The following day, Sakura visited the office to confirm the deal with Mr. Uchiha. Yes, she w considered the marriage as a business deal because it involved conditions and no love. She felt a tad disappointed to know that the elder Uchiha had hidden the condition of their marriage. She wanted to confront him before she finalized the marriage.
She knocked the door of the office and entered after a faint "Come in" was heard from inside. Once she was inside the elder Uchiha lifted his head from the documents he was working on.
"Oh Haruno-san. Have you thought of the marriage?"
"Yes Uchiha-san. I accept. But I have a question. Why didn't you tell me about the condition your son has made?"
Fugaku sighed and rubbed his hand on the side of his face.
"Haruno-san, I wanted Sasuke to tell about the condiiton himself. I trust you alot."
"Okay, I understand." Sakura tried to force a smile on her face. If Fugaku noticed, he didn't comment. He knew what Sakura was feeling but he couldn't do anything.
"Haruno-san, I will arrange the wedding at the end of the month. Be ready. And thank you once again. I am forever in your debt."
Sakura nodded and left the office and went back to her house. She announced her wedding to her family. Though they were disappointed at first, but later they understood why Sakura accepted. Sakura's lived a mediocre life. Her family consisted of her widowed mother, an elder sister deprived of her husband, a younger brother not at all competent for any job, and her youngest sister getting pregnant with the boyfriend trying to avoid the responsibilities. Therefore, she accepted the contract so that she may be some use to her family.
As a child, Sakura always dreamt of being married to the love of her life who would love and cherish her equally. Perhaps, dreams are never true and fate has a cruel way of dealing life. She sighed for the millionth time that day and thought that maybe, her dreams would come true in her next life. With this in mind, she ended her day and drifted off to sleep.
