THURSDAY - DAY 12 - 7 AM

Mya could hear the birds chirping outside as she opened her eyes. She felt very tired and debated on getting up or rolling over for five more minutes.

It was very quiet in the cabin. As she rolled over, the sunlight shined brightly into her eyes. She shielded the light with her arm.

Suddenly, Mya bolted up, nearly hitting her head on the ceiling. There shouldn't be much sunlight at this hour. Which could only mean...

She looked under her bed. Her roommates were gone.

--

Mya ran down to the main fort after quickly changing. What was she going to say? She was going to get kicked out of the military for sure. So... why was she still running to the main building anyway? She was only going to be told to leave or perhaps they would have her run twice the amount she normally would run in the morning for missing the early day exercise.

She ran up to the doors, out of breath, and pushed them open.

Who was she supposed to talk to about this, she thought as she hesitantly walked into the building. As she looked around, she realized that nobody was inside. After a minute, Mya exited the building. The sunlight hit her as she walked onto the dusty road. A familiar voice called her name.

"Mya!"

Mya looked over to see someone on horseback galloping at full speed towards her. She stood there squinting, trying to make out who it was. The person rode their horse up to the building in front of Mya. The horse neighed as the rider pulled back on the reins, forcing it to a sudden stop.

Mya held her hand up over her eyes as the sunlight made her eyes water. Then she recognized the person from their long brown hair pulled into a ponytail and odd glasses. It was Hange.

"Mya!" Hange said with much enthusiasm on the back of the horse. "I hardly recognized you! Your hair looks great!"

"Yeah.."

Mya had hardly looked at her hair since yesterday. She was a bit more focused on the possibility that she could be sent home for oversleeping.

"I figured you were going to be arriving back late, so I told your Commander that you would not be attending this morning's events. Looks like I missed you by a few minutes. I did catch you running here, but I wasn't sure at first if it was you. Luckily, my hunch was right!"

Mya couldn't believe what she was hearing. Her heart settled and she was able to take a deep breath and calm herself.

"Oh. Thank you."

"Of course! Now, are ya hungry? I have some food set up right over here."

Hange motioned Mya to follow as she galloped around the building that was in front of them. Mya walked several feet behind her and rounded the building as well. As soon as she was around it, she saw a blanket that had been laid out on the green grass with a basket on it. Hange got off her horse next to the picnic layout and removed it's bridal. She tossed the bridal onto the blanket as Mya walked up.

"Mmmm. I'm starving!" Hange sat down and crossed her legs on the blanket and grabbed the basket. "Sit down!"

Mya slowly sat on the blanket.

Hange dug through the basket and pulled out several sandwiches. She handed Mya one and continued to unload the rest of the basket. Four sandwiches, two metal containers, two metal cups, and some apples and carrots. Mya eye's widen at the spread.

Hange had already bit into her sandwich.

" 'elp 'ourself" she said with her mouth full.

Mya bit into her sandwich. It tasted like eggs and butter. It was really good.

Together they eat their sandwiches and drank the water that Hange had supplied. After their stomachs were full, Hange spoke.

"Mya. Part of the reason I've arranged for you to eat with me today is... that I have some concerns about your progress here."

Mya put her drink down by her crossed legs. She looked down at the blanket as the cool breeze swept through her hair.

"I have heard that it has been hard for you to quickly adjust to the fast pace of training.. and that you haven't been bonding with your teammates."

Hange stared at Mya, speaking in a low tone.

"I know that training can be very hard, but it's only meant to be that way so that it can prepare you for the challenges out in the real world."

Mya tried to bring herself to look Hange in the eye, but she could already feel her emotions start to flow. Shut up, she told herself.

After a pause, Hange spoke again.

"Can I ask you, what made you want to train for the military? Is there a goal that you want to achieve for yourself?"

Mya bit her lip and looked away. She sat very still on the blanket. Hange waited for an answer but after several seconds wasn't given any.

She looked down and stretched her arms towards the sky and then put them back down.

"You know, you're not the only trainee who's struggled a bit here. Believe-it-or-not, I was once in your shoes and it was not easy for me."

Mya looked up at her.

"I didn't have a lot of people I talked to either. I was a mess because the only reason I had joined was because my family couldn't afford to take care of me. So, if I was here, at least I would be feed and given care when I needed it. But the training was definitely rough for me. I didn't really have a thing that was making me willing to commit myself every single day. Until one day... when we learned about titans."

Hange looked like she was roundly remembering everything she was telling Mya.

"We didn't know as much as we know now about the titans. They were seen as just these menacing creatures that roamed the earth and ate humans. Titans, like me, didn't have a purpose on the earth besides one thing: wandering amously. Or so we thought at the time. But as soon as the instructor began to tell us more about the titans, the more I began to ask questions and want to know everything. Then I knew that I had to do well in training, or else I could never encounter one myself outside of the walls. It might sound .. a little odd as some have mentioned in the past...and present... but just imagine what we could do if we knew everything about how the titans worked? We could know their strengths and weaknesses that could help us get out of these walls. And titans are enough proof that anything is possible."

Hange leaned back on her hands and looked up at the clear blue sky.

"I want you to succeed, Mya. I think you just need to find a reason to. Something that makes hour heart burn with passion every time you think of it".

Mya continued to look down at the blanket and then over at the grass besides them.

Ants crawled in a thin line under bits of grass. They all held bits of things that they stuffed into a tiny hill several inches away.

Purpose. Reason. Success.

Mya knew that she did lack the things Hange talked about. But it was too complicated to explain without feeling like she was pouring all of her struggles onto someone at once.

Still, she should at least say something. After all Hange had down for her for the past two days.

"Well... I appreciate your concern. I do want to try harder to succeed, but ... I'm just ... not sure what I'm passionate about. Everything is a bit different now, and ... I'm just not sure..."

Mya looked down at the blanket again, now at a loss for words.

"Well," said Hange, "inspiration is just around the corner. If you want to really commit yourself to working hard, you will find a way to do it. And you will find a reason to keep doing it until you can attain your goal."

Mya nodded.

"This is a great place to get stronger, faster, and really try to focus on one thing you want to be the best at. It doesn't mean you have to be the best in class, no. The best part of trying over and over again is that once you achieve something you never thought you could achieve, it sticks with you. I still have memories from winning races in school. It might not mean much now, but it makes me feel happy and strong. Especially when I'm doubting myself. If I feel like I can't do something, I can think back to that memory and it might be enough to convince me that I can do it because of that time that I did this other thing. See? Now, I just want you to think about what drives you and to keep trying new things. Over and over. You will be happy that you did."

Mya listened to Hange's advice and felt it really begin to resonate with her. She uncrossed her legs and brought her knees so they were bent and she could wrap her arms around them. She sat their frustrated with herself. How was she going to find something that drove her enough to achieve? May admitted to herself that she did tend to be more depressed about certain things because of things in the past, but she really wished she could just wake up for once and be herself again. The fun, out-going self that loved everything and wasn't afraid to embarrassed if she messed up.

Mya glared down at the blanket. Someone was coming up the hill. Hange turned.

"Levi!"

Levi stood in uniform with a green cloak over his shoulders next to the picnic blanket. The wind tossed his bangs back and forth as he spoke.

"The next training segment starts in ten minutes."

"Great timing! We are almost done! Be there in just a second!"

Mya didn't look over at Levi. She glared at the grass as it flipped from side to side with the wind. Her hair blew around in different directions. It was like the wind was trying to remind her that Levi was the reason she don't have to worry about her hair. Still, Mya was too frustrated to even glance at the Captain or Hange.

"I'll be at the bottom of the hill" Levi said as he turned around and walked away.

Mya could hear the sound of metal clanging against metal and looked up. Hange was stuffing everything back into her basket as the wind picked up.

Mya stood up and collected her cup and other random objects near her on the blanket and handed them to Hange.

"I'm sorry, I will work on what you told me. I think what you said made a lot of sense."

Hange grabbed what Mya held and together they stuffed everything into the basket. All except the blanket.

They both stood up on the hill. Mya grabbed the blanket before it could go flying and handed it to Hange.

"I'm glad I could talk to you about some of this. I know it's hard sometimes, but it will get better."

Mya nodded.

"Thank you for yesterday too. I don't remember if I had the chance to say it, but thank you for helping me fix my hair. It was very nice of you."

"Oh sure! But it's actually the Captain that you should be thanking. He's the one that saw what happened and wanted to help."

Mya felt a little shocked after hearing that. What did he see? Was he there the whole time? Now she felt just as embarrassed as she had when the mean guy had cut her hair. But at the same time very grateful that he had managed to fix it so well.

"Oh.. really?"

"Yeah," said Hange. "We just want to help when we can, Mya. You can trust us."

Mya wasn't sure what to say again as Hange looked her in the eye and did a small smile.

Mya returned with a small smile.

"Now, go on and start succeeding!" Hange said as Mya walked down the hill. "Suceeeeeeeeedddd! First you suck- then you eeeeeedddd! SUC-CEED!"

Mya raised an eyebrow and tried to hold back a grin as she waved and walked down the slope of the hill as Hange danced around in a funny fashion until she was out of sight.

Once at the bottom, Mya saw Levi and walked up til she was behind him.

"Umm, thank you again for yesterday. I'll try to handle things better in the future."

The Captain stood in front of her without turning around but appeared to be listening. He turned to the left and began walking away.

"Let's get to the training grounds".

Mya followed after him.

--

The Captain walked up to a valley where several people were divided up and doing exercises all at the same time in the same area in the grassy field.

He stopped and stared ahead at the trainees. Mya walked up next to him.

She could see one area that had multiple people doing self-defense exercises, while another area focused on target practice with rifles. It was all very loud, but there seemed to be lots of progress being made.

Commander June appeared in front of them and recognized Mya. Mya felt her soul leave her body as the Commander made eye contact.

"You! Why weren't you in my group this morning?"

His tight face enhanced his angry features, and his six-foot stature was nothing to sneeze at.

Mya opened her mouth in defense but the Captain interrupted her.

"She was with me. Hange found you this morning to discuss it."

The Commander looked at him as confusion and surprise washed over his face.

"She did mention something about a trainee missing practice"

His eyes had plenty of anger behind them that he would have likely wanted to have let out on Mya. But he seemed to be restraining himself from saying anything he might regret.

The Commander looked at the Captain, and then broke eye contact. He turned to Mya.

"You. Come with me."

Mya looked at the Commander and followed. He spoke again when they were several feet away from the Captain.

"I have something nice and fun for you"

He lead Mya to a wooded area a ways away from the grassy fields where trainees yells filled the air. The tall trees covered the sun and only let tiny fragments in. They continued down a path where Mya eventually spotted a weird, large item. It looked like a giant person, but was made of wood. Could it be that...

They walked up to an area with wooden tables that had various items scattered on it. She didn't recognize what they were but she could tell they had some importance to where they were at.

A few people were talking next to the tables. They wore coats with wings on them.

Soon the Commander stopped and turned around to face Mya.

"This, is what I want you to do for the rest of the day. Do you have any clue where we are right now?"

Mya scanned the area again and shook her head.

"This is where soldiers practice using maneuver gear. This is equipment that has the power to kill a titan. Without it, you will perish if you're outside of the walls."

Mya had no idea what the Commander was talking about. She glanced to the side where a large, wooden, human figure was standing.

A person suddenly flew next to the figure using a strange device that allowed him to swing himself in the air towards it. He raised a long spear in the air and cut a large gap into the neck area. A chunk of wood fell to the ground as the person swung around and disappeared into the trees.

Oh.

So that's probably what the Commander was talking about.

"Um, sir, isn't this for the more... experienced soldiers here? How am I supposed to-?"

"You will have until the end of the day to cut a piece of that titan's neck off. Unless you can do that, I'm sending you back to where you came from"

He left without another word.

Mya's jaw hung in the air as she watched the Commander leave.

She looked down and tried to figure what what to do. She didn't have much time. Could he really cut her loose if she failed?

Mya marched over to a couple of soldiers in uniform.

"I am here to learn how to use maneuver gear."

The soldiers both looked at each other.

"Sorry, this is for experienced soldiers only."

"Please. I'm up against impossible stakes here. If I don't try, he'll give me the boot"

One of the soldiers gave the other a look and left. The one remaining sighed.

"I really shouldn't - but I guess, what the hell? You're in luck, kid"

THURSDAY - LATE MORNING

The man introduced himself as Asher. He was apart of the Survey Corps that ventured beyond the walls on horseback. He had been apart of the military for two years and although he had experience with maneuver gear, he wasn't the best at it. He explained to Mya as he helped her get fitted with gear that he had a fear of heights which made his goal to advance his skills with the gear all the more complicated.

"So, what made you want to join the corps if you have an issue with heights?" Mya asked Asher as he tightened the belts around her legs.

"Well, honestly," he stood up after finishing the last belt, "it's because every single time I come across a titan, I want to kill it. Have you ever seen one?"

"No."

"You're lucky, they're the ugliest things I've ever seen. They just roam the earth to create chaos. The sooner we can rid of them, the better. So. How does that feel?"

"Good"

"Great. Now, first, I want you to fire these things," he pointed at the wire propellers located by her hips, "at that tree", he said as he pointed at the tree in front of her.

Mya looked down and then at the tree several yards away. They were in an open area in the woods by themselves that was close to the large titan figure.

She clenched the strange devices she held in her hands like Asher had told her to do. Grabbling hooks shot out of gear attached to her as fast a bullet leaving a rifle. The hooks attached themselves to the bark of the tree and then hung there. The long wires that connected to Mya bounced up and down before coming to a halt.

"Great! So that's what it's like to shoot the hooks. That is the easiest part and you nailed it. Now, comes the rest," Asher sighed. Mya could hear the stress in his voice as she looked at the tree.

He lead her over to the tall, thick trees that stood over 50 feet.

"First, I want you to watch me," said Asher.

Then he sped off into the air with his gear. The gas that left his tanks made a loud noise as he pulled himself up to a large branch on top of the tree.

"It's all about familiarizing yourself with the feel of the gear!" he yelled down to her. "Now watch this!"

He aimed the grappling hooks at another tree a few feet across from the one he was at and shot the hooks into the bark.

"Always tug back a little to make sure the hooks are in place! That way if they're not, you can quickly shoot them again when you're up in the air!"

He pulled himself onto the opposite branch several feet up into the air and then landed on it.

"Do you understand?"

"I think so!" Mya yelled back.

"Okay, now, try to latch yourself up to the branch like I just did before I jumped across! If you think you're falling, drive your sword into the tree!"

This is ridiculous, Mya thought to herself. How did she end up having to learn maneuver gear in one day?

She looked at her hands and then up at the tree. She look a deep breath and latched the hooks into the tree, immediately pulling herself up. As she neared the branch, she realized she didn't know how to unhook herself so she could land. The gas suddenly stopped as she loosened her grip on the gear in her hands and was able to land.

Balance, she told herself.

She did as she landed on the large branch. However, looking down was enough to make her feel like she was going to fall. She spread her legs and stood still for a

She...made it

"Woah! You said this was your first time using maneuver gear? That's a pretty good first attempt."

Asher stood across from Mya in the other tree.

"Okay. Now I want you to do the same thing, but going straight across. This is going to be a little harder because you're going to have to use less gas on the landing. "

Mya looked across at Asher and tried her best not to look down. They were very high off the ground, which made her question why Asher thought it was a good idea to start this high. What about his height problem? Was he too distracted with her to notice how long of a fall it would be?

She gripped the gear in her hands and shot the hooks forward. In an instant they attached themselves to the tree across from her. The gas pushed her forward and the wire connected to the hooks pulled her to the tree.

She was on the other side before she could look down. She loosened her grip last minute and stumbled forward next to Asher.

"Woaahh" he grabbed her shoulders as she landed a bit too quickly beside him. "Okay, nice job overall. How does your gear feel?"

"I think it's fine."

"Nothing feels loose? Too wobbly? Too tight?"

Mya shook her head, but she now had a new type of anxiety in her head: malfunctioning gear.

"Great. Okay. Let's try just swinging from tree-to-tree a few times until you feel like you got the hang of it. Any questions so far?"

"Yeah, how do I grab a blade, when I need one?"

"Oh, that is an important question.."

He took several minutes to show her how he took the device in his hands and how they attached to the spears in sheaths at her sides.

"Now you try it."

She did so and managed to pull out blades for each hand. The conversed back and forth as he made sure she understood what he was telling her. Mya felt very focused and hadn't even realized that lunch was about to start.

"Okay, I think I got it"

"Food. I mean, good."

Mya laughed.

"Sorry," Asher chuckled, "are you getting hungry? I have no idea what time it is."

"A little bit" said Mya.

"Okay, let's stop for now and pick up after a quick bite".

They swooped down to the ground and unloaded their sheathes and accessories that could come off. Asher talked to Mya with ease as he lead her over to a picnic table. There, other soldier stood around chatting. Food was located on the center table and contained a variety of things such as cheese, bread, grapes, apples, fish, and beverages.

The soldiers looked at Asher and started to smile. A female soldier walked up to them and began to chat with Asher. Another walked over as well. Mya recognized the soldier from earlier. He was the one that was with Asher when she first arrived.

"Yeah, I get one day off and I'm off doing favors again. It's fine though. Oh, have you guys met Mya? She's new here."

The woman with long blonde hair worn up and the man Mya recognized from earlier looked at her.

"I don't think so," said the woman. "Hey, if you're hungry, we got plenty of food."

She lead Mya over to the table and dishes up with her.

The man who Mya recognized stood next to Asher and gave him another look that was similar to the one he gave him earlier.

"So, anything you want to tell me?"

Asher looked back at him.

"It's not like that. Apparently, the Commander put her up to it."

"Which one?"

"Guess."

"June?"

"Only June would."

"Poor gal."

"But, get this Joe. She's already landing almost perfectly. I thought I'd be spending the first hour just trying to explain how to land, but it's like she's done this before."

"Well, you have had a knack for teaching people stuff"

"True. But I can't help but feel a little envious."

"So, did you watch from the ground?"

"No, I - I was in the trees, actually," Asher said out loud as he now realized that he hadn't been afraid of falling the whole time.

"Really? Wow. I guess teaching can be the best medicine."

"Yeah."

Mya sat with the woman with blonde hair at the table. Her name was Kathryn, and she was very beautiful. She was also apart of the survey corps, but she had only been a soldier for less than a year. She talked with Mya as they eat.

"Your hair looks so silky and smooth! Where did you get your hair cut?"

"Um-"

Oh no, thought Mya. She hadn't thought of an excuse yet.

"My Mom does it."

"She should cut mine! I'd gladly pay her!"

Mya chuckled and Kathryn joined in.

Soon Joe and Asher came over and sat down to eat. The table was busy with commotion and good food. It was a wonderful time.

THURSDAY- EARLY AFTERNOON

Mya had lost count of how many trees she had practiced swinging across with Asher. So far she was on a roll and hadn't really made any mistakes, or at least none that had been pointed out to her.

She had now been taught how to stick to the side of a tree with the grappling hooks attached to the bark, done a half-spin in the air, and how to draw a blade out of her sheath in mid-air.

The best part about maneuver gear was how free she felt using it. She recalled as a kid that she always wanted to fly, and this was the closest thing to it.

Now it has time to attempt to cut a Titan's neck. A fake one anyways.

Mya stood with Asher in a large tree several yards away from the dummy Titan. This was the last thing she needed to do to get the Commander to allow her to continue with training.

"Alright, I don't know when the Commander might come back here but you should really be proud of the progress you have made today, Mya. I mean, you have exceeded all expectations involving maneuver gear. Do you know how long it takes the average rookie to get all of this done? Longer. Much. Longer. I don't know what sort of secret you're keeping from me, but I have never encountered a person that has picked up this stuff as quickly as you have" said Asher to Mya.

Mya didn't know what to say. She was still too focused on the last task. She was glad she happened to have a knack for this kind of stuff, but it could be gone tomorrow if she doesn't get this right.

"I mean, seriously. Have you really never used maneuver gear before?"

"I told you, no. It just feels natural for some reason".

Asher looked at her for a moment and then at the dummy titan.

"So. I guess this is the last step. And the hardest one. You need to cut the nape of that dummy Titan's neck," he pointed at the back of the neck as he spoke. "That is the only known way to kill a Titan. Or else they regenerate their bodies."

"That's disgusting" said Mya.

"I know " replied Asher, sounding equally disgusted. "So, I will demonstrate and you watch".

He walked over to the edge of the tree branch and prepared himself for takeoff.

Asher jumped down from the branch and shot his grappling hooks into a tree across from him. He swung around and took out a blade from his sheath and then quickly cut a large gash across the nape of the dummy Titan. He landed on a branch diagonal to Mya.

"Okay. I realized that perhaps it would be easier for you to have your blades ready before you swing out. But do whatever feels right."

Mya nodded and looked across at the dummy. She was still not used to pulling out blades from their sheaths, so perhaps having the blades exposed already would be smart.

She attached her controls in her hands to her blades.

Just as she was about to jump, two male soldiers whizzed by, also with maneuver gear. One of them turned around while in the air.

"Hey, watch it rookie! Can't you see we're gliding here?"

"Can't you see we're practicing here?!" Asher yelled back as the two guys disappeared. "Stupid jerks. Go whenever you're ready."

Mya looked at Asher and then around the tree to see if anyone else was going to pop out of nowhere. Just as she was going to jump off again, the two soldiers appeared on the other side of the dummy titan, swinging by using lots of their gas.

"Are you almost done yet slow-pokes? A real titan would have devoured both of you in the time you've waisted."

Mya looked at the guy who was talking. He was very tall and lean, and had the face of a grinning idiot.

The guy swung around and came towards the dummy Titan as his buddy disappeared into the trees.

Suddenly, grappling hooks attached to the head of the dummy Titan and the grinning idiot appeared to be coming at full-speed to cut the nape of it.

"Too slow!!" he yelled as he whizzed past Mya to make a cool spin in the air. Asher looked very pissed.

"You're using too much gas again, asshole!" Asher yelled.

"Whaaaat??" yelled the guy, pretending to care.

Without warning, Mya heard a 'click' that came from the guy's gear. As he had swung himself up several feet above the head of the titan using lots of gas from his gear, the gas suddenly...was gone.

Time moved so quickly in the next several seconds as the guy who had been showing off, started to plummet down without any way to stop or slow down. She watched in horror as the guy started to yell out for help.

"Gas!! I'm out of gas!!"

Mya looked at Asher who seemed frozen. Could he not go down because of his fear?

Mya had to think fast. But there want even time for that.

Instinctively, it seemed, her body moved on its own.

She jumped down from the branch she was on and fired her hooks into the side of the head of the dummy Titan. Using her gas, she propelled herself several feet up above the titan. As she turned in the air, she could see the guy continuing to fall. His hooks were still attached to the titan, but at the height he was falling, he would break something from sudden tightening of the wires wrapped around him.

As Mya's body rotated enough so that she could see where the guy was falling, she fired her grappling hooks once again.

The hooks shot down, gripping the side of the Titan's face and hooking onto it.

As she spiraled down, with the gas from her gear allowing her to go top speed, she pulled out her blades and cut the wires that were attached to the dummy's neck.

In no hesitation, she continued to plummet down towards the guy who now had no grabbling hooks to stop him from hitting the ground.

The gas from Mya's gear blasted out from behind her as she inches closer and closer to the guy. He reached out to her as she felt the ground draw nearer. As soon as she had his hand, she fired her hooks straight ahead and then shot towards the tree.

Mya held the guy's hand and then managed to wrap her arm around his body as they made a fast, giant swing around the mid-length of a tree.

They appeared for only a second above the Commander, who had decided to come back to the area early to see if a certain trainee had managed to even try to attempt to learn maneuver gear.

He looked up to see a blur above him that looped around the pathway to the wooden are, several feet above him.

"What was that?!" said Commander June as the blur disappeared back into the fir trees. He scanned the trees above him. "Humph. Must be the big leagues who decided to show off today. It must be your lucky day, Captain."

Beside Commander June stood Captain Levi, who looked as though he had endured more than he had planned on when it came to the Commander's loud personality while on his way to the practice area for survey corps. He had run into June on the way and for the last ten minutes, June has managed to talk for nearly the entire trip there, only pausing to breathe, or bring up woman he was interested in that were in the military police.

They both walked into the clearing where the dummy Titan stood in the middle of the area. As they walked forward, a crowd of survey corps stood gathered in the middle and around the dummy Titan. Their heads tilted up towards the sky.

As the Captain and the Commander got closer, it was apparent that what the group was staring at wasn't in view yet.

As soon as they got by the others, they could see a small figure in the air, a hundred feet up above the dummy Titan. No, two figures.

As one held onto the other, they both plummeted down towards the dummy, revealing a cloud of gas behind them. One was a woman, and the other a man with the wings of freedom on the back of his jacket.

They inched closer to the head of the dummy, but before they could go any further, they began to spin in the air, helping them to slow down. Before, they could hit the dummy with full force, the woman took out her blades and slashed open the dummy Titan's nape. All before landing on their feet on top of the shoulder of the dummy.

The woman put her blades back into their sheathes and turned to the guy who sat on the shoulder of the dummy.

"Too slow?" she asked.

He gulped.

Another man from a tree nearby started cheering.

"Mya!!! That was amazing!!!"

Suddenly, the corps below started cheering and whistling to Mya as she stood on top of the dummy with the guy, who no longer had a silly grin on his face.

Maya and Asher helped the guy get to the ground safely and were soon surrounded by several corps that were a little more than impressed.

The guy's friend from earlier helped him sit down at the picnic table as he shook a bit for the trip.

Kathryn and Joe came up and started to give Asher and Mya a hard time.

"Why didn't you tell me you could do THAT?!" said Joe to Mya.

Mya shrugged as Kathryn hugged her.

Commander Rain was soon able to get a good look at the face of the woman who had exceeded expectations, and now looked at Mya in pure shock and annoyance.

Meanwhile, the Captain stared expressionless into the crowd of people surrounding Mya and Asher, allowing the Commander to finally shut up.

Hi!

I'm really happy of you made it this far.

I hope to continue writing for this because I really enjoy it.

I've never written anything for AOT before so I'm still trying to remember the right names for things (even though I'm all caught up on the anime and manga).

Let me know what you think so far!
