With Mallary now standing at the table with the two hosts, she was quick to gather up the ten applications that they had already looked through, placing them into a neatly stacked pile on one side of the table while spreading the other ten out evenly for all to see. She smirked, delighted to see the fresh faces on the applications.

"Now, where do we begin?" she asked in a pleasant tone, "I mean, surely you all picked these twenty for a reason, right?"

"Aha, you see," Chris rubbed the back of his head awkwardly, "We actually didn't pick any of them."

"You what?"

The woman was taken aback, though Chef sensed something off about how she reacted. Something about it just didn't feel right to him, it seemed as if she was making up the entire thing.

"Yeah," Chef mumbled, his eyes keeping a look of caution about them, "A strange wind swept all the other applications away."

"That's a real shame, boys," she shook her head in disappointment, "But I suppose we should make the best of it! Have any of these applicants fit well?"

"Yeah, sure," Chris looked back over at the first pile, "I can't say that they're amazing, but they'll all fit the bill. Though we did get some strange vibes from some of them...ah, it doesn't matter. We should probably look at the other ten, right?"

"I would be delighted to glance over them with you!"

As Chris and Mallary looked down at the spread out applications, Chef kept his distance, eyeing her over as if she was some sort of criminal.

"Heh, Chef, you're really gonna hate this," Chris gestured to another application, stifling a chuckle as he looked at it.

"Oh boy," Chef groaned, stepping closer to the table and reading over the piece of paper, "Ah! Felix Han! Another damn Chef!? Are these kids trying to replace me!? I'll show that Freddie and Felix that they don't hold a candle to me!"

"Oh, don't be so tense, Mr. Hatchet," Mallary place her hands on his shoulders, rubbing the tenseness away from him and causing him to gulp in fear, "We would never allow any silly child to replace you, you're simply one of a kind!"

"U-uh...thanks..."

"Now, Chris, who really pops in your eyes? Anybody you just makes you feel this season will be great?"

"Hm...I dunno," the host stroked his chin as he looked at them, his eyes eventually stopping on one of them, "Camille Harlow? That name sounds oddly familiar...looks like she was a journalist. Oh yeah! There was a journalist named Camille Harlow that died a while back, accidentally shot in a shootout...weird coincidence."

"Weird indeed!" Mallary immediately changed the subject, "What about this young boy? Jonah R. Harris. He looks like a fine contestant!"

"Wow, guy's got a tattoo around his eyes," Chef pointed out, "I'm surprised a twerp could withstand getting that done."

"Say's he's super into that steampunk craze," Chris added, "Well, looks like we've found our mega nerd for the season, eh, Chef?"

"I don't know about that, look at this girl. Moon Bermont. She's into witchcraft, and that's always seemed pretty nerdy to me."

"Pfft, sure, a witch is nerdy in one aspect, but steampunk is one of the nerdiest things known to man!"

"You two are arguing over which contestant seems more nerdy?" Mallary let out a slight chuckle as she shook her head, "I'll never understand you tv show hosts and your silly arguments. Well, look at this young handyman. Jackson Martinez. He looks like he could be really helpful if a car were to break down."

"Or if our printer starts spitting out ink at Chef. Let's see who else we got here...hm...Rosa Gómez."

"Man, that's gonna be confusing with Rose also around," Chef grumbled, "What's so interesting about her?"

"Well, looks like she loves disco, so that's something. We're gonna need a bunch of weirdoes around this place, so it works out. Then we got this Pharaoh Sky, out here looking like he's getting ready to hop into a tomb."

"He looks like a cute little troublemaker to me," Mallary joked, "I'm sure all of the girls will love him."

"Nah, the girls on these shows never end up falling for those types of hotties," Chef waved the boy off, "Now, this Abigail Smith? That looks like an interesting contestant to me. She's obsessed with those detective films."

"Oh boy, she's gonna be running around trying to pick out all the bad guys, isn't she?" Chris rolled his eyes, "I want more action, and the goody two shoes types never help out with that! Here, look at this Victor Addison. Dude's got an aura of bad luck about him, he's definitely going to be a good source of drama."

"Aw, poor kid," Mallary said sweetly, "It can't be fun to mess everything up for everyone else without even doing anything. Ah, well...that just leaves us with one more, I believe. This Mimsey Melek, she looks to be one of those romantic types."

"Hm...she does, doesn't she?" Chris looked the application up and down, "She says she's got a knack for making people fall in love with each other, so we've got a cupid wannabe on our hands."

"Hey, that could be fun to have around," Chef nudged Chris on the shoulder, "Maybe she'll even coax some lady into falling for you, eh, Chris?"

"Oh, you're sooooooo funny, Chef. Can't say I've seen you with much company lately."

As Chris flashed a nasty grin to Chef, the co-host gritted his teeth. Again, Mallary stacked up the rest of the applications, piling them up with the other ten before slipping them all into a binder of hers. Closing it up, she then shook both of the hosts hands, bearing that warm smile on her face.

"Well, gentlemen," she started up again, "It's been quite the journey, and I must say, I am exhausted! I'll be turning in now, but I'm excited for all of these contestants to arrive. I'm sure it will all be marvelous!"

She started off towards one of the halls, both of the hosts looking at her with different looks on their faces. Chris had an annoyed face upon him, one that suggested he didn't want any other personnel there to steal the show, while Chef was still suspicious of something...though not sure what it was. Something about the woman just did not sit right with him.

And those are our final picks! The decision was quite difficult, to say the least. We ended up getting a lot of inventor stereotypes in the applications as well, which is a shame, because they were all pretty good characters. We ended up picking Jonah just due to him being a bit of a spin on the inventor take. Of course, the whole picking process was incredibly difficult, but in the end, I feel that we made the right choices for the creative direction of the story. We will start working on the first episode soon, but this story will not be updated every week. Gotta make sure we get everything right.
