Preface: Hello, again! I know, this chapter is a week late - if you're keeping up with Minecraft Maniacs RPG, you'd know why. Speaking of which, this chapter is set after the events of Chapter 40, so if you want to read that one first, go right on ahead. Anyway, let's get into this!
This fanfiction of Bluey is called:
"Blue Dreams"
Previously...as shown in Chapter 36 of Minecraft Maniacs RPG, Bluey, Bingo, Muffin, and Socks received special headphones created by Kevin, which allow them to enter preset dreams. So far, the four have done the dancers dream following Bluey and Bingo's first adventure in the Corruption.
Now...they all meet up once more, following the events of Chapter 40...
Roll Call
Bluey Heeler: Six-year-old blue heeler. Loves to play.
Bingo Heeler: Bluey's little sister. Slightly more sensitive.
Muffin Heeler: Somewhat bratty little cousin. Has a hidden heart of gold.
Socks Heeler: Muffin's baby sister. Acts like a real-life dog.
Chapter 2:
Mermaids
[Party Selected: Bluey, Bingo, Muffin, Socks]
[Current World: Dream-a-tron World]
[Current Location: Hub Area]
[BGM: Asu01 - Dreaming Away]
Bluey and Bingo opened their eyes (their dream eyes, remember!) after drifting off to sleep. After the scary day they had, the sight of the hub area was long-awaited. "Doesn't look like Muffin and Socks are here yet," said Bluey, looking around. "Which dream should we do?"
"Can we do the beach one?" Bingo asked, her tail wagging. "I wanna have some fun at the beach."
"Yeah, I think we should," Bluey agreed. At that moment, Muffin and Socks popped into the world. "Muffin! Socks!" the blue heeler said, greeting her cousins.
"Hi, Bwuey!" said Muffin, waving. "What did you do today?"
"It was scary!" said Bingo, frowning. "We went into this dark cave with hopping llama cubes, a bee monster, a rollercoaster made of boats, and these scary black monsters!"
"One of them even ate us!" Bluey added. "But one of our new friends saved us!"
"Aww, I wish I couwd come with you," said Muffin, her tail dropping. "Even though that sounds scawy, it sounds fun, too…"
"Maybe we can try recreating our adventures with these magic headphones someday!" Bingo proposed.
Muffin perked up. "Yeah, maybe." She looked at the dream portals. "So which dream do you want to do tonight?"
"We decided to do the beach one," said Bluey. "I hope that's okay."
Eagerly, Socks ran up to the portal and barked, her tail wagging. Muffin giggled. "I guess Socks wants to do it, too!" she said. "Okay, but I want to do the band one tomowwow night."
"Sounds good, Muffin!" said Bingo, giving a thumbs-up. "Now, then...BEACH!"
"BEACH!"
"BEEEEEEEEAAAAAAACH!"
"Ruff, ruff!"
These were the sounds that came from the four as they walked into the portal.
[Location Change: Magic Beach Dream]
[BGM: Asu01 - The Beach]
The beach the four set down on was rather simple. A large expanse of sand laid the way for a large ocean, with no waves and a not-too-obtrusive smell. But best of all, the pups were the only ones there. "This is the Magic Beach Dream!" Kevin's voice intoned. "This is one of two dreams where the landscape changes based off of what you're thinking of, so maybe you can act out a story, or even turn into something else! It's your dream, after all!"
"So we can tuwn into anything we want?" asked Muffin. "Ooo! I can be a mewmaid!"
"And I can be King Neptune!" added Bingo, excitement growing.
"What if I told a story about a dog and a mermaid?" Bluey suggested. "We can all be people in it!"
"Yeah!" Bingo said, tail wagging. "I get to be King Neptune!"
"I'm gonna be the mewmaid!" shouted Muffin, raising her hand.
"Zeahorth!" barked Socks. It was one of the few words she could say, but she loved saying it. Seahorse. Seahorse. Zeahorth. Huh, I can see where she's coming from.
"I'll narrate it!" said Bluey, pointing her thumb to her person. Everyone shouted "Yeah!", raising their arms in the air. With that, the story began as everyone but Bluey vanished in magic dust, entering their roles for the story. As Bluey began to walk down the beach, she plucked a rose from the ground, put it beside her ear, and began to narrate, which I will write in italics so you can follow along more easily.
Once upon a time, there was a young lady named Circe. She was best friends with a young mermaid named...Splashella.
At that cue, Muffin jumped out of the sea, pleasing Bluey as she saw that her cousin's feet were now a beautiful purple tailfin. "Bwuey! Bwuey!" Muffin shouted, excitedly. "I'm a mewmaid!"
"Yeah, you are!" said Bluey, her tail wagging. "But my name is Circe, and your name is Splashella!"
"Oh, okay, Bwuey!" said Muffin, falling back into the ocean. She gasped. "Oh, I mean, Ciwce!" Bluey giggled and resumed her narration.
Each day, Circe and Splashella would walk along the water, looking for shells to add to their collection. And when they weren't looking for shells, they were swimming in the ocean, watching all of the little fishies swim by.
As Bluey narrated this, she and Muffin went alongside the water, picking up all sorts of seashells. Putting one of them up to their hearing places (which were not their ears), they could hear the entire beach in it. After that, Bluey found herself swimming in the ocean with her cousin. The water looked nice and clear, giving the two a wonderful view of the fish they could see swimming through the coral and kelp. "Ooo!" the two swooned, admiring the sight.
Circe loved Splashella, and Splashella loved Circe. They didn't spend a single moment apart. Bluey and Muffin were now sitting together in one-sided hugs, watching the sun reflect across the sea. But even though they enjoyed each other, they were a little upset that their time together was a little tricky because they were from two different worlds.
For most of their lives, they were able to keep it a secret, because they didn't want to jeopardize their friendship. But then, one day, they decided they couldn't take it anymore and told one another the truth.
"Oh, Splashella," said Bluey, stepping out of narration, "how I wish I could turn into a mermaid and explore more of the ocean with you."
"And I wish I couwd gwow wegs and wawk with you on the sand, Bwu-Ciwce," added Muffin. Even though she was glad she was currently a mermaid, she was doing a good job at pretending to be sad.
"Perhaps I could help," the two heard Bingo say in a masculine, regal voice. Looking up, they saw that the red heeler was hovering in midair. Her legs were now an orange tailfin, matching her orange fur, and she was wearing a crown made of yellow coral and holding a trident that glowed with magic.
"King Neptune!" Bluey shouted in delight. "What are you doing here?"
Bingo put her hand to her chest. "I am here to help you solve your problems!" she said, continuing to use her King Neptune voice.
"Can you tuwn me into a dog?" Muffin asked.
"Or make me into a mermaid?" Bluey added.
"Unfortunately, I cannot turn doggies into mermaids," Bingo continued. "And if I gave a mermaid legs, it would only last a day." She smiled, getting ready to shake things up. "But I know where you can find magic necklaces that will allow you to change between being doggies and mermaids!"
Bluey's tail wagged, as would have Muffin's if it was here right now. "Whewe awe they?" asked Muffin.
Bingo pointed to the west. "If you go that way, there will be an inn that can magically transport you there if you sleep there tonight. And since the way isn't very travelable in the water…" Bingo pointed her trident at Muffin's tail. It twisted and turned as the scales vanished, and before long, the grey heeler's legs and dog tail had returned. "I'll just give Splashella legs for the day!"
"Thank you, Bin-King Neptune!" said Muffin, standing up. She paused. "Wait, shuwd I pwetend I can't stand up?"
Bluey giggled. "I guess so."
"Okay. Whoa!" At her cousin's request, Muffin dropped to the floor, pretending to not know how to use her legs.
"Come here, Splashella," said Bluey, picking her cousin up. "I'll teach you how to walk as we go!"
"Good luck, you two!" Bingo shouted as the two pups set out on their way.
[BGM: Asu01 - Bob's Journey]
Circe and Splashella were off on an amazing adventure! As they walked down the beach, Circe taught her friend how to use legs like a real dog. At her narration, Bluey pretended to teach Muffin how to walk, slowly stepping one foot at a time as her cousin copied. As the sun began to set, Splashella had been taught how to walk, so she decided to try doing a cartwheel! Now walking normally, Muffin eagerly ran along the sea, bent down to do a cartwheel...and tumbled face-first into the sand. Bluey helped Muffin stand back up, and the two giggled. Eventually, the two managed to find the inn.
"Hey, B-Ciwce!" said Muffin, pointing at the building that they were abruptly teleported to. "Thewe's the inn!"
"I can't believe we found it!" added Bluey. The inn was a rather humble abode, being made out of wood planks with a simple sign saying "Open Room!" dangling from the roof. Bluey ran up and knocked on the door. "Hello? Anyone there?"
"Come on in!" the two heard Bingo say in a funny voice. Walking into the inn, they saw Bingo sitting behind a desk, wearing the disguise she wore when pretending to be Bluey's husband, which was a blue plaid fedora with a red band and a fake mustache.
"Is it awwight if we sweep hewe tonight, Mr. Innkeepew?" Muffin asked, pulling herself up onto the desk.
"Sure thing, boibe!" said Bingo, using her funny voice again. "That'll be ten dollarbucks!"
After paying the innkeeper, Circe and Splashella crawled into the beds and fell asleep. It was weird using blankets for Splashella, but in the middle of the night, she felt a strange feeling in her legs. She didn't realize what it was until she woke up.
"Um, Ciwce?" said Muffin, opening her eyes and tossing her blanket off. "I'm a mewmaid again." Sure enough, her legs were once again a purple tailfin.
[BGM: Asu01 - Pirates]
"Oh, biscuits!" shouted Bluey. She hopped out of bed and grabbed her cousin, carrying her like a groom with a bride. "Wow! You're pretty heavy!" Carefully, Bluey struggled to carry Muffin out of the door. Sunlight streamed through the windows, meaning that it was now morning. Finally, Bluey managed to reach the doorknob, but when she opened it, the beachside was gone. In its place was a cove surrounded by a high rock wall, with only a small bit of sand dipping into the ocean.
"It wowked!" shouted Muffin. "We'we in the pwace with the neckwaces!"
"Fantastic work, you two!" Bingo announced in her King Neptune voice. She emerged from the water, once again the king of the sea. "All you have to do now is simply swim along this piece of the ocean! But I have to warn you: the necklaces are guarded by a large, scary octopus named...um…" She stepped out of character for a second. "Bluey, what's a good scary octopus name?"
"Um, how about ooga-boo-d'oh!"
"Ooga-boo-d'oh?"
"No, I just realized I have to give Muffin ten dollarbucks again!" Annoyed, Bluey placed her hand on Muffin's open hand, and the current mermaid smirked. "Okay, how about...shooby-doowah?"
Bingo giggled. "Haha, Shooby-Doowah! Okay!" She cleared her throat and resumed her King Neptune voice. "The necklaces are guarded by a large, scary octopus named Shooby-Doowah! In order to defeat him, you'll need my magic trident!"
Bluey set Muffin down into the water, and her cousin watched in awe as the trident lowered into her hands. "You'we letting me have it?" she asked.
"Only to defeat Shooby-Doowah!" Bingo repeated. "And in order for Circe to make it through the water, I will also let you have my magic seahorse!"
At that moment, Socks emerged from the water with a saddle on her back and her legs replaced by a long, curly tail. "Aww, she's adorable!" said Bluey, giving Socks a pat.
"While riding on my seahorse, you will be able to breathe underwater!" Bingo explained. "Just don't fall off, and you should be fine!"
Bluey gave her sister a salute and climbed onto Socks. "We won't let you down, King Neptune!" she said as she and Muffin set out on the last part of their quest.
Circe and Splashella were off, ready to get past Shooby-Doowah and claim their prize! As she traveled on King Neptune's seahorse, Circe found that she could breathe underwater, like Splashella. She was glad to finally be able to talk with her best friend underwater, but she remained focused. It wouldn't be long before she could do that forever. And then, at long last, the two found Shooby-Doowah.
As Bluey finished her latest narration, she and her cousins stopped in front of a dark cave, overgrown with coral. "I think this is where the necklaces are, Splashella!" she said, her voice gurgling underwater.
"But I don't see Shooby-Doowah anywhere," said Muffin, looking around. She grasped the trident tightly in her hands. "Where do you think he couwd-?"
Muffin's question was cut off by a large octopus with sickly green flesh and large suckers on his tentacles emerging from the cave. The three pups quivered in fear, when Bluey was suddenly grabbed off of Socks by one of the octopus' tentacles. "Gah! Splashella, he-" Bluey began, before she realized she couldn't breathe underwater anymore.
Muffin looked at Socks, who was angrily growling at the octopus. Getting determined, Muffin climbed onto her sister, her tail dangling in the water. "You wet my best fwiend go, you meanie, ow ewse!" The octopus chuckled, as if to say "Or else what?" Muffin responded by shouting into the sea and directing Socks to charge at the creature. Socks barked as she rushed into the tentacle holding Bluey. The blue heeler was let go as Muffin shoved the trident into the appendage, causing the octopus to reel it back in pain.
Bluey sat back down on Socks, regaining the ability to breathe underwater. "Thank you, Splashella," she said, gratefully.
"No pwobwem, Ciwce," said Muffin, giving her cousin a hug. "Now, it's time fow SHOOBY-DOOWAH TO GO DOWN!"
Bluey nodded in agreement. "Hey, Shooby-Doowah!" she shouted, gaining the octopus' attention. "Try and get me again!" Having recovered from his injury, the octopus stuck his tentacle out, trying to recapture Bluey, when Socks swam away, taking Bluey to safety. With the octopus distracted, Muffin swam behind him, went to the top of his head, and poked it with the trident once more.
As soon as King Neptune's trident hit Shooby-Doowah's head, the octopus felt the most pain he had ever felt in his life, because ocotopuses aren't very smart and don't have big brains to protect their heads. He grabbed his head and swam off to find an octopus doctor. Circe and Splashella had won.
Bluey and Muffin caught their breaths. "We did it, Ciwce!" shouted Muffin. "We defeated Shooby-Doowah!" The two pups faced the fourth wall and shouted "Hooray!"
"And look!" said Bluey, pointing into the cave. "There are the necklaces!" Sure enough, sitting in the cave were two identical pearl necklaces.
Bingo appeared from the water, clapping. "Fantastic work, you two," she said. "Now go and claim your prize before Shooby-Doowah comes back!"
Circe and Splashella knew what they had to do. Circe got off of King Neptune's seahorse and joined Splashella in swimming into the cave. Holding the necklaces in their hands, the two carefully put them around their necks. Circe felt an amazing sensation in her legs and looked down…
As Bluey narrated her transformation, she saw a whirlpool appear around her leg and felt them sticking together into one mass. When the whirlpool faded, her legs were now a tailfin as yellow as the beach's sand. "I'm a mermaid!" she shouted, excitedly. "Now Circe and I can explore the seas together!"
Muffin, on the other hand, was still a mermaid. She tugged on her necklace in confusion. "Why didn't I change?" she asked.
Bingo swam into the cave. "You see, these necklaces are designed to have you be mermaids in the water, and doggies on the land. So as soon as you hit land while wearing the necklace, you will be a dog!"
Bluey and Muffin swam up to Bingo and gave her a hug. "Thanks, King Neptune," the two said simultaneously.
"You're welcome, my children," replied Bingo. She grasped the trident in her hands. "Now, I am going to teleport you back to the beach. Farewell, and enjoy the necklaces!"
As Circe and Splashella waved goodbye, they saw the ocean vanish as they returned to the beach that they called home and turned into doggies. Sure enough, as soon as they were teleported back to the beach, Bluey and Muffin's tails were surrounded by whirlpools, giving the two their legs back. And so, the two would spend their days doing what they usually did, if a little more complete now that they could be one with their separate worlds now. And they lived happily ever after. The end.
Bluey's narration concluded just as everyone returned to the beach, back in their natural forms. Muffin and Bingo applauded as Socks barked happily. "That was so much fun!" Bingo shouted.
"Yeah, it really was!" said Bluey, her tail wagging. She looked around. "Well, what do you want to do now?"
"Let's aww be mewmaids!" Muffin shouted. The puppies shouted "Hooray!" and ran into the sea. Turning back into their mermaid and seahorse forms, they swam out to the ocean, ready to enjoy whatever pleasures awaited them.
[World Change: ?]
[Location Change: Tent of Rejuvenation]
[BGM: Asu01 - Relaxing Afternoon]
As the dream ended, Bluey and Bingo opened their eyes, back in the tent they were currently calling home. Everyone else was also starting to wake up. "You're a great storyteller, Bluey," said Bingo.
Bluey's tail wagged. "You really think so?" she asked.
"Yeah! You should make up another story sometime!"
"Well, maybe later!" Bluey looked over and saw Sonic snoring next to them. "Hey, wake up, Sonic!" she said.
The hedgehog blinked his eyes. "Ugh, morning already?" he groaned. "I was having the most amazing dream. I was dancing with sugarplum fairies…" He paused, realizing the entire tent heard what he had said. "Y'know, now that I've said that out loud, I kinda regret having said it out loud."
To be continued...and next time: Muffin's turn!
Next chapter: "Band" Well, after three chapters of complaining, Muffin finally gets her turn at a dream! Up on stage down in New Farm Park, the Heelers are ready to make their non-theatrical on-stage debut! But it wouldn't be as fun doing it alone...that's why Bluey's also gonna call up her friends! And one of Bingo's, who her sister really seems to care about...
Postface: Chapter complete! Again, I'm sorry for the delay, everyone - I'm glad to get this one up and running, though!
Trivia time! Since this chapter is set along the beach, I naturally took a few cues from the episode The Beach, which initially ended the first half of Season 1 when the show premiered in Australia. This includes the bit with Bluey, Muffin, and the seashell, Bingo having the role of being King Neptune (and her ability to give mermaids legs that last a day), and Bluey's mermaid tail being yellow, since around the start of the episode, Bluey and Bingo are making a sand tail around her legs. You may also recognize Bingo's innkeeper guise from the episodes The Sleepover and Muffin Cone. As for the story element, I thought that someone like Bluey would be a good storyteller, as shown in the episode The Adventure. As for the octopus being named Shooby-Doowah, that was what "ooga-booga" was replaced with when the episode Teasing went back into circulation (except on Disney+).
Before we end this, can I tell you a little secret? I secretly think that Bluey's friend Indy is the real mermaid fan in her friend group. I just think it kinda suits her, y'know? Being a hippie and all. I wouldn't mind making a story involving her and Bluey's other friend Chloe becoming mermaids, maybe on Reddit instead of Fan Fiction. I dunno. If you're an r/bluey user, let me know, okay?
That should be it! Please read, review, and share around, and I'll see you next time for...
"MY TUWN! MY TUWN! IT"S FINALLY GONNA BE MY TUWN! GUITAAAAAAAWWWWW!"
Yeah, as you can see, Muffin's pretty excited for her dream to be the focal point of next chapter. Anyway, as always...
"STAY DIAMOND, EVEWYOOOOOONE!"
Alright, that's enough, Muffin.
