While Clark is bathing, Xena and Gabrielle is changing clothes.

" You know what. " Gabrielle stared at him, " these rags won't do much justice to you . "
Clark looked at himself . They are not as fine as the clothes he wear at home but jeans won't be invented for another 3000 years.
" Aphrodite . " Clark called . " What are you doing here besides mocking my clothes. " Clark asked.
" Nothing. " Aphrodite replied.
" Aphrodite , you can't spend all your time with us . You are goddess of love. People need you . " Gabrielle said .

He didn't get all ingredients correct but he made them as close as possible.

Clark asked for more details as some war lord named Gargoylus is abducting some, blackmailing some , offering gifts to some , to participate in arena fights.
" Gabrielle, I have to get some more ingredients , can you look after this cart . " Clark said.
Gabrielle nodded, Clark just left.
Clark roamed around the city, listened for mentioning of the warlord name .
He is new to this world , not exactly know how this works but he has plan.
Clark found a henchman of the warlord named Kaxus .
Clark directly went to him. Kaxus is tall man with low hygiene and big belly .
" I heard you are looking for men to fight . " Clark asked.
" You? " Kaxus just signalled his men.

Kaxus smiled with rotten teeth.

Kaxus told some more things about arena fights.
Once you agree for fight, they can't leave unless Gargoylus say so. And they will be left far away from here, no one can get back here.
And this setup will be changed every two or three years so there is no permanent place.
" How did you keep this secret? What if someone stumble on this place accidentally." Clark asked.

" No one know this is Gargoylus place, if anyone came here accidentally, it's just home for rich merchant, no one suspects. And no escape from this place. If you are thinking of escape , just leave it. You will be dead before placing single step . "
Gargoylus has big house along with small houses, Clark guessed for his henchmen.
