Maggie and Jubal travelled home in a comfortable silence he was letting her have some time to work some things out in her head, it wasn't easy for him to think about her not being home with him and them not knowing how long it would be. When they got home Maggie went in and sat down on the couch and she lay her head back closing her eyes.

"You know you are a very good liar Agent Valentine."

Jubal had gone in to the kitchen to make coffee and raised an eyebrow hearing Maggie "You care to share what I lied about?."

Maggie opened her eyes turning her head facing Jubal and chuckled softly "Introducing yourself to my family, I think my family might already know you."

"Hey, I had to come up with reasons as to why I was leaving with you and would be gone all day. I thought that made sense."

"It was a good lie, but you know part of it was true. You are going to have to be the contact with them, I can't contact them unless I'm with you and use your phone, I can't have anything being traced back to them."

Jubal came over to the couch carrying coffee for them both, he handed Maggie her cup before sitting down beside her "I promise you that I will keep them posted on as much as I can baby. You know I love your family so I don't mind talking to them at all. Now telling my sister about you going undercover that's different I'm not sure I'm brave enough for that one."

Maggie laughed softly "You just don't want your sister constantly annoying you and threatening to kick your ass if something happens me. I know what she is like, but we are telling her babe because I want her to spend some time with you. I won't be able to make contact with you everyday, I want you to have someone to talk to on the days that I can't."

Jubal sat his coffee cup down on the table and he moved closer to Maggie, he ran one of his hands though her hair slowly "Baby I promise you that I will be okay, I'll attend my AA meetings and I promise on the nights that it's really hard I'll contact Jen. I don't need you out there worrying about me, I need you totally focused on this assignment to make sure that you come home safe to me."

Jubal leaned in kissing Maggie slowly but with so much love, he nipped lightly at her bottom lip and ran his tongue along her lower lip letting out a soft moan when he felt his tongue brush against hers. He lifted his free hand cupping her cheek as he kept running his other hand through her hair slowly. Maggie moved her coffee cup out of the way so that she could pull Jubal closer to her running her hand up to his cheek gently. She lay her forehead against his when they broke the kiss.

Jubal ran his hand along her arm slowly "Why don't you call your family baby and tell them about what is going to be happening. Make sure they still have my number from Christmas so that they can contact me whenever they want to."

Maggie sat her coffee cup down and ran her hand along Jubal's arm slowly while the other was still on his cheek, her thumb caressing his jawline slowly. "You sure about that baby? Mel might be in contact with you a lot."

Jubal nodded even though their foreheads were pressed lightly against each other "I'm more than sure baby, they are your family so they can contact as much as they want. I know they will be worried about you."

"Why don't you tell Jen while I'm on telling my family and then we can go over the case file before we have some time together just the two of us." Maggie closed the short distance kissing Jubal, she really couldn't stop kissing him, she knew she wouldn't be able to do it for a while until she got settled in to the new assignment.

Jubal pressed a few small kisses to Maggie's lips when they had broke apart again for air. He really didn't want to move away from her but he knew that if they made their calls now then they could have some time together later just the two of them which he knew they both really wanted.

"Okay baby I'll go in to the spare room and ring Jen, you stay here and ring your family and then we will go over the case file." Jubal lightly pressed his lips to Maggie's before standing up reluctantly and he lifted his coffee heading in to the spare room to ring Jenny.

Maggie watched Jubal until she couldn't see him before she lifted her phone and she rang Melissa first and she happened to be with her parents so Maggie got her to change it to a FaceTime and she was able to see them while she told them as much as she could. She told Mel that Jubal had told her to check in with him as much as she wanted and that he would give them updates as much as he could to let them know that Maggie was safe. Maggie struggled saying goodbye to them as she knew she wouldn't be able to talk to them unless she was safe with Jubal. She closed her eyes to stop the tears from falling just as she heard Jubal's voice.

"Hey baby, I've a FaceTime that I think you'll want to take."

Maggie opened her eyes hearing Jubal and raised her eyebrow as he handed her the phone and her smile grew so wide as she looked at his screen. "Abby, Tyler.. hey you two.. aren't you guys meant to be at school?." Jubal came around and sat down behind Maggie wrapping his arm around her as he watched the screen.

Before the kids could reply Jenny appeared on the screen "They were but aunt Jenny was near by and wanted to pay them a visit."

Abby looked at the screen "Daddy said that we might not see you or talk to you for a little while because you have to go away for work."

Maggie nodded, how had she not thought about not being able to see the kids and talk to them, she had gotten so used to being able to do both lately. She really had built a strong relationship with them both.

Tyler wrapped his arm around Abby as he spoke "We wanted to tell you that we are going to really miss you and that we love you."

Abby smiled "Love you Mags."

Maggie had to bite her lip to stop any tears from falling, Jubal held her even tighter as he knew she was struggling with it all now. She took a second to make sure her voice was clear when she spoke

"I am going to miss you both so much, I love you both and make sure daddy give's you extra kisses and hugs from me when you see him."

"We will give Dad an extra hug and kiss to bring back to you" Tyler smiled at the screen.

"Hurry back home I need someone to help me colour when at your house" Abby smiled sweetly.

Maggie chuckled softly, still fighting back the tears "I promise that I will be home as soon as I can."

Jenny ran her hand over Tyler's and Abby's head "Okay kiddos, I have to get you two back in to class, so say bye bye to daddy and Mags."

Both the kids smiled waving saying that they loved their dad and Maggie, Jubal and Maggie waved at them saying they loved them too. Jenny appeared back on the screen briefly

"Mags I'll give you a text tonight, but you make sure you come back home safe to us all."

Maggie nodded "I will Jen and thank you."

Jen nodded ending the FaceTime and Maggie sat the phone on the couch and turned her head in to Jubal's neck letting the tears fall that she had been holding back. Jubal held her as tight as he could running his hand along her back slowly kissing her head.

"I'm sorry baby maybe it wasn't a good idea for me and Jenny to arrange that."

Maggie pulled her head out from Jubal's neck so that she could look at him "No, thank you so much for doing that babe. I just forgot that this would mean that I won't be able to see the kids and talk to them. I'm going to really miss them."

Jubal wiped Maggie's cheeks gently wiping away the tears with his thumb and he kissed her forehead leaving his lips there briefly "You don't have to thank me baby I know they would have been angry at me if I didn't let them say goodbye. We told them you had to go on a work trip. They are going to miss you just as much and they really do love you."

"Jubal, why the hell did I agree to this?" More tears ran down Maggie's cheek as she looked at him.

"Hey, you can do this baby. This just shows you how much the people in your life love you, means you have so many reasons to return home safe. You are a big part of all our lives Mags. It won't be easy baby but I know that you are going to save lives doing this assignment, kids lives, that's what we have to try and remember."

"Promise me you'll remind Abby and Tyler how much I love them. I don't want them to forget that." Maggie was running her fingertips along Jubal's goatee as that calmed her down a little.

"Oh baby I can easily promise you that they will never forget how much you love them. Jen and I will remind them so much of how much you love them. When you return home safely to us we can take some time and it just be me you and the kids."

"I'd really like that." Maggie lay her head on Jubal's shoulder as she kept brushing his goatee with her fingers "Can we stay like this while going over the case file?"

Jubal was sitting with his back against the arm of the couch with his legs stretched out along the couch and Maggie was sitting between his legs tight against his chest and stomach resting her head on his shoulder her forehead pressing in to his neck as the smell of him was calming down the tears.

"Of course we can baby." Jubal reached over lifting the case file opening it and holding it so that they could both read it as they made their way through it so that they both could remember everything inside it.
