Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of the Valkyrie and the immortal. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own VK, Sega, Ryutaro Nonaka and Shuntaro Tanaka do.
Seton turned and fired a few more shots down the hallway before ducking out the door. The empire would never allow them to simply leave.
Seton felt the chill of the icy wind whip at his face. The doctor from before pulled him and Aliasse along. Seton kept his rifle along with the clips he had stuffed in his pockets handy. Maybe the doctor didn't need them, but Seton wanted a gun in his hand as long as possible. They were in the empire's lands, there would be no allies here.
"We're never make it on foot." Seton said which caused Aliasse to look at him. "Not to Gallia, it's hundreds of thousands of miles away." Seton added as they continued running into the snow.
The doctor looked at the boy with fear. He was JUST becoming a teenager like Aliasse, and they would be forced to fight a war… One neither of them had any choices in, one that none of them knew the full story about.
"I know." The doctor stated which got a raised eyebrow from Seton. "We just have to make it outside the border… Once we've escaped the empire's borders? It will be a quick shot to Gallia." The doctor stated which made Seton hum.
He didn't know if she had a plan. Seton guessed she did, after all? Why go through the trouble of breaking them out without a plan? That made no sense tactically.
"Mama, why is he coming with us?" Aliasse asked as Caton clasped his jaw shut. "Did he suffer like you said I did?" Aliasse asked and looked at Caton.
The doctor only gave a nod which made Aliasse blink as she turned to Seton. The boy blinked at her, giving no sign he knew what she wanted or who she was.
"Yes, he did suffer." The doctor said while sprinting with them as fast as she could. "Which is why we're going to run until we get to Gallia. We're going to run and not slow down till we get there." The doctor put in, more snow and sleet whipping at their faces.
She had a plan, that just confirmed it. Seton knew you'd either be insane or extremely sure of yourself if you had a plan… And she did, this doctor HAD to.
"What will we do in Gallia?" Seton asked and pushed himself from the doctor. "We're going to need a plan when we get there." Seton said as he looked over his shoulder.
The doctor was about to say something when she noted Seton was simply sweeping the area, his rifle held firmly.
Despite her efforts? She knew he could fight, but there was always going to be the fact he was a teenager. His aim seemed to slightly falter with shakes of his hands, his foot stance was lousy.
The doctor allowed Seton to follow slowly. While there would be plenty of troops following after them? The empire's first thought would be to lock down what they could. It made the most logical sense from a military standpoint to Seton.
He looked at Alliase. This girl? He had met her a few times, the empire made great mention of her… How they would be the empire's spear, smashing through whatever enemies were placed within their paths. It scared him… But it didn't surprise him, they were 2 of the best warriors to come out of the empire's science division.
"We're going to ask for sanctuary within Gallia." The doctor said as they stopped. "And your both let me do the speaking to them, got it?" The doctor questioned the duo, she got a nod for an answer which made her smile.
She hated that both would be nothing more then soldiers, weapons of war… But they both trusted her, she needed their trust if any of them was going to survive the empire's winter, make sure that they had a home within Gallia's borders.
Still? It would be a much longer road then she wanted to be on at the moment. Seton looked at her with interest as they slid into a snowbank. The wind continued to gnaw at their bones.
"We need a transport or something." Seton stated and hummed before looking at Aliasse. "And I chose to come… It's bad here, so very bad." Seton added which got a nod from Aliasse at the moment.
"I have one… Just please come with me." The doctor said which was greeted by another nod.
The duo slowly traipsed their way through the snow and sleet. There would be far more soldiers in their way.
But the doctor knew they'd be destroyed rather easily. There was no way that they couldn't see the irony.
Nor did they know 2 of their best weapons would find happiness with each other. Something the empire hadn't anticipated at any part of their life.

Phew. Another chapter done! I want t point out that next chapter will be in 2-10 months and will show Aliasse and Seton bonding more… Along with more of Seton's character growth and such. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
