Side Note - This is the last Chapter before the main events of the story begin, with Lydia meeting Delilah, Raiden, and Victoria as a Papergirl, so if you don't want to see any Introductions or "Side-Chapters" go ahead and skip to Chapter 4
Chapter 3 : Papergirl Princess
January 12th. . .
8:00 a.m.
Journal Entries : Princess Lydia
"Being The Gold Princess... well, not even sure if that name is accurate at this point, my brother thinks Gilded Glass is more suitable name for me, though the past few weeks have given me even more to question my family about, I knew my Great Uncle Wu, my Grampa, and my Uncle Brenden have kept secrets... but my Mommy, about having an elemental power that seemingly just came right out of my hand, it drives me to wonder what other secrets all of Ninjago keeps from me... and one friend I'm about to meet may uncover those secrets. . ."
Lydia woke up to hear the sound of her alarm clock, and she turned it off and realized what day it was.
Princess Lydia : Yes, this is it!
Lydia saw her brother was still asleep ( Since Montgomery and Lydia shared their room ) she kept quiet and went into the closet.
Since it was winter and snowing outside, the sound of the wind and light snow was preventing Lydia from making too much noise, and she got dressed without waking her brother.
Lydia's Winter Outfit was her wearing a Forest Green Bow across her head instead of it standing on top, the bow was placed down and going across the center-left side, and Lydia had a Forest Green Jacket that had a short black fur collar, and she also had a short Forest Green Tutu Skirt around her waist, and she was wearing Black Sweat Pants that had Swirly Gold Accents, and Forest Green Rubber Boots with Black Laces, and she also wore Black Princess Gloves, that went under her jacket sleeves and just past her elbows, and she had her Forest Green "Crossbody" Bag with the strap going over her right shoulder, with the bag being at her left hip.
Lydia's Bag was made of leather and was also Forest Green, and the middle of it had a Golden Lotus Flower Symbol ( The same symbol that Harumi had when she was the Princess of the Royal Family )
On the back of Lydia's Jacket, there was a Gold Lotus Flower, and in a "Semi-Diagonal" direction, the words over the Gold Lotus Flower said "Princess Lydia" on the back of it.
Lydia also put on her Forest Green Lipstick and then walked out of the closet, and saw Montgomery was still asleep and she left the room without needing to turn on the light.
Seeing nobody else around, Lydia walked towards the kitchen, and saw somebody smiling at her.
Emperor Lloyd : Rise and Shine, Princess.
Princess Lydia : Daddy, what are you doing up?
Emperor Lloyd : Waiting for you I guess, what you are doing up?
Princess Lydia : Starting as a Papergirl.
Lloyd remembered what Lydia was talking about, and spoke.
Emperor Lloyd : Forgot that's the job you chose for school, I won't keep you here if you don't want to be late.
Lloyd gave Lydia a Chocolate Chip Muffin, and she kissed her father's cheek and starting walking out.
Princess Lydia : I gotta grab my Skateboard.
Harumi walked into the kitchen as Lydia was running out and she didn't even notice her mother standing in the doorway as she went into the hallway.
Empress Harumi : She's seven and a Princess, and she knows how to ride a Skateboard?
Emperor Lloyd : I'm not getting involved in that, Rumi.
Harumi looked and saw Lydia grab her Skateboard, but not her black helmet, and she walked over to the closet and grabbed it and followed Lydia outside the gates of the palace.
Once outside, Lydia put her skateboard down, before Harumi spoke.
Empress Harumi : Sweetie... forget something?
Lydia roller her eyes as Harumi put Lydia's helmet on her, and kissed her cheek.
Princess Lydia : Mommy, come on, I don't want to be late.
Empress Harumi : Intersection?
Princess Lydia : Look both directions, I'm not five anymore Mommy.
Empress Harumi : Okay, if you're so sure about riding a Skateboard in January, just be careful.
Harumi kissed Lydia's cheek, and she smiled and rode away.
Princess Lydia : I will, I promise.
After Lydia rode away, Harumi went back towards the gate, and before going back inside, she saw Lydia riding into the city, and she spoke.
Empress Harumi : I wish she would never grow up. . .
20 Minutes Later. . .
7:30 a.m.
Lydia rode into the city and saw the place where the Paperboys were, and she stopped her skateboard.
Person : Fresh meat, huh, how long will she last?
Girl : Shut up, Garret, don't listen to him kid, you'll be fine.
Garret : Yea, I bet you a buck she won't make it an hour.
Lydia was more annoyed than concerned, and she placed her hands on her hips as she questioned him.
Princess Lydia : Excuse Me?
Garret : Whoa, take it down a notch, girly.
Lydia used her powers and blasted the boy's bike over, and it landed on top of him.
Princess Lydia : Shut up.
Just then a garage door opened, and Sammy came out with a clipboard and got the kids' attention.
Sammy : Alright kids, announcements.
Everybody payed attention, as two more girls and a boy rode up next to Lydia, since they were a bit late.
Sammy : We're now into Winter Mode, Route 5 and 8 are closed for construction, I want a decent amount to ride through the Ninjago Elementary School, for the kids around the dormitory, Route 23 is a quadruple black diamond, Route 30 is reopened after the biker crash a few months ago.
Lydia remembered Siddie telling her about when they were in with the Sons of Garmadon, and she crashed her bike into Felicia and damaged the highway they were on she was guessing now that it was Route 30.
Sammy : Route 49, is a triple red circle, keep an eye on each other's backs in case you crash, Spokes, Flash, and Pinball are out with injuries, and that leaves us a bit short but we'll manage, does the news sleep?
Paperboys : The News Never Sleeps!
Sammy : Oh and we have a new Papergirl, what's your name kid?
Princess Lydia : L-l-l-Lydia?
Sammy : Oh right, Princess Lydia, you're with Victoria's Group... Show her the ropes Val, and bring her back alive,
The girl Sammy was talking too had saluted to him, and got a serious look on her face.
Just then, Lydia heard thunder, which was a bit surprising since it was snowing, and she knew Vex was gone, so she was curious of why it was thunder she was hearing.
Princess Lydia : Did anyone else hear that?
Girl 2 : That makes no sense, it's Winter time and it stopped snowing, why are we hearing Thunder?
Sammy : Leave it be kids, it's Ninjago City.
Sammy : Alright kids now let's Go!
All the kids were grabbing the newspapers, and when Lydia grabbed hers, she just put them all in her bag, since they managed to fit, and got back on her Skateboard.
The girl with black and violet hair and purple lip gloss that was called Victoria came up to Lydia on her bike, and spoke.
Victoria : Ready, Princess?
Princess Lydia : Probably not, but I'll give it a shot... and what do they mean bring me back alive, anyone died on the job yet?
Victoria : No, but no promises, do what I say, when I say and you'll make it, I promise.
Princess Lydia : Okay.
Victoria : Wow, no fear out of you, you seem to have this down.
Princess Lydia : Eh... it's Ninjago City.
Victoria chuckled, she was gonna like the Princess.
Victoria : Alright, let's go!
Princess Lydia : Wait for Me!
Lydia was the only Papergirl using a Skateboard, but she didn't mind, since she thought it was better than to be peddling non-stop when her skateboard would just need her to push off the ground without any problems, and it being wet outside would help her skateboard move faster, it was turning she was worried about.
The group was riding down the streets of the city, and Lydia noticed a girl wearing a Black and Forest Green Cloak ( Take a guess at who it is ) and spoke to her.
Princess Lydia : Know me already, I'm Lydia.
Girl : The name's Delilah.
Princess Lydia : Pretty name.
Delilah : Thank you, I don't come to the city that often, but when I do, I ride with the people who I call my friends.
Princess Lydia : Oh, that's what I am now, a Friend?
Delilah : If you wanna be.
Princess Lydia : Deal... and you?
Boy : The name's Raiden.
Princess Lydia : Cool Name Day.
The group laughed at what Lydia said, when a thunderbolt struck a satellite tower on top of a building.
Princess Lydia : What's that?
Delilah : No idea. . .
Just then a Giant Scorpion, appeared and Raiden seemed shocked by it, but they kept riding.
Lydia saw the Scorpions coming towards her and she rode over to the sidewalk and jumped her Skateboard to ride on the wall of the building, and did a kickflip off the wall, and kicked the Scorpion's face as she rode away and caught up with the others, she saw Victoria simply riding around them throwing newspapers with Delilah, but Raiden was rather shocked by the scorpions appearing.
Princess Lydia : You okay, Raiden?
Raiden : I don't get it, out of all things, Lightning and Scorpions?
Princess Lydia : I don't understand what's happening, why are there Lightning Bolts targeting the Satellite Towers, why are Scorpions with huge swords for tails jumping off of buildings, and why are they made of Lightning and Metal?!
Victoria : Who knows, just keep your head down and keep riding.
Princess Lydia : Thanks Mrs. Obvious.
They all heard the Scorpion following them and moved faster.
Just then as they made a turn, they saw the Samurai X Mech.
Princess Lydia : Hazel. . .
Victoria : You know Samurai X?
Princess Lydia : Yea, she's my friend, and the White Ninja's Girlfriend.
Raiden : How would you know that?
Princess Lydia : I'm a Ninja.
The group then rode past the Mech, but Lydia stayed back for a second.
Delilah : Lydia?!
Princess Lydia : She needs my help.
Lydia rode up and climbed up the Mech before using Spinjitzu, then she whacked the scorpion in the head with her Skateboard, landed on the group and kept riding.
Hazel : Thank you, Princess.
Princess Lydia : Anytime... Can we go now?
The group rode away, with Victoria, Delilah, and Raiden enjoying their time with Lydia so far.
3 Hours Later. . .
The group was in an alleyway eating their lunch, with Lydia talking.
Princess Lydia : So first it's Giant Snakes, Flying Pirates Ships, Vermilion Army, Oni Titans, Fire Serpentine, Video Game Robots, now Lightning Scorpions, what's next?
Raiden : Is it always like that out here for you Princess?
Princess Lydia : Pretty much, another time It was my Grampa's Oni Titan and my Mommy's Crazy Bikers.
Victoria : You have a twisted family.
Princess Lydia : I know, though I always live with regret for my Grandfather's Reign, I couldn't bare to live without my Daddy when I still needed him for who I was "destined" to be, so working with his worst enemies was my only way to get him back, regardless of the price I'd pay for it.
Victoria : You don't always win, but there's a difference between winning a battle, and a war.
Princess Lydia : Thank you... also, Val?
Victoria : It's my nickname, my mother, Antonia, started calling me that, it means worth, health, and strength, I guess my mother can see all of that through my moxie.
Lydia then reached into her bag and grabbed her Muffin, and started eating it.
Victoria : We Papergirls and Paperboys got to stick together, this city is crazy.
Princess Lydia : You don't have to tell me that, I've seen crazy places in my time, The Formlings' Kingdom when it was at war, Fort Lexington, The Temple of Glass, My Great-grandfather's Grasslands when he was a Spirit, it's easy enough to say destiny has it out for me.
Victoria : Yea, well we may not all be Ninja, but our job's important too, people gotta know what's going on.
Raiden : True, but some people hate it with how much Gayle Gossip delivers breaking news.
Princess Lydia : I hear that.
Victoria : Sure, but the people of this city don't always understand the words she lives by, and what we go by, I mean does the news sleep?
Raiden, Delilah, and Lydia : The News Never Sleeps!
Victoria : See, easy as that... once we're done eating, let's get back out there.
20 Minutes Later. . .
The group was riding through Ninjago City despite being under attack by the Giant Black Scorpions, and kept delivering the Newspapers.
As they did another Scorpion appeared in the middle of the street, and Victoria spoke.
Victoria : Raiden, we'll go left, you and Lydia go right!
Raiden : Got it.
The group split off and went around the Scorpion, with Lydia jumping her skateboard on the wall of the building to make it around easier, while Raiden had on hand on the handlebars of his bike, and he reached for the Scorpion's Tail, because of the large blade on the back of it, but as he did, the Scorpion moved it's sharp tail, and left a huge scratch on Raiden's Back.
Princess Lydia : Raiden?!
Raiden grabbed the blade and Lydia saw red power coming from his hands, and he ripped the blade off, and the blade was surrounded with Raiden's Powers.
Princess Lydia : What the heck is that?!
Raiden : Not a word of this to Delilah and Val, got it?!
Lydia nodded, and the two kept riding, as the Scorpion turned around to try and attack, Raiden jumped off a small makeshift ramp and turned his back around mid-air, and threw the blade at the Scorpion, and his powers blew it apart into dust.
Princess Lydia : Are you okay, your back is bleeding.
Raiden : It's just a scratch.
Raiden reached back and grabbed the ripped cloth of his shirt, and ripped it off to keep the torn fabric from touching the wound, and the light snow was now touching the wound on Raiden's back, but Lydia also noticed there was a Black Scorpion tattoo on his back, and it looked just like the scorpion that Raiden destroyed.
Princess Lydia : Raiden... what's the tattoo on your back?
Raiden : Don't ask... I swore to my parents that I wouldn't tell anybody.
Princess Lydia : That tattoo is exactly like the thing that attacked us!
Raiden sighed, and a tear left one of his eyes, as he looked at Lydia.
Raiden : Not a word to Delilah and Val... then we'll talk.
Lydia nodded, though she was skeptical of Raiden's behavior.
The two met up with Delilah and Val at the end of the street and they kept riding.
Victoria : You okay, Raiden?
Delilah : What happened to your back?!
Raiden : I got scratched by the Scorpion.
Delilah : Scratched?
Princess Lydia : Those Scorpions have giant sword for tails... and-
Raiden looked at Lydia and she realized she was about to talk, and she nodded.
Victoria : And what?
Princess Lydia : Nothing, you two come out unscathed?
Delilah : Yea.
Raiden : Barely, I need to get this taken care of, how bad is it Lydia?
Princess Lydia : Do you want an honest answer, there's blood dripping down your back.
Raiden : Could've done without that last part.
Princess Lydia : We need to get Raiden to the hospital, he's bleeding too much.
Just then they heard more thunder and another satellite tower was stuck with Lightning, and more Giant Scorpions appeared.
Princess Lydia : We need to make it quick!
Delilah : I agree, I can't handle something like that?
Princess Lydia : How could you.
Delilah rubbed the back of her neck and looked away, and Lydia knew that her new friends were hiding something, but then it hit her.
Princess Lydia : You're Elemental Masters!
Raiden : So are you, that surprising?
Princess Lydia : What was that, it was like red lightning.
Raiden : Fusion, and it's more than that, you know how your brother's element is an energy of all creation elements in one, mine's a cross from Red Lightning and Energy.
Delilah : I'm not saying, I promised my Mother I wouldn't.
Victoria : The only way to the hospital from here is Route 49, which you don't want Princess, trust me.
Princess Lydia : Well we can't stay here, Raiden's going to lose too much blood.
Victoria : Alright, but we gotta ride fast and stay close, this'll get hairy real quick.
Victoria took off and the two followed her, with Raiden trying to ride fast despite the sharp pain in his back from the bleeding wound.
They went down alleyways and tried their best to stay out of sight from the Scorpions, and reached a large abandoned construction of a broken route, and Victoria spoke.
Victoria : Here it is, Route 49, you sure you're up for this Princess?
Princess Lydia : Take Raiden, and go!
Raiden started pedaling and Victoria grabbed his arm and helped him go faster and the two jumped over towards the scaffolding, and jumped their bikes off of it to reach a broken part of the route and make it to the other side.
Victoria : Delilah!
Delilah went next and made it as well.
Delilah : Come on, Lydia!
Lydia was hesitating and saw a Scorpion coming very fast, and she saw one of her dragons in it's large form coming towards her, and saw it was white and had glass scales on it's back.
Princess Lydia : Gewuji. . .
Lydia started riding and went down the Route and as it was reaching the end, she jumped her board up towards the Scaffolding, and jumped off of it as the Scorpion jumped as well, and she jumped off it's head and whacked it with her Skateboard, and jumped off the other scaffolding, before Gewuji breathed Glass at the Scorpion, and Lydia rode over her dragon's back and jumped off, doing an Airwalk 360 before landing on the other side.
Princess Lydia : We're Alive!
Victoria : Told you, you could do it.
Princess Lydia : Thank you, Victoria.
Victoria took off her helmet for a moment before smiling and she spoke to Lydia.
Victoria : Call me, Val.
Delilah : Let's Go!
Victoria put her helmet back on and Lydia smiled at her dragon, before following the others, to get Raiden to the hospital.
20 Minutes Later. . .
Lydia, Delilah, and Val got Raiden to the Hospital, and they were now stitching his back.
Just then, Opal came out into the waiting room and spoke to Lydia.
Opal : Lydia, what the heck happened?
Princess Lydia : Those Giant Scorpions that are randomly appearing around the city, they scratched him in the back and it took us a while to get him here.
Opal : But where are they coming from?
Princess Lydia : I have a feeling that Raiden knows... but he can't say it, not here.
Opal realized what Lydia was saying, and nodded.
Opal : Okay, he'll be alright though, it'll just take a bit for his back to heal, his stitches are with a thread that will be absorbed into his skin after a while, so he won't need them to be removed, he'll be fine.
Val : That's not how I expected this day to go.
Delilah : Well what did you expect?
Val : I don't know, not this.
Princess Lydia : Did you two know about Raiden's Powers?
Val : Yes, though we promised not to say anything.
Princess Lydia : Fusion is one of the elements that disappeared during The Serpentine War... my Great Uncle Wu told me that.
Delilah : And then Black Scorpions come out of nowhere, and are caused by the strikes of lightning bolts?
Princess Lydia : Something is going on... and I need to find out what.
Delilah : Peace is Over?
Princess Lydia : I don't know.
Delilah then had a very curious look in her eyes, while she looked at Lydia, and she believed she was the right one to warn.
Delilah : Lydia... take this.
Lydia came over to Delilah, and she saw her pull something out of her bag, it was a pendant that had a large glass jewel, and in the middle of it was a pretty big shiny emerald encased in the glass jewel, and it shined bright white and yellow light onto the ground from when it was raised up.
Princess Lydia : What is it?
Delilah : My Grandfather's Pendant, before he passed away when I was four, he told me to give it to the purest heart.
Princess Lydia : The light it gives from the sun's beaming, what kind of jewel is this?
Delilah : I can't answer that... not now, just know this, when the time comes, the pendant will show the destiny of those around you...
Delilah then walked outside and left, with Lydia putting the pendant around her neck, and she looked at it.
Princess Lydia : Maybe, after my Uncle Brenden and Aunt Akita removed Vex from power in The Formlings' Kingdom at the end of last year, the little power he had left was driving him to change Ninjago in one of the worst ways possible, and now...

Princess Lydia : I fear he may have done so...
Next Time on The Elemental Legion : Despite having a bandage wrapped around his torso, Raiden is healing, and Lydia comes into contact with Monica, and the two of them and Lloyd go to Meadow's Peak to question Raiden and his brother, Corentin, while they're with two other Lost Elementals, with Monica deciding it's time to know the truth of her path, before it all unfolds right in front of their very eyes. . .

Author's Note : That's it for the Side-Chapters, Chapter 4 will better explain the backstory of these Elemental Masters, and where they went after The Serpentine War, as for the new villains that the Ninja will come across, they'll be revealed as well... and while not much, I would ask if you could leave a Review, I've been getting lost or losing motivation when nobody follows, favorites, or reviews my stories, it makes me believe that nobody is looking at them, and I would ask if you could review on it.
