The duo of Satella and Subaru were walking on a dirt path through the forest, hand in hand as Satella led him to her home. Both individuals were lost in their own thoughts as they thought about one another secretly.

You know it is pretty cute being dragged by Satella, she has such a strong grip it reminds me of the time Emilia picked me up with such ease. Are half elves naturally that strong or is my body too weak? Either way I can't believe that this girl is the same girl from before. What type of circumstances led to her becoming the devil itself? Lots of questions but so little answers, but this is a good opportunity to learn about her. And I mean going to a beautiful girl's house isn't always that bad.

While Subaru was busy thinking about his plan a certain half elf had others plans.

YES! YES! YES! A new person has come, it's been so long since I met someone new and I think I hit a lucky score! He seems like a nice person, and he has good looks to come with it. He has a well toned body, he has a handsome face too, but what impressed me more than anything was his eyes.

The eyes of a beautiful brown having scary glare that would look menacing to a normal person but Satella saw something else most wouldn't see.

She saw kindness behind those, she saw hope like those eyes were something that could bring people out of their darkest places, and finally she saw love. The love those eyes had for the world, even if it was a cruel one. He still had that look of love in his eyes. Satella wished she could experience the world, but alas staying in the forest for most of her life wasn't helpful. She did have some friends who would visit her which was nice but it still didn't satisfy Satella.

The duo walked for what seemed like an hour before arriving at what looked like another part of the forest, this part didn't seem as colorful as the flower field he spawned in. They continued walking for a bit until they reached what looked like a small house.

"Welcome to my home in Elior forest, Natsuki Subaru. I hope you enjoy your stay." She said with a confident pose.

"Thanks for this Satella, you really don't know how helpful this is." Subaru said fondly, earning a bright smile from the half elf.

"Well then let's head inside we can discuss over some appas." She opened the door with unmissable joy in every movement.

As the duo headed inside Subaru made note of her home. It was a nice place, at best for a single person with a table with 2 chairs and a nice sofa. He looked around, seeing nice decorations of flowers and paintings around the room, with a bed fit for only one person. Well, the bed size didn't matter if he was going to stay the night. He was gonna sleep on the couch.

The best way he could describe the small house was homey.

"Home sweet home." Satella said as she sat on her couch, releasing a small sigh of comfort as she closed her eyes.

"You have a pretty nice home Satella-tan i'm impressed"

"Thanks, Subaru why don't you come sit and I will peel some appas for us" the socially inept girl chirped, clearly happy to have company.

"Sounds good Satella-tan."

He waited for what seemed like a few minutes before Satella brought a plate full of fresh peeled appas. Subaru couldn't deny that looking at the appas made him hungrier by the second. She placed the plate down on the couch and both of them started to converse.

"Thank you Satella, these appas look tasty" the black haired man said, inspecting the appas from afar.

"Well, eat them up, I have plenty more if you need"

Subaru began picking up some slices, and boy did they taste good as he ate them both began to talk about themselves and who they were. Subaru told her about simple things like his family and where he came from, it wasn't surprising that Satella had no idea what he was talking about, but she was amazed at the place known as JA-PAN as he would pronounce it.

Meanwhile, Satella told him about herself, she didn't have parents or any sort of blood family she could speak of, so she told him about her friends, the witches of sin. She left out the witch's part as she didn't want him to get scared of her, as being connected with a witch wasn't seen as acceptable and Satella knowing 7 of them was over kill. Subaru listened carefully as she told him details about her and the world such as the place they were in Elior forest and the kingdom of lugunica and their royal family.

"Man these places seem so cool"

"Yes, they are Subaru, but my knowledge of them isn't very plentiful, I.." she paused awkwardly as she looked away, seemingly embarrassed "don't get out much." She finished slowly.

"Hey that's fine, you helped a lot! i'm really thankful for Satella-tan!"

Satella smiled only to be interrupted by the ground shaking.

"Satella-tan why is the ground shaking so much." Subaru questioned worriedly.

With that Satella ran to him and said:

"No time Subaru go and find a place to hide." she said frantically, grasping his hand as she led him.

Subaru is ushered into the other room to find a spot to hide. As the ground shakes even more violently his urgency to find cover rises to heightened levels. Subaru finds a small closet containing minor belongings and whatnot. He realizes that although the closet is small, but by moving a few things around he should just barely fit within the confines and hopefully safety of the closet. Quickly making the necessary space for himself, Subaru narrowly squeezes himself in the closet.

The ground begins to quake louder. The rumbling began to reach deafening levels. Subaru ponders the origin of the shaking, fearing the worst. One thing he's learned since he got to this new world was that it was cruel. Even the most innocent of things could be living nightmares… like the bunnies.

Oh God the bunnies. Subaru's head fills with flashbacks of the great rabbit ravaging his body as their next feast. Tearing into his skin to consuming his flesh. Crunching on his bones to fill their monstrous appetite. Eating away his internal organs, he could still feel some of them burst if he thought hard enough. The rabbit burrowing holes into his body consuming him from the inside out. It was painful, it was agonizing having every part of him bit by bit be ripped away. Relief hits him as the rabbits finally eat his brain, finally ending his miserable existence.

Subaru shakes himself out of his flashback. Now was not the time to be thinking about that. The ground shakes once more. The closer it got he felt like he could hear screaming, closer and closer, he heard the ground shake. He steeled himself for the worst. Then it all stopped and a single knock happened on the door. He was confused as to what happened so he opened the door a bit to hear what was going on.

"Hello Satella" Subaru hears someone say they sound familiar but he couldn't quite place it.

"It's nice to see you to too Minerva"

Subaru heard it all well and clear on who it was.
