It had been a week since Bella had seen the mystery man. She had ran into another squad from Victoria, a three-person group but she had handled it herself. Luckily none of them were gifted so it was easier. She must have made more minions. Yay….

Every day had been sunny so she didn't have to worry about protecting herself than at least. Bella had taken up sleeping all morning and early afternoon so she was rested and ready for when night time came.

She also began switching hotels daily and covering her scent with heavy perfumes. In midafternoon when she was awake and the sun was still up she would search for him, her metal man. Every night she would dream of him. Bella didn't know what was going on but she felt drawn to him. Pulled to him. The pain in his eyes haunting her sleep. She wanted to take it away.

It had rained lightly most of the day so Bella knew her scent had been washed away from the area. She decided to stay inside tonight. I mean, people running for their lives deserved time off too right? She sat on the edge of her bed with a book reading. The tv and radio were never turned on, she wanted to be able to hear if someone was trying to get into her room.

It was about one in the morning when she heard bangs and glass shattering from outside somewhere. Bella ran to the window but stood slightly behind the curtain where she couldn't be seen. Her eyes darting all over the place until she heard another bang drawing her eyes upwards and across the street. There! It was her mystery man running across a roof top while another man in a jacket with some sort of shield in his hand ran straight through the building below. The other used his shield to bust down doors and jump through windows, that was him making the noise. Something about the shield seemed familiar but she couldn't quite remember where she had seen it before.

Metal arm jumped from roof top to roof top making a circle til he had somehow stopped on top of her hotel. Bella opened her window and leaned out looking up. She could see him on the edge like he was about to jump off.

She knew he was running from the other guy so she tried to get his attention. "PSSSSSSSST hey!" She shouted quietly. Bella saw his eyes glance down to her quickly, his head cocking to the side. She waved him down. "Hide here."

His eyes darted up wards catching the shield that was thrown at him. The only reason she knew this was because she saw a glimpse of it over the edge of the roof as he had spun tossing it back. Then suddenly he was jumping down to where she was. Bella quickly moved back inside while holding the window open as wide as she could.

He ran inside and closed the window than grabbed her and ran from the window hiding. They could almost hear the footsteps as the other looked around. After about ten minutes they heard the footsteps getting further and further away.

His hand relaxing and letting go of Bella. She turned to look at him. "Are you alright?" She asked quietly

His eyes remained hard this time. The glaze not lifting. It was like whatever was done to him before was stronger this time. He didn't speak, he didn't move. Just stood slightly glaring at her like a robot. Bella reached up to touch his face but he quickly grabbed her by the wrist.

"Don't" He said. His voice harder as well.

"Sorry. I just wanted to make sure you were okay." She whispered.

"Why?" He paused. "Why help?"

"You saved my life twice now. And you let me help you once before, a week ago. You had a fever."

Bella saw his eyes dart back and forth almost like he was trying to search his memory.

Did whatever was done with him effect his memory to? Who would do such a thing?

"I…."

"It's okay if you don't remember." She said hoping it would calm him. "Just know that you did. I'm alive because of you. Thank you for that. I want to help you if I can, when I can if you let me again. I do owe you after all." She smiled softly to him and noticed his shoulders relax slightly.

He nodded his head but his eyes widened and he looked back at her. He stared a moment before he whispered. "Bella?"

"Yes!" She said happily.

His eyes were still glazed but he had remembered her name at least.

"I only remember your name." He stared into her eyes. "And eyes."

"I'm just glad you remember that."

He nodded once again but then walked around her headed to the window. He opened it and began to crawl out.

"Can I know your name before you leave?"

He stopped half way out the window and looked back at her. He still wore his mask this time with black smudged around his eyes making the blue stand out. They almost glowed in the dark, so bright and beautiful it made Bella's breath hitch.

"I don't remember it." He said before leaving. In a blink he was gone.

Bella looked out the window but couldn't see him anywhere.

"What the hell is he? A ninja?!"
