They entered the castle without anyone noticing them and had a look around. Hilary felt cold because of the weather and her ragged dress didn't have anything to help her get warm. Then Arthur asked, "You afraid?" Hilary said, "No, just feeling cold and nervous." That's what she is feeling.
The boys were feeling mostly afraid and that made Emily roll her eyes. Hilary did the same and she said, "Boys, two things ok? Be. Quiet. Now stay close to us and look to the left and right and see if you can find anyone who can help us and mostly me and Penny, but is not Xanatos or his worker." Clarissa nodded her head agreeing with her.
Victoria said, "I don't trust that guy, he's not the type of person that we should trust." Nadine added, "Yeah we won't trust him, he might do the same thing that Hilary's parents did to her." Sinbad and Tiger whimpered in fright and Hilary comforted them. Then they heard a voice that said, "Who's out there? I know you're here."
This made them jump and gasp. Hilary said, "We've been discovered!" Nadine gasped, "Great balls of chocolate, run Hilary run!" Victoria added, "We'll catch up Hilary, just run while you still can. Make haste!" Hilary ran as fast as she can. Penny ran with her. The two girls ran all the outside.
The others caught up. Same for Sinbad and Tiger. Victoria and Emily said together, "That was a close one." Nadine then said, "Well we lost the person who knows we're here." Buster said, "Groovy." Clarissa then said, "Now we have to defend Hilary and Penny." Bella said, "Totally." Hilary took a deep breath and sighed.
Penny then said, "I had a funny feeling about the voice that said that it knows we're here. It sounded like a woman." Hilary wasn't sure though. She said, "To be on the safe side, I want you guys with the pets to get behind me now."
The others did what she said. To their relief though, it was a woman. The others sighed of relief and Hilary looked at Penny. She said, "Ok Penny, it looks like you were right." Penny smiled at Hilary warmly.
The woman looked at them while Sinbad sniffed her legs. Hilary felt a bit unsure though. She wasn't sure if the woman can be trusted. The woman then said to them that her name is Elisa Maza. Nadine then said that coming to the castle was Hilary's idea.
Elisa then said, "Well kids, this is no walk in the park night, someone could've seen you all. I'm a detective and I came to find out what was it all about in the castle." Hilary looked at her with suspicion.
The other girls followed her lead. Hilary then said to her, "Well we're not sure if we can trust you just as we don't trust Xanatos, he's not the type of person to trust." Elisa then grinned at the kids and said, "Don't get too hard on me since I know Hilary's backstory."
This made the kids get their eyes wide.
