Lena's habit of leaving their room in a mess wasn't the only thing which irritated Violet. Her new sister would borrow pens and then lose them, browse the books on her bookshelf and not return the books to their carefully ordered places. Then the one time during a sleepover, when Louie accidentally spilled pep on her shirt and Violet borrowed Lena's striped sweater to wear, Lena got upset.
Violet What are the rules about sharing with siblings?
Huey Uncle Donald says we have to share, but Dewey isn't great a taking care of things he borrows and Louie hoards pep cans like they're the last ones available on the planet. The only thing I have that's truly safe from my brothers is my JWG, and only because I keep it with me at all times and they aren't interested in it.
Violet So it is acceptable not to share that which is most valuable to us?
Huey Is there something you don't want to share with Lena?
Violet It upsets me when doesn't take care of my items, but I am happy to share everything I own. I'm just concerned because she doesn't feel the same way. For example, I'm not allowed to borrow her sweater.
Huey I think this is one of those times when you need to talk to Lena, to find out why she doesn't want to share - perhaps the sweater is very important to her.
Violet I see, thank you for your advice.
