As soon as the episode started, Chris was seen sitting in the cockpit of a plane with Chef flying it currently. "Hello viewers and reaction channels, it's Chris McLean here bringing you the first episode of our hit new season! All of the contestants are here with me on this plane, and I'm just waiting to spoiler alert, send them all plummeting down to our new island! Which of them will land on their feet and take the million? Find out and join us, because this is Total, Drama, Wuuuuuuuhuuu Island!" Chris raised his arms in his seat with each word of the season name, accidentally bumping his left hand into Chef when he mentioned Wuhu.
Intro: (Accompanied by I Wanna Be Famous)
The music started up with several cameras popping out of various different places on Wuhu Island, being a lighthouse, an ancient temple in ruins, and the top of a volcano. After that, Chris was seen standing on the Sugarsand Beach just near the tennis courts pushing Topher away since he was trying to copy Chris's pose.
Dear Mom and Dad I'm doing fine, you guys are on my mind
The camera zoomed past Chris and Topher, and into a pool near the hotel where Eli and Buford were seen swimming casually. Although Eli soon farted, grossing out Buford and making him swim out of the pool. As soon as Buford surfaced though, a ping pong ball hit him in the face and he fell right back into the pool.
You asked me what I wanted to be, and I think the answer is plain to see, that I wanna beeeeeeee famous!
The camera panned a bit away from the pool to show that Jiyeon and Benito were the ones playing ping pong, with Benito getting a sheepish look on his face from hitting Buford while Jiyeon just let out a sigh.
I wanna live close to the sun
The camera moved away from the hotel now and down a path that lead to massive red bridge that went over a river. Jo and Marty were jogging across the bridge, with the former glaring at the latter. Brick was just a little bit behind them, although he soon tripped and stumbled onto the two in front of him, knocking them all down. Aztaroth had watched the three fall from a distance, not bothering to help them out. He let out a small chuckle, earning him a miffed look from Anais who was standing right by him.
So pack your bags cuz I've already won
Aztaroth took a step back while Anais got knocked over by Axel on a bike, with the latter not caring at all that he just knocked someone over. Mitzy was a good distance away from them, drawing the scene in a sketchbook.
Everything to prove, nothing in my way, I'll get there one day
The camera followed Axel for a little bit as he rode into town, passing by a fountain with Max sitting on a bench in front of it. He had some kind of device in his hand he was working on, although Panini soon popped up from behind him with comical hearts appearing around her while she stared at Max. The evil genius screamed at the sight of her, getting off the bench and running away while Panini gave chase after that.
Cuz I wanna beeeeeee famous!
The camera moved past the fountain and past the buildings behind it, where Sua and Caleb were playing a game of basketball together. Caleb went for a three point shot but missed due to his height, sending the ball bouncing towards Cana. Cana was distracted by music in her headphones though, and got hit square in the face and angering her.
Na na na nana, nanananana, nanananana
Going past the basketball court and to the ocean, Bridgette and Beatrice were seen surfing on a wave together in their swimsuits. Bridgette noticed the camera and waved at it, although this distracted her and caused her to crash into Beatrice and make them both wipe out.
I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous!
The scene transitioned from the blue water to the gray walls of a plane where Beth and Chase were sitting with parachutes on just outside an open door that now showed it was nighttime. Chase threw a wink Beth's way, making her shudder. It got worse though, as Silvia popped up between them, rambling about something. Chef then shoved all three of them out.
I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous!
The three of them opened their parachutes, and the camera panned out to show the rest of the cast just a little bit below them with parachutes on as well. The whole cast whistled the remaining bit of the theme song as they all landed on the ground in front of the lighthouse that had the logo of the season on it, with Max's parachute failing at the last second and giving him a rough landing in front of everyone.
When the episode came back after the intro, the camera was now in the passenger cabin of the plane Chris was bringing all of the contestants to Wuhu Island. The passenger cabin itself greatly resembled the economy class from Total Drama World Tour. First seen was Caleb, a very short boy, rivalling Max in how short he was. He was white with tons of freckles and decently long ginger hair that went down to his neck. He was wearing black trousers, a white shirt with a black sweater on top of it with a queen pawn printed on it. With him he also had a handkerchief in a checker pattern around his neck. "What makes Chris think we'd put up with being cooped up in a plane like this? I bet he thinks we're all dumb little kids." Caleb complained, crossing his arms and looking out a window to see if they were there yet.
The person next to him raised an eyebrow, since Caleb himself looked like a small kid. This contestant was Axel, a native American boy with short and slicked back black hair. He was pretty averagely built, wearing a formal navy blue dress shirt with brown khakis and a pair of black socks and hiking boots. "Now now, I doubt that Chris has those kind of intentions yet. Just mind your manners and stay put for now." Axel told Caleb politely, getting an annoyed look from Caleb in response.
"As if I would, you know Chris could just blow up this plane right? Who knows what he has planned for us! Or are you just telling me to stay put since I look like a little kid!?" Caleb snapped back, already offended by Axel's polite comment.
Axel let out a small sigh and didn't respond to Caleb, not wanting to provoke him further. The camera panned over a little to show Sua leaning against some crates with a clear label saying parachute. One crate was yellow, one crate was blue, and one was pink. Sua herself was a Korean girl with chocolate brown waist length wavy hair that had dark pink highlights and a black ribbon on the back. She was wearing a fitted white turtleneck sweater, black skinny jeans held by a black belt, and black heeled boots that reached just past her ankles. She had heart earrings on as well, and her frame was very skinny. "What do you think these parachutes are gonna be used for?" Sua asked Beth, who was looking over them as well.
Beth let out a nervous gulp, not liking what the coloring hinted. "We might have to jump out of the plane... hopefully not right? Maybe when he lands the plane we'll use them for some kind of challenge where we have to carry them?" Beth tried to be optimistic, but it she didn't have much hope.
Sua however, liked hearing Beth's idea a lot. "That'd be pretty fun for a first challenge! It'd definitely strengthen teamwork for sure!" Sua replied cheerfully, doing a few small claps out of excitement.
The excitement was a bit contagious, and it cheered Beth up some. "Yeah! It makes more sense when you say it like that! I can totally see Chris using them like that now." Beth agreed, now gaining a wide smile.
Hearing the excitement, another new face walked up to the two. This was Beatrice, a Caucasian girl with a pink bowl cut and a slender build. She was wearing a sleeveless shoulder exposing pink top, blue denim cargo shorts, white socks, and pink sneakers with white laces. "What has you two so excited?" Beatrice asked them, curious in the matter.
Sua patted the crates when asked, stepping to the side after that so Beatrice could get a good look at them. "Beth and I were just talking about the crates here. We were wondering what Chris was gonna do with them." Sua answered, with Beth nodding to confirm.
Beatrice looked over the crates, although she didn't say the obvious since Sua and Beth were clearly happy at the moment. "Nice, we'll see what Chris has in store for us land dwellers soon I'm sure." Beatrice told them, walking back to where she was waiting before.
Where Beatrice was waiting before stood Marty, a chestnut colored boy with a black textured bob cut with purple tips. His build was a thin, but still toned. He was wearing a dark blue long-sleeved crop top, black skinny jeans, and white sneakers. "Hey, what's the tea with them?" Marty asked, also looking quite curious.
Beatrice shrugged, since it really wasn't much. "They're just looking at the crates, so no tea. Sorry." Beatrice answered, making Marty frown slightly.
"Huh, you'd think if they were that excited, they'd have a little more going on." Marty let out a small sigh, hoping for something interesting since the plane flight to Wuhu Island hadn't been very eventful.
Something kinda eventful happened right after he said that though, as the camera panned over to show Chase sitting close to Mitzy. Maybe a bit too close actually. Chase was a blonde scrawny boy with pale skin, the typical build for a pervert like him. He was wearing black sneakers, blue farmer jeans, a dark brown T-shirt and a brown hoodie with a bunch of pockets. Mitzy was a fair skinned girl with blonde hair with pink and cyan streaks on the front kept in a ponytail. She was wearing a pink jacket with a black star pattern on the heart area, blue pants, and black midcalf boots. She also looked pretty uncomfortable.
"Can I help you?" Mitzy asked him, getting sick of how close Chase was sitting to her.
Chase shook his head, moving back a couple feet. "I was just uhh, seeing what you were up to." Chase chuckled, playing innocent with her.
Mitzy rolled her eyes, scooting away from him on the bench as she did so. "I'm not up to anything. I'd be sketching, but the plane movements make that pretty much impossible." Mitzy replied, her tone still having a hint of friendliness in it.
Hearing that something was impossible however, the know-it-all of the cast, Anais, walked over to them and raised her finger in objection. She had pale skin clearly from not enough sunlight, and her frame was pretty thin too. She had long wavy black hair that went down to her waist behind her, and was wearing an orange smock with a white skirt and black sneakers. She also had on glasses that made her eyes look even bigger than they actually were. "Actually, in a hypothetical situation where you presumably had the necessary tools to perform your artistic endeavors, your abilities would not be hindered by the plane due to the appreciated lack of turbulence. You are thinking of a Boeing 747 or any other common passenger aircraft or commercial airliner, where there are minor vibrations that would cause troubling discrepancies." Anais corrected Mitzy, confusing both her and Chase.
Across from the bench Mitzy and Chase were sitting on, Max was glaring at Anais, already suspicious of her. He had a bad past with "geniuses", so hearing like 20 big words back to back from someone got him paranoid. This glare didn't go unnoticed though, as Panini was sitting near him and giggled once she saw who he was glaring at. "What's wrong Max? You think she's another Scarlett don 'cha?" Panini asked Max, moving a little closer.
Panini was on the smaller side, only just a little taller than Caleb and Max. She had pink hair that went in twin ponytails behind her, and cream colored skin. She was wearing a yellow hoodie with a green heart in the middle, black shorts, and white sneakers with Max's face drawn on them. Max turned to look at her, not trusting the enthusiasm from her either. "Don't speak her name! I'm not bothered either! Evil is not bothered simply by appearances! Evil bothers others! Mwahahahaha!" Max let out an evil laugh afterwards, which just made Panini watch in awe.
"Wow... that was pretty good first laugh of the season Max! Looking forward to what else you come up with~" Panini complimented his laugh, which just confused Max further.
Another person who was confused was Aztaroth, who was sitting just a bit further down the bench away from the two. He was a taller guy with an average frame and pale ivory skin, with black hair that went down to his neck and had bangs to cover the right side of his face. He was wearing a long black gothic coat with chains on it, red accents, and the card suits on the trim of the coat, a red dress shirt with a black intricately designed gothic vest, a black western bowtie with an ace of diamonds broach, black jeans with a chain attached to the belt loops, and black steel-toed boots. He also had on black fingerless leather gloves with small chains connecting his two outer knuckles. "I don't get why anyone is trying to befriend Max..." Aztaroth mumbled, not quite getting what Panini was up to.
One of the guys near Aztaroth made out his mumbling though and butted in, sitting down next to Aztaroth. This was Eli, a happy go lucky looking fat fellow with decently pale skin and short and curly light brown hair. He was wearing a black jacket that sort of hid his weight and brown baggy pants with sneakers. "Aww come on, why can't they just make friends with someone to make friends with someone! More friends never hurts anyone you know." Eli commented cheerfully, chuckling a little afterwards.
"Unless you get too many friends and they start to turn on you. I like to make sure the people I befriend are actually my friends." Aztaroth retorted, not even looking Eli's way.
Jo was leaning against a wall next to the bench the guys were sitting on, giving a nod of approval upon hearing Aztaroth's words. "I can respect that. Someone who keeps their head in the game isn't going to get backstabbed. I'd watch yourself if I were you tubby. I'd also hit the gym, but I'm glad I'm not you." Jo warned and insulted Eli at the same, who just hung his head in shame and walked away from them.
As Eli walked away from them, Brick jogged over to him from behind and gave Eli a pat on the back. "Don't mind them. Jo just likes to tear others down. Trust me, I've put up with plenty from her." Brick assured Eli, which lightened his mood a little.
"Thanks man. I guess not everyone wants to be as friendly as others." Eli thanked Brick, to which the cadet gave him a salute and then jogged away.
As Brick jogged away, he nearly bumped into Cana, who listening to music in headphones and walking around a bit aimlessly. "Sorry, I thought you were going to step out of the way there." Brick apologized, giving her a quick salute.
Cana gave a wave of dismissal, not bothered at all. She was a Caucasian girl with brown hair having the right side shaved and the other side being long. She was wearing Nike sneakers, skinny jeans with rips in the front, a black shirt with no sleeve on the right side with the words 'EDM forever' on the front, and a bracelet on her right hand that had a locket. "Don't worry about it. My bad." Cana apologized back casually, then walking past Brick.
Another person ended up nearly bumped into Cana as well, this being Topher. "Hey, anyone seen Chris around here? This is really weird, normally he'd introduce himself by now." Topher asked everyone as he jogged through the plane cabin.
Once Topher jogged a bit further down the cabin, he was met by Silvia, who didn't like the repeated questions from him. She was on the chubbier side, having pale skin and medium length brown curly hair. She was wearing a black shirt with a purple BTS logo on the front, jean shorts, and red heels. She also had on a necklace with a little plate that had "BTS Army" engraved on it. "Why do you need to know where Chris is? He's gonna show up eventually. You should stop being so focused on one person." Silvia told him, filing her nails while she spoke.
Topher wanted to call out the blatant hypocrisy, but he just smirked and walked past her. "If you say so, I'll just wait by the door then." Topher replied nonchalantly, heading to the other side of the cabin where the door to the cockpit was.
When Topher arrived at the door to the cockpit, Buford was already standing near it with a bored look on his face. "It's locked. I was gonna ask how long it was until we got there, but no answer if you knock either. So don't try." Buford told Topher bluntly, having his arms crossed while he spoke.
Buford was a tall wiry guy with caramel colored skin and a black short flat top for hair. He was wearing a black t-shirt with a big white 20 on the front, green shorts, and green shoes. Topher let out a sigh when he heard Buford, and then just leaned against the wall to wait. "Man, Chris must be planning something really cool if he's taking this long." Topher kept a somewhat optimistic tone, but Buford didn't really care too much.
"You know that everyone else knows that you were just trying to steal Chris's job right? Why are you still sucking up to him?" Buford asking, cutting right to the point again. It'd definitely take some getting used to.
Topher was taken aback by the question, struggling to come up with an answer at first. "I uhh, just got over my jealousy to take his job? Not sure what you want me to say there. I'm still a big fan of his." Topher answered, clearing his throat after the first sentence and trying to stay casual.
Buford had some suspicion, but it was clear that Topher wasn't going to give the most honest answers, so he just noted the information and possible lie from the host wannabe. "Interesting. We'll just have to wait and see what Chris does to us then." Buford said after a small moment of silence, then going right back to saying nothing after that.
The camera moved away from them now that they were being quiet, now cutting to the opposite end of the passenger cabin where Jiyeon had just walked out of the bathroom. She was a pale Asian girl with straight black hair that had a blunt bang across her forehead that swept her eyebrows. She was wearing a pair of jean shorts and a white t-shirt with a large picture of a puppy on it. She also had blue converse-style sneakers with white socks peaking out over the top, having cat ears on said socks. "What happened in there? You were in there for a while." Bridgette asked, having been waiting to use the bathroom.
Jiyeon right away felt awkward being asked a question, twiddling her thumbs as she tried to come up with an answer. "Well umm, the toilet wasn't flushing right. Not because I went a lot, just it wasn't working well. The sink was one of those weird ones too where you have to put your hands under to get the water to come out. I kept shoving my hand underneath repeatedly and it just didn't work. Sorry I took so long..." Jiyeon stammered and apologized, confusing Bridgette a little.
"Alright? Thanks for the heads up!" Bridgette thanked her simply, not wanting to make the poor girl any more awkward than she already was right now.
Once Bridgette walked past Jiyeon to enter the bathroom, the other person waiting in line gave a friendly wave to Jiyeon. "Hola! How has your day been?" he greeted, keeping a friendly tone. This was Benito, a very tall Mexican guy with long and tousled dark brown hair to the neck, hair pointing in different directions, and tousled bangs on the right side of his forehead. But because of the cap he was wearing, the hair stuck out, and the bangs did not. He was easily the tallest contestant in the cast. He was wearing a white jumper over a dark gray buttoned shirt with the collar unbuttoned and short sleeves. He also wore black jeans and black sneakers. On his head was a black standard, classic cap, the visor of which was tilted back. On his face was a black half-mask respirator through which Beni's face was invisible.
Jiyeon gave a quick wave, the awkward feelings she had not going away, "My day has been fine, not looking forward to what Chris has in store for us though." Jiyeon answered, laughing nervously afterwards.
Benito was just as confused as Bridgette was, not getting what brought such a weird attitude from a simple question. "I'm not looking forward to it either, but we're on Total Drama, isn't that super cool?" Benito tried to cheer her up, smiling down at her.
Jiyeon tensed up at the attempt to cheer her up, starting to back away from him. "Wait, are you saying I'm wrong? I'm wrong aren't I? Sorry for not being positive, I uhh, didn't see it the way you did. Thanks though, umm, bye!" Jiyeon stammered out her response, then walking away to go sit by herself.
Before Jiyeon could find somewhere in the passenger cabin to sit by herself though, the camera panned over back to the door to the cockpit, where Chris walked into the passenger cabin wearing a brown parachute of his own. "Hello vacationers! Are you all ready for a grueling season surrounded by paradise you could only hope to have?" Chris asked the contestants, a sinister grin on his face.
"Yes!" Topher and Sua both answered in unison, looking very excited to compete. Anais however saw Chris wearing the parachute and promptly walked over to the crates marked as parachutes and opened up the yellow one since it was on the top, grabbing a parachute for herself.
Chris wasn't surprised that Topher was excited, but Sua being excited confused him a little. "So this batch had a couple of keeners slip in I see. Oh well, you'll all lose that oomph eventually." Chris commented as he walked by them.
The host made his way to the emergency exits of the cabin, which were right in the middle on opposite walls parallel to each other. "I'm not going to blow up the plane, since we don't have the budget to do so, but you're all gonna have to jump out since we don't have clearance to actually land. There are some parachutes in the crate over there for all of you to wear and save yourselves with when falling from the sky." Chris stated, pointing at the three crates.
"But Chris, each of these crates only have 7 parachutes. That's not enough for all of us." Beth pointed out, since she was now looking through them as she was already standing next to them.
Chris ignored Beth, now walking over to one of the emergency exits and opening up the door. "You'll jump out of these emergency exits and land hopefully somewhere close to Wuhu Island. Try to go for the beach, since that'd be the least harsh landing and I have everything set up there." Chris explained what they had to do, now prompting Jo to make a beeline for the crates and shove past everyone.
"Out of the way! I'm getting a parachute before anyone else!" Jo shouted, also grabbing one of the yellow parachutes since they were on the top. No one had noticed yet, but the yellow parachutes had a logo of a trophy on them, the blues ones had a logo of Chris's face, and the pink ones had a logo of the female gender symbol.
Chris stifled a laugh as Jo grabbed one of the yellow parachutes, walking over to the other wall and opening the other emergency exit as he did so. "Alright, you all better get jumping! None of the parachutes are bogus, so you'll all be fine!" Chris ordered, stepping away to watch everyone jump out.
Jo was the first to jump out, soon followed by Anais. Max was another one of the greedy ones who grabbed a yellow parachute, getting ready to jump when he was suddenly hugged by Panini. "Look Max! I got a yellow parachute too! Isn't that just romantic? We're already matching!" Panini showed him her parachute, smiling at him brightly.
Max pulled himself out of the hug, pushing her out of the plane in response. "Evil does not do romance!" Max yelled at her as she fell, before jumping out of the plane soon after.
Buford was the next person to grab a yellow parachute, not caring about anyone else that had been waiting for one. Axel grabbed a yellow parachute as well, since he had been walking right behind Buford while waiting. The two of them jumped out, and the yellow crate was tossed aside since all the yellow parachutes were gone now.
As soon as the blue crate was opened up, Silvia and Topher pulled blue parachutes out of it and jumped out. While he fell, Topher looked down and noticed the deployed parachutes of the others and laughed as he saw the trophy logo on the top of the parachute's canopy. "Looks like waiting a little paid off. Oh wait, if I grabbed a blue one does that mean..." Topher paused and looked up at his own parachute's canopy to see the logo of Chris's face.
"Heck yes! I got the Chris one! Talk about getting lucky!" Topher cheered for himself, although he turned to his left and let out a groan as he saw that Silvia had also gotten a blue one.
Next to jump out with blue parachutes were Aztaroth and Mitzy, with Mitzy deploying hers nearly immediately and Aztaroth letting himself plummet for a while before pulling the cord on his and letting it come out. "A shame for the ratings that they all worked. It would have been a fun gamble if only some of them worked." Aztaroth commented to no one, just speaking to himself since everyone else was far above him.
Sua, Eli, and Jiyeon all soon jumped out of the plane with the remaining blue parachutes, although even with the help of the parachute, Eli was falling just a bit faster than everyone else. Jiyeon was looking down at Wuhu Island nervously, not liking being this high up in the sky. Sua was enjoying herself though, swinging herself back and forth while descending for fun.
Now all that were left on the plane were pink parachutes, which only bothered Caleb. "Of course I'm getting the last batch, everyone looking down on me..." Caleb muttered, still waiting his turn like a good boy to grab his parachute.
One by one, the seven pink parachutes were taken and those who took them jumped out of the plane. Beth was the first of those with pink parachutes, then followed by Beatrice, Cana, Marty, Benito, and Caleb. Brick stayed on the plane though, looking out with fear. He had a pink parachute in his hands, while Chase was standing near him still holding onto a yellow parachute. "What's the matter man? Can't jump 'cuz you're scared?" Chase teased Brick, waiting for him to jump.
Brick shook his head, then looking towards the bathroom as Bridgette walked out. "I could not in good conscience leave without making sure everyone else has a parachute." Brick answered, trying to keep his stern tone.
Chase held up his parachute upon hearing the response, then gesturing to Bridgette. "I've got her covered, you can go." Chase told him in a bit of a hurried tone, wanting Brick to leave as soon as possible.
Brick gave a salute and nodded, then jumping out of the plane now that he knew everyone would be fine. Bridgette walked over, wondering where everyone went. "What happened while I was using the bathroom?" Bridgette asked Chris, who was also still there.
"Everyone grabbed parachutes to jump out the plane, looks like your bathroom break cost you one though. You'll have to jump without one." Chris told her, shocking Bridgette.
Chase swooped in though, showing off his parachute. "Don't worry babe, guess what I've got here? The two of can hug all the way down, just you and me. How's that sound?" Chase asked her, which disgusted Bridgette more than it relieved her.
Another thing that made Bridgette back away was the logo on said parachute, some bad memories being brought up because of it. "You know what? I'll just jump. Beats going down with a creep." she replied, walking to an emergency exit and reluctantly jumping down.
Chase rolled his eyes at Bridgette's very warranted denial of his offer, walking over to the emergency exit she jumped out of and taking his dive next. "What a loser, it's not like she isn't prone to cheat, so why say no to me?" he asked himself, just a bit salty at the turndown.
The 22 contestants all fell from the sky at various speeds of descent, with Bridgette just absolutely plummeting. They all landed near Sugarsand Beach though, which was just the name of the beach that extended out from the rest of Wuhu Island near the hotel. Bridgette of course was the first one there, landing in the water near the beach thankfully for her. She surfaced and swam to shore, looking up and seeing everyone else descend slowly.
It took around 10 minutes for everyone else to reach the beach, with half of them landing on the sand and the rest landing in the water around it. Everyone except for Beatrice got out of the water, with her just sitting down and relaxing in the shallow water. "What's the plan now? Chris isn't here." Buford asked, looking around and waiting for someone to answer.
Axel decided to take charge for now, waving his arms up to direct their attention. "While we wait for our host to arrive, why don't we take some time to get to know each other better?" Axel suggested loudly, which sounded like a simple enough idea to the others and everyone just started to chat with one another. Some obviously didn't get involved with anyone else, those being Chase, Jiyeon, and Caleb.
Topher of course took this as a opportunity to one up Chris since he wasn't here, waving to get everyone's attention as well. "I'LL handle the hosting while Chris isn't here, I've actually been going to film school to prepare for this kind of thing. So why don't we have everyone get into groups based on the color of the parachute you grabbed? These will be your teams obviously." Topher ordered everyone, which everyone pretty much ignored.
Chris soon landed on the sand after Topher's attempt to take over, not having heard anything that he had said thankfully for Topher. "Okay everyone, welcome to Wuhu Island! This is where you'll be staying for the summer! A tropical paradise with so many fun activities to do!" Chris introduced the island, making it sound nice surprisingly.
Being that it was Chris, many were suspicious. "Where is the bad part? We know you're not gonna give us something that nice." Mitzy asked, stepping closer to Chris to hear him better, as did the others soon after. They formed a semi-circle around Chris, all paying attention to him.
"Well you'll be competing against each other, among other things. The producers said we got better ratings when we weren't trying to kill the contestants, so we're dialing back the danger factor. As you all saw with the fact that your parachutes all functioned." Chris replied, looking a little disappointed to be saying this.
Some people let out sighs of relief, while Topher yet again saw a chance to poke at Chris. "So you're saying that doing things your own way didn't work? Maybe the producers are seeing things my way after all." Topher chuckled, getting a glare from Chris.
"Cool it Topher, I can still eliminate and disqualify anyone whenever I want." Chris warned him, which was plenty enough to shut Topher up.
Just because Topher was shut up though, didn't mean that the others were going to. Silvia now stepped forward, holding up her parachute. "Are the parachute colors gonna decide the teams we're on? Because it's pretty even. That's what Topher said you were gonna do." Silvia immediately took the chance to throw Topher under the bus, which just made Chris more annoyed with his wannabe.
"No, I never said that's how the teams were going to be formed. You all need to stop jumping to conclusions. Because your first challenge won't even be done in teams! That's right, you'll all be flying solo for your first challenge of the season!" Chris replied, getting a few gasps from the crowd.
Chris nodded to confirm the disbelief on some of the contestants' faces, walking through the middle of the crowd and up the hill the went from the beach towards the main road that went along the edge of the island. "You'll all be competing for invincibility in the first elimination ceremony, with the first three places being the ones that get invincibility!" Chris announced, with the crowds of contestants now following him.
The contestants still didn't know what exactly what they were doing, but the answer was soon pretty obvious as once the reached the road, they saw that there were 22 green bikes parked on the side of the road. "You'll be doing a lap around the island on bikes in a race! It'll give you all a nice introduction to the island and fire up that competitive spirit I need from all of you to bring up the ratings!" Chris announced what the challenge, which didn't sound too bad.
The more athletic contestants like Jo and Benito were looking forward to this challenge, since it looked to just be a bike race. "So can we just get started then? Or do we have to play it fair and square and line up for the whole shebang?" Marty asked, already starting to cross the street as did Jo and Benito.
"You can... when we return!" Chris began, getting each of them to groan in annoyance. After that, Chris turned to face the camera, now just completely ignoring the contestants behind him. "Who will come out on top in the bicycle race? Who will be the first one kicked off in our mysterious new method of departure? Find out next time, on Total, Drama, Wuhu Island!" he did the usual episode outro, and the episode soon ended after that.
Well everyone, that was part 1 of the first episode! This was just an introduction, as well as some foreshadowing, like most first episodes of canon went when it was a two parter. Thanks again to everyone who submitted character for this again, regardless of if they made it in or not. Just having that many people interested in this just gets me excited to bring episodes of this to you guys! Hopefully I nailed everyone's introductions here, and don't worry, they'll all be fleshed out more as we go on. Thanks for reading and be sure to review if you any feedback or thoughts to give!
A thing I do want to ask you guys though, now that everyone has been introduced, have your predictions from when I asked last time changed? Or are they still roughly the same? Let me know in your review if they did and I'll see you all next episode!
