The car ride turns out to be quiet, the only noise coming from the twin's headphones and the music from Edward's stereo. When the car parks the twins are gone. Running up to the office to get their schedules.
"Excuse me… " Allissa asks shyly as the front desk woman shifts through her folders. The middle-aged receptionist turns to the voice, a look of surprise enters her eyes, but she quickly hides it.
"Yes dear?" the woman asks.
"We're here for our schedules. Last name swan, first names' are gonna start with an A." Alex intervenes. Glaring at the woman. Alex could feel her emotions faintly but Allissa felt every flicker of feeling in the room stab into her chest like a knife. The receptionist was feeling surprised, annoyed, and overall disgusted by the twins.
'She probably thinks we're trouble makers.' Allissa snickers. Alex looks down at his sister with a crooked smile.
'Isn't that the aim of the game?' he states. She shrugs, interlocking their fingers together.
"Allissa and alexander?" the receptionist asks.
The twin's nod in sync.
"Here you are, you two. You need to get these slips signed by all your teachers and handed in by the end of the day." the two nod in understanding both feeling the woman's unease.
"And here are your maps, have a good day you two!" the two nod again, both giving smiles, before walking out of the office.
'Do we share classes?' Allissa asks. Alex nods showing her their schedules.
'Algebra 2 first period, English second, art third. Chemistry before lunch, lunch, government, and gym.' Alex sighs.
'At least we have all the same classes.' Allissa comforts him, yet Allissa is stiff, feeling all the toxic and heightened energy flood into her system as they step into the halls of forks high.
Alex quickly finds their lockers with ease, stopping so she can have a break. He turns to her.
'Remember what we practiced, focus on me, stay calm, cool, and collected.' he reminds her, giving her hand a small squeeze. She takes a deep inhale, focusing in on herself and him, before giving a hesitant nod. Just as they return down the halls to building five they're stopped by a preppy-looking male.
"Hi, your the swan twins right? Allissa and alexander?" the teenager asks. They nod, he gives a dazed smile, fascination, intrigue. Overall easy emotions to handle they both deduce.
"Cool…" he whispers, more so eyeing Alissa, 'infatuation' they both picked up. Alex scowls at the unnamed teen.
"Cool." the teen coughs focusing back on alexander.
"I'm Eric. Eric Yorkie. Your sister Bella is a friend of mine." Eric rambles. Allissa stays blank-faced. her brother shrugs.
"That's nice. She doesn't talk about us does she?" he asks. Allissa sighs at her twin's mind games. Alex was playing the self-conscious card to gain information on how Bella acts without them. Based on his answers they could probably get a clear analysis on if this boy was worth talking to.
"Nah, to be honest, we all didn't know you two existed until word got around about the chief having his youngest visit." eric laughs awkwardly. Allissa scoffs, it was clear to her that Bella wouldn't be very close to this boy if she didn't even bother mentioning them.
'You're disappointed..' Alex states, continuing his conversation with eric, the boy was discussing the school paper, he knew allissa wouldn't mind answering a few questions about themselves just for the satisfaction of blending in.
'Of course, I am. This guy is useless outside of gossip.' Allissa sighs.
'Clearly, but remember the bigger picture Lissa. Our job is to blend. Be somewhat normal. Get through high school, go to college, move through life together, grow old together and die.' Alex reminds her. She looks over at him with her lashes, giving him a small laugh under her breath.
'I sound like you don't I?' Alex groans inside his mind.
'Yes, you do.'
"Well, here you two are! I'll see you guys at lunch to talk about the article?" Eric asks. The two nod and wave to Eric as he walks away.
'Ready to start the boring life of high school?' she snickers.
'I'm more ready to raise a little hell.' he communicates. She sends him a scowl.
'All within reason of course.' he raises his hands in defense.
