Mikage watched the merman look at her, then himself. "Do you understand? It's not going to work out." There wasn't anything she could but let him down. As intriguing as he was, it wasn't like she had been looking for a relationship in the first place.

But instead of seeming upset or angry, it was more like he had an epiphany. He grinned widely with his sharp teeth before lurching forward and planting his lips on hers. She blinked in surprised then attempted to push him away, but he had moved on his own before she could touch him, for he had jumped back into the water, splashing her.

"Now what are you up to?" she sighed, looking into the water where he jumped in. Did he have to keep kissing her? It really wasn't that she was really bother too much by the act itself, but more the suddenness of it. As well as the awkwardness. He seemed to enjoy them, but had he ever kissed anyone before? She had never kissed anyone before herself, but the way he did it made it seem like he was even more inexperienced than she was. Or maybe that's just how his kind did it.

About fifteen had minutes had passed since he plunged back into the water, and she was beginning to wonder if he was coming back.

"Hello...?" She called out, suddenly realizing she had nothing to call him by. Did he have a name? Would he be able to tell her? While she pondered this, her thoughts were suddenly interrupted by the merman's clicking. "Huh?" She snapped back to reality to see her looking up at her with a smile on his face. "You came back. I thought you left for the day." Then she noticed something was off about him. What was it? Then it hit her. His face was missing his fishy features. "What were you doing down there?" she asked inquisitivly.

He grinned at her, his teeth still sharp but only half as much. He seemed proud, but of what exactly? She was about to find out.

He grabbed ahold of the dock, and pulled himself, revealing his arms and torso were also less fishy. She quickly realized from there that he had somehow turned his body human. Which also meant if he continued out of the water she'd be staring at a very naked human male body. Unfortunately, she realized just a little too late and he was already out of the water. But fortunately as well, he had sat in front of her in a way that conveniently covered himself with his limbs. However, that didn't stop her from looking away with a slight blush. "Oh," was all she could manage to say.

"So..." she started, glancing at from the corner of her eye, making sure to only look at his top half. "You got legs. This a normal thing for your kind, or you figure this out specially for me?"

He began answering in his clicking and Mikage realized this must be a sort of language like her Japanese was. Meaning this transformation wasn't going to fix their communication issue, which could be a problem if he was so bent on being with her. Strange since he seemed to understand her Japanese just fine; he just couldn't speak it.

She shook her head, then looked straight at him and put her hand on her chest. "My name is Mikage." She then moved her hand to gesture towards him. "Do you have a name? Or something I can call you?"

He looked slightly affronted that she cut him off, but since he realized she wouldn't had understood that anyways, he didn't get angry and simply shook his head with a look of slight annoyance.

"Really?" Was this a culture thing or a him thing? "I suppose I could come up with something." Though she was better at coming up with random insult names than real ones, and even those weren't great. "So...is this normal?" She gestured his now legs. "A nod or shake is fine." Instead of either, he lifted his hand and rotated it back and forth slightly. "Kinda?" He nodded. "What do you mean?" She paused a bit, thinking. "It's something that can be done, but not commonly done?" He nodded. "Have you done it before?" Shake. "Is that why it took fifteen minutes?" He responded with a growl. "I'll take that as a yes." Slightly amused, she stood and attempted to fix her still damp hair.

Thinking she was going to leave him there, he attempted to stand himself, but he lost his balance and fell into the water. Mikage looked back at the sound of the slash and saw him climbing out again.

Mikage sighed, "You've definitely never done this before," she mumbled as she helped him up again and kept him steady. He was certainly not going back to the ocean of his own accord, not after forcing himself to have legs. Speaking of his new legs and the items between them. "We need to get you some clothes..."
