'Pokemon' – Telepathic Speech

I do not own Pokemon nor any of its characters, I own only the OC's shown in this fanfiction.

Fun fact. Becoming a Pokemon trainer is a lot more complicated than the show or games would lead one to believe.

You can't just walk up to a Pokemon Professor when you turn 10 and get a Pokemon. You need to sign some papers first. A lot of papers.

All these papers require the soon to be trainer's signature, stating that the national Pokemon League as well as the international Pokemon League is not to be held responsible in the case of trainer death in the wild or the loss, theft, or death of a partner pokemon outside of city grounds.

Another fun fact. Killing a Gym Leaders pokemon is completely legal. Almost.

So long as the death of the pokemon occurs in a league sanctioned Gym Battle the death is considered legal, so long as there was no prior tampering with the Pokemon, or Pokeball before the battle began.

All of this also required my signed signature of acknowledgement of these rules.

This is turn means you have to sign almost 20 different papers and have proof of learning about the types of food pokemon consume as well as having intimate knowledge of pokemon types.

'How was Rosa so excited about this when she knew she would have to sign so many different papers?' I thought to myself as I pushed all the now completed paperwork into a file. 'I doubt I will ever understand how she has so much energy'

Despite thinking that, and despite the extreme amount of work it took to finish packing all the necessary items as well as signing all of the papers required to obtain a pokemon, I could help but feel a small pang on excitement bubble up in my chest. A rare occurrence for someone like me.

'I wonder what you would think of this place, Enehta? Would you like it here? You would probably like it here… Without me having to tie you down' I thought to myself. A large well of emptiness sparking to life within me. Drowning the small pang on excitement I had felt.

I wasn't blind. Every time we had to move states or cities due to me going a rampage and killing someone before she could calm me down. I could tell that it all took its toll on her. Little by little.

I honestly wouldn't blame her if she's glad I'm dead. Now she doesn't have to worry about abandoning her friends from her current school again… because if there was one word, I had to use to describe her… Well, first I would say green, but after that I would probably say social.

She had this air around her which made her into the center of the room, the life of the party, the main attraction of the day.

A social butterfly that attracted attention like a flame attracts a moth… Tied down to a psychotic murderer that's always moving between different cities, talk about irony. She garners the whole cities attention but is only there for a few months at a time.

She didn't deserve to me tied down by me.

And I didn't deserve to have her as a friend.

Let it be known that professor Juniper's lab is far too small for something that's meant to be used to research pokemon.

To call her lab a mess would be an understatement. Half the equipment's disassembled and lying-in cardboard boxes and the other half is either half built or scraping against the ceiling.

"Sorry about the mess, there really isn't enough room in here" Juniper said, slowly turning her head towards a small box. "I'm sure I don't need to tell you what pokemon you have to choose from?"

Juniper finished as she grabbed the box and placed onto a nearby table before opening it. Revealing three pokeballs with different coloured lids.

Green for Snivy, red for Tepig and blue for Oshawott.

I already knew which one I was going to take. The only question now is if I can work with the pokemon I want.

"Professor Juniper, would it be alright if I got to know Snivy before making my selection?" I asked Juniper before grasping the green lidded pokeball. "I want to know if this Snivy is the right choice for me"

"Well, I don't see why not, but just know that if you want a different Snivy you're going to have to wait a few months for the next three to arrive" Juniper responded with a slight smile on her face, "I was meant to be researching these three, but I thought it would be better to let you have them now instead of having to wait"

"Thank you professor Juniper!" Rosa shouted, reaching towards the blue lidded pokeball. "I already know we are going to be best friends!"

Professor Juniper proceeded to explain how to properly take care of our new pokemon, but I left before she finished.

'This seems like a good spot' I thought, gripper Snivy's pokeball in my right hand. 'Plenty of shade and water, hopefully the Snivy will feel comfortable here'

I don't want the Snivy to feel uncomfortable, I want them to be relaxed, calm and levelheaded.

I also want it to obey any commands given to it.

I won't be forcing the Snivy into doing anything illicit, but I will be requiring it to be alright with killing other pokemon. And potentially humans as well. No that's a lie. It doesn't matter about the Snivy being alright with killing. Only that it WILL kill if I order it to.

Letting out a short breath, I pointed the green lidded pokeball towards the ground before releasing the Snivy inside of it.

"Snivy!" Shouted the small, snake like pokemon as it took in its surroundings.

'Hm… Its eyes are red instead of brown. So, this one's female' I thought as my eyes scanned over the Snivy's body for any other oddities. 'I can work with that'

A female Snivy and a male Snivy don't have too many differences. The main give away being that the eyes of a male will be brown, while a female will have red eyes. Along with Male Snivy's being more instinct driven while Female Snivy's are Emotionally driven.

Another small difference being that female Snivy's are also a little bit larger than male Snivy's. Though this trait seems to be random and rare among the Snivy population, though this Snivy doesn't seem to be much larger than the average Snivy, so chances are that this is just a regular one.

"Sni?" The Snivy said as it finally noticed me. "Snivy?"

"I'm your new trainer, possibly" I explained to the Snivy, not 100% sure if it could understand human speech. "I haven't decided if I want to choose you as my starter"

A small lie but I need to know if this Snivy actively wants a trainer. If it does then it opens more possibilities when it comes to training it.

If it doesn't then it means I need to treat it more carefully. If pokemon are as smart as they are shown to be in the Television series, then chances are that basically human manipulation will work on them.

'Though manipulating her would mean putting in far more work, so hopefully she wants a trainer' I thought to myself as I reached out towards the Snivy, seeing how to would react. 'If not then I won't have much of a choice but to manipulate her'

The Snivy backed away as my hand got closer to it, a small amount of fright in her eyes.

"Hey… It's alright, I'm going to hurt you, I promise" And just like that she gained a little bit of confidence and moved towards my hand, sniffing it slightly before placing her head against my palm.

I have no intention of keeping that promise. If she attacks me, then I will hurt her. Though perhaps gaining a little more trust from her isn't that bad an idea.

Reaching into my back pocket I grabbed a small, rounded object, about the size of my palm. The object has two horn like appendages at the end of it. A taser I had picked up earlier before arriving at Professor Juniper's lab.

The weapon caused her to back away from me and begin erecting vines from her back as she growled at me with a look of anger on her face at my apparent betrayal of my promise towards her.

This does confirm that she knows what a promise is. Making her easier to exploit if I need to manipulate her.

Though, despite her attempt at frightening me, she failed. I used to kill people on a bi-monthly basis, a few vines don't scare me.

"Hey, easy now. I'm throwing this away, don't want to hit you with it by mistake" I explain, slowly moving the weapon towards the nearby pond before throwing it into the body of water.

With myself now completely disarmed, she should have no reason to attack me, a point proven when she retracted her vines back into her body.

"I want you to be my partner. That requires a lot of trust between the two of us" I spoke to her as softly as I could manage, placing a smile on my face. "I hope that you can trust me a little more now that I have nothing to defend myself with"

She seemed to enjoy that I had not betrayed her trust and had instead been simply removing the weapon I had on hand. Evident in the way that she now approached me in a far calmer and almost joyful way.

I spent an additional hour with the Snivy, learning as much as I could about her.

By the end of the hour, I had learned all I needed to.

She's perfect. I won't need to ask for a different Snivy.

She's easy to manipulate, exploitable, and most importantly. Easy to keep under control.

I don't know why, but she seems to almost crave friendship. Likely to do with her upbringing, but she is almost scared to do something that can lead to someone disliking her.

Not that I'm complaining. Just makes it even easier for me to always keep her under control. Though… I do have to wonder if Enehta would agree with this course of action.

"Who am I kidding? Of course, she wouldn't. I'm taking advantage of what is practically a child" I snorted. "Though, she isn't exactly here to stop me"

Despite how much I care about Enehta, and despite how much she would hate me for doing what I am currently in the middle of. So long as she doesn't out right ask me to stop. I won't.

'Though. That in itself is troubling. If I have no voice of authority or someone to bring me back to my senses. I could very much end up dead due to my instincts again' I need someone else to take Enehta's place. Rosa could work but there's no guaranty that we won't be separated.

Which only leaves one option. A Pokemon. Though that leads the question as to which pokemon to choose? I can't use a weak pokemon otherwise it won't work because it won't be able to subdue me if required, but it also can't be too strong otherwise it could kill me in an attempt to subdue me.

The Pokemon I chose needs to be in a middle zone of strong and weak, but it also has to fit into my party. Meaning that it must be one of the pokemon I have already chose to be in my team of Pokemon.

Audino, Golurk and Scolipede can't be chosen as Audino is too weak while Golurk and Scolipede are both too strong. That leaves Chandelure, Gothitelle and Snivy.

Chandelure could work, but I rather not take the risk of it giving me burns that could lead to me being hospitalized.

That leaves Gothitelle and Snivy. While Gothitelle would be the best option due to it being a psychic type. I want to attempt to instill a blind loyalty into it. Making it a moot point in telling it to subdue me if I lose control because I could just tell it to let go of me and continue on with my rampage of mindless killing.

That leaves only Snivy. While a bad choice at the moment. Once she evolves into a Serperior she will be able to subdue me with ease.

'Well then, guess I don't need to think of a good name for her at least' I thought. 'After all I already knew what I was going to call the pokemon which would take Enehta's role'

I grasped Snivy's pokeball, taking it off my belt before cracking my neck, loosening the muscles in my neck, and causing me to release a breath of air I hadn't known I was holding in.

"Time for the final factor" I thought, before pressing the release button on the pokeball.

"Sni!" Snivy shouted as she was released from her pokeball. "Snivy sni?"

"Tell me. Are you willing to do anything I say? No matter how evil or cruel you might find my orders to be?" I asked her. As her response to this question will be the final deciding factor as to whether I take her as my starter pokemon or wait for the next Snivy to arrive.

"Sni! Snivy vi sni!" She shouted while nodding her little head. A resounding "Yes".

"Alright then. Come with me and together we will be the strongest in this region, that I promise you!" I told her, the moment beginning to carry me away, as Snivy looked up at me with wide eyes. "No one will be able to win against us, not the gym leaders, the elite 4, not even the champion himself!"

"Will you join me under a new name? And cast aside your previous attachments?" I asked, and she nodded her head again.

"Good! Then join me, Enta?"

Authors Notes!

And there ya have it Ladies and Gentlemen! The third chapter of Pokemon Grey.

Also, fun fact. Every single one of these chapters so far are larger in size than the one before em.

And the name for Snivy is revealed! Enta! Ya can tell where the inspiration came from and by god is Enta easier to type then Enehta! (Also a hell of lot easier to remember :D)

Anyway, as usual I will be updating this again in a months' time. Sorry if it seems like a long while for chapters that are only 2-3-4 thousand words long but like… I actually have no excuse it just takes that long for me to have a whole chapter up. Just takes forever for me to motivated enough to get to writing, I guess? Not that I don't want to work on I do but I just lack the inspiration halfway through writin each chapter

Dragoonir!
