Ellie took her time warming up the bottle. She helped Casey get comfortable holding the bottle before going to get a onesie. When she came back the baby had drunk the entire bottle. Ellie changed him into a diaper and a sleeper, before handing him back to Casey.

"Why would someone abandon a newborn?" Casey adjusted him.

"I don't…." Ellie stopped as something clicked into place.

"What?"

"He's blind."

"How do you know?"

"It's really bright here, Clara usually closes her eyes and hides her face against Devon or I. He is not doing anything to try to hide his face. He doesn't react or focus on objects coming close but he reacts to sounds."

Casey sat up with him, making sure the blanket was over the little boy the best he could tell.

"You're a natural."

Casey shrugged, and kissed the baby's head. An hour later, DFS arrived at the apartment and started taking information from Casey and Ellie. Chuck along with Awesome had come back from the store and work and were puzzled by what they walked into.

"Wonder what's going on Bro?" Awesome asked

Chuck looked around seeing John with a newborn in his arms by the fountain.

"The fact John's holding a newborn baby maybe?"

As they walked up to him, Chuck asked,

"John, what's going on? Is Ellie okay?"

"Ellie's okay. Someone left this little guy outside here. I heard them running as I opened the door for some fresh air. Ellie is inside her apartment talking to DFS and the police." Casey whispered, as the infant was asleep.

Ellie came outside.

"John, they are ready to take him."

"What's going to happen to him?" Chuck asked.

"Taking him to a group home." the worker said.

"Group home? Why not a foster family?"

"It's late, also not many foster families are set up for the blind."

Chuck couldn't believe Casey was taking this much interest in a baby until he saw his face. Chuck could see something in Casey's eyes that looked like understanding. Casey nodded, looking defeated, handing the baby to the woman. He turned, not saying anything, and walked over to the chair he had been sitting in.

"Ellie, can you take the groceries to our place?"

"Sure Chuck, I think he bonded too much with him." She said looking at Casey.

Chuck nodded.

Ellie went over to Casey's and Chuck's apartment. Chuck turned and watched Casey, he walked toward the woman.

"Miss…."

"Mrs. Tobias."

"Can I talk to my husband about fostering him?"

"Be quick."

Chuck nodded, and walked over to John, sitting beside him taking his hand.

"So foster care uh?"

"From the time I was 2 until I was seventeen and went into the Marines. Mom and dad died." Casey looked down.

"Are you sure you want to do this?"

"Yes, you wouldn't believe all the shit I went through. It would be a thousand times worse for a blind child. Please Chuck? I need him, and he needs us more." Casey wiped a tear from his eye."

"Okay let's do it." Chuck kissed him.

They both got up, walking over to Mrs. Tobias.

"What's the verdict?"

"We'll take him." They both smiled.

She smiled.

"I'll have an adoption lawyer to get in touch with you. After a year, if we can't find his biological parents. The two of you will be able adopt him."

"Can we name him?" Chuck asked.

"Yeah." Tobias said.

After filling out the paperwork, Chuck helped Casey sign everything Everybody went home Casey had hardly let go of the baby. Chuck sat beside him,

"What are you thinking name wise?" Chuck asked.

"I always wanted Carter for a name. Carter was my dad's first or middle I don't remember my mom's."

"I like it."

"I was thinking of Stephen for his first."

They heard a sob come behind them. Chuck looked seeing Ellie starting to cry. Ellie walked over to them hugging Casey around the neck.

"He's a keeper Chuck. If you ever let him go, he's mine."

"What about Awesome? I'm not letting him go."

"So I'm guessing Stephen Carter Bartowski is the one?"

"Yes!" Both Bartowski yelled.

Casey chuckled. Chuck kissed him, and Ellie kissed his cheek.

"I'll let you guys have some time alone." Ellie whispered.

"What about baby stuff? We don't have anything." Chuck asked.

"We will go tomorrow." Casey said.

"I'll go with you guys if you two want me too."

"Thanks Ellie." Chuck smiled.

"I better get back to Claire and Devon." Ellie left.

Ellie brought over some more formula and diapers, she left them to let them get used to being the three of them.
