Author Notes: Hope you all enjoy the latest chapter! Got a bit more action with it and getting more plot as we are seeing Detriot and what things are the same and what are different. May see more in the next part!
Transform and Try Not to Screw This Up! - Part Two of Three
No matter what universe, the Allspark cannot stay hidden for long.
Just so happens a space bridge repair team led by Sentinel Prime found the Allspark in this universe.
Then they were attacked by Megatron and his elite soldiers, crashed and in stasis for 50 stellar cycles only to wake up on a world where there are organics.
Sentinel might be living his worst nightmare and the universe might be slightly a bit more screwed.
Back at the Academy, Sentinel would daydream of all the action he would get into once he officially joined the Elite Guards. He would be fighting the good fight, defending the weak against the evil of the universe—fighting waves of Decepticons to save the day. It would be a great adventure every orbital cycle.
The occasional daydream would be of him defeating Megatron.
But even Sentinel knew that wasn't possible. Pits, they even have a training simulation that had cadets fighting the warlord. He didn't do so great in that one.
Not like Optimus.
But this wasn't some silly fantasy. This was reality, and Megatron had broken through the hull of The Orion.
Fear charged through his body to stare up at the imposing form of the Decepticon leader, to have those cruel red optics focus on him. Primus, didn't want to know what was going through the Con's processor, what he was planning to do with them if he got his dirty servos on the Allspark.
Then came a colossal explosion.
He didn't know where it came from, but it didn't matter in the end. The force of the explosion caused the whole ship to a downward spin. He stumbled, and the Skyboom Shield fell out of his servos. Smoke and dust filled the space, blocking Sentinel's vision as he scattered to get his shield back. The Orion's systems rang the alarms as it attempted to seal the hull and put out the fires from the explosion blast.
But couldn't do much for their current situation.
"We're going down!" shouted Gauge. She gripped tightly onto the stirring control, trying in some attempt to avoid crashing into well…anything.
"Well, don't let us!" yelled Sentinel back, one servo use to get him back onto his pedes.
"I didn't plan to!" she responded. Sentinel would need to have faith the crazy femme knew what she was doing.
The fact he considered it only proved how insane everything had become.
Gauge seemed to hold out enough as they skimmed through the asteroid field until they came out of it. Still going out of control, Sentinel stared out into the expandanse of space, he could make out where their pilot was aiming.
Too bad, it wasn't going to work.
"When I ordered to head to the nearest space bridge, I thought you had enough sense to pick one that was activate!"
"Look! How was I supposed to know!"
"I don't know! Look at the slagging scanners!?"
"Both of ya clamp up! Shouting isn't going to help us out of his problems!" shouted Ratchet.
"Oh, and what do you suggest!?" snapped back Sentinel.
No one answered the question as the entire of The Orion suddenly found itself to be glowing. Glowing like back at the space bridge, the same glow that led them to...
The Allspark.
The trio on the bridge could only watch a beam of light shoot out from their ship right at the space bridge. Whatever it was doing, it turned the portal on and without a moment's notice, and they went on right through.
Sentinel had travelled through the space bridges before. He was leading a slagging repair crew. Why wouldn't he?
But this trip was nothing like he felt before. It felt so strange, almost like he was floating outside of his body. As soon as it started, it was over.
They fell out of transwarp and floated along.
No more falling into doom.
Moaning, Sentinel lifted himself up and looked around. Ha! They made it somewhat in one piece. The force of the trip had thrown Ratchet and Gauge around, but both appeared to be alive. Ok, that was good, very good.
"What was that?"
He turned his head around and found Prowl struggling to stand up in the doorway. He should be glad that another crew member had survived, but that doesn't what comes out of his mouth first.
"Prowl, I thought I ordered you to stay-"
He didn't get a chance to finish. Not when Prowl's face shifted into one of horror. Then he felt something grab ahold of his shoulder and slam him into one of the consoles. Pain and panic surge through his systems as Sentinel looked up at who had a hold of him.
Oh, Primus…He forgot about Megatron.
No, he had hoped that the explosion took care of the Con. That maybe he was lucky for once his life that something wasn't going to end in a disaster. But no, nothing ever worked out in his favour. Even with one arm destroyed, Megatron still gets one over Sentinel given his monstrous size over the smaller Autobot.
Ready to crush his neck at a moment's notice if he didn't get what he came aboard for.
"Where is the Allspark?" hissed Megatron, applying more pressure. The young Autobot grunted in pain as he could hear his armour crack under it.
Sentinel hated himself for a moment, that he wanted to say where it was.
But with the aid of his crew, he didn't get the chance.
Ratchet and Prowl had the nerves to charge at the warlord. Not that it did much as Megatron merely swap them away like mere pests with his half-broken frame. Primus, even with only one workable hand, they couldn't do anything!
"Foolish Autobots, you only delay the inevitable."
"Artificial gravity - disabled."
Feeling the gravity of the room change, Sentinel blink for a moment as he looked to see the smug face of Gauge, using her magnetic gloves to keep one servo stirring but the other on the anti-gravity button. Everything paused for a moment as he felt weightless come into effect. If he was feeling it, then Megatron had too.
Sentinel kicked Megatron away and floated his way through the ship. Ok, this was good, this was good, he could work with this. Grabbing on a piece of metal hanging from the ceiling, Sentinel managed not to float away. If only he could manage to get ahold of his shield. It was floating off the ground and so close…if he could grab it…
"Hey! Who turned off the-"
"Sorry, my bad."
As Sentinel managed to grab his shield, the two Book Camp rejects finally made their appearance. He should have known those two would have poked their heads into trouble. It was his luck after all. He watched Bumblebee get bumped by Bulkhead, and the minibot crashed his way into Megatron.
Ah, slag…maybe he would keep his mouth shut?
"You know what? You're even uglier from this angle."
Slag it! Sentinel knew better than to hope Bumblebee couldn't keep himself out of trouble. Now he had to save him before the Decepticon sliced him up into mini-minibot pieces.
"You bots want to stay alive, you better follow my ord-" said Sentinel, only to be cut off by Prowl zooming by into his own attack. "What the slag, Prowl!"
As much as it angered him, Sentinel couldn't help but admit the ninja had some skills. He used some fancy decoy to distract the Con and slice the rest of his arm to anchor himself into the ceiling in the weightlessness. Yes, he could use this.
That is until Bulkhead crashed into him and sent him flying through the air as well.
"Slag it! Can't you bots do anything right!? Why can't you listen to me! Or say a warning like-"
"Incoming!"
Using the remains of Megatron's arm, Ratchet caught it with his electromagnets to throw it back at the Con. But the medic didn't realize what his actions would cause. The look of horror on his face made that clear.
"Gauge!"
The force of the attack knocked Megatron backwards and crash into the stirring console. Where Gauge was. The femme cried out as the giant Con crush her against the console, forcing her to release her control of the ship.
Now they were going into a freefall.
Sentinel let out a yelp as he was sent flying through his ship, crashing into the walls and boxes until he came to a stop. The gravity had to come back on as he felt his weight return to him. Moaning, he made some attempt to sit up only to be forced back down. There above him stood Megatron, his foot resting on Sentinel's chest plate.
"I tire of this," hissed the warlord. "Where's the Allspark? Tell me, and I may spare your sparks."
That had to be a lie. No one could trust a Decepticon. They were dead no matter if Sentinel said anything or not. The lack of an answer didn't seem to make Megatron too happy. The Decepticon held up his greatsword, and Sentinel would have been dead if it wasn't for his shield.
The two clashed, and now the ex-Academy student found himself under pressure to hold back the growing amount of stress Megatron kept on his blade. He couldn't keep this up. He couldn't hold up his shield forever. Maybe one of the lug-heads would finally come and-
And then the Allspark decided to glow.
Megatron turned his attention away from killing Sentinel and stalked towards the ancient relic with his goal in sight. That couldn't happen. Sentinel felt his processor working overtime to come up with some kind of plan. What would Ultra Magnus do? Elita? Optimus?!
Any one of them would have come up with a better plan than what he decided on.
He threw some spare piece of rubble to the docking tunnel control panel.
It work! It caused the docking tunnel to extend itself and opened itself to space outside The Orion, allowing the vacuum of space started to suck them in.
So it wasn't Megatron that was going to kill him; it was his stupidity.
Not that he would say that. Nope.
With the suction, Sentinel screamed his throat raw and struggled to keep his aft inside the ship. Clawing at anything to get a grip as he got closer and closer to the docking tunnel. Megatron already was pulled in, and Sentinel would have followed on after him if his hand hadn't grabbed ahold of the door frame.
Turning his head around, Sentinel looked on in shock and fear as Megatron was still here. The look of hate and anger as the Decepticon crawled his way back up the docking tunnel. Inch by inch, he tried to get back to safety.
If anyone asked Sentinel what happened next, he would claim his quick processing power, and Academy training saved the day.
Not the fact he was scared out of his mind, and he reacted by screaming in terror. Sentinel threw his shield at Megatron. The Decepticon didn't see that coming as it whacked him in the face and sent him roaring in rage into the atmosphere of whatever world they were crashing into.
Then the shield ricocheted from the hit and was sent flying back inside. Sentinel ducked underneath and watched it bounce around the cargo bay until it become embedded in the docking tunnel control panel. That cause the tunnel to close behind the Prime.
Ok, that was lucky…
Getting onto his peds, Sentinel stared at where once there was the fable Decepticon warlord. He survived! He actually survived and beat back Megatron. A wide grin spread across his face as he couldn't help but let out a giggle. Take that Ultra Magnus! He actually fought back and won. How many Autobots could claim they fought against Megatron and walked away with their lives!? Not only could he claim that but that he actually defeated him! Slag, maybe he even killed the Con. How many could survive being shoved out of a spaceship and crashing into the planet? Either way, Megatron was gone and Sentinel was the one that did it. He did what even Ultra Magnus couldn't do!
But Sentinel couldn't take a moment to enjoy his victory asThe Orion's alarms took to blaring. He rushed back to the bridge to hear Teletran-1 warning that they were going to crash. There was only one thing they could do now.
"Everyone! Get your afts to the stasis pods!"
The two rejects and ninja didn't need too much prodding to get to the pods. The only laggers were Ratchet and Gauge. The old medic seemed to struggle with the brat to get away from the controls.
"Gauge, move it!"
"Not until I get The Orion pass this city!" she yelled. "He isn't going down like this!"
What did it matter if they crash into a city or not? Why wasn't Ratchet ripping her away from the stirring? Why in hell were they both attach to an old, rusted ship?! Sentinel didn't understand as they could rebuild what was destroyed, or it didn't matter since it wasn't a Cybertorian colony. But it seems the two Bots that came attached to the ship didn't seem to be in the same frame of mind.
"Ratchet! Gauge!" he shouted from the doorway. "Get into the pods! That's an order!"
Neither responded. The medic stood there and allowed his charge to steer the ship through the sector, avoiding crashing the ship.
Why doesn't anyone listen to him!
As he was about to rip away and put them into the pods himself, Gauge managed to accomplished what she wanted to do. Whatever it was, Sentinel didn't care. The only thing that matter was that they got into the pods before they crashed. He wasn't going to ruin his record if his crew got themselves killed cause of some idiot reasoning.
Even as the lid of the stasis pod closed down on him, Sentinel's final thoughts before going into stasis lock were what had he done wrong in his life to be cursed with such horror luck.
Why did Primus hate him so much?
"Back in the early 20th century, Detriot was known as the Motor City, the world's leading automobile manufacturer. Today, Detriot is once again the leading manufacturer-"
Boring, boring, boring…
Sari let out a huff as she turned her head to look at the window. How could she not when it was a sunny day. Spring was finally here with the warm sun, tiny flower buds popping up, and people going outside to have some fun.
It made staying inside and listening to her stupid tutorbot even worst!
Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if her dad would let her go to school like normal kids? But no. Just cause she was the daughter of one of the richest men in the city of hell, even the planet, she couldn't have a normal life. She was forced to stay inside for the rest of her life. The only interaction she would have is her dad, his employees and all the robots.
Like Tutorbot.
She was stuck listening to it drone on and on while her dad was off on another school tour. It wasn't fair. She wasn't some little kid that needed protection or someone to watch her 24/7. Sari could handle herself pretty well. She was almost a teenager! Most of the time, she had to remind her dad to eat something when he got stuck in his lab for hours at a time.
Sighing, Sari's attention drifted around the room and not on her school work. She had to come with her dad to work today but couldn't hang around with him. Was forced to stay in her office with Tutorbot and Sparkplug for the afternoon…
…wait…
Sparkplug!
Sari turned to her little pet robot dog asleep next to her with a grin and a plan for mischief. Giving him a light tap, the robodog online his eyes and looked up at his owner. She grinned as she held up her key card in front of him.
"Let's play keep away."
Pulling into the Burger Bot parking lot, Captain Carmine Fanzone swore that Sue would kill him if she found out about this. He had a good salad that she prepared for lunch. He was supposed to watch what he ate and do more exercise since his blood pressure was way up at his last check-up.
But he could only handle so much lettuce.
He needed something that was fried.
That lead him to drive up to the Burger Bot drive-thru and rolling down his window to order.
"Welcome to Burger Bot. May I take your order?"
"Yeah, I want a Big Bot Burger combo 3 with large fries and add on one of those apple pies."
"Ok, so a Beyond burger with water?"
"What! No!" said Fanzone. "Big Bot Burger Combo 3!"
"3 Bitty Bot kid meals?"
"No! Big! Bot! Burger! Combo!"
"Ok, one Big Bot Burger Combo!"
"Yes, finally," sighed Fanzone. Damn intercom. For all the advances in tech and they still couldn't build a fast-food drive-thru that you could talk clearly through.
"Ok, that will be $10.37."
As the intercom transformed into its robot food delivery form, Fanzone had expected to see his food on the tray. No, it wasn't there. The only thing that came to him was a hose that started to spray cola all right into his face.
"Ack! Turn it off!" he cried out. He held up his hands and tried to block the spray but failing to do so. It sprayed all over him and inside his car, drenching everything.
"Have a burgerific day," the robot drone on as the cola spray finally stopped.
Wiping the cola from his eyes, Fanzone growled at the Burger Bot drive-thru. "This is why I hate machines..."
Then his police radio decided to come alive, "Red Alert! Red Alert! All units report to Sumdac Robot Plant on Muro."
And there goes his lunch break.
Walking up from stasis felt like coming online after a luna cycle of bar hopping and chugging back the engex. Sentinel moaned and stubble out of his pod as he tried to grab some sense of the situation.
"How long were we out for?" he grumbled.
"And what's with the alarm?" asked Bumblebee.
"Nothing good," said Ratchet.
"Perhaps it has something to do with-"
Whatever Prowl had notice crawl into their ship, it attacked and latched itself onto his arm. Sentinel felt his system freeze as he watched it crawl, oozing over the ninja's arm. Oh, Primus! It was disgusting! It wasn't from Cybertron at all!
"What the slag is that!" demand Sentinel, backing away from whatever the goo was.
With a snort, Ratchet caught whatever it was in one of his magnetic force fields. "Young bots, frighten of anything that isn't nuts and bolts."
"I wasn't scared!"
"Don't care," said Ratchet. He dropped the mass of goo into one of their sample containers, "Well, whatever this stuff is, it has some circuits along with something else."
"Like machine-eating acid?!"
"Is the big, strong Academy bot scared of a little organic lifeform?" tease Bumblebee, leaning towards the cowering Sentinel.
"No! Of course not!" explain Sentinel, trying to cover his behind. "But dealing with anything organics is against regulation. We should chuck it back outside where it belongs. Yes! In fact, I order you to do that," said Sentinel. Glupping down his fear, he had to maintain some kind of control over his unruly crew. He was the one in charge here.
"Perhaps before we do that, we see where this…thing came from," suggested Prowl. He walked over to the console and typed away at the controls. "Teletran-1, can you scan the area?"
With the launch of Sky Spy to view what was happening around them, Sentinel found himself disgusted with what it had uncovered.
There was a giant creature that gave him flashbacks to Archa Seven. Clearly to Sentinel, it was organic. It was in some battle with the local lifeforms. Its long tentacles were lashing out and grabbing poor bots and dragging them into its flesh.
It was the stuff of nightmares!
He wanted to get into an oil bath just from the mere sight of it all.
"Looks like they could use some help," said Bumblebee.
"What? No, not our problem," said Sentinel, waving his hands in protest. "We don't even know if the Decepticons are still around. It is best to stay here until the Elite Guard gives us the say-so."
"But isn't it part of the Autobot Code to help?" asked Bulkhead. "They could use a servo right now."
"Yeah, Mr. Academy," said Bumblebee as he stood on his peds and took to jabbing his finger into Sentinel's chest, right on his Autobrand. "Don't you want to help the little guys? Be the big boss bot?"
Whacking the hand away, Sentinel glared down at the minibot.
Bumblebee didn't look away as he matched Sentinel with his own glare. No, there's no way he was going to let the minibot dictate what they did. He was the captain of this ship, and his word was law. But to see the looks of the others, the disappointment and judgement on their faces.
It reminded him too much of Elita and Optimus.
"Fine! We'll help them out," said Sentinel, throwing his arms into the air. "But we need to blend in. We can't have the Decepticons find us again."
He reached over and press a button on the console, "Teletran-1, scan the locals."
Sky Spy didn't need too much time to scan and upload the local's forms into the mainframe. When the reformating chamber popped up, Sentinel entered first and let it do its job. The feeling of the additions and adjusting to his frame always made Sentinel feel strange. While it only last ticks, he still felt disgusting as he stepped out of the chamber.
Why did they have to change their alt forms to blend in? He never understood the need for it, but it was part of the code when dealing with worlds that weren't part of the Autobot Commonwealth.
Once they all gotten their new alt modes, Sentinel knew it was time to get this done and over.
"Alright, Bots, transform and roll out!"
To enter in his new alt mode, it felt so strange not to have his treads anymore. To have his whole body weight on the support of four wheels felt so weird. He moved back and forth, this feeling even worst. So wrong and strange.
"Primus, this is ridiculous."
"I don't know. I think this is pretty sweet," said Bumblebee, adding a red light to the top of his roof.
"It's roomy!" added Bulkhead.
"There is a certain appeal to this form that I like," said Prowl.
"I like the decals. It's sort of like etchings that you wouldn't let me get Ratchet," said Gauge, twisting herself around to inspect the shield decals on her doors.
"Over my cold dead protoform," snorted Ratchet. "No way would I let you get one of those tacky armour decals."
"No fun."
"Enough of the chatter, let's get this done and over with," growled Sentinel.
"No need to tell me twice," said Bumblebee. With that, the yellow minibot zipped his way out of the room and towards the exit. Bulkhead followed soon after, along with Prowl taking up the rear.
Gauge would have followed suit if Ratchet hadn't blocked the doorway.
"Ratchet! What I want to go and-"
"Not a chance, you don't have any weapon or strong enough armour, like the others. Those magnetic gloves are only good up close, and there's no way am I lettin' you touch that thing. It's absorbing everything it comes in contact with," said Ratchet. "You're going to stay put and help me analyze the sample to figure what the slag this stuff is."
"What? No fair!" protested Gauge, shifting back and forth on her new tires. "Sentinel, can't you-"
"He's right," said Sentinel as much as it pains him. "You'll be in the way out there. Best to stay here and try not to cause any trouble."
He didn't have any more time to listen to the femme whining. Driving his way out of The Orion, Sentinel firm up his processor with the slag he was getting himself into this time. It wasn't his idea of a fun time to go into a fight against some gross organic lifeform.
And hoping he could get out of said trouble.
When he got the call to come to the Sumdac Factory, Fanzone knew it would be one of those days. A month doesn't go by without some disaster from Sumdac Systems. The man might be a genius, but he sure doesn't have a lot of common sense. The same would be said about some of his lead scientists as well.
Fanzone still had nightmares of the damn flobsters.
What made this whole situation worst was when Sumdac Systems had a disaster like this, which means they had to call the bigger guns.
MECH
That met, he had to deal with Bishop.
Seeing the familiar blue and white humvee roll up with the several other military vehicles had Fanzone's stomach dropped. All the cars but the humvee had the Military Emergency Control Help symbol pasted onto their doors. To see the smug face of Bishop as he stepped out of the humvee and walked over to him made Fanzone want to punch him right square in the face.
"Gotten over your head again, Carmine?" asked Bishop. Both men were equal in height and built, so for once, Fanzone couldn't use his size to lord over the army commander. Also didn't help that Fanzone was still soaked and stick with cola while Bishop looked like the picture of professionalism with his black military outfit and buzzcut grey hair.
"I have everything under control."
"Of course you did," said Bishop. He turned around and motion for his soldiers to move in.
As much as it pained Fanzone to admit it -really, really, REALLY hated it- but he might be over his head and be glad for the assist. Bishop and his MECH unit had better weapons to take down whatever mechanical mayhem Sumdac and his scientists created. Most of the time, they had the solution to whatever it was.
But most of the problems cause by Sumdac System had been robotic.
Never had they face something that was both robot and organic.
To watch missiles fired by Bishop's men and get absorbed by the giant monster creature didn't give Fanzone much confidence that they could stop it.
"What is that thing?" asked Bishop, with a rare look of confusion on his stern face.
"Sumdac said it was some experiment with nanobots, bonded with a damn bug and now some kind of blob."
"I see…Best to call everyone back. We will use our drone units to distract the monster until we come up with a more solid plan."
"I knew that," snapped Fanzone. He was about to when Bishop showed up with his cocky ass. "All units, fall back! We will be switching to unmanned drones!"
In the craziness of getting all their men out of the area of the nanobot monster, no one seemed to notice four vehicles rolling out of the water.
That there was a motorcycle without a driver.
One of the vehicles was a SWAT truck in a different paint job.
Or that the other two were both Fanzone and Bishop's vehicles that they just drove off with mere minutes ago.
