. Walking closer he saw it came from the Wild West diorama as he saw little cowboys on horses towards the bottom and people towards the top were singing and dancing at a camp site. Hearing the sound of whips cracking made him look down though and begin to turn around as he saw more of those little Mayan guys tying up his ankles with green vines. Turning around was a mistake as they pushed up on his feet causing Larry to teeter back on his heals before landing on his back in the Wild West diorama with his head on the tracks. The fall wasn't necessarily painful but that didn't mean he actually wanted to be made to fall down into a diorama of little people who have been working on building a rail road.
"Yee-haw!" A blonde cowboy exclaimed which caused Larry to look the right, which is his left actually, and saw said cowboy atop a Calypso horse that was brown and white. "Hog-tie him, boys! Get him!" He shouted after turning around to his fellow cowboys who were riding towards them whilst swinging their lassos and cheering. "That big old bocephus of a man! Cinch him up real good! You ain't so big now, are you, boy?" The cowboy asked as people on the other side of Larry helped secure the ropes when they were tossed over him as he was soon tied to the floor of the exhibit.
"What are you doing? Hey. Hey. Stop that." Larry said as he was trying to get the attention of the workers as they finished up restraining him but it didn't work, turning his head towards an official looking man who cleared his throat.
"Every night, year after year, one of you guards locks us up in these boxes. Well, I hereby say sir... enough!" The official looking man said as everyone in the diorama cheered in agreement with him whilst pumping their fists in the air.
"Fire up the iron horse, boys." The blonde cowboy said as he was looking at the train tunnel that the tracks that Larry's head was on came out from.
"Here she comes!" A random man said as they all began to quickly back away from the tracks as Larry turns his head to look at the tunnel for a second.
"Hey, blondie." Larry said to get the blond cowboy's attention as he looked back at him.
"Name's Jedediah." Jedediah said as he didn't take kindly to being called blondie.
"All right, Jedediah, stop the train, please." Larry said as he hoped to maybe appeal to Jedediah's more merciful side.
"It's a big no-can-do, crackerjack." Jedediah said as he was clearly not about to stop the train just because he was ordered to do so.
"What's going on here, huh?" Larry asked as he didn't quite understand why he was tied down with his head on toy train tracks.
"Somebody's got to pay." Jedediah said though that reply was extremely vague and had no logical reasoning behind it.
"Pay for what?" Larry asked seeing as there had to be some kind of reason to warrant this type of situation he was in right now.
"I don't know! Just pay. Now stop whining and just take it like a man!" Jedediah said as he was getting extremely frustrated with all of the so called whining that Larry has been doing. Said male glanced at the train that was out of the tunnel and was getting closer and closer to running into him the more he laid there talking.
"Seriously, stop the train." Larry said as he really didn't feel like getting hit in the head with what was clearly just a toy train made to look like the real thing.
"All right, stop the train!" Jedediah called out as he seemed to finally give in to Larry's pleads to have him do so.
"Thank you." Larry said as he was extremely glad that Jedediah had finally listened to reason.
"...Now full speed ahead and ram him! Split his heat like a watermelon!" Jedediah said as he had just tricked Larry into a false sense of security to get him to shut up as said male looks at the train.
"Ooh! Ow." Larry said as the front of the train jabbed him in the face before just falling on its side harmlessly.
"For crying out loud." Jedediah said feeling extremely disappointed at the fact that Larry's head didn't split like a watermelon, his fellow Wild West people feeling just as disappointed as him.
"Alright, that's enough." Larry said as he started to break free from the ropes that were holding him down.
"We've got a breach!" A man with a mustache shouted as he held his bowler hat down on his as he started to run away.
"The giant is escaping!" A Asian man shouted in his native tongue as he started to run away as well.
As Larry sat up pulling off what remains of the broken ropes from his uniform he noticed one of the little cowboys clinging to his jacket and had most likely grabbed on before he sat up. The man was shouting that he got him but seeing as the regular sized man had had enough of all of this he reached up towards the man clinging to his shoulder and not so nicely flicked him away. Though now that he was sitting up he noticed that on the floor was all of the soldiers from the nearby Roman diorama as they looked ready to start a fight and then finish it. The army may not have been the same size as Larry, but their number's were big enough to corner Larry in the Wild West display as they had formed a half circle to do so. At the front of the army stood a man who was obviously a general as his toga/tunic was a brighter red color, his armor was more ornate and was more of a bronze-grey color with a red mo-hawk type thing atop his helmet.
"Prepare the catapults." The Roman general said to his men as he looked up at Larry, holding up a hand that meant for his men to wait for his signal to fire.
"Whoa, Octavius, hold on. This ain't your fight. This here giant's on our land!" Jedediah said to Octavius whilst pointing a finger towards Larry.
"Hey, hey, hey, little guy. Jed. Yeah. Sorry, look. I just, I'm not a giant, OK? I'm just an average sized-" Larry said as Jedediah looked up at him from his spot next to him at the edge of the diorama.
"Don't talk down to me." Jedediah said as he really was not a fan of things that may offend him or make fun of his height.
"I'm not a giant, guys. All right? You guys are really little." Larry said trying his best to explain the situation to them all.
"We may be small, but our hearts are large! Metaphorically speaking." Octavius said whilst making a few hand gestures as he continued to stare up at Larry alongside his men.
"Don't take that the wrong way. I'm just saying you're miniatures." Larry said since he really wasn't trying to be mean, it just sort of came out that way.
"Silence! The Roman Empire knows no boundaries!" Octavius bellowed as he pointed at Larry and behind him a officer in his army told the mean to be steady.
"Don't you do it, son!" Jedediah said in warning towards Octavius as said male was clearly not listening.
"Do what?" Larry asked Jedediah seeing as he didn't know what was about to happen, the same officer from before giving another order to be steady.
"Octavius!" Jedediah said in warning yet again as he was ignoring Larry at the moment.
"Don't do what?" Larry asked as he looked down and noticed that the now neutral army of Roman's was getting ready to fire at him.
"Unleash hell!" Octavius shouted his order with his sword raised towards the sky.
"D'oh!" Jedediah exclaimed as he went to get out of the line of fire.
At that command an onslaught of flaming arrows and fire balls were launched at Larry, hitting the unsuspecting night guard as the people of the Wild West diorama scatter as to not be hit. As the arrows and fire balls were launched at him he was barely able to get up without tripping over his feet as he tried to run away from the attacking miniature Roman's. However despite the fact that he was clearly retreating that did not satisfy Octavius or his army as they kept firing at him as they quickly turned in the new direction he was in. Now the flames all together may not be life threatening and sooner or later they would run out of ammunition but Larry really didn't have the time to sit around and wait till that happens. So as he stood there trying to figure out what to do whilst blocking some of the attacks with his hands and arms he saw a leather gloved hand appear in his peripheral vision.
"Climb aboard, boy." A voice said which caused Larry to turn to the owner of the hand, seeing that it was none other than Teddy Roosevelt atop his horse Texas. "Take the hand, son." Teddy instructed with a smile as he then helped the night guard up onto the back of his horse when his hand was grasped. "On board." He said as he continued to smile, urging Texas into a gallop as his trusty steed ran away from the attacking miniatures.
"That's right. You'd better run, boy! You hear Jedediah? That mustachioed horseman ain't always gonna be there to protect you, you hear me?" Jedediah yelled after Larry and Teddy as they retreated to the reception/T-Rex exhibit part of the museum.
Jedediah's yelling had fallen on deaf ears as the two rider's that Texas was carrying were more concerned with getting away from the attacking Roman's rather than listening to a shouting cowboy. It was a bit awkward for the horse to come down the stairs whilst carrying two people, the diorama room having been on the second floor, but it was doable as he stopped when his owner told him to. Once Texas had come to a full stop infront of the receptionist desk Larry quickly climbed off as he looked up at the Teddy Roosevelt that he knew used to be a wax mannequin a few hours ago. However, and he didn't want to sound weird about this, but the man and horse infront of him both looked and felt very much alive so maybe right now they weren't just exhibits. Maybe they were actually a living and breathing man and an equally living and breathing animal, same with Dexter and some of the other animal and human exhibits he had run into. Then again maybe he bumped his head when he fell out of the receptionist chair that he had fallen asleep in and this is all just a figment of his imagination that was triggered by hitting his head.
"Uh... uh, thank you." Larry said as he looked up at the man that was the president of the United States at one point in time.
"Not at all. Theodore Roosevelt. 26th president of these United States of America, at your service." Teddy said as he felt like he needed to introduce himself just incase Larry didn't know who he was as he shook Larry's hand.
"OK. Uh, I'm Larry Daley, the new night guard." Larry said as he might as well introduce himself again, he had honestly done that alot tonight.
"Ha ha!" Teddy laughed whole heartedly as he climbed off of Texas and was now standing infront of Larry. "Pleasure to meet you, Lawrence Daley." He said as he gave the night guard a friendly slap on the shoulder, turning to grab something from his saddle as the night guard lets out a silent ow as the hit had hurt. "You'll have to excuse me, though. The hunt is afoot." Teddy said as he cocked the gun that he had grabbed, readying it to fire as he walked away.
"Hunt's afoot." Larry repeated as he followed after Teddy, his pace quickening to catch up with the president when he saw the T-Rex, he's gonna call him Rexy, walking around with his bone in his mouth. "Um, OK. Excuse me, Mr. President, can I ask you something?" He asked as he was doing his best to keep up with the obviously speed walking wax mannequin.
"Yes, but just one question." Teddy said as he turned his head towards Larry for a second before he began to look forward once again as they walked into a hallway.
"All right, OK. Why? Is it like just some like three wishes kind of deal, or...?" Larry asked whilst trailing off as Teddy gave some sort of greeting in a native language to a exhibit that they were passing by. The occupants of the exhibit happily returned the greeting as they watched the president and night guard walk past them.
"Not at all. Self-reliance is the key to a vigorous life. A man must look inward to find his own answers." Teddy said before realizing that his answer wasn't all that helpful when he saw the dumbfounded look on Larry's face. "How can I be of help?" He asked since so far he seems to be the only exhibit actively trying to help the new night guard.
"All right, well, I... I don't really know how to put this, and please don't take it the wrong way, but isn't everything in this museum supposed to be, you know..." Larry said, trailing off as he really was trying to break this to the president as gently as possible in case he didn't know the truth.
"...dead?" They asked in unison as Teddy finally stopped walking which caused Larry to do the same.
"Yeah." Larry said with a small sigh as he hoped he hadn't pissed off the one person who has been helping him.
"Follow me." Teddy said as he motioned towards a set of stairs with his head, walking towards them as he knew Larry was following as he had instructed.
Unknown's POV
Every night, like clock work, I woke up trapped in my sarcophagus and like every night I yell and scream despite the fact that I have woken up like this every night since I arrived at the museum. Though also, once again just like clock work, I hear someone screaming just like I am and knew that it was my fellow Pharaoh, my conversation companion for the past 20 years. We always end up waking up a few minutes apart from each other, so when we heard each other our screams of desperation to be let out come to a halt as our conversation soon began. I still could not remember my name and I couldn't help but let out a laugh as Ahkmenrah soon began a game of trying to guess my name, listing off both Egyptian and American names he had heard of. The guesses never ended up being my name but it was still quite a fun game to say the least, and it passed quite a bit of time as the rest of the museum woke up around us. However we noticed one very important thing, the museum sounded much more loud and chaotic than it usually does by the time Ahkmenrah and myself wake up for the night. This sudden abundance of chaos made my thoughts travel to something the old night guards said, the thing about how they were fired and how there was a new night guard.
"Hehehe, seems the new guard is having a bit of trouble on his first night." I said with a small laugh and I could just barely hear Ahkmenrah laugh as well.
"Seems as if you are right." Ahkmenrah said and judging by his tone he seemed happy that things weren't going according to the old guards schedule.
"Ahkmenrah, what do you think this new guard is like?" I asked curiously, wanting to know my friends opinion about the new guard despite the fact that we have not met him.
"Well, my dear Pharaoh, I think he is not that good at following the old guards rules." Ahkmenrah said as that caused my to laugh slightly as I didn't know if he was serious or not.
"That's not what I meant Ahkmenrah." I said though I didn't get an answer, instead I soon heard my companion start to yell and bang against his sarcophagus causing me to flinch in shock. What was going on, was there someone in his exhibit and if there was then what were they doing that would cause my companion to start yelling once again?
