Naruto manages to escape from his execution for hurting Sasuke during the retrieval mission. Natsu was blasted from Tenrou Island, and was not sealed away with the others, and now thinks they are all dead. In his grief, he leaves the Earthland, and travels to a different place. The two somehow end up in Foosha Village, and meet a 14-year-old Luffy.

3. Chapter 3

Chapter 3:

'Naruto Uzumaki, do you know why you have been summoned in front of the Konoha council?' Tsunade asked Naruto from her seating place at the head of the U shaped table, with three Konoha elders seating on both sides of her, while on her right are the members of the civilian council and on her right are members of the shinobi council.

Naruto was standing in front of them all, while there were several ANBU members behind him taking guard so he won't try to escape. At least that is what Naruto thinks, as he has a bad feeling about this.

And why wouldn't he.

He has just been released from the hospital where he spent the last two days after he returned from the Sasuke Retrieval mission, while having Sasuke's defeated body over his shoulder.

While battling Sasuke to return him back to Konoha, he had had two chidori's shoved in his chest, but thanks to his desire to win and not lose to Sasuke, because of his promise to Sakura to bring him back pushing him forward, and thanks to Kyuubi basically keeping him alive, he was able to push himself to his limits and return back to Konoha even thought by all means, he should have been dead by now.

Tsunade and Shizune managed to heal him fast after he went to the hospital, which again he had to do alone, as his sensei, Kakashi, grabbed Sasuke from him as soon as Naruto arrived in front of Konoha's gate, and run straight to the hospital, leaving Naruto behind.

Even though he was healed quickly, and he had Kyuubi to help with recovery, Naruto still had to stay in the hospital for two days, as on top of the two holes in the chest, he also had extreme chakra exhaustion, and many minor injuries, and so he needed some rest before he was allowed to move again.

During his stay in the hospital, the only people who visited him are Tsunade, Shizune and Hinata, and while Tsunade and Shizune acted strangely around him for some reason, Hinata was her old self and wasn't able to last long in his presence before she passed out after he thanked her for visiting him and wishing him well.

The fact that Tsunade and Shizune were acting strange for the last two days, and also the fact that no one else beside the two of them and Hinata visited him, made Naruto very sad, but also made him feel uneasy for some reason, and he had a bad feeling, but it wasn't until he was released from the hospital that he realized that something bad is about to happen.

As soon as he walked out through the front door of the hospital, Naruto was intercepted by a squad of ANBU, who told him they are to take him to a council meeting where the Konoha council was waiting for him.

Right now, as he was standing in front of the entire Konoha council, Naruto thought in his head. 'I have a really, really bad feeling about this.'

'No, I don't know why I'm here.' Naruto replied simply, and without yelling, which surprised many in the room, as they though he would start to shout like he usually does.

'You've been charged with using excess force on Sasuke Uchiha, and nearly killing him during the mission that clearly stated you are to return him back to the village unharmed,' Tsunade explained in what Naruto guessed was a resigned voice, and once he heard what she said, he barely controlled himself, probably for the first time in his life, as he knew that if he starts to yell on them all, it won't end well for him.

'You are kidding me, right," Naruto said slowly, and while everyone in the room raised eyebrows, as they were certain he will blow his top after he heard what he was charged with, they could clearly see that behind his calm exterior, he was barely controlling himself from exploding. 'You are the one who sent me on that mission along with the others, you are the one who told me to do whatever it takes to bring him back. Besides, Sasuke activated Curse Seal and even went to the next stage of it, what were you expecting me to do?'

'While I agree that I told you all of that, and while I personally have nothing against you for using as much force as you did, and while I do trust you,' Tsunade started to say, while ignoring the glares from most of the people in the room. 'There is nothing I can do right now because Sasuke has said that when you caught up to him he has agreed to come back in the village, but you just decided to attack him and even used some red chakra, which we all know what it is. He also said that the wounds he gave to you are from trying to defend himself as you were trying to kill him.'

'And you believe him,' Naruto said while staring at Tsunade, not believing what's happening. 'He's lying, because that's not even close to how the things went.'

'I trust you, Naruto," Tsunade said, with sympathetic look in her eyes. 'But you need to understand that there is nothing I can do at this point because out of all of us here, I'm the only one who believes you, while all the others believe Sasuke.'

Naruto couldn't believe what's happening right now, as he is literally being charged of becoming a traitor for trying to kill a fellow Konoha shinobi, even though he was just trying to bring Sasuke back to the village, and it was Sasuke who was trying to kill him.

And how could Sasuke do this to him? They were in the same genin team, and while they might not agree most of the time, and are always arguing, Naruto really thought they were friends, and now Sasuke accused him of trying to kill him.

Naruto had to know what will happen right now, so he asked. 'So, what happens with me now? Am I being stripped of my rank and left as a civilian for the rest of my life, or am I being stripped of the rank and being sent to prison?'

Once he asked the question, Naruto saw Tsunade burry her face in her hands, while all of the members of the civilian council as well as several members of the shinobi council were smirking. The rest of the shinobi council was impassive, and looked like they didn't care about anything at this point.

'This, is not going to end well for me.' Naruto though, and then he heard Tsunade clear her throat, and he looked her in the eyes, noticing she is barely controlling herself from crying.

'Naruto,' Tsunade started. 'After you came back with Sasuke, and while you were in the hospital, the Konoha council, in their infinite wisdom,' this Tsunade said with a sneer. "And along with the support of the Fire Daimyo, has decided to sentence you to execution.'

When he heard what Tsunade said, Naruto almost felt like he will pass out, but somehow managed to stay conscious, though completely mute, as he didn't know what to say or do, as they have completely caught him off guard. He has never thought the council will sentence him to an execution. Send to prison, yes, banish from the village and Fire Country, maybe, but never he thought they will have him executed.

He was so caught in his thought that Naruto barely heard that Sasuke will be the one to execute him in front of the whole village in two days, and then without even resisting, he was dragged by the ANBU in the holding cell, where he will be spending the final two days of his life.

The next day Naruto spent in the cell, mostly alone wondering where he has gone wrong in his life, and how could have everything go so bad for him.

The only person to visit him was Tsunade, not long after he was brought in the holding cell. She came to apologize for what happen and for not being able to save him. She said how she didn't agree with this, but since the council convinced the Fire Daimyo that he was dangerous, there was nothing she could do to reverse his orders.

She also told him that Sasuke was chosen by the council to kill him so he can gain Mangekyo Sharingan, which can only be achieved if Sasuke kills his best friend, and apparently Sasuke does think of Naruto as his best friend, even though he betrayed him, and was doing this so he can gain power to kill Itachi, which is more important to him than anything else in the world.

Naruto listened to everything Tsunade told him, but didn't say anything in return, so after a while, when she realized that Naruto won't say a word, she apologized again, and left, while tears were rolling down her cheeks.

'Do you see now why I hate you humans more than anything,' Naruto heard Kyuubi's voice in his head, while seating in his cell, thinking about his life? He didn't say anything, though, and Kyuubi continued. 'You all go so on and on about the honor, the value of life, the love and care about the others. You all say how you don't kill unless it's necessary, you call us biju, evil and demons, when the fact is, there are no bigger demons and no greater evil on this planet then humans. You all are cancer that is slowly destroying this planet and one day, I'm sure you all will destroy it, and end all life. It won't be me and my kind, but your kind. Do you understand?'

Naruto was quiet for a while, and then finally, he asked. 'What do you want, Kyuubi? Have you finally decided to talk to me only so you can laugh at my misery?'

'Do you hear me laughing," Naruto was surprised by Kyuubi's question. 'I want to laugh at you misery, I really do, but for some reason, I can't. I have been watching your entire life from that night I was sealed inside you, and I know everything about you. I know about your dream to become accepted by the villagers, to become the greatest Hokage, that you want everyone to love you and respect you, but the problem is, Naruto, that that was never going to happen. They would never love you or even respect you, you would have never become a Hokage even if this didn't happen because I'm sure something else would.

'I knew you will never become Hokage, everyone in the village knew that as well and were always laughing at you whenever you brought it up. You are the only one who never realized that. You never realized that because of their hatred toward me, you will also be hated and always considered to be me, even though you are not.'

Naruto didn't know what to say to that, because even though he didn't want to believe it, deep down, he knew that Kyuubi was right, and that his entire life, he was a fool who has always wished for others to accept him even before he found out about Kyuubi being sealed inside of him, and especially after when he wanted to prove to them all that he is not Kyuubi and that the two are two separate entities.

But now, in his final hours of life, and after hearing Kyuubi words, he finally realized how much of a fool he really was.

'How do I… no, how do WE, get out of here before they kill me?' Naruto asked Kyuubi, the beast surprised by the question, but also because of something he suddenly felt inside Naruto, which is some kind of power he has never felt before, and which unnerved him for some reason.

Kyuubi eventually shock his head to clear his thoughts, and then replied. 'There is no way for you to survive what's coming, Naruto,' Kyuubi said, and Naruto's eyes narrowed and glowed silver for a split second before they went back to his normal blue. 'There are only two options for you right now. One is for you to die at the hands of that Uchiha bastard, and the others is to break the seal that is holding me, which will release me, but it will kill you because you cannot survive without me sealed inside of you.

'You will die either way, the only question is, how do you wish to die, and do you want to have some revenge on the village? If you do, then release me, and I will kill them all, but if you don't, then just allow yourself to be killed by the person you considered to be your friend.'

'No," Naruto said, while his eyes were going silver and back to blue by each second. Kyuubi didn't know what he meant by that, and he noticed the strange power from Naruto is flashing more and more, but he also noticed that there was no anger in Naruto's voice, which surprised him, as he appeared to be cold as ice at this moment instead of raging like wild fire, so he waited for Naruto to continue. 'I want revenge, but I want to be the one to bring judgment upon this village. I want to be there when I kill them so I can watch as the light disappears from their lives upon taking their last breath, and I can't do that if I release you and die.'

'I'm surprised by your words, Naruto,' Kyuubi said, with a smirk on his face. 'You are finally showing some backbone, and I'm almost proud of you, but as I said, there is nothing you can do. You can't escape as they have suppressed your chakra as well as mine, so nothing short of breaking the seal will overpower the restrains.'

Naruto knew that, of course, and even though he didn't want to, he got angry, and his eyes became completely blue again, no longer changing to silver and back, which made Kyuubi realize that whatever this power is, it is tied to Naruto's emotions, but instead of how Naruto normally pulls Kyuubi's powers through anger, to use this new power, he must be calm.

Their thoughts were interrupted by a third voice in Naruto's head. 'I might be able to help with that.'

The voice, which sounded like a normal human voice, came out of nowhere, and everywhere, and Naruto and Kyuubi looked around Naruto's mindscape, but couldn't see anything, all they could do, was feel some strange power, that Kyuubi realized feels similar to how Naruto's power feels during this flashes in the last few minutes.

'Who are you,' Naruto asked, while looking around, and was getting annoyed and unnerved at the same time? Kyuubi is no better as well. 'Where are you?"

'My identity is not important right now,' the voice was heard again, but neither Naruto nor Kyuubi could pin point it. 'One day you might find out who I am, but it will only depend on you, as it will depend on if you are worthy to reach my plain of existence or not.

'But anyway, I will help you get out of this mess, so you don't have to worry. Though you will have to wait until tomorrow.'

'Why do I need to wait until tomorrow,' even though Naruto didn't know who this voice belongs to, he wanted to trust the person, but also wanted to know more about him? 'How do you plan to help me, and what do you want in return, because I doubt this will be free.'

The voice laughed for a moment, and then said. 'I want to wait until tomorrow because I can't save you now since your body is not strong enough and I need to rewrite some genes,' Naruto's eyes as well as Kyuubi's flew from their heads, and they were stunned silent. 'To answer the second question, you have to wait and see, as for the third, well, I don't really want anything, because there is nothing you can give me or do anything for me.

'But, I would be satisfied if you were to become strong enough so that one day you will be able to reach the place I live at. If you can do that, then we can call it even.'

Neither Naruto nor Kyuubi knew what to say, and they were silent for a while. By the time they came back to their senses, and tried to call the voice again, there was no reply, and Naruto and Kyuubi almost wondered if they was losing it, or was it all real.

They guessed they will have to wait until tomorrow to find out, and hopped that whoever that person was, was real and not a product of their imagination, because if he was, then they are going to die, and there was nothing neither of them can do about it.

It is now the day of the execution, the early morning of it, and Naruto is lying on the bed in his holding cell, thinking about the voice he heard yesterday, and was it real or not, and if it was, whose voice it was.

His thoughts were interrupted when the door of the cell was opened, and two ANBU entered inside, with Tsunade following after them.

Naruto looked at Tsunade, and noticed she had some strange expression on her face, with slight reddening on her cheeks. He also noticed she had a small, transparent cup with a lid on it. He couldn't take it anymore, and asked. 'What's going on, Tsunade?'

Tsunade looked at Naruto with surprise in her eyes that he called her Tsunade, and then after few moments of silence, she sighed, though the pink hue on her cheeks was still there.

'I don't know if you know this, but when the jinchuriki dies, the biju sealed in them die for a while, but then after few years they reappear somewhere in the Elemental Nations, as they regenerate from chakra,' Tsunade said, and Naruto nodded, as he has heard about this. 'The same thing will happen with you and Kyuubi. After you die, Kyuubi will be gone for a while, but then will reemerge again after few years.'

Naruto listened to what Tsunade was saying and was confused why she was bringing this up right now.

'That will not work in this case because when you die, I will also permanently die as well because of the seal that Yondaime used," Kyuubi said to Naruto, making him lift an eyebrow, but didn't say anything. 'But I guess those morons in the council don't know that, and Tsunade doesn't seem to know it either.'

'Even though the council has decided to sentence you to death, they still want Kyuubi in the village, but there is a problem with that,' Tsunade continued, while Naruto decided to stay quiet for now, about what Kyuubi said. 'With you dead, there are no other Uzumaki left, and only Uzumaki can hold Kyuubi, so…'

Tsunade didn't finish her sentence, but Naruto and Kyuubi seemed to have understood where this was going, and the cup in Tsunade's hands only confirmed their beliefs.

Naruto's eyes widened, while Kyuubi was laughing his ass off because of what's about to happen.

All that I am right now is a figurehead, until they find another Hokage… Or until Danzo decides to put his name forward, as everyone knows he will be the next Hokage.'

'How is this going to work anyway,' Naruto asked?

Tsunade sighed. 'I'm to collect the semen sample from you and then it will be used to impregnate a girl from the village, which will be picked by the council. When the Kyuubi reemerges, it will be captured and your child will be used to seal Kyuubi again.'

'Yes,' Tsunade confirmed, and Naruto was at the loss of words because he simply didn't know what to say, and short of releasing Kyuubi, there is nothing else he can do.

'Tsunade, I really don't think this is a good idea,' Naruto said. 'Besides I don't want any child of mine to be in this village and end up treated like I was.'

"I know that, Naruto,' Tsunade said with a smirk, which surprised Naruto. 'It's actually why I volunteered to do this, instead of the nurse the council wanted to send.'

'I don't understand.' Naruto said.

'I have a plan,' Tsunade started to say, and Naruto was all ears. Natsu shrugged. "We didn't see any reason. You were asleep, and this seems to be a small town, so we though to just look around a little bit and then be on our way. But I guess we got held back a little longer than we thought."

"What's going on here anyway," Naruto asked? "As I was going around the town, I run into some old man who said he is a major of this town, which is taken over by Buggy Pirates, and all the citizens had to escape from the town, and to the hills."

"Well, I don't know where the people went," Natsu said. "But the town is taken over by Buggy Pirates. We found that as soon as we set foot here.

"That guy that's trying to kill Luffy is Buggy, by the way."

"I see," Naruto said, as he watched the battle between Zoro and the orange haired girl, and the Buggy Pirates. "Who is the girl, though?"

"Her name is Nami, and she is apparently a thief who only steals from Pirates," Natsu said, and Naruto raised his right eyebrow. "When we got here, she was being chased by several of Buggy's pirates, as she apparently stole some map from them, and when she saw us, she tried to set us up, and called me her boss, before she run away, while leaving the pirates to attack the three of us."

Naruto smirked. "Smart girl."

"Yeah, she is," Natsu replied with his own smirk. "Anyway, she didn't run away completely, but hid closely and watched what will happen, so when she saw Zoro dispatch of the pirates, she showed up again, and tried to convince us to join her and become partners in stealing from pirates.

"Luffy refused immediately, and we were on our way, but she wouldn't let it go, so she followed us and tried to convince us, and in the end, Luffy asked her what else can she do besides stealing, and she said she is the best navigator in the East Blue. That immediately got our attention, because, while we are good enough to find our way around, we do need an experienced navigator for the crew.

"Luffy was about to say something to her, but then we are interrupted by some guy with a giant lion, and after that we were drawn into a battle against Buggy Pirates, and Nami ended up drawn in it as well."

"I'm actually surprised she is even fighting and not trying to run away." Naruto commented.

"That's because Luffy told her he has an offer for her, and if she sticks around, and fight for us, then after the battle, they will talk, and she ended up agreeing." Natsu said, and then he and Naruto continued to quietly watch the battles.

It didn't take long for Zoro and Nami to defeat all of Buggy's Pirates, as Zoro is very good swordsman, and this pirates are not that strong, nor do they have any DF powers.

After Zoro and Nami finished off their opponents, Luffy was the only one left to deal with Buggy, but as the other four were watching the battle, with Nami casting glances at Naruto as she hasn't seen him before, they were able to see that Luffy is just toying with Buggy, and was simply dodging his attacks without striking back.

"I thought about handing you over to the marines, but in respect to Shanks who considers you a friend, I will give you one chance, and will wait to see what you do with that chance. But remember this well, Buggy, if the next time we see each other I'm not satisfied with your change, then you will not like what I'll do to you."

With his words said, Luffy walked away from Buggy, while Natsu, Naruto, Zoro, and Nami followed him to the shore.
