Bonus Episode #3 – Rise from the Ashes: 3rd Trial

Time: February 23, 11:56 AM

Location: District Court-Defendant Lobby No. 2

Waiting outside the lobby room during recess – for Phoenix, Cassie, and Ema try to rethink on what Angel told them and what she was missing out to be caught. Well, in something so reckless to try to and hating Lana a lot to see her doing something to look like she murder Bruce in cold blood. So about how Angel go there to jumping down and Lana did try to call Ema in two different ways but has failed to do so...What's for them to do next to talk about? Hopefully more investigating until tomorrow's trial to be happening.

Ema: Ah...Mr. Wright? Cassie?

Phoenix: Yes?

Cassie: Is there something on your mind, Ema?

From the way the trial works out was one of them...

Ema: Are trials...always like this with you? Well, for the both of you I mean.

Phoenix: Only on a good day.

For some they do and others...they've been through much worse almost.

Cassie: We have a lot to talk about some other time if you wish to hear more.

Entering the lobby room with the three, it was Jake Marshall himself. This guy? Well, he was watching on how the trial was going on so far.

Jake: Morning, partner. Miss.

Cassie: Jake? (Oh, how so gentleman of this guy...Eh...)

Tilting his hat to them means in some respect.

Ema: Mr. Marshall.

Jake: Thought I'd come take a look-see at how the trial's going. Looks like I'm late. They've got the place locked down tighter than a fort in enemy territory!

Cassie: More like the whole muffler deal.

What was up with that? Lana didn't have a scarf of the muffle at all in the photograph.

Ema: Um...Officer Marshall? The whole "muffler" thing didn't have anything to do with scarves...She wasn't even wearing a scarf!

Jake: My cowboy instincts say differently. The Chief of Prosecutor was at the ceremony thing, and I woulda known if I saw her wearing a muffler to begin with.

Phoenix: She was?

Well this changed everything now 'so far'. She had it on, and then she didn't.

Ema: Then Angel Starr may had seen it after all.

Cassie: I'm so lost. She may had it one this muffler, or didn't. Which one is it?!

Phoenix: Maybe...Question is, what happened to it?

Maybe Lana dropped it somewhere before she was at the scene of the crime?

Jake: Well, you people seem to have a head scratchier here. But I best I make a with a horse and gallop along now. I wish you all the luck, partner. From everything so far, you all are gonna need it.

Ema: Thanks again, Mr. Marshall.

Anything to know something from one of the witness was helpful enough, Jake then tilts his hat to them and makes his leave. So, the next part was finding Lana's missing muffler of a scarf. Soon a announcement goes off.

Speaker: [With the party of Ms. Skye, please return to the court room.]

Recess was about over to get back to trial again.

Cassie: There's a queue to go back then.

Phoenix: Sounds like they're calling us back in alright.

Then they have to be ready on what's to come next before calling it a day.

Ema: That was rather quick.

Phoenix: Well hopefully the investigation will lead us to something else next.

Cassie: And without getting anymore headaches of confusion.

Back to the courtroom the three go back to their spots, with a lot more happening next. Oh, boy.

Time: February 23, 12:32 PM

Location: District Court-Courtroom No. 9

Sitting back down for the three return back into the room and Edgeworth as well, for the Judge hits his gavel to say so.

Judge: Court is back in section. We'll resume the rest of the trial, so may we have an officer to testify next? Please? Mr. Edgeworth, if you don't mind.

Great, what does he have to say next before calling it another day for more investigating to do?

Edgeworth: Well, I believe...

Soon to stop for Edgeworth recognizes someone who just enters in the courtroom to be another important character.

Cassie: Hey, who's that? (And what is he holding his hands? A red scarf...?)

Someone who means business to be well known - Damon Gant is is his name. And for him to be holding in his hands, it looked like Lana's long red scarf he has found? Huh?! Just who is this guy?

Gant: Long time no see, Udgey! How have you been?

Seems like those two know each other very well as well he gives out nicknames.

Phoenix: "Udgey"?

Judge: Ah! Hello, hello. No, I've been so busy...

Gant: Busy! Busy-smizzy, Udgey, my boy! You have to make time to relax!

Judge: Y-yes, indeed.

This leaves Phoenix, Cassie, and Ema a bit confused.

Cassie: Those two seem all buddy-buddy.

Phoenix: I'm sorry, but who are you?

Jude: Mr. Wright, I don't think you or Ms. Freeman haven't meant the Chief of Police before until now.

Cassie: He's the Chief of Police?!

Judge: He is Damon Gant himself.

Now they see him for Damon to be friendly to the two lovers too.

Gant: Ah! Little Worthy! How are you doing? And you have a girlfriend, Cassiely. It's nice to finally meet you too.

Phoenix: Ah, thanks...

Cassie: Wait. Udgey? Wrighto? Casseily? (What weird nick names he gives out.)

Whatever makes him happy to do so as well as introducing himself next.

Gant: The name's Gant, Damon Gant.

Judge: And what do we own this unexpected pleasure? It's been two years since you've step in this courtroom.

Gant: Well, it's Worthy and his lady friend, here. Look at the poor fellow! I just thought I'd help out...by bringing this.

No doubt about it, that scarf belongs to Lana to finally be found.

Cassie: It that a scarf?! (So I was right!)

Ema: That's my sister's muffler!

So a scarf is called a muffler sometimes. For one thing, Angel was right.

Phoenix: (So Ms. Starr wasn't just seeing things! When the crime occurred, Ms. Skye really was wearing that muffler!)

Gant: It was found hidden in Worthy's car.

Cassie: But we didn't find it during our investigation!

And somehow, it was in Damon's hands right now. He calls Edgeworth "Worthy" there. And yet he wasn't so happy at all.

Edgeworth: *OBJECTION!* Chief! How could you miss a vital piece of evidences?!

Well, it wasn't from yesterday if Edgeworth says so to Meekins and not to object it. Oh boy...

Gant: Now wait a moment, Worthy...

Edgeworth: I don't want to hear excuses!

Gant: I said wait! Or didn't you hear me...?

From his shouting a bit made Edgeworth shake from someone to correct him the hard way, damn. it did make him calm down a bit.

Cassie: (From a cheerful man, and becoming a serious person now. Scary...)

Gant: It was reported, but you refuse to see it. Remember? So I would like to have a written apology later on.

Now he has done it.

Judge: Well this is very surprising, Mr. Edgeworth. Now let's examine this new evidences.

Walking up to Phoenix, Damon shows him, Cassie, and Ema the other evidences which the muffler was covering up.

Gant: Here you go, Wright. Cassie, if you like to see it then you may.

Removing the scarf, the three see it was a knife hidden in it. But the tip was broken and it was covered in blood, with a name tag saying - 'SL-9' on it.

Cassie: The scarf had a knife in it? But it has dry up blood with a tip broken off. (It also says SL-9? What does it mean?)

Judge: My, this is important evidences. Thank you for showing us this, Mr. Gant.

Seems like there was something else to hold on to for now.

Gant: Not at all, Udgey. We should catch up sometime. Free for lunch?

Judge: Not today I'm afraid. maybe somewhere on the 25th this month?

Gant: The 25th it is. Take care of yourself, Udgey.

But before he left, Edgeworth stops Damon to say something about the two evidences to show up right away.

Edgeworth: *HOLD IT!* Your Honor, I refuse for him to leave until we learn about these two new evidences!

Judge: I'm terribly sorry, Gant, but would you mind testifying about the investigating? From the muffler and anything else about the knife?

He didn't mind one bit to help out.

Gant: Of course, no problem.

Cassie: (Man, I never seen Edgeworth this upsetting in person like this.)

And now, it was time to hear about Damon's testifying about the whole few evidences that was just been found.

Witness Testimony

Gant: This knife is special...but I can't say how here. Unless there's evidence to prove a connection between this knife and Goodman...That was a bad day for the Department. We weren't in any shape to do an investigation. A detective was killed at the Police Department, see...what a mess! The time of the crime? 5:15. Scary coincidence, eh? It's not officially linked to this here case, so I can't talk much about it.

So, that was all Damon can give up for Cassie had an odd feeling she was feeling out.

Cassie: (Weird...He's right on what happen of something else happening from one place to another. Two murders in one day? In two different places?)

Yeah, something was up.

Edgeworth: And what about the knife?

Gant: That knife is very important to the police department. But without any proof, I can't say why.

It just happened during another event at the police station accrued while Bruce was murdered?

Cassie: How strange...

Judge: I think we can understand this situation. Are you stratified, Mr. Edgeworth?

From there, Phoenix and Cassie had a feeling to look at the note left in Edgeworth's car.

Cassie: (Wait...!) Hey, Phoenix. Look at the note again.

Phoenix: This thing?

Cassie: Yeah, look at it again. But...Turn it upside down. The tag name on the murder weapon knife remind me of something/

From her powers, I think Cassie sense something else for the murder weapon to be found and the note to remind them of something very big. As for Edgeworth gets it so far.

Edgeworth: Yes, Your Honor.

Phoenix: (I think Cassie's on to something...Got it!) Your Honor, we both wish to exercise a cross-examination with Mr. Gant please.

Cassie: It's very important.

It is allow for Gant is trying to lend a hand is all for them to discover something as well.

Judge: Very well, Mr. Wright and Ms. Freeman, you two may...however! Keep your questions focused on the case at hand!

It was worth a shot...

Cross-Examination

It was all in the paper to present to Damon about it.

Phoenix: Chief Gant, I believe both Cassie and I have a connection right here.

Cassie: It's all in the paper which has something to do with the knife in Lana's scarf. See for yourself, sir.

Phoenix: This was found on Goodman's body.

Seeing the paper for Damon has a better closer look, what happens next changes things a little bit more.

Gant: 6-15 12/2...? Wrighto my boy, I think you and Cassiely have lost me.

Ah, he read it the wrong way.

Cassie: Ah Damon...YOU'RE READING IT THE WRONG WAY!

Another anger problem for Cassie to say.

Ema: What a voice!

This only had Damon laughing and clapping.

Gant: Ha, ha, ha! What joy. You remind me of my daughter so much, young lady. From your attitude and such, do keep at it. Now then the paper, what am I looking at here?

Phoenix: About the note, that's what you think it'll be right from Goodman himself. But if you turn it upside down, I think you'll see a little bit more meaningful.

He does it, and they were right. Like the tag on the knife, the paper made a whole lot more sense.

Gant: Aha! 2/21 SL-9!

Meaning...? From a event that happen on the month and day.

Cassie: *BINGO!* It's some case event being the SL-9, on February the 21st. (Now he gets it.)

Phoenix: (There we go.) Excellently! The same number on the broken knife's label, for it does have a connecting.

Cassie: Meaning it has something to do about some event a while back.

From the sounds of it, then it has to be the case. And a lot more to talk about next.

Gant: It seems like. And since you two couple has figured it out, I will start spilling the beans. That knife was evidences in a previous case, to be one of the best unsolved case so far.

Phoenix: Then it must've been taken out of the evidences room.

True, and yet it still weird on how it has to do with Lana's being suspicious of murdering Bruce.

Cassie: Now why would someone steal something this important during the other event happening at the parking lot? That's the next question we need to ask ourselves next. (Or try to...)

Phoenix: Then it has to be true, yes?

Seems like it for Damon says the rest about it to be clapping too.

Gant: Good show, Wrighto and Cassiely.

Phoenix: The same evidences room where the detective was killed in. And there you have it, the two things to be one of the same from this case.

Cassie: More like one coming back in this new one that is.

This pleases Damon on their hard work yet again.

Gant: Nice work as always, and a cute couple. You both have solved on why it happened without panicking a lot. Isn't that right, Wrighto?

Phoenix: Ah, yeah. Thank you, sir.

Cassie: It was all in a days work. (What a strange man...Wait, did he say my attitude reminds him of his daughter?)

Well, this was still news for Edgeworth heard it all before.

Edgeworth: So he has given us information about the victim at the police department.

But wait, there was more to talk about.

Gant: Just one problem, Worthy. The information hasn't been release yet.

See? A big mistake that Edgeworth has made ever since yesterday.

Phoenix: Then can you still give it to us unofficially?

Staring at Phoenix in silence, he says it.

Gant: Sure! Why not?

Cassie: Okay then...That was weird.

Gant: Ha! I just like to kid around.

Phoenix: Really?

Well that was a bit too easy, but okay.

Gant: I'll tell you one thing, and one thing only...But I can't disclosed the name of the victim.

Cassie: Part of the rules I guess.

Can't say the name? Then there was another way to say something.

Phoenix: Then can you give up an ID number?

Cassie: I think that's fine to do. (All part of the court rules for what I've been reading.)

Gant: I don't see why not. It's...5842189. It that plenty?

They got that written down to memorized it, for Cassie does so and for Phoenix the most. So, the ID card number might belong to Bruce somehow.

Phoenix: Yeah, yes it is. Very.

Judge: Mr. Wright, are you okay?

Looking at the ID card number, it was the same from the wallet of Bruce's with his ID card in it.

Cassie: *GOT YOU NOW!* Yeah, we're find, Your Honor. We got something big.

Phoenix: What she said. From what we found is something new in this type of information.

Something very good of the ID card was the same as Bruce's card he had in his wallet.

Edgeworth: For god sakes, Wright, make your point!

Cassie: Hey! We got it! Relax Edgeworth, and hear us out.

From the card to present next...

Phoenix: I have the ID card of the police detective. Which also says, #5842189.

Cassie: See? It was luck on it somehow.

Phoenix: And this was the same as Bruce Goodman.

Showing it and the number, it was a perfect match.

Cassie: *BINGO!* Now we got something brand new to learn about.

Shocking for Damon, Ema, the Judge, and Edgeworth to be hearing this.

Edgeworth: Wait! What does this-!

Phoenix: "Mean"? That's what I want to know.

Cassie: Me too!

Phoenix: In other words, the victim same victim did die in the evidences room, which also had Detective Goodman get killed at the prosecutor's parking lot. For it all of this happened of the two things at the same time.

Sure sounds like it, talk about a twist there.

Edgeworth: But that's impossible! You two are saying that two people were killed at the different places and at the same time?!

Cassie: Sure seems like like it for everything to come together so far.

Hitting the gavel, the Judge had plenty to hear about the case to change things up so far and more to find out next.

Judge: Order! Damon, what's the meaning of this?

Edgeworth: No! The important thing I want to know is why I wasn't informed about it until today?

As I said before...Edgeworth would've by Meekins yesterday, but he said no. So, sorry dude.

Cassie: (Oh, no...Edgeworth did!)

She already figured it out as Damon says the rest to Edgeworth from his mistake. For he wasn't too happy to hear about this at all.

Gant: Now calm down, Worthy.

Edgeworth: The police department made a great error!

Gant: I said calm down! Or didn't you hear me? I think you should rethink your mistakes before jumping the gun. We informed you yesterday. I believe it was our Officer Meekins who brought you the news?

Edgeworth: O-officer...Meekins? But he said it had nothing to do with Skye's case!

It's one thing to hear Cassie's anger, but from Damon's a bit demanding and scary. And yeah, Meekins didn't really say it at all.

Gant: Now Worthy, I won't let your little mix ups to go to waste again. The victim was written clearly from the report. Cassiely, here's the report. Could you read it out loud to all of us please?

Showing the paper, Cassie reads it out.

Cassie: It said everything as we just heard. Edgeworth refused from Meekins' report and Damon did it instead. (Sorry, Edgeworth...)

Edgeworth: But, Sir! You could've given me the report this morning.

Gant: No such luck I'm afraid, Worthy. That the report wasn't submitted to Edgeworth and that's what happened. And according the secret code of evidences...New evidence may only be submitted if it concerns the case on trial.

From one of the rule books and what Cassie had learned, Damn was right.

Cassie: Rule number two, that's correct.

Gant: See? Normally, you submit a list of evidence to be used in court before the trial. This report wasn't on that list...But thanks to Wrighto and Cassiely, they got the rest down.

Phoenix: I'm just doing my job.

Shy to admit it, both Phoenix and Cassie due feel bad for Edgeworth to be shamed upon like this.

Gant: Well? Do you have anything to say for yourself?

Edgeworth: I apologize from my terrible lack of due diligence on my part...Just give me one more day to sort things out.

Cassie: Edgeworth?

Edgeworth: There's need to worry, Cassie, it's my problem to deal with. And mine alone...

I think he was trying to say to Cassie was it'll be fine for Edgeworth to fix everything.

Gant: Then you better get some results this time.

It was hard to see Edgeworth suffer like this.

Ema: Poor Mr. Edgeworth.

I think he'll be fine afterwards to not make this type of mistake ever again.

Edgeworth: Thank you, Sir...

Gant: Well, I'm best to be making tracks. Take it easy, Cassiely. Goodbye all. See you again, Udgey.

Judge: Farewell, Damon.

Leaving the room, they have another day for more investigation.

Cassie: Talk about your big turn of events.

Judge: Now then, Mr. Edgeworth. I don't think there's ever been an error this serious in the history of this court. We will grant one further day as the prosecution has requested. Will this be sufficient, Mr. Edgeworth.

Edgeworth: Yes, Your Honor. Thank you.

Lesson learned for today.

Judge: Whatever your punishment for this is, for your sake I hope it's not...decisive. Very well! For this case still needs to be solved, so best to luck to you both on whatever you can find for tomorrow. Court is adjourned!

Hitting the gavel to call it a day and what a day it really was. Leaving outside of the courtroom for Phoenix, Cassie, and Ema to look around the evidences room to find any clues on the mysterious death and knife to be stolen there. They needed to find out what went down there during the time when Bruce was killed.

Ema: So whats going on, Mr. Wright? Cassie? I'm lost.

Cassie: Same here.

Phoenix: Join the club. This is getting even more impossible.

Yeah, a lot to discover next.

Ema: Well, you two just proved that it was.

Phoenix: I wish Cassie and I would've gotten it sooner. The question is, where else can we get it?

Cassie: Anywhere on what Damon told us?

Then it was a start.

Ema: Anyways, we should start searching from there. We enough time today until tomorrow, we can use it to investigate the evidences room next.

Phoenix: I guess you're right. Cassie, I'm going to need all the help we can get.

Anything to try to prove in Lana's innocence for sure.

Cassie: You got it, Phoenix.

Embracing each other with a sweet hug and to giving it there all.

Phoenix: Then let's start paying a little visit at the police station next to try to get any more evidences in the evidences room.

Ema: I thought so. I got a few things that might help us out.

Cassie Like what?

For Ema Skye to become a science investigator will come in handy for them to find something good, with her type of skills.

Ema: You two will see. I need to go back home and get them first. I'll meet you two there.

Off she goes to get...whatever she uses to find any clues left out for Phoenix and Cassie, leave it to Ema as well to be part of the team. With her taking off for a bit, Damon sees the couple from up the stairs to say something to them next.

Cassie: Huh? Damon? (What does he want from us?)

Damon: Nothing, just wanted to say hi again. It was quite a show, Wrighto and Cassiely.

Oh really? It was a twist that time.

Phoenix: If you're asking us, it was big. Lots for us to find anything next.

Damon: Yes, a lot to become famous, Wrighto. And you Cassiely, with such fine skills like my daughter once had.

Again with Damon's daughter to remind Cassie of her?

Cassie: Ah thanks, I think.

Damon: Now tell me, do you two swim much?

Cassie: And what does swimming have to do with the case?

Something about getting out more in Damon's own words maybe.

Phoenix: And not me, sir. I really don't have the upper body strength.

Cassie: I can swim, but you know...Not at a time like this.

Gant: And neither does Udgey, but he still has the...manly spirits.

Not really the best jokes to say about it at all.

Cassie: If you say so... (Should I even ask?)

Phoenix: I think he just call the Judge fat.

Yeah, it mighty sounded like an insult almost. Ouch.

Gant: Udgey would try to and that's it is all I'm saying.

Phoenix: Well, maybe not in court.

This sure made Damon laugh up a bit.

Cassie: Let just keep the last part to ourselves then.

Gant: A good idea there.

Phoenix: By the way sir, what's going to happen to Edgeworth?

Cassie: He's not going to jail, is he?

Not this time, but he has a lot of paper work to do to say on how much he was really sorry from his mistake today.

Gant: Worthy's been careless, but he won't be arrested for it. Things like this happen by accident. With some paper work and a slap to the face from the words will get him back to his senses in no time.

Phoenix: We hope so because Edgeworth's been having a hard time lately.

Cassie: If you already know about it.

From the DL-6 and the other murder from Edgeworth to be set up for? Yeah, a lot has been told all over the area lately.

Gant: I'm more surprised you're showing some feelings toward the man more, Wrighto. And you too, Cassiely. From the two men who love you, they still care to get the job done.

Cassie: Yeah, but Phoenix is who I'm in love with more. I hope Edgeworth finds his true love some day.

Gant: From what's been happening so far, you two are trying to prove in Ms. Skye's innocents after all.

With so much more to be done next.

Phoenix: It's not like that...Cassie love me, I love her, and Edgeworth's okay with it. We're friends and still rivals in court is all. We both push each other during the trial to give it our all and our goals to still follow the path on which is right.

Gant: Hmmm...Another interesting point of view. Anyways, I can't stand around here all day, I got a lot of work to do. To the police department next, I can tell is where you two will be investigating next.

That's where they're heading to next with Ema meeting up with them.

Phoenix: Oh, thank you sir.

Cassie: We'll solve this entire case in no time.

Well, off Gant goes back to get his work done with Edgeworth to be just fine once the paper work was all done and what a lot of paper work to be signing on his end...With Phoenix and Cassie were ready to begin their investigating and waiting for Ema at the police department, there was a lot to learn of another murder at the evidences room. Really..? If this was true, then who was arrest for it and who was killed? More to come next time.
