Asami had no time to grief, as the masked Equalist leader launching his attack. Korra tried to stop Amon by bloodbending, it only delayed the attack for about 3 seconds, but long enough for Asami to slip in the electric glove from Hiroshi's hand. The new CEO of Future Industry activated the battery, set the power level to the highest, aiming her fist at Amon's throat.
The masked bloodbender avoided the attack with ease, throwing his fist into Asami's sternum, leaving his opponent crunching onto the ground and struggling to breath. He wasted no more time on the nonbender, trying to bloodbend the Avatar.
"I know you are a bloodbender as well" said Amon, "but you have yet to master the art. You can't resist my grip for long."
"Long enough to put you down." Korra said, launching to him with a stream of scorching white flame. They exchanged a few attacks, and Korra found her unable to hit the masked bloodbender, she felt a subtle tingling whenever she was about to land her attack, just enough to let her miss the target. Bloodbending, so subtle that most benders couldn't notice, yet so powerful to nullify the defence of a skilled bloodbender.
"You surprised me waterbender," Amon stares at Korra through his masks, "never did I suspect you were at the same time, the White Flame of Republic City. Or do you prefer to be called 'Avatar'?" Breaking out from the 5 minutes of straight up intensive fighting, both of them were panting.
"Surprised you imbecile? I got more." Korra tried not to talk too much so that she could recover her stamina. She quickly took a check around. Asami has recovered from the decapacitating blow, and now is staring at her in utter disbelief. No time to explain, she thought, there's no way she's will defeat him here, the weapons are made from platinum; the walls are bendable material, but that's going to bury all of them alive. They need to get outside, right now her only hope was a waterbending move she discovered while she was learning healing, which requires actual water to perform. She had never use it in real combat situations but there is no alternative.
She blew out a stream of fire to temporarily block Amon's sight, at the same time she grabbed Asami and ran to the elevator. As soon as they get in, she tried to metalbend the elevator as fast as she could. The Equalist leader followed suit but failed his attempt at getting into the elevator, he still managed to hang onto the edge of the metal contraption. Thank the spirits, Korra thought, that was close, he was a few centimetres away when the door closed.
"Run!" Korra shouted to Asami the moment the elevator reached to the top and the door opened. "Here!" the non bender yelled, running to the backdoor of the garage, which lead them straight to the outside of the mansion. The avatar followed suit, hurling streams of fire and whatever metal object on sight to Amon as a distraction.
As soon as they're on the public street, Korra stopped fire and earth bending altogether. Not today, it's not the time, she must keep her identity a secret. She is well aware of the fact that Amon couldn't afford to bloodbend in the public, he would lose all the support. It's past midnight so there's only a few people on the street, but as long as there are random citizens on site, Amon wouldn't bloodbend.
"To Yue Bay! There's plenty of water!" Asami screamed. Within minutes of running the water has reached their sight.
"Now I'll show you people who Amon really is!" Korra exclaimed, bending a ton of water from the Sea, the noise successfully caught the attention of all the pedestrians within a few blocks. She solidified the water into a block of ice, then with each swift motion of her hands, she sliced a thin piece of ice that's hardly visible to the eyes from the block, and launched the ice blade to Amon. Thanks to Katara, she thought, it was very effective against Amon, who could not use his bending here. The Equalist leader was forced into a defensive position, barely escaping the blade of ice. This proved to be the perfect distraction, as Korra kept him completely occupied, she lured him into closing the distance, on the meanwhile preparing for a water tentacle.
Splash! The tentacle completely engulfed Amon's body. Immediately, the water started glowing, but it is not healing exactly, Amon found his body paralyzed, and then hurled into the water. The people exclaimed out of pure shock, a waterbender killed the leader of the Equalist! At least that's what they thought before they see a tunnel of water launching into the sky, it's Amon without his mask, instead of the burning scares he claimed to be delivered by a firebender, his face is totally unscared, and he's waterbending! "Liar!" People roared in rage, "Get away from our city!"
"This is not over, Avatar!" he shouted, but no one could hear what he was saying due to the noise from him bending the water column. Within minutes, he was out of sight.
"You have a lot of explanation to do, Korra." Asami had clearly figured out the obvious, to which she clearly had mixed emotions, it's perfectly shown on her face.
"I promise I will, but not here." The Avatar replied, "let's go, before the police come." She bends water from the sea, turning it into a mist, creating thick fog in seconds. When people heard the sirens, the waterbender and her friend were nowhere to be found.
