Groaning, I woke up from all the racket the pitiful human girls were making outside of our dorm and sat up in bed to rub the sleep from my eyes. The hunger hit instantaneously like it always did every morning, so I reached over and placed a couple blood tablets into the awaiting glass of water and drank it quickly in order to sate the thirst and get on with my morning.

When I was finished, I left it on the night stand for a maid to clean up as I headed into my bathroom. Some perks of being so close with Kaname is that I had my own room which also allowed me to have my own bathroom as well.

See, when I first started attending the academy, other vampires immediately started picking on me because of the lower-class smell of my blood but Kaname quickly put an end to that using his status and informed everyone of my self-acquired nobility status. Since then everyone has treated me with the same respect one would of the other B-class vampires. Everyone except Ruka of course. She's always had it out for me and uses every opportunity to try and hurt me emotionally or mentally but all it did was fuel the entertainment I developed over bullying her just as badly.

And because of her obvious ate for me, she and I could never sleep in the same room togeterh unless someone wished for a bloodbath. Thus, Rima had to room with the obsessive blonde and I had a room to myself because Kaname wished it.

Finishing my shower I got changed into the Night Class uniform before letting my hair fall from the bun I had on my head since I didn't wash it on nights before class to save time. I was looking in my compact and putting finishing touches on my light bit of makeup when Kaname and Takuma came up behind me. "You don't need to use make up, TT." Kaname says, "You are naturally beautiful on your own."

"Astonishingly beautiful." Takuma agrees.

"Thank you both." I say, "But I do this for myself more than anything else. I find myself more attractive this way."

We walked down the stairs together and held our heads up high as all the lower vampires around us bowed in respect.

Walking outside, the gates opened as we got closer and we see Yuki standing alone in astonishment before turning behind her and seeing that the girls were standing respectfully off to the side. I almost giggled but that would ruin the look of superiority every vampire had developed on our walks into the school.

"Good morning, ladies. I heard you. You're as perky and cute as ever." Aidou Hanabusa starts. "Hi!"

"Hanabusa." Akatsuki says in warning to his cousin.

"So what? You're so stiff, Akatsuki."

When he started doing finger guns, I rolled my eyes and sighed as I followed Kaname to where Yuki sat on the ground.

I watched the exchange between Kaname trying to get Yuki to lighten up and Yuki trying to maintain a professional distance with the audience of fangirls were around.

"Don't worry about it. It was so long ago….."Kaname says as he touches her hair affectionately. I was about to coo and tease Yuki when Zero's hand shot out and yanked Kaname's off of Yuki's face.

"Zero." Yuki and I say out loud, one in surprise, one excitedly.

"Class is starting, Kuran." He says to the male vampire.

"What a scary Disciplinary Committee member." Kaname says before while walking off towards the rest of the waiting Night Class.

It was silent for a beat before a couple girls ran up to Kaname and gave him a beautiful red rose and a gift.

In annoyance Zero yelled at some nearby girls, "Just hurry up and go back to your dorms, all of you! Always raising such a racket."

I watched as I slowly followed Kaname and the rest of the class to the school. The two of us waited for Seiren to appear before handing her the objects in Kaname's hands.

In class everyone went to their seats to get the night over with so we could go back home. Kaname in his "Throne at the side of the class facing the door with his back angled slightly toward the windows behind him. Myself sitting at a desk in front of him with Aidou to my right and Ruka in front of me.

"That Kiryu really irritates me." Aidou says while doodling in his notebook. "Who does he think he is! Grabbing Dorm President Kuran by the arm like that!"

"Oh, you sound like someone in love." Ruka says as she stands and reaches for the notebook for a look.

"As if!" the boy shouts at her. "If I could, I'd like to kill that Disciplinary Committee member with my own hands!"

I almost told him to watch his mouth when it came to Zero when Shiki spoke up about Yuki, drawing everyone's attention to him.

It was eerily quiet as everyone realized Shiki said the wrong thing around their Lord while hungry, then Ruka had to be nosey. "You seem awfully interested in her, Lord Kaname." She states hoping for answers, or for him to deny it.

"I guess you could say that." Was the response she got from him instead.

I smiled evilly at her but she paid me no mind as her eyes stayed focused on her love the entire time, her hand holding the book dropping down from its upward position, the book stabbing its owner in the hand.

"Oww, oww….Oww!" I grinned as I watched Aidou's face showed his pain and agitation. "Ruka, I'll kill you!"

"The moon is going into hiding." Kaname says, gaining everyone's undivided attention. "Right. From now, it's our time. It is the "night of vampires." His words resonated in our hearts as we simultaneously flashed pour glowing red eyes.

After a while I grew bored and looked to Kaname for permission to leave the class. I knew he would nod in permission no matter what I asked because of our friendship and trust but that trust is precisely why I ask. He still is a pureblood I follow whole heartedly, and we can't show others that a pureblood would give in so easily to a lesser vampire's whims. I'm sure he appreciated the show of dedication even though it is unnecessary.

Once outside, I walked around aimlessly and wondered whether I should look for Zero and bother him or wait until Aidou and Akutsuki find some Day Class girls and do something stupid.

I didn't have to make a decision because Zero found me as I had gotten comfortable on a tree branch to let my mind wander.

"What are you doing out of class Vampire?" He asks as he came out of the shadows and stood below the tree branch I resided, looking up at me with hate.

"That's not very nice Zero, you know I hate when you speak so hatefully. Please say my name." I responded in a sad tone.

"I have no reason to be friendly, Johnson."

"I have given you no reason to hate me specifically, Zero."

We looked at each other at a stand still until I moved to jump down. "I have always wanted a good relationship with you, like I do Yuki." I say as I slid off the branch, Zero moved back watching me as I landed and fell back on my ass.

"You're not very graceful for a vampire." He points out not moving to help me up, purposely being rude.

I just laugh it off not at all shocked or upset by his lack of manners. "I'm definitely not like other vampires. I'm one of a kind."

"Kuran seems to think so." He glares down at me as I stand up and brush dirt off my skirt. "Since he treats you better than any of his followers. Are you his lover?"

I choked, not expecting that question at all since Kaname and I gave no one the indication we were pursuing one another, but I also didn't want to lie to Zero. Lying would probably make him hate me more and trust me less than being angry at the true answer and hopefully moving past it.

"We are not lovers, but we have come together a couple times…for various reasons." I answer shyly, not really meeting his gaze. "I'd rather not talk about it right now. We're just friends and that's all we'll ever be." But still more than you and I.

"You sound disappointed." He says with disgust.

I laugh a little, "No, not at all. I'd actually like to pursue someone else but they aren't interested."

I can see the slight curiosity in his eyes as he tried to hide it because who wouldn't be curious about the person a vampire you unwillingly grew up with has taken an interest in? He opened his mouth, I wasn't sure if it was to ask who it was or to tell me another insult but we were interrupted by Zero's thirst.

His eyes flashed for a second before he started to lose breath, clutching at his throat. I looked at him in pity as I watched him struggle with the thirst for the substance that creatures he hated most desired. I knew he would deny my blood but I offered it anyway. "Zero, I know you hate the idea, but you can have some of my blood. It will ease the pain. Please?" I asked as I stepped closer to him but he swung his arm at me.

"I don't want your blood! I don't need it!" He choked out before calming down and clearing his throat. "It's prohibited to drink blood on campus, Vampire."

Right back to being called vampire huh?

"It's prohibited to drink human blood on campus. And as you so nicely stated, I'm not human." I said in annoyance before I calmed down myself. "Drinking my blood won't affect the stage of vampirism you're in, Zero. It'll only help with the pain for a short time."

I started to walk away when I heard him click his teeth behind me. I turned back to say goodbyes before heading back to class. "See you later, Zero."

The next night was the same as always, except this time Zero wouldn't meet my eyes during crossover. Kaname noticed and took my arm in his hand to pull me slightly closer and place his hand on my lower back in comfort. Little did we know, Zero saw this and scoffed, remembering me telling him that there was nothing between Kaname and I.

I was able to get permission from Kaname to leave again since I told him something was going to happen tonight. He told me to watch over Yuki for him until he arrived.

I stood in the tree branches and watched Yuki try to deal with Aidou and his cousin. The moment Yuki dropped her staff to pull herself away from the playboy I jumped down from my hiding spot.

"I want more, Can I take some from your neck?"

"Aidou, release her immediately." I said with authority.

"I don't need to listen to YOU, Johnson." The blonde scoffed. "You have no authority over me. In fact, I believe I have the authority over you since I was born into my status while you fought tooth and nail." He says with his eyes glowing. I lung at him, unsure of whether to attack him or grab for Yuki. In the spur of the moment my body acted on it's own and I reached for Yuki, pulling her out of his grasp just as Zero showed up and shoved his gun into Aidou's back.

"Sucking blood in school grounds is strictly forbidden." Zero goes into a spew of the rules for vampires. "Have you gone mad from the smell of blood, you vampire?"

"Zero!" Yuki tries to stop him but I hold her back until Aidou said something incredibly stupid.

"But I've already tasted it." He says.

When I heard it, I became outraged and lunged at him again. With my palm out I slapped him across the face as hard as I could, I didn't have any powers to do any real damage but Kaname wouldn't appreciate me hurting his pawns anyway.

The same second my hand connected and made a slapping sound, Zero had pulled the trigger of his gun. The sound resonating in the trees.

I looked behind me to see Yuki holding Zero's arm up, our of range of Aidou and I.

"You can't shoot him, you idiot! What if you hit Rin?!" She shouted at him.

"Will you put down that Bloody Rose gun?" Kaname asks as he approaches us from the trees. "To us, that's very threatening."

When he walked up, he separated Aidou and I. Wrapping an arm around my shoulders protectively and placing an authoritive hand on Aidou's back. "I'll take this fool and we'll wait for the Headmaster's punishment. Is that ok, Zero?"

The boy in question huffed, "Take them, Kuran."

With a nod, Kaname then turned to Akatsuki, "Why didn't you stop Aidou? You're just as guilty." When he got no response he addressed the both of them. "I'm sure Serenity was here to try and keep you both out of trouble. Why didn't you listen to her? Or protect her from the gun fire for that matter? She is precious to me and if anything were to have happened to her, you would be severely punished." One vampire let out a sigh while the other made an angry face at the news that I was important to his Lord.

"Now as for these two who fainted…..", Kaname continues, "I'll erase tonight's memory, then take them to the Headmaster's office. Is that ok?"

"Oh…all right. Thank you!" Yuki says appreciatively.

"I'm sorry he scared you, Yuki." Kaname tells her apologetically.

"Oh no, it was just a little bite…." She tries to brush it off.

"No, it's not ok Yuki." I say agrily as I gently take her hand and examine the bite mark his tooth made. That wasn't the best idea since the second I saw it I grew angry and shot a glare in the offender's direction ready to pick a fight like a child when Yuki's hand was taken from mine.

"Let's go." Says Zero as he drags her away from us creatures of the night.

Kaname watched the two of them until they were out of sight before turning to me and placed a hand on my face. "Are you alright, Serenity?" he asks concerned. "This is the first time you've seen an anti-vampire weapon right?"

"I'm fine, Kaname." I answer while leaning into his touch. "Thank you for your concern."

"Hey hey hey! Don't address Lord Kaname so informally, you!" Aidou accused but was shut down by his Lord.

"It is what I wish for her to do as my close, precious, childhood friend." Kaname interrupts, "And as far as I'm concerned, she has more authority than anyone else in the Night Class in my eyes. Do remember that, Aidou."

"Y-yes, Kaname-sama." Aidou response in a bow.

We walked in silence as Kaname lead us to the dorms, arm wrapped around my waist, and the other two trailing behind us. Aidou eyeing me the entire way and Akatsuki not giving two shits about my relationship with the Pureblood.

Walking inside, I headed straight to my room to shower and ready myself for bed. After changing into a light green silk camisole and matching silk capri pajama pants, I left my hair soaked as I descended the staircase to get a glass of water to set beside my bed for the day when I found Aidou and Akatsuki lounging in the sitting area.

"Suspended for ten days….but, Yuki's blood was worth it." I heard the dumb genius say.

"Dorm President Kuran will get upset if you keep saying such things." Akatsuki warned.

Fine with me! Surviving on the Blood Tablet alone isn't good enough for me. Her blood was irresistible…..so I…."

I felt Kaname behind me before he touched my shoulder to show his presence, pushing me forward with him as he beelined for the idiot, slapping him in the face.

"So you?" Kaname asked rhetorically.

"Oh,s-sorry." Aidou had the sense to look ashamed at what he said.

Kaname lead me away to the kitchen after. He got a glass and filled it with water as I stood and watched before moving to grab a glass for myself. My friend stopped me with a light touch, "This is for you." He informed me as I headed out and I followed.

When we came to the sitting area again, we saw Aidou fighting with his cousin about something or other when they took notice of us and quieted.

"Such beautiful green eyes." Kaname says suddenly and stops to brush the damp hair out of my face before touching my face again. "Come to my room. Allow me dry your hair before bed as I'd like your company tonight." I could hear the sound of shock come from Aidou before I slowly nodded. Kaname smiled pleased with my answer, before gently grabbing my hand and leading me up the stairs to his room. I knew nothing would happen but it was still embarrassing that he was so affectionate in front of other vampires, giving a lot of them the impression that I got my status because of Kaname's romantic affections more than anything else. That's probably a big reason no one gives me as much respect as they should given my status.

When we were in his room he lead me to his bathroom and sat me on a stool as he searched for my second blow-dryer that he insisted on keeping in his room for this very reason. He caressed my locks as he dried them when he was finished he directed me to sit on his bed as he sat in his chair and opened a book. I knew I would be there a while before he dismissed me so I grabbed another book from his night stand and began to read. Soon it was late in the day and I had fallen asleep over his covers and he left me there as he rested in his armchair. About mid-day I woke to Kaname looking at me with red eyes. He must be upset about something to forgo drinking the blood tablets and wanting actual blood and I wasn't about to deny him. Not that I ever would anyway. I leaned my head to the side giving him access to my neck as he leaned over me and wrapped his arm under and around my back to keep me in place. I smelt my blood as his vangs pierced my skin and knew the others would wake up and smell it too. It was going to be an interesting night in class later for sure and I tried to ignore any thoughts other than the joy I would feel rubbing it in Ruka's face if she brought it up.
