When Kirk opened his eyes he just sighed in relief, he was back on the Enterprise and it wasn't just him, it was the whole landing party too. "Spock, your timing is perfect as always." Kirk stated as he smiled at his First Officer, "Actually Captain, it wasn't me who beamed you back." Spock answered as he placed his hands behind his back. "Then who was it?" McCoy asked, it was at that moment Delta popped his head over the control panel. "Hey guys, sorry it took so long." Lexie's eyes immediately widened, along with Chekov's. "Delta, how did you?" "Scotty showed me how to use the transporter some time ago, just in case." Scotty smiled, "I knew it would come in handy one day, thanks lad." Delta smiled back at them all. After they had all had a look over from McCoy, just to make sure they were all Ok, they all headed off to do their own thing.
McCoy had decided to go and take a relaxing swim in the ships pool, he loved swimming and tried to do it every day but that very rarely happened. He had already done about six or seven laps, when he decided to call it there and he swam over to the side of the pool. McCoy very rarely swam over to the pool ladder when he chose to get out, instead he would just swim to the nearest side and just jump out there. But as McCoy pushed himself out of the water, he was suddenly launched up into the air in a jet of water. "What the hell?!" He cried as he threw his arms to the side, his hands pointing towards the floor. In a split second McCoy was poolside after the sudden jet of water set him down with a loud thud, McCoy coughed loudly as he got his breath back which had been knocked out of him. "What just bloody happened?" He muttered as he slowly got to his feet, McCoy was so confused he just stared at the water as it glistened in the light.
Kirk had gone up to the bridge along with Spock after his look over in sick bay, just to see what information the ships scans had come up with. "Anything of interest Spock?" Kirk asked, "Just an odd spike in an abnormal energy level Captain, but I do not believe it's anything to worry about." "Reason for this?" "It is possibly due to the nature of the planets physiological state, since it is shattered it may be releasing some form of energy, but like I said captain I don't believe we should be concerned." Kirk smile softly at his Vulcan friend before turning his attention to the view screen, which was showing Cecilia. "Will you be taking back command Captain?" "No Spock, keep the com. I need a bit of down time, see you later." Kirk replied as Spock sat back down in the command chair, but instead of heading back to his quarters, Kirk chose to head to the gym instead.
He had settled for lifting a few weights, a good run on the treadmill and then a good climb up the gym rope a few times. After doing all of that and still not being tired by some sort of reason, Kirk moved on to the punching bag. He had wrapped up his hands before starting and he had been going for about twenty minutes, even though his hands became sore. Kirk very often pushed himself to his limits and most of the time he went beyond them, it was only when his hands began to burn did Kirk think it was time to call it a day, mainly because this had never happened before. He was just doing his last few punches when something incredibly strange happened, as Kirk moved his fist towards the punching bag his fist burst into flames and he shot a fire ball at the bag, which caught fire almost instantly and burnt to ashes. Kirk blinked his eyes several times in disbelief, did he just? Kirk was confused as he raised his hands to his face, "What in the world did I just do?" He stuttered as he watched his hands slowly tremble.
While on his way to his quarters, Chekov had bumped into Sulu who had explained that he had put a rock sample of the planet in Chekov's quarters for him to study. "Thanks Hikaru, I can't wait to have a look at it." Chekov said excitedly before he waved goodbye to the helmsman, he ran the rest of the way to his quarters. He had asked for a section of the planet to be beamed aboard if at all possible, mainly since he really wished to see if he could find the true reason for the planets shattered appearance. Almost as soon as Chekov had entered his room, he ran straight to his desk where the planetary chunk sat. "My word…" Chekov muttered when he saw the sheer size of the sample which had been beamed aboard, he slowly sat down at his desk and began to run a series of tests on the chunk of earth.
Chekov must have been studying it for almost half an hour, it was then when he chose to pick up the rock. He slowly reached over to grip the rock, but when his finger tip touched it the whole thing shattered into several pieces. Chekov was a bit more than a little shocked, he was so shocked in fact that he threw his arm to the side. Only to find that the chunks of rock flew off the table and scattered all over the floor, with no explanation. "What?" Chekov asked as he hovered his hand over the mess, only for several of the pieces flew back up and hit him in the hand. It was then when Chekov leapt from his desk and held his hand close to his chest, clearly he was no longer just surprised, he was frightened.
Lexie had been asked by Delta if she would play a game of 3d chess with him, when the pair of them had returned to Lexie's quarters, but she was just too tired. "Sorry Delta, I will do later. Right now I need some sleep, maybe Keenser will have a game with you." She said with a yawn, Delta gave her a smile, "It's ok Lex, I know you haven't slept much lately. I'll see you later on." Delta said as he flew over to her and gave her a soft 'boop' on the nose, which made Lexie giggle. "Hey, that's my thing and yes, you'll see me later." Lexie replied as she returned the 'boop' her digital companion had given her, Delta couldn't help but laugh before he flew off to go and find Keenser. As Lexie returned into the main room from getting changed into something a little more comfortable, she saw her book sitting on her bed, sighing quietly to herself Lexie wandered over to her bed, picked up the book and began to read it as she climbed into bed. Lexie had only just opened the book when she sneezed, she didn't have time to raise her hand to her nose.
When Lexie opened her eyes she just stared at the sight which was before her, the room was a mess. Things had been knocked off shelves, her chair was on its side and some of the pictures which were hung on the wall were now all crooked. It looked as if a tornado had charged through. "Wow… Gazoontite… Wait why am I flying?" Lexie stuttered as she realised she was no longer standing on the floor, but she was hovering in the air, "How am I doing this?" She muttered. It was then when Lexie felt something flutter on her back, she slowly turned to see what it was and couldn't believe what she saw. On her back were a pair of small feathered wings, which were flapping gently. Lexie couldn't help but scream slightly at this sight, suddenly the wings vanished just as mysteriously as they had appeared, causing her to fall onto her bed with a thud. She slowly sat up and stared once again at the mess which was now her room, "Umm… OK this is now on my list of 'strangest things to have happened to me while on the Enterprise' that's for sure." Lexie stated as she blinked several times before looking over her shoulder at her back once more. "Did I seriously just have wings?"
Before Scotty had left sick bay McCoy had told him to go and find Lexie, to talk to her about this whole 'dad' thing. "The poor lass is half asleep, I'll tell her when she's a little more awake." That was all Scotty said to McCoy before he left, he had chosen to head down to his office to catch up on some paperwork which he had been meaning to do for what seemed like forever. Scotty had just sat down at his computer with a loud sigh, he was currently having a conversation with himself inside his head. "Maybe I should have gone and told the lass? No, better to do it when she's less tired, definitely better. Lexie's scary when she's tired." Once he had finished talking to himself, Scotty set to work.
He had only been typing for a short time when his fingers began to tingle, which was odd, they never normally did that. Scotty then glanced down to see what appeared to be static electricity flickering around his fingers on his right hand, which freaked him out. Scotty quickly flicked his hand to the side and what appeared to be a lightning bolt shot across the room and scorched the wall, Scotty grabbed his hand. It burned like hell, so much that he cursed in Gaelic. "What the bloody hell did I just do?!" He cried, just then his communicator bleeped. Scotty reached over and answered it with his unburned hand, "Scotty here." "Scotty it's Kirk, I need you in the briefing room immediately." "On my way Jim." Scotty replied before flicking his communicator closed, he then stood up and left his office. Scotty was debating going to sick bay to get his hand wrapped, but chose not to bother since he didn't know how he was going to explain how he hurt it in the first place.
