Chapter 2: Housing Changes
Len woke in the middle of the night biting his lip to stop from screaming. He had been having a nightmare, he couldn't shake the image of Lewis looming over his sister with a broken beer can out of his head and he was pretty sure he wasn't getting back too sleep with Mick snoring the way he was. He was four yet he sounded like a chainsaw. Len sighed and sat up and he felt a sharp pain in his ribs. For some odd reason he really wanted to go to Barry, but he couldn't walk. He thought about screaming but that could bring Joe instead of Barry, Len then remembered that he may not be able too walk but he was pretty sure he could crawl. He grabbed his pillow and threw it onto the floor too make a landing pad, then before he could decide that it was a bad Idea he rolled off the bed. He felt a popping sound in his ribs that didn't at all feel good. He went too crawl before he realized he was bigger than he was before. He then decided too try walking. He stood up with ease and took a few steps, he managed too not fall over. He then grabbed his pillow and toddled out of his and Mick's room and went down the hall. Two doors were opened and the other wasn't. The closest one was shut. He peeked into the next one too see it was Joes which meant the last room was Barry when he got to the room he pushed the door open more toddled in and over to Barry's bed. Barry's hand was hanging off so he grabbed and pulled on it. Barry groaned awake "What do you need Len"
"Nigh'mare" Len says
"You want too stay with me?" Barry asked
"Yeah" Len says reaching up, Barry reached down and pulled him up into the bed
"You grew some. Actually you grew quite a bit"
"Ya, I walked" Len says
"Mm that's good. Now go too sleep" Barry says
"Okay" Len says laying his head against barry and going back too sleep, Len woke early the next morning too Joe coming in the room
"Barry I cant find Snart" Joe says
"I thought we talked about not referring too them by there last names. Len's right here, he had a nightmare" Barry says "Also look at this"
"He's bigger. That's not good"
"What do you mean that's not good this is great"
"The older they get the harder they are too contain" Joe says
"Too contain? Do you even care about them at all?" Barry asks
"They are criminals Barry, dont get attached" Joe says
"They were criminals, we can fix that now" Barry says Len looked up at him, he could see barry was trying not too run off. Barry was holding him tightly
"Too tight bawwy" Len says
"Sorry darling" Barry says, len smiled, no one, not even his past dates, had ever called him darling before, he kind of liked it "Joe, I'm going too get them too star labs and then go talk too the chief. I think it's best that I take care of them rather than you"
"You dont even have a place of you're own"
"I'll find one" Barry says "Len can you go back too you're room for a minute while I get dressed. Then I'll get both of you"
"We dont hav clothes yet" Len says
"I know and that may have too wait until tomorrow. We'll see how today goes" Barry says
"Okay" Len says Barry set him down and he made his way too his and Mick's room
"What was with the arguing I heard" Mick asks
"Barry doesnt agree with Detective West having us. So he's gonna find and place and keep us instead"
"You're bigger" Mick says
"So are you" Len says
"Holy shit" Mick says
"Languge Mick" Barry said coming in "The two of you ready. We'll eat at the lab"
"Yeah" Len says Barry picked them both up and started too run too the Lab. Len clung too barry, he didnt like the fast speed it kind of made him woozy. But usually he liked speed so he was confused about that.
"Easy, we're here" Barry said when they goot too the Lab "Caitlin how soon can you look them over"
"I can do it now" Caitlin says taking Len from Barry. Len tried squirming away from her, the only one he liked was barry "Easy, I need too check you over" Len huffed and crossed his arms over his chest "Barry did you drop him"
"The bruise on his eye appeared last night during his bath" Barry says
"I'm nt talking about that. He has massive bruising on his right side" Caitling tentatively touched Len's side "That's a broken rib"
"Joe and I think he was abused as a child" Barry says
"If that's the case, we need too find a way too slow at least his aging down too normal. He looks about three yesterday he was two"
"Why?" Barry says
"If injuries appear on his body in the time span he got them as a child then we dont want too be overwhelmed I'm going too assume they get worse as he gets older"
"Daddy wasnt able too hurt me much when I was wittle" Len says "Pappi kept me after mama's death"
"How did you get a broken rib" Caitlin asks
"Cow" Len says "Pappi had cows, it kicked me"
"And the black eye"
"That was from daddy" Len says
"I'll get too work on something too slow their aging down too normal" Cisco says
"Alright, Leonard I'm going too need too take a little bit of blood"
"Okay"
"I dont like this, but you're right about his injuries" Barry says while caitlin was drawing Len's blood. Len was bitting his Lip
"There we go. You did good" Caitlin says "Mick, your turn"
"No" Mick says
"Sorry, you dont have a choice" Caitlin says Barry passed Mick over to her and picked Len up instead, he then carried Len over to cisco, The two of them spoke about something but Len wasnt really paying attention he felt tired after getting his blood drawn
"You hear that Lenny" Barry said after a few minutes
"Mm?" Len said
"Untill I find a place of my own we're gonna stay with Cisco" Barry says "we'll move you're and Micks stuff over after I get off work today"
"M'kay" Len says
"Mick appears to be fine" Caitlin says "He's also demanding food"
"I hungry to," Len says. He was now sitting on the table next to Cisco
"Alright, I'll run by and get you two some biscuits then I have too head to work" Barry says running off
