Chapter 3: The Super Fan Slumber Party
One hot 4th Saturday of May 2021, I met my childhood friends Sarah, James, and Henri at Pittsburgh's Perfect Parties client Grace Luster's house in Cheswick for her Super Fan Slumber Party. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my friends. "Hi, Angel!" Sarah greeted back. While we ate cobb salad and potatoes as well as snacks and dips for lunch and dinner, we worked on 2 Childhood Chats. The room was decorated with speech bubbles, posters, and even a slideshow of Angel Kitty. The room was decorated in black and gold, and there were pictures of an angel and a kitty cat, as well as some hearts, on the center table. We began with Body Parts Identifier, which James helped supervise, as we had to identify which body parts belonged to me, the lead singer. It was a 3-way tie between Grace, Hailey, and Zoe, so we needed a tie-breaker of some kind. As part of the tie-breaker, Zoe navigated her way from Ross Township to downtown Pittsburgh, Hailey navigated her way from Hampton Township to East Liberty, and Grace navigated her way from McCandless to Shadyside. "Can I play, too?" Ella asked. "This game sounds like a lot of fun!" "I don't see why not," I stated. "Here, you can navigate your way from Shaler Township to the South Side!" Grace ended up winning the tie-breaker game. Then, it was dinner time. I helped serve pizza with the works from Pizza Care, Sarah helped serve homemade chicken tendere, James helped serve homemade Potato Patch fries, and Henri helped serve homemade brownie sundaes. "I wish that Pizza Hut was still open," James stated. "I am talking about the place where we had my birthday dinner." "I miss that place, too, James," Sarah agreed. "Especially since Pizza Care is miles away from Grace's house!" "The Brownie Sundaes look tasty," Henri stated, licking his lips. "They look like they are from Glen's Frozen Custard down the road." "I didn't know that there used to be a Pizza Hut here, guys," Grace stated. "If there was, I must have been really little." "Well, you learn something new every day, Grace," Sarah pointed out. "I also got my car at the car dealer a few blocks down the street," James added. After dinner, the girls played more games, which were Fill-in-the-Blank and Alphabet Scavenger Hunt. Emily won the former game, but her team lost at the latter, as they were not fast enough. We closed the evening with some activities like dancing to our music, Cover Songs, and Fan Art. "What a creative idea," Sarah remarked as she noticed a "Pittsburgh Proud" slogan on one of the Angel Kitty signs. "Black and gold are our city's colors, all right!" "What if we used all black to create the signs, Sarah?" Grace asked. "Then, it would remind us of the day where we had to wear all black clothes to blend into an all-black environment," Sarah pointed out. "If you girls created signs like that in real life, then it would be very boring and very hard to read," James added. "We really like your music, Angel," Grace told me. "I wonder if you guys got inspired by Santana to make all of these songs because I really think that you could become the next Carlos Santana!" "Well, Santana just plays the guitar, Grace," I explained. "There are a lot of singers that he works with, however, like Tina Turner, Michelle Branch, Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez, Rob Thomas, and our personal favorite, Chad Kroeger of Nickelback." Around midnight, ACCESS took us back to our hotel in Harmarville. "Thanks for a great day, everyone!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Sarah replied. "Good night, guys!" "Good night!"
