Chapter 3
Fun of being Monsters
Back at the carnival, the monster machine had released the ferris wheel from it's powerful, metal jaws and drove off to find better things to do. As the Halloween Gang reached the ground they split up to explore the empty fairground.
Their transformations had also changed their personalities, making them act, think and behave like the monsters they where and any memories of their human life had be erased and replaced, with them always being monsters and never knowing who Shaggy and Scooby were.
As Velma explored the carnival, she sniffed the ground and the air trying to find the senses of food. Where she was once a science nerd with an I.Q of 795 and would spend most of her days debunking the supernatural, was now a ferocious werewolf, her mind now more beast then human which main thought process was to find food namely meat. suddenly her nose catch the senses of raw pork. She ran to the sources of the smell, which was a hot dog stand. As she reached it she used massive paws rip the locked door clean off. She enter the building and found an open cardboard box filled with several hot dogs still in their packaging. She grab one in her jaws and teared the rapping off, then began to feast on the sausages.
Meanwhile Fred was flying around in his bat form, looking for a coffin to rest in. His desire to build traps, solve mysteries and to take care of his van had be replaced by a need to sleep in coffins, drink the blood of mortals and avoid garlic. He flew past several game stands and several prop coffins, none of which were to his liking. He was just flying towards the destroyed game stand that had the Scrappy Doo plushies when suddenly a strange smell captured his attention, integrated he followed the alluring cent.
On the other side of the nearly empty carnival, Daphne had turned one of the apple bobbing buckets into a hard metal cauldron, which she used to make a brew in, whilst she stir the lime green liquid she began to say a spell "Wart of a frog, Bark off a log, Ear of rat and tail of a cat. Thee who drinks this brew shall be, unfit for eye to see!" after finishing the spell she cackled wickedly. Gone was the kind hearted young woman, who put others first, now she had a heart that was twisted, she only cared about three things, committing wicked acts, herself and... Fred.
He arrived just as she had finished the brew, when he landed he turned back to his vampire form. "What is that delightful smelling concoction you are making my dear" he spoke in a Transylvanian accents.
"It's a special brew of mine, that may smell nice but you be sorry if drink it, ha-ha-haaa" she said. Her voice was scratchy and at a slightly higher pitch, with all of the sweetness gone.
Whilst she spoke Fred made his way to some nearby creates which stored the apples for the game. Most of them where fresh, then the vampire picked up one that moldy and rotten.
"For you my green skinned love" as he gave her the disgusting fruit a worm popped out on the right side.
"Thank you Freddie" Daphne said before biting into the rotten apple, then pulled out the worm and ate that as well, something that would have made her vomit when she was human was now something she loved as a witch.
Fred looked up at the full moon. "Sure is beautiful, is it" he asked.
"It is" Daphne replied, throwing the apple core away. "You know..." she began, when Fred turned to her she continued. "... There's a better way to spend the night then being at carnival".
"What are thinking of then, my darling?" asked the vampire.
She replied "Well, I have an idea of where to spend the night. On the way I can give my brew to people and once we arrive at are destination..." she flicked her arched eyebrows, Fred smiled knowing exactly what she meant, then bowed "Well then my love. Lead the way."
"Excellent, just let me get my broom" the witch said. She grabbed an abandoned broomstick and used her magic to make it fly. The blue vampire and green witch flew out east of the carnive, taking the brew with them.
Meanwhile, Velma had just finished the last of the hot dogs. Once she had exited the stand, she decided to leave the carnival, as there was nothing edible she could smell.
The former mystery solvers were now out in the city. They were out in the mortal world, a world that was about to be eliminated.
