Hello! Satoru Taiyo here, welcome to my first Pokémon Mystery Dungeon fanfiction, I'll try my best. The protagonist becomes not only an Umbreon, but the beta version from the 1997 SpaceWorld demo of Pokémon Gold and Silver.

PS: Umbreon is a poison type in the beta, fun!

May 5th is the 1 year anniversary of me writing fanfics, yay! So that makes this chapter special!

Also, this story is taking a somewhat dark turn.. not sure if I should drop the comedy tag. It'll get better after this though.

Chapter III: One sad strange little Umbreon

"Hey…".

What? I opened my eyes to find myself in the front yard of my house, nothing had changed. Hopefully it was just a dream. My girlfriend was to my left.

"You ok there? You were sleeping for several hours".

Addie looked worried. She had those kind blue eyes, ones that showed trust. I sat up, my almost dead DS sliding off my lap.

"I.. I missed you so much babe!". I stood up, hugging her. "

Suddenly, I felt my body shift, and Addie suddenly looked much taller. I noticed an all too familiar snout in my field of vision. "No… god no!...".

"What the hell? What even are you? Where's Jack?". Addie questioned me, of course all that came out of my mouth was the digital sound of Umbreon's cry. I kept speaking, but the "brrr" was all that I said.

"Get away from me you monster!". I felt a slap whip across my face, Addison started to run down the street away from me.

"Brrr! Brrr!" I cried, chasing after her. Please, I'm not a monster… I…

Addie stopped, turning around. I didn't get to react as she suddenly pulled a pistol and fired at me. How did she get a gun? I never knew she had one..

I felt a sharp pain in my forehead, putting a paw to my head, I realized I was shot directly in my forehead, in my 0-face. Red got in my vision and I blinked.

"H..how are you still alive?!". My girlfriend threw her gun at me and continued running.

I honestly wanted to die at this point. "Brrr! Brrr! Brrr!". I sounded out my digital cry, tears and poison running down my face and body. I didn't want to be this… thing! I wanted to be with my love, and be a human again.

I suddenly realized something, I must be dreaming. Immediately after, I shot up, fully awake.

Maize was up against the wall, a freaked out look on her face, along with her nose scrunched up. I looked down, noticing I was drenched in the smelly thick liquid I now have the ability to secrete. My dark fur was almost purple. I also smelled ammonia from probably pissing myself.

Yeah, I'm done with this. I'm not going to be stuck here, I'm not going to be stuck this way.

I ran outside the dugout, and kept going until I met a stream not too far away. "Fuck my life!". I submerged my head, breathing in water. My lungs began to burn and I began choking, before anything else happened, I was pulled back out of the stream.

"Hey! What are you doing?!". I heard as the water drained from my ears. I hacked up water.

"What do you think?! I hate what's happened to me!". I tried to get out of her grasp, but the Sentret was persistent.

"Please, tell me what's wrong, ok?". The Sentret looked very concerned.

I broke down, tears streaming down my face. "she called me a monster and… and…". I literally could not continue talking.

"Hey, you just had a nightmare, ok?". Maize's voice sounded reassuring, as if she cared even if I was a stranger.

"I.. I think I overreacted". I sniffled, killing myself wouldn't solve anything. The Addie from my dream.. no, nightmare would never have shot me, I don't even think she owns a gun.

"Everything's going to be ok, I promise". I felt something soothing on the back of my head. It felt nice, that's when I realized that Maize was scratching behind my ears to calm me down.

".. Thank you".

"You said you were a human from a different world, I'm guessing you want to become a human again, right?". Maize asked, her voice full of worry.

"Yes… I'm not meant to be here, I have a life and job and a girlfriend, I was planning to propose soon too..". I had to stop myself from crying.

"I.. apologize, I don't know some of what you said, must be human terms. Sounds like you miss your friend. I promise, I will get you back to your world, I'll do anything to help!".

I hugged the Sentret. A total stranger was willing to help me, that's better than nothing.

"Eh.. but I think you need to actually clean off in the stream, those purple rings drip and make you smell really bad. Do you think you can control them?".

I put a paw to one of my ear rings, and stared at the goop that was stuck to it. "Maybe with practice?". I walked into the stream, I watched the purple stuff run off. "Uh.. you think this is bad for the animals.. eh.. Pokémon here?".

"I'm sure it's diluted enough…".

I stepped out, and instinctively shook my body, I felt drenched in water. My fur was gray-black again, but my rings still dripped. I wasn't feeling cold from the air, it must be around.. 70 Fahrenheit?. So that's good

"I think I'll be fine now, hopefully I'll get home!". I exclaimed with determination. Maize cheered. "That's the spirit!".

"Hmm…". I thought about it, how can I return to my world where I'm a human? If I'm in a world with Pokémon… a legendary could help? I have no clue how to find one anyways, I'm guessing that maybe Palkia or something that does dimensional stuff could help.

"You know what uh.. You know about legendary Pokémon right?". I hope that the Pokémon I had met knew something.

"Well, they're legends, I don't know much outside of old stories Jack. So I'll just take it as you know some of what you're doing". The Sentret began to walk back to her home.

"Maybe? I'm thinking Palkia can help me, because of space and uhh.. stuff". I wasn't sure what I should say now.

"Well, I'm not sure about uh.. Palkia. But there's a library in Sunpoint Town, I can take you there in a few hours, it's a looong walk". After following her, I was standing in front of the dugout again, I took time to notice crosshatch windows like I'd see on the buildings in.. Pokémon Mystery Dungeon? Maybe I was in that universe.

"Oh cool, civilization". My stomach suddenly growled.

"Hey, I'm hungry too, I'm guessing you haven't tried the berries here, but they are really good!".

"I trust you on that". I sat next to my belongings. Surprisingly my ring smell was almost completely gone. Maybe because I was feeling better. They don't seem to smell too bad if I don't feel negative emotions, still, it's like not wearing deodorant for days which isn't fun.

About 4 berries were placed in front of me, one was yellow, one blue, one red, and one pink. I recognized them from game sprites as a Sitrus berry, an Oran berry, a Cheri berry, and a Pecha berry. Easy ones to remember.

If I recall correctly.. Cheri is spicy? I'm not sure about the other one's flavors though.

The Oran and Sitrus berries were delicious, I felt full of new energy! They simply tasted… good. I don't know how to describe them. The Pecha was quite sweet, and the Cheri really was spicy. I like spicy food anyways.

"Tell me when you're ready to go, ok?". Maize slung a bag over her shoulders, and sat outside.

I managed to put my backpack back on over my back, my forelegs going through the shoulder straps. This thing isn't really meant to fit an Umbreon anyways.

"Ok, I'll follow you!".

The Sentret ran ahead, and I had to keep up.

"Yeah! Onward to Sunpoint Town!".
