Luke Sawyer's POV
I've just returned from getting Mrs. Grey lunch when I hear Hannah shouting my name. I immediately shove out all previous thoughts and race to Mrs. Grey's office to find her unconscious on the floor. I remove my suit jacket and fold it under her head. Her eyes begin to flicker open. "Mrs. Grey are you alright? What happened?" I ask quickly kneeling beside her grabbing her wrist to check her pulse.
"I got lightheaded. I must not have eaten enough this morning," she replies flushing trying to avoid eye contact with me. Her pulse appears to be normal and she looks okay other than being pale. I take my hand and touch her forehead, but she doesn't feel feverish either.
"Mrs. Grey! You are not alright. I need to call Mr. Grey and let him know," I tell her grabbing for my phone.
She reaches out and grabs my arm. "Sawyer please. I'm okay, really. I just need some water. Please don't tell Mr. Grey," she pleads. I look at Hannah who reads my expression and goes to get Mrs. Grey some water. I help her to her feet carefully and she sways unsteadily. A moment later I'm catching her in my arms as her legs begin to buckle underneath her again. Mrs. Grey is very weak, and I'm genuinely concerned.
"Either you go to the doctor or I'm calling Mr. Grey. Those are your two options Ana. This is ridiculous!" I yell. It's not normal for me to demand anything from the Greys and I know that I'm out of line, but she needs help. Mr. Grey will have my ass when he finds out that I've waited as long as I have. This job was so much easier before Mrs. Grey came along. I only had to worry about Christian for the brief times that Taylor wasn't available, but now I'm responsible for running Mrs. Grey's team and that has been much more difficult.
"Let's call Dr. Bartley and see what she thinks," she finally gives in after we have a stare down. She knows I'm not giving in this time. She shakily takes the cup of water from Hannah and takes a sip. She places it on her desk before picking up her Blackberry and calling the doctor. I sit on the corner of her desk in case she needs me again. She dials the number and places it back on her desk on speaker phone. I know she's trying to be sarcastic by doing so, but I'm glad that I'll get to hear the full conversation.
"Dr. Barley's office, this is Sara how can I help you?" the receptionist greets.
"Hello, my name is Anastasia Grey and I need to speak to the doctor if she's available," Ana replies kindly.
"Yes, one moment Mrs. Grey," she replies. A moment later Dr. Bartley joins the call.
"Mrs. Grey, what can I do for you today?" the doctor asks kindly.
"Doctor, I'm having some issues and my security guard insisted I call you. I just need to know if I need to be seen or not," Ana explains rolling her eyes at me. If Mr. Grey were here, she wouldn't dare do that.
"Can you describe your symptoms to me?" Dr. Bartley questions.
"Dizziness, headache, upset stomach, vomiting," Ana describes.
I can't help myself from telling them the truth. I choose to speak up even though I know Mrs. Grey is going to be pissed. "She's passed out Doctor. I found her on her office floor unconscious for three to five minutes," I add.
"Have you eaten today Mrs. Grey?" she asks Ana. I'm almost not sure if she heard me.
"Yes, but it wasn't much," Ana tries to deflect.
"It's probably nothing, but why don't you stop by at four. We can do a workup and see what we can find out for you," she encourages.
"Okay," she sighs. "See you at four," she finishes before hanging up the phone.
"Sawyer, can we please keep this between us? Mr. Grey will cancel his trip. Let's wait and see what she has to say. If it's serious then we can share it with him. If he feels he needs to come home when he finds out then he can," she begs me batting her eyes at me. I'm never supposed to side with Mrs. Grey, but how can I deny her when I know she's right. Mr. Grey will panic that I've hidden this so long without mentioning she's been ill. This might be my only way out without getting us all in trouble. I nod to agree with her although I'm not the happiest about the whole thing. Mr. Grey is going to be so pissed if he finds out.
