Will

I awoke with a jolt, the sun had not yet risen. I had fallen asleep outside my tent. While yes it was for good reason it was still VERY risky to sleep out here. I SHOULD have set up my spare tent. These tents were made by my older sister, who is a child of Hecate. She placed charms on these tents that hide Godly presence from monsters. For a few hours there I was basically a free lunch for any Manticore to wander up to and take a bite out of. In a rush I set up my spare tent, but I ended up waking Gina with all the noise I was making in the process.

"Um... are you ok?" She asked me, looking half awake, "I'm sorry I can just leave so you don't have to set up that other tent."

"With an injured ankle?" I replied, "In the middle of the night? No you get back to sleep, I'll be fine out here,"

"But..."

"No buts! You need to rest and stay off that foot. We can discuss things in the morning, OK? Now go get some sleep."

She sighed and went back into the tent. I then started to work on my tent some more when suddenly she joined me.

"At least let me help you with this," She said, "My ankle isn't THAT bad. I just tripped earlier that's all."

At that point I just let out a sigh and let her help. She seemed pretty good at this actually, the tent looked far neater then when I set them up. Before I could thank her she went back into the tent I set up and fell asleep. I was gonna insist she take the one that she helped with, as it was frankly more stable, but I didn;t have the energy to do that and I just went to bed myself.

Gina

The next morning came along. I was about to get ready to leave when I felt something land on me. I looked to see a packet of Poptarts sliding off of my side and onto the tent floor. I picked it up and went out of the tend to see that Will guy already up and seemingly full of energy.

"Hey Gina," He said waving at me, "I wanted to thank you for helping with the tent last night. Sorry you had to stay in the piece of crap one I made myself."

"It's fine," I said, "You helped me out after all, it would be rude to not return the favor."

"So, do you want to talk about why you REALLY left the camp?"

"No actually I REALLY don't want to talk about it."

"Alright then, it was worth a shot. So then where are you going?"

"I...I um...Well..."

It just then dawned on me that I really had no plan. I left the camp on an impulse. No luggage, no home to go to, absolutely nothing.

"Yeesh," Will said, scratching the back of his dead, "No plans at all?"

"I have plans," I lied, "I just don't want to talk about them either, ok?"

"Your still really bad at lying. How about I take you to the town to get you a place to stay. A place safer than a tent in the middle of a wide open field."

I tried to think of a way to argue against him, but once again I couldn't. I let him lead me to the town nearby. He took me to an Inn where he seemed to know the girl at the front desk. I stood back while he did the talking, not waning to mess anything up by trying to join in.

"Alright," The lady said, "Gina you're room is 2-H. So to the second floor and it is the fourth door to your left."

I bowed politely and went up the stairs without a word. I then noticed Will was following me.

"I can find my room myself you know," I said

"Actually I got a room here too," He said showing me a key, "2-I right across from yours"

"Oh, ok."

"But hey after we get comfortable I can help you get some clothes for your little journey, I see you don't exactly have a suit case with you here and I doubt you want to keep wearing that Camp Halfblood T-Shirt for the entire trip."

"Why are you helping me so much? We just met, and I barely have done anything for you in return? There is NO reason to help me."

"Do I need a reason to help someone?"

I'll admit I blushed a little at that statement, but then I heard from behind us;

"Stop stealing lines from Final Fantasy you nerd!"Yelled out the lady from the front desk.

"Sis come on it was too perfect to use there!" Will yelled back earnestly, "And it's how I really feel on the matter anyways!"

"Sure it is." She said with s scoff, "Well when you get settled in you guys should come to the cafeteria for breakfast."

"Not Interested." He said, holding a hand to his forehead in some emo looking pose

"WHAT DID I JUST SAY?!"

I don;t know what came over me but I just started laughing. It had been so long since I laughed like , I didn't even laugh like this during my time dating Rob. I know in hindsight it's not that funny, but those two were just so earnest, and Will was so freaking cringy I couldn't help but laugh at it. Soon the lady joined in on the laughing and Will just pouted.

"Geez," Will said with his arms folded, "You guys having fun there."

"Oh yeah," The lady said, "Hehehe, Say Gina it's nice to meet you, my name's Juniper, but you can call me June."

"It's... It's nice to meet you too June," I replied

"Would YOU like to come to the cafeteria for a proper breakfast?" June asked, "Not just Pop-Tarts?"

"Yes please!"
