CHAPTER 2 - Lightning Bolt

Lightning Bolt - The bolt of lightning is a traditional symbol of sudden illumination and the destruction of ignorance; it also represents a punishment of humans by the gods from the skies

The Polo game was going on in full force. Led by Edward Cullen. He was the captain of his blue 4-player team as he was facing Demetri's red team. In any Polo game, the game is played on horseback between two teams of four players each who use mallets with long, flexible handles to drive a wooden ball down a grass field and between two goalposts. It is the oldest of equestrian sports. Edward was chasing after the ball when a loud booming rumble of thunder filled the field. Everyone jumped in fear as the winds picked up with the thunder. A loud crack of lightning hit the field, as a lightning bolt came down just as Edward was about to hit the ball. Edward's horse, Colt, lifted on its back legs in fear, nearly rocking Edward off his horse, as he held on.

Bella appeared just as the lightning bolt left. Bella's eyes locked with what was the most handsome young man she has ever seen. His dark eyes bore into her soul, along with the mallet about to strike her head. Bella's hands flew up to protect herself, residual electric strikes flew from her hands, sending Edward flying off his horse and to the ground. Bella fell to her knees as she felt power drained from her. Her hands pressed into the still smoking and fiery corn circle symbol that appeared when she appeared in the field. It was like the stamp left behind when Thor in "Avengers: Age of Ultron" left behind when he left Earth back to Asgard.

Edward quickly straightened up on the ground. He stood up and rushed over to the fallen girl but ran into a barrier blocking any attack. He could finally smell her. So tasty. Edward had to hold back a moan at the smell of her. He so badly wanted to drain her without any hesitation. Edward of course is extremely taken back by the shield blocking him. Bella looks up again and has to gasp again at his appearance as he stands over her from her seat on the ground. He looks similar to the mythical Greek god, Adonis. His facial features can only be described as perfect and angular—high cheekbones, a strong jawline, perfect eyebrows, a straight nose, and full lips. His untidy hair retains the unusual bronze shade like the young man in her sex dream just hours ago. His eyes, black, staring down at her. Bella could only shiver as his eyes darken looking at her, becoming more onyx black, and purple bruise-like shadows appear beneath his eyes. Edward stands at 6'2", and has a thin and lanky but muscular body. Bella felt a tiny piercing pain trying to hit her over and over, but somehow it was blocked.

"Where am I?"

"Who are you?" Edward asked sternly, glaring down at Bella.

"It's her!" Alice said running onto the field. "That's the girl! She is the girl from my dreams! She is the one to bring Hell Fire!" Bella looked at the tiny girl running at her before looking back at the handsome young boy standing over her. She could still feel something prickling at her head. Edward stared down at Bella hard. He frowned as Bella stared back at him, her eyes wide. A teacher came to the field in a blur, having moved so fast Bella's eyes didn't catch it.

"Sleep!" A cloud of powder engulfed Bella's face from out of nowhere. Bella's eyes rolled back as she passed out.

"A human here in Cullen Falls!"

"How did she get past the magical barriers all around the school?"

"She came in the lightning bolt! She is not human!"

"No human can travel by lightning. Lightning is too unpredictable!"

"You saw it! Everyone saw it! She came in a lightning bolt."

"Did anyone else see how she knocked Edward Cullen on his ass? I mean even Felix and Demetri couldn't do that."

Bella could hear voices around her. She couldn't move, though her mind was awake. Bella tried to force her body, arms, a finger to move, but nothing.

"Are you sure she's the girl Alice?"

"Dr. Carlisle, Headmistress Cullen, I know what I saw. She is the girl!"

"But she is human."

"I know it's odd that she appears human…"

"Alice, it is not an appearance. The girl is 100% percent human. Her DNA has no magical components," Dr. Carlisle said.

"But she stopped Edward. He said he couldn't hear her or see into her mind."

"That is odd. I will need to run more testing, but DNA never lies."

Bella wakes up in a foreign room a few hours later. There was sunshine coming through the window. Bella jerked up and looked around. She could tell she was in some type of a hospital wing with multiple beds set up in a row. She was definitely not in her bedroom. She didn't even feel like she wasn't in Seattle anymore. Bella quietly sneaked out of the large room. She followed the spiral staircase into the hallway. Bella heard someone coming and raced down the hallway away from the voices.

Bella found a way out a back door when she came down the front staircase and was almost caught by a couple before sneaking out the back door. Bella didn't see anyone, so she started racing across a field and into the forest. Bella stumbled a bit, falling over some tree roots and rocks. She hated that her clumsy gene was taken into effect when she needed to escape. Bella finally came to a clearing. She could see a small group of 4 guys, wearing just a pair of shorts and no shoes walking toward her.

"Well, well… what do we have here?" One guy said.

"Is this her?" A boy laughed.

"No way! She's tiny!"

"This is the one we are too afraid of." Bella looked around. "Ridiculous!"

"Where am I?" Bella asked.

"Is it true you're human?"

"We're all human," Bella said. The boys laughed. "Where am I?" Bella demanded.

"Are you a lost little girl? Do you need your Mommy?" Bella looked at the boy, smirking at her. Bella reaches back. She punches him in the face, knocking his smirk away. A few guys laughed as the boy began to snarl and get angry.

"Oh no, look what you did now!" Another guy said, smirking.

"Paul…" Another guy warned. The boy Bella punched started snarling more and more. "PAUL!"

Bella's eyes go wide as she falls back to her backside after she watches the boy transform into a mighty big wolf-dog right in front of her very sight. A crackle of thunder comes above their heads. Bella quickly turns, jumping back to her feet and taking off into the forest. The other guys that were laughing at her stopped as a bolt of lightning hit a tree right next to them.

"Come back!"

"Where are you going?"

"Do you think that was her?" A younger boy said, pointing to the lightning-struck tree.

"No way! A human can't control lightning, even our strongest witch can't control unstable lightning bolts," Embry said.

Bella runs straight into the small girl with lavender eyes from the field before, who hugs her to stop her from fleeing.

"Hey, hey, hey...it's okay!"

"Let me go!" Bella tries to fight off the small girl, but her grip is strong. She holds Bella from running anymore.

"Please, calm down Bella!"

"There is a monster over there!"

"That was just Paul playing around!"

"Playing around! He turned into a big dog!"

"More like a wolf," Alice said.

"What is this place? Who are you?"

"I'm Alice… And this is a school."

"A school with monsters!" Bella cried out.

"Not all monsters are scary."

"Are you fucking serious!"

"Bella… I will always tell you the truth. You can trust me. No one here is going to hurt you." Bella looked at the girl.

"Who are you again?"

"I'm Alice. Alice Brandon." Bella was breathing hard. "And you're Bella."

"Yes." Bella looked over Alice Brandon again. Alice is a very tiny, and petite person. She is short, Bella swears only Tinker Bell is smaller. Alice is "pixie-like" with her features. She also has large eyes and long, delicate eyebrows. Her hair is cropped short, spiky, and inky black.

"I know you're scared. Because when we're young, we're taught the distinction between a hero and a villain. Good and evil, a savior and a lost cause. But what if the only difference is just who's telling the story," Alice said.

"What does that mean?"

"Come with me. I can explain some things."
