Summary of chapter 2: America lashes out at Maxon. (sorry for the bad summary!)

(I don't own the characters, Kiera Cass made them! :)

America's pov:

I'm still very mad at Maxon, and i still think that Maxon is cheating on me. I've been nothing but nice to Laura, but she still doesn't

warm up to me. Maybe if Maxon's cheating on me with her, she would feel guilty, and want to stay unfriendly with me? I honestly don't

know. But, today is my day. Guess what. In the mail, Celeste sent me a very dangerous present that would possibly destroy my ankles.

Yes. 10 inch heels, and I plan to try them out, even if it hurts me, because I'm still very upset at Maxon, and if I end up in the hospital,

I won't have to see him at meetings. Hahaha…

"Mary? Would you pass me the heels?" I asked her while brushing my hair.

"Yes! Of course! But, you'll have to let me borrow them!" she joked

"You wish!" I scoffed in a joking tone.

Today is the day. I thought sarcastically. I put them on, and no kidding, they were killing my feet. And great timing! The rebel alarms!

The sound echoed in my ears.

"Mary! Go! I'll go to the safe room!" I ordered, and I was trying to balance, not being able to take my heels off, so I headed out. As I

was rounding the stairs, this made its way to my nose and I sneezed. Not holding the railing, and still 5 steps to go, but I lost my

balance, and fell down the stairs, on the marble floor. It hurt, a LOT. It felt as if my head cracked in two. Tears bit at the corners of my

eyes, but there were rebels, possibly in the castle. My life was in danger, and through the pain, I finally got the heels off, and carried

them to the safe room. My head was pounding, and I needed to lie down. It seemed like eternity until I made it to the safe room. The

urge to lie down got me taking 2 steps at a time, and funny enough, it felt as if my brain was moving too. And it's most definitely not a

pleasant feeling.

This went on for weeks, and finally, I'd had enough. My head started hurting, i rang for a maid, i don't know who, but at least i did that.

The pain was excruciating. And finally I passed out.

Laura's pov:

Someone rang for me, I heard an alarm going off on my bedside table. Darn! It was America calling for me. What in the world does she

need in the middle of the night? But then, she wouldn't call unless it was an emergency. So I went up to her room and went in, I forgot

the knocking, but who cares. I go in, and I find America… Lying on the floor? She looks dead, and I almost don't do anything, but she's

been nothing but nice to me, and I don't deserve it. Something catches my eyes, I think, they're bags under her eyes! I recall, she did

mention that she gets little to none sleep at night, and i'm worried, so i call for help, i sit in the corner cradling myself, until someone

finally comes. The doctor! Dr Ashler, She rang for me, but when I got here, she- she-" I can't get the words out.

"He does a quick check up, then he finally looks at me. "Looks like she might need neurosurgery, but I'll have to get her under an X-ray.

I stay frozen, until America's in the hospital, and because of rebel attacks, she is moved to a hospital in Claremont. No one knows

except me, Maxon, and Dr Ashler. Well, me because Maxon told me. Once he looked at America's eyes, he was really sad. I just hope

that America's going to be okay.
