Noones's POV:
Kiara was sniffing around trying to track where Kopa was at. "Hmm." Said Kiara was she moved to a rock formation. "Now I got ya." Kiara moved forward. "what? He's not here." Soon Kiara was getting pounced on by a familiar dark-furred cub. "Sorry, couldn't help my self." Said Kopa. "Nice work. How did you find me?." "Thanks. Mom's been teaching me how to track by scent. Pretty good, huh?" Said Kiara. "Yeah, pretty good." Said Kopa. "Thanks and nice tackle." Said Kiara before she and Kopa got in a tackle war.
"She's never gotten that close to finding him that quickly before." Said Simba. "Her tracking skills are improving." Said Nala. "They do seem evenly matched." Said Simba. "And that means their ready." Said Nala. "Today's the day." "Ha! Missed again." Said Kopa. "Ahem." Said Nala. "Mom! Dad!" Said Kiara. "I caught you like always." Said Kopa. "Only because I let you." Said Kiara. "Oh yeah? Are you going to let me pin you too?" Asked Kopa. "Okay, okay." Said Simba. "That's enough, you two." "I have a surprise for you." Said Nala. "You are both coming with me on the Trail to Udugu."
"The Trail to Udugu?" Asked Kiara. "Where's Udugu? I've never heard of it." Said Kopa. "Is it in the Pride Lands?" Asked Kiara. "*Chuckles* You'll see." Said Nala. "Taking the Trail to Udugu is an important part of growing up in the royal family." Said Simba. "And all royal siblings make the journey." Said Nala. "When they're ready." "Did you go on it, dad?" Asked Kiara. "I never had the chance. I don't have a brother or sister." Said Simba. "And don't worry about your Lion Guard duties, Kopa. While you're gone, I will be leading the Guard."
"You will?" Asked Kopa. "Perhaps your friends could learn a thing or two from their King." Said Simba. "Ah, sure." Said Kopa. "I know Bunga will love it." Meanwhile, in a tree, not too far from Simba, Nala, Kopa, and Kiara, a familiar vulture was eavesdropping on their conversion. "Interesting... A journey that all royal sibling take..." Said Mzingo. "I better go inform Kion. He will want to hear about this... and possibly join his siblings in their journey."
{The Outlands Termite Mounds}
Kion's POV:
"Good work, Mzingo," I said. "Zira, Tani. I'm heading off. I will see you when I get back." "Be careful about joining them on the Trail to Udugu. And come back in one peace! I don't want to see you coming back hurt!" Said Vitani. "Make sure you teach that traitor & Roar of the Elders thief a lesson!" Said Zira. "Kion, Kion, Kion. Now he's the chosen one. I should have been made the chosen one, after that little termite Kovu betrayed us, Though now that little termite goes by Kopa." Muttered Nuka. "What was that?!" I asked. "Nothing! Nothing! I was complaining about Kovu- I meant Kopa. I was just complaining about Kopa and how it might not be that good of an idea now that he has that roar you used to have." Said Nuka. "Bye. Everyone! I'll see you when I get back!" I said.
{Lion Guard Lair}
No one's POV
"Simba?" Asked Fuli. "His Royal Highness?" Asked Ono. "Leading the Lion Guard?" Asked Beshte. "Un-Bunga-lievable!" Said Bunga. "Don't get too used to him." Said Kopa. "See you when I get back from Udugu." "Good luck" Said Beshte. "Bye, Kopa." Said Bunga. "Bye." Said Fuli. "See you soon." Said Ono. "Poa!" Said Beshte. "The King and us!" "*Sighs* I'm not worried." Said Fuli. "He's just like Kopa. But bigger."
"How can you be so calm?" Asked Ono. "His Majesty could be here at any moment. *Gasps* My feathers! I need to clean up. Hapana! The whole lair's a mess!" Bunga and Fuli exchanged looks. "Relax, Ono!" Said Bunga. "I know Simba pretty well. And you've got nothing to worry about. Let me tell you what he's like."
(Insert Song: Running with the king by beau black)
Bunga:
"You know you're
in the presence of greatness
When you're running
with the King
Animals bow down
before him
Birds flutter and sing
Everyone all over
the Pride Lands
Lets you do anything
You know you're
in the presence of greatness
When you're running
with the King
Things will be so great
Hanging with lion number one
We'll live like we're kings
The big old tree of fun
Get our food for free
no need to hunt or run
The only to do is
Lie under the sun
You know you're
in the presence of greatness
When you're running
with the King
Animals bow down
before him
Birds flutter and sing
Everyone all over
the Pride Lands
Lets you do anything
You know you're
in the presence of greatness
When you're running
with the King
Maybe it's the smile
or his fabulous shiny mane
Or the way he walks that
helps his claim to fame
In the end, it doesn't matter
it's really all the same
'Cause if the King
makes Mistakes
He never takes the blame
You know you're
in the presence of greatness
When you're running
with the King
Animals bow down
before him
Birds flutter and sing
Everyone all over
the Pride Lands
Lets you anything
'Cause you know you're
in the presence of greatness
When you're running
with the King
(end of running with the King)
"Ahem." Said Simba "Oh... *Chuckles* Hey there, Simba." Said Bunga. "Um, uh, Your Highness." "Sir" Said Ono. "Your Majesty/Your Majesty." Said Beshte and Ono. "Hello Lion Guard." Said Simba. "I will admit, Bunga did get one thing right in his... Performance." "The way you walk? Your Smile?" Asked Banga "Your fabulously groomed mane?" "No." Said Simba. "I am Excited to lead the Lion Guard. Now first things first. Are we ready for morning patrol?" "Yes, sir." Said Beste. "Definitely." Said Fuli. Affirmative! Uh... Your Majesty." Said Ono. "Then let's move out." Said Simba. "Lion Guard, Follow me." "You heard him, let's go!" Said Bunga.
{With Nala, Kiara, and Kopa}
"This is Nice." Said Nala. "It's been so long since the three of us have spent some time together" "What do you think is waiting for us in Udugu?" Asked Kopa. "Maybe a bunch of animals who want to meet their future Queen and her brother, Leader of the Lion Guard." Said Kiara. "Thanks, Kiara. I like this life better than the one I used to have." Said Kopa. "Was Zira really that bad at parenting?" Asked Kiara. "Yeah, Hey wanna race?" Asked Kopa. "Sure." Said Kiara. Soon the two were racing evenly matched.
But before they could get any farther, Kiara was tackled by a Golden red-maned cub. "Miss me, Sis?" Said the Cub. "Kion?" Said Nala. "Hello, Mother. It's good to see you." Said Kion. "What are you doing here?" Asked Kopa being overprotective of Kiara. "Well, Well, Well. If it isn't the Roar of the Elders Thief. Not to mention Lion Guard Thief." Said Kion. "I didn't steal anything from you. You lost your position on the guard because you almost used the roar of the elders for evil." Said Kopa.
"I would never break my promise to dad." Said Kion. "Besides. The trail to Udugu is a journey that all royal siblings take. I may be banished from the Pridelands, but I am still a member of the royal family of Pride rock." "Fine, you can join us on the journey, but I expect you to behave." Said Kopa. "Very well, I'll behave. I don't want to be on the receiving end of the Roar of the Elders again." Said Kion. "Well, then. Now that all that is settled, come on. We have a long way to go" Said Nala as she led the three royal siblings into a gorge.
{Back with The Lion Guard and King Simba}
Simba was leading the Lion Guard when he walking came to a y in their path. Seeing as Kopa was not there, he decided to take the left path. "ah, Your Majesty?" Asked Ono. "Yes, ono" Said Simba. "Well, it's not that big of a deal but... umm." Started Ono only to interrupted. "Ono is trying to say that on morning patrol, Kopa usually goes this way as Kion did when he led the guard." Said Fuli. "Is that so?" Asked Simba.
"And is Kopa here?" "No, sir." Said Beshte. "You heard the King." Said Bunga. "We'll go this way for a change. It will be fun." "Yes, 'fun'." Said Simba.
{Back with Nala and the Royal Siblings}
"Mom, how much longer will it take to get to Udugu?" Asked Kion. "That's a tough question. Udugu isn't easy to find." Said Nala. "Don't worry, I'll find it. I'm a better tracker than you." Said Kiara getting a growl from Kion. "We'll see about that, you snobbish brat!" Said Kion angrily. Soon Kion and Kiara were off trying to outdo each other. "You really think you can find Udugu before me?" Asked Kion. "Just watch me." Said Kiara.
"Kion, Kiara, be careful!" Shouted Nala and Kopa in unison. Kion and Kiara gasped as they went over a cliff. Nala and Kopa appeared over the ledge. "I got you." Said Nala as she helped Kion and Kiara back up to safety. "Thanks." Said Kiara. "Thanks, mom." Said Kion. "I almost died and it was all your fault. If you had gotten over your Kion is worthless attitude this wouldn't have happened." "Whoa, I never thought that about you." Said Kiara.
"During the time when I lived in the Pride Lands, you've done nothing but berate, mock, and insult my existence like I mean nothing to you." Said Kion. "K-Kion? Did I really treat you that bad?" Asked Kiara. "Yeah, you did. It's not like you've changed any." Said Kion. "That is definitely not the way to find Udugu." Said Nala glaring disappointedly at Kion and Kiara.
{With King Simba and the Lion Guard}
"Hapana! Everyone, look! A-" Started Ono only to be interrupted. "A mudslide! Straight ahead!" Said Simba. "Uh, yes, sire." Said Ono. "And the mud's heading right for-" "The Ostridge herd's nest!" Said Simba. "If we don't move fast, the mud will sweep the eggs off the cliff!" "Affirmative. I was just about to say that." Said Ono. "We'll Have to act fast." Said Simba. "I'll move the log, so it diverts the mud away from the nest!" "What should we do?" Asked Fuli. "Just stick together and follow me." Said Simba. "Just stick together and follow him?" Said Fuli confused. "That's what he said" Said Bunga. "And he is the King" Said Beshte.
the lion guard began to follow Simba. "This way, Lion Guard! Jump from rock to rock" Shouted Simba. "uh, jump from rock to rock?" Asked Beshte. Usually, Kopa has me run through the mud." "Yeah, but Kopa is not in charge right now" Said Fuli. "Simba is" "Lion Guard, come on!" Said Simba. "And it sounds like he really wants us to follow him." Said Bunga. "Just try your best?" Said Ono in a questioning tone. "Okay. here goes." Said Beshte as he began to jump from rock to rock. "Twende Kiboko!-" Suddenly Beshte slipped and began to slide down on his back on the sliding mud.
one by one each member of the Lion Guard was caught in the sliding mud by Beshte, meanwhile, King Simba was putting the log into place. "There, that should do the trick." Said Simba. "Now, let's continue our patrol. Lion Guard, Follow me." the Lion Guard was getting really close to the log. "We're going to hit the log!" Panicked Ono. "Lion Guard, the log!" Shouted Simba. "It's rolling towards the nest!" "I'll grab the eggs!" Said Fuli as she attempted to get to the eggs only to fall forward. "There's too much mud. I can't fly." Said Ono as he struggled. "I got this." Said Beshte. After a little trial and error the Guard and Simba saved the eggs.
{Back with Nala and the Royal Siblings}
"Is this really the trail to Udugu?" Asked Kopa unsure. "It is." Said Nala. "If you tell us where Udugu is, I bet I could find an easier path." Said Kiara. "There is no easy path to Udugu. But there a way to get through all these thorns without a scratch." Said Nala as she lifted a thorny branch to help the cubs get through "See?" Kopa, Kiara, and Kion all ran under the branch into a small circular clearing.
"Yeah, I could crawl under the branches to get through the thorns." Said Kion as he did as he said unaffected by the thorns as he was used Life in the outlands. Living with Zira's Pride in the outlands Kion had gained thick fur and hard skin in order to survive. "*chuckles* Of course not. Helping each other through the thorns is the way to go. Right, Kiara?" Said Kopa. "That's right Kopa. come on let's do this" Said Kiara. Kopa and Kiara began helping each other through the thorns.
"At least Kopa and Kiara are understanding me." Said Nala. "I hope they make it" Soon the three cubs were at the tree "Mom/Mom" Shouted Kopa and Kiara in unison. Kion started climbing the tree. before his siblings knew it he was at a high branch. "I can't see her." Said Kion. "How are we going to find her?" Asked Kiara and Kopa. "Now they are all truly on the path to Udugu." Said Nala before slinking off.
{Back with Simba and the Lion Guard}
"That was so exciting. Your first rescue with the King." Said Simba. "I wonder what our next challenge will be. Well, let's go, Lion Guard." "At least he's not mad at us for almost losing that egg." Said Beshte. "Why should he be? It's not your fault you can't jump like a Lion." Said Fuli. "What's the point of being a team if we're all gonna do the same thing?" "Fuli, he's the King! He's got to know what he's doing." Said Bunga. "Doesn't he?" "Maybe we just need to do it more Simba's way?" Said Beshte. "Everyone! Everyone!" Shouted Ono. The gazelles..." "The Gazelles need our help!" Said Simba. "Lion Guard, follow me!" "*Sighs* That's what I was going to say." Said Ono.
{Back with the Royal Siblings}
"Mom?" Shouted Kiara in unsure worried tone. "Mom!" Shouted Kopa. "*Grunts* No side of mom on my side? have you two found anything?" "Nothing on my side either." Said Kopa. "Kion?" "Nothing over here." Said Kion coming out of some bushes a few feet ahead of Kiara and Kopa. "*Sighs softly* How could just disappear?" Asked Kiara. "Mom!" "We'll find her." Said Kion unconcerned. "We just have to keep looking." Said Kopa. "And you could show at least a little concern." "Fine. Try, your side again, Kopa." Said Kion. "I tried my side. If She was there I'd have seen her." Said Kopa.
"I know, I just..." Said Kiara "I can't find her either." Commented Kion. "If we knew where this Udugu place was, maybe we could meet her there." Said Kopa. "Or we could track her." Said Kiara. "Great Idea sis!" Said Kopa. "*Sniffing* Got her!" Said Kiara. "She went this way. Come on!" The three siblings went forward through a bush that hadn't been checked yet. "Kiara, Kopa, Look! Pawprints." Said Kion. "They look fresh. Said Kopa. "We must be getting close." "Come on!" Said Kiara leading her brothers to where the pawprints ended. "What? They just stop right here?" Said Kiara confused. "Hevi Kabisa! Where did mom go?" Shouted Kopa in confusion. Kion however noticed a ledge that his siblings haven't noticed yet though he remained silent.
{Back with Simba and the Lion Guard}
"The Gazelles are just over the next ridge." Said Simba. "There!" "Swala and the other gazelles must be looking for a route up to that grassland." Said Ono. "But those rocks..." "They're unstable." Said Simba. "The rocks will fall if the gazelles jump on them. Lion Guard Follow me!" "Should we remind him how easily gazelles spook when they're surprised?" Asked Beshte. "No! Simba knows what he's doing. It will be fine." Said Bunga as he and the rest of the Lion Guard followed Simba.
"What's that?" Questioned Swalla. "Something's coming!" "Somethings coming!" Chanted Swalla's herd as they and their leader ran up the slope of unstable rocks spooked by the lion guard. "They're spooked. Now, we really need to hurry." Said Simba. "Lion Guard, Follow me" soon the rocks started to collapse "Everyone, stop! The rocks are collapsing!" Shouted Ono. "Ono, warn Simba!" Said Fuli. "Affirmative!" Said Ono. ono flew toward the collapsing rock slope to warn Simba. When ono arrived he was too late.
"*Gasps* Oh, no! Simba!" Shouted Ono. "Your Majesty? Simba!" as the smoke cleared Simba turned out to be ok. "*Coughing* Good to see you, Ono." Said Simba. "Your Majesty!" Said ono. "Everyone, he's over here." "Are you all right?" asked Beshte. "I'm ok. just a little stuck." Said Simba.
{Back with the Royal Siblings}
"This can't be right." Said Kiara. "Mom couldn't just disappear." "I don't get it. We followed her trail." Said Kopa. " I know right? How could it just end?" Said Kiara. "Maybe-" Started Kopa only to be interrupted by Kion. "It doesn't end right here. It never did." Said Kion. "There's a ledge and a trail. Mom jumped up there." "*chuckles* Then we will too." Said Kiara. "Ready? One, two, three!" Shouted Kopa as he and Kiara attempted to jump up onto the ledge. "Not even close." Said Kiara.
"If mom could get up there, we can too." Said Kion. "Mom is twice our size, Kion." Said Kiara. "How can we keep tracking her if we can't jump up?" Asked Kopa. "I got it! I'll give you a boost, then you can keep tracking her." Said Kiara. "but what about you?" Asked Kopa. "One of us has to boost the other, and the truth is..." Said Kiara. "You're the better tracker." "I won't argue that" Said Kopa. "Though Kion is the one who saw the tracks and figured out mom jumped before I did."
"I was waiting for you two to catch on for yourselves." Said Kion. "So we make a good team. "And That's how we'll find Mom, by working together." Said Kopa. "You could use your plan that involves boosting each other... or you could follow my plan." Said Kion. "there are parts of the cliff that we could jump and work our way up to the top of the ledge together." Kopa and Kiara blinked before glancing at where Kion was gesturing and saw that he was indeed correct.
"We'll go with your plan Kion." Said Kiara. "Very well. Now up we go." Said Kion as he leads his siblings on the rock like platforms jumping their way to the top of the ledge. Kion finished jumping and was already on the ledge. "whoa!" Said Kiara as she missed and was about to fall "I got you! Hang on." Said Kion as he grabbed Kiara by the scruff of her neck and pulled her to the top of the ledge. "Just a little closer. I think I'm going to make it" Said Kopa. "Yes!" "We did it!" Said Kiara.
"We all made it!" Said Kopa. Kopa and Kiara then looked up and Nala. "*Gasps* I don't believe it!/*Gasps* I don't believe it!" Said Kopa and Kiara in unison. "Hello, Kiara, Kopa, Kion." Said Nala. "Mom, why did you disappear?" Said Kiara. "Yeah, I thought you were gonna show us the way to Udugu." Said Kopa. "actually, I think you've already found Udugu." Said Nala. "We have?" Asked Kiara. "Is it this big rock we had to scale to reach you?" Asked Kopa. "No Kopa." Said Nala. "Come on down, Kiara, Kopa, Kion, and I'll explain" "Uh, okay." Said Kion. Nala then Jumped down followed by the royal Siblings. "You see, kids, Udugu isn't a place. Udugu is another word for Kinship. It's the special bond between siblings." Said Nala. "You, found Udugu when you decided to work together to look for me." "We did?" Asked Kopa. "Yes. And i am very proud of you all."
{Back with Simba and the Lion Guard}
"Un-Bunga-lievable." Said Bunga. "You're one lucky lion. You could have gotten smushed." "Don't Worry, Your Majesty. We'll get you free" Said Beshte. *Ostriches Screaming* "That sounds like..." Said Ono. "Ostriches!" Said Simba. Ono took off before spotting what the situation is and swooping back down "*gasps* Hapana!" Said Ono "It's... *mutter nervously* "Well, It's what?" Asked Simba.
"Sorry. I thought you were going to say it." Sadi Ono. "The gazelles! They're stampeding straight for the ostriches and their nest!" "Bad to be an Ostrich egg" Commented Fuli. "Your Majesty, what do we do?" You have to stop the gazelles." Said Simba. "And leave you here?" Asked Bunga. "I'll be fine. you need to hurry." Said Simba. Suddenly a boulder fell from a rock pillar. "Everyone, heads up!" Said Ono. "*gasps before grunting form an impact* Whew! Thanks, Fuli." Said Bunga. "Thank Ono.
he saw the boulder." Said Fuli. "We all try to do what we do best." Said Ono. "That's why we're a great team." Said Beshte. "That is why, isn't it?" Commented Simba to himself. "We can't leave Simba here. It's not safe." Said Fuli. "But he told us to go after the gazelles." Said Beshte. "Lion Guard! All-day I've been telling you to follow me and do what I do." Said Simba. "But that's not how your team works. So tell me. If Kopa were here, how would you handle this?" "We'd Split up. Ono and I would go after the herd. Beshte and Bunga would stay to free you." Said Fuli. "Then those are my Orders." Said Simba. "Wait, wait, wait!" Said Bunga. "There's one, one more thing Kopa would do, right? It was the same thing Kion used to do." "Until the Pride Lands end..." Said Simba. "Lion Guard defend!" Shouted the Lion Guard.
{Later, At Pride Rock}
"So, everyone, how was your journey?" Asked Simba. "Did you find Udugu?" "We found it." Said Kiara. "But it's not really a place." Said Kopa. "it's about the Kinship between Siblings. strengthing the special bond between them and working together as a team." Said Kiara. "We had a third royal sibling join us on the trail to Udugu..." Said Nala. "You aren't saying what I think you're saying... He didn't... did Kion actually joined you?" Asked Simba.
"Yes, dad.. Kion did join us on our journey to the trail to Ududgu... He said I treated him like trash... that I was a horrible sister to him during his life here in the Pride Lands... And he doesn't believe I've changed since then." Said Kiara. "Anyways... How did things go with the Guard?" Asked Kopa. "Well, in a way, The guard helped me find Udugu too." Said Simba. "It's an important lesson." Said Nala.
"It is, especially for you two... I'm glad Kion found Udugu too. Perhaps there is still some of the original Kion that I knew when he was still Wema and Tunu's age... Yes... Nala and I met Jasiri and her clan after we adopted him as your brother Kiara. As Queen of the Pride Lands and Leader of the Lion Guard, someday you will be responsible for all of this." Said Simba. "So hold on to what you learned today. Then you'll always have Udugu.
{The Outlands Termite Mounds}
Kion's POV:
"Zira! Vitani! Nuka! I'm back from that trail to Udugu!" I shouted as I approached the entrance to a large chamber full of lionesses, at the back near an old rotting tree stump was Nuka and Vitani. I decided to go over to the stump. As I approached Vitani and Nuka, the pair turned from their argument to look at me. "Kion your back!" Said Vitani. "Great he's back... Why didn't he get himself killed by that little Roar of The Elders thief on their journey." Said Nuka under his breath.
"What was that Nuka? I Couldn't hear what you were saying do to you talking under your breath. Were you hoping I had gotten myself killed?" I asked Nuka. "What? No... no way.. uh-uh... I was just wondering when mother would get in here so we can talk about your journey more appropriately." Said Nuka. "I'm right here Nuka. So tell me Kion... how did your journey to the trail to Udugu go?" Asked Zira from behind me.
"It was worth it... I gave them 'hope' that there is still some of the me Kiara, Nala, and Simba knew that existed before I met Vitani. And that hope will be their undoing. Udugu isn't a place... Udugu is the 'special' bond between Siblings. Look out Kiara, Simba, Kopa, and Nala... The 'special' bond between siblings that has been 'formed' between me, Kiara, and Kopa will tear your world apart. And then... the Pride Lands will belong to the new royal family!" I Said before releasing a sinister left that made both Nuka, and Zira back away from me as Vitani actually joined in with me.
