So, I'm sorry I didn't post yesterday. I was kinda busy actually.

CHAPTER 3 DEMONS AND BLADES

Izuku slowly opened his eyes as he realized he was on a futon.

"Huh, I must've fallen asleep."

"Ah you're finally awake Izuku? You slept for 3 hours you know? Here have this." Tanjiro said as he handed him a cup with…something suspicious. Izuku hesitates, then gulped it down. It was surprisingly good!

"Oh and I noticed a lot of hand-shaped burn marks. You gotta tell me how you got them. I applied this cream, here catch." Tanjiro threw a small cylindrical box at Izuku who almost didn't catch it. Tanjiro continues, "This cream was made by my master. It's really effective!"

"Oh, uhh..those huh? W-well first you gotta tell me about the history of the breathing styles."Izuku hesitantly replies.

"Oooh, trying to change the topic huh ? Well you are right though, I have to fulfill my promise first. Sit up; but I'll have to warn you, it's not really a kid-friendly history and you WILL find it disturbing." Tanjiro stated.

"I-I see.." Izuku gulps.

"You're already familiar with the history of Quirks, how it all started in China where news of a light-emitting baby shook the whole world. And since then, "exceptional individuals" with superhuman powers started appearing around the globe. But, what if I told you that centuries before all that , human eating monsters- better known as Demons used to roam the world."

"W-What ? Human eating demons?" Izuku asks.

"Yes Izuku, human-eating, bone-licking demons" Tanjiro stated deadpanned. "And even if someone managed to harm them, they would just regenerate, even a lost limb. Moreover they got stronger as the humans they ate increased, unlocking the ability 'Blood Demon Arts'. The demons with those abilities were even more dangerous, you could say that they had their own Quirks."

"W-what? Like Quirks? So does that mean Quirks have evolved from those Blood Demon Arts? Does that mean we're all just the descendants of demons…mutter mutter mutter" Izuku continued to mutter until Tanjiro chopped him."Sorry"

"So, when the population of humans was dangerously low, the Demon Slayer Corps was initiated. Demon Slayers were trained. I said demons could regenerate even a lost limb right? But everything has a weakness. For demons, it's to cut their necks with the help of a katana. It's the second way to kill a demon."

"So what was the need for breathing styles? Also what's the other way to kill a demon?"

"Good questions! Well you see, demons' necks are strong, even harder than steel I might say. And as you have experienced yourself, your body strength enhances massively when you use Total Concentration Breathing. But when we use the breathing styles with the katanas, they are able to take forms. And these forms are pretty strong. And secondly, the other ways demons die is through the Sun."

"Like, the sunlight?"

"Yes, the sunlight to be precise. And that's why, the first breathing style, was The Breath of Sun. The ancestor of all the other breathing forms."

"I see"

"And so , after many decades..after a long war, demons were finally defeated. Demon slayers seized to exist, and so did the breathing styles. And that's the history of the breathing forms. It was hidden from the world because it was too disturbing. And eventually everyone forgot."

"T-That's pretty amazing! To think there was such an important history that was hidden from the world."

"Yes Izuku, now as for my past…I'll tell you about it after you've completed the phase two of your training."

"W-what! B-but you promised me!"

"It wasn't originally the part of your reward you know?" Tanjiro reminds.

Izuku actually pouted. "Fine. I'll finish the training super fast."

"That's the spirit! Now come with me."

They step out of the small house they were in. Izuku finally noticed his surroundings. He was around Pine trees, so he was on a hill; and it was hard to breathe, the air was thin.

"Here take a look at this Izuku." Tanjiro asks his pupil. He showed him a wooden sword, more like a katana.

"Look at me carefully." He then proceeds to make a stance with his katana in front of a gigantic rock. He then proceeds to say some words from his mouth but Izuku couldn't catch that.

In an instance, Tanjiro's sword was engulfed in..water waves? And he cut through that rock in a single slash. To say Izuku was astounded was an understatement.

"WOW! You were able to cut throughtthatrockwithasingleslashthat'samazinghowdidyouevendothatomgthatwassocooli…is that your quirk!? Wait.. will I be able to do it without a quirk..? "Izuku mumbled.

"Huh, that's strange. I forgot to tell you I guess."

"W-What ?"

"Firstly Izuku, that was Water Breathing First Form: Water Surface Slash. And secondly , I'm quirkless."

"Wait…..WHAT. He was able to do that without a quirkSODOESTHATMEANICANALSODOTHAT..mutter mutter mutter"

"Yes Izuku, you will be able to do it also." Tanjiro smiles as he pats Izuku's head.

"Now! As for your training, you will go up this hill and see a big sign it will probably take you around…2 hours to reach there. From there you will come back down her-"

"W-wait two hou-"

"-COME back down here, but beware of traps. There are a lot of them..and they are fatal , you could probably die if you're careless. But I'm sure you'll-"

"W-whaat? I can di-"

"YOU'LL manage. Oh and you have to do all this while holding Total Concentration Breathing! If you don't manage to come here by 8 you're not getting dinner! Now move along and good luck!"

"Waait Tanjiro-SAN" Izuku is replied with a thump of the door.

"Guess I'll start then."

Izuku proceeds to follow the instructions. He hoped it wasn't as hard as Tanjiro said it would. What could go wrong? Poor guy, I feel bad for him.

A few moments later..

"HE'S DEFINITELY TRYING TO KILL ME" Izuku concluded as he dodged a big log trying to squash him.

More moments later..

"HOW CAN SOMEONE EVEN BREATH LIKE THIS? IT'S GETTING COLDER, I'LL SERIOUSLY DIE."

Eventually..

Izuku finally reached the small house, where he left off from this training. The door opened revealing Tanjiro.

"Ah you're finally back I see. Its 8:01 though, sorry but you missed today's dinner."

Izuku felt betrayed. "Who even does that?! IT'S NOT EVEN TRAINING NOW, IT'S TORTURE. IT'S JUST 1 MINUTE, PLEASE SPARE ME."

"Just kidding, hehe~" Izuku proceeds to fainted.

"He's really something. If he does not quit after today I'm giving him my nichirin blade and another gift.[can anyone guess :) ]"

After a few hours or so..

Izuku woke up. And he was smelling something quite good.

"Oh good morning Izuku ! Or will that be good night..? Nevermind, so how did you like today's training? Would you like to continue?"

"Etto, Tanjiro-san even if I wanted to, I won't turn back now. I have to work 10 times harder than anyone else and if this is what I have to do to become a hero, so be it."Izuku stated.

"His mental strength and endurance is amazing. Guess there goes my katana."

Tanjiro pats his head "Good! And I prepared a treat for you! My sensei's famous Hot-Pot! It's super good!"

"Oh wow, it's really amazing! It seems you took a lot from Urokodaki-san sensei." Izuku said while eating.

"Yes, he was a great person.." Tanjiro responds as he recalls his memories.

"O-oh..I'm sorry.."

"It's okay kid. Now I know you have holidays so you'll be spending the rest of the month here doing the same exercise. Don't worry I already informed Inko-san."

"I-I see…"

"You'll be training with the katana as well. And when the month ends we'll be focusing on the Forms okay?"

"Hai Tanjiro-san"

I feel like I'm writing the dialogues in a rush, so please give me your opinion on this.
