Chapter Three: Papillon

"Nooroo, this worked perfectly. Ladybug and Cat Noir has been summoned, and they have no clue what they are doing while I've learned from Hawkmoth's mistakes," a girl chuckled.

"Master, the miraculous isn't supposed to be used this way!" Nooroo said.

"You don't think I already know that?" the girl asked her kwami. Nooroo shrunk.

"No- No, Master, it's just that you-"

"Are?" The girl eyed the kwami nervously fidget with one of it's antennae. "I'm well aware miraculous aren't made to be used for personal gain, but this is my one chance… If I am able to fix everything I have caused that is all I need to do. I just need to send a message to Paris. Nooroo- dark wings, rise!" Purple light engulfed her and there stood her superhero identity- Papillion. Dark hair went like a waterfall down her back, a butterfly on the back of her head like a bow, a mask that was shaped in an awkward butterfly, silver gloves with a purple jumper and purple cape, she had a cane like thing that worked as her weapon, and silver butterfly wings on her back that continuously fluttered up and down. "Fly my little akuma, and darken the heart of anyone in your path!"

"We should probably get along," Luka said, as Ava looked away from him, indifferent.

"Why? I have no reason to," Ava said. "Especially with Tom being your best friend." Ava's eyes widened at her calling Thomas "Tom." She quickly corrected herself. "I- I mean Thomas." Luka looked at the girl, surprised by her reaction. No one called Thomas "Tom," well, at least no one he knew personally. He knew one person called him that, but who was it? Luka couldn't quite remember.

"Just because Thomas is my friend doesn't mean you can't be my friend!"

"It could mean you're just like him! A no-good, you-may-be-my-friend-now-but-not-later kinda person!" Ava quickly covered her mouth. She pursed her lips and looked at Luka. "Don't you dare try and be my friend that freely again. I don't trust just anyone, and I don't give everyone a freebie to be my friend. I have walls, and why? Because of Thomas. Don't test me."

"I- uh- I didn't-" Luka was at a loss for words. What had he done wrong?

"I don't care what you did or didn't do. All I care is that I don't fall again, thank you very much," Ava said, so much as ignoring Luka.

"AVA!" a girl with light brown hair ran in front of the girl. "Look!" The girl showed Ava her phone, and Ava gasped.

"Is that…?"

"CAT NOIR! HE'S BACK!" That made everyone turn and look.. BRING! AKUMA ALERT! AKUMA ALERT!

"The akuma alert is back on! Mima said I could rerun the Ladyblog again, and now Nina will make her GRAND ENTRANCE!" Nina declared. "See ya'll!" Nina sprinted out of the class room, phone in hand. Ava followed, just to sneak away.

"Tikki, SPOTS ON!"

"I am Cameraman! I am the best cameraman there is!" a weird looking akuma announced. The akuma had a camera as a head, or was it wearing it like a mask? Definitely a mask. And it definitely where the akuma was held.

"And I am Lady Crimson, the new Ladybug, but surely not the best," Crimson mocked. She adopted the name Lady Crimson because she knew Noire wouldn't stop until it became her name. So, really, whatever. It didn't matter. A name was a name. A title was a title. There was no reason to fix what wasn't broken.

"And I'm Noire, quickly equal to Cat Noir," Noire said, getting to the scene.

"Oh, really, Prince Noire?" Crimson said, making her voice a little loud, to make sure everyone got his new name.

"Ah, Prince does have a good ring to it," Noire said. "It fits like your hand would fit in mine." Crimson glared at him.

"My hand isn't going to fit in yours, like, ever," Crimson shot. That's when a light shined brightly above them.

"Paris, I am Papillion. You may've defeated Hawkmoth, but beware, my power comes from his mistakes," a voice said. The picture around her made it hard to make out any facial features, as white butterflies flew around her. "Now, make this easy, and give me your miraculous. You remember what happened with Ladybug." Papillion let out a low scoff. "She sent the city up in flames. Now, we don't want that happening again, do we?"

"That won't happen, and you think we can't learn, do you? I'm wiser than you think!" Crimson said. "Your choice!"

"Take their miraculous," Papillion said and the light flickered off. If Cameraman had a face, he'd be smiling.

"The akuma is in the camera-head," Crimson said, and Noire nodded. He slinked into the background, the shadows concealing where he was going. Crimson threw her yo-yo up after a little bit of hesitancy, and it caught on the Eiffel Tower, launching her up. She scream a bit, but swung around, flailing her legs, and kicking Cameraman, down. "Lucky charm?" A hammer dropped and landed on Cameraman's camera, and Crimson threw her yo-yo up and caught the butterfly.

Noire jumped at her, scaring her. "I was expecting to use my power, but clearly you got the cat in the bag!"

"Wow, let's just fix everything," Crimson said, throwing her hammer in the air, fixing all damage. "Miraculous ladybug!"

"I can see why the cats fall for the ladybugs," Noire said.

"I can see why I need to leave. You didn't use your power, but I did, and I have five minutes. Goodbye, Prince," Crimson said, taking the stairs down to the ground.

"This is sooooo cool!" Nina said, spinning around on her toes.

"Of course it is, Nina, but it's not really my thing," Ava said, humming as she sketched.

"But the names are so cool! Lady Crimson and Prince Noire! It's like a storybook!" Nina said. "I already ship them! Ladynoire? No, what about Crimoire? Yeah, that'll be it!"

"Seriously? You're just shipping them even though they've only fought once together?" Ava asked, not looking up.

"Ava, the bugs and cats are born to be together! Without one, there is not the other!" Nina said. "It was posted on my mima's blog! Destruction and Creation, there has to be a balance!"

"Interesting, although they probably have lives behind their masks. They could already have a girlfriend or boyfriend," Ava said.

"Oh, but it's so cute," Nina said.

"Again, life behind the mask," Ava said. Nina shook her head.

"Would Prince Noire be flirting with Lady Crimson if he had a girlfriend? (Or boyfriend, who am I to judge?)" Nina asked.

"Lady Crimson didn't seem to like it, though," Ava stated, bluntly.

"Doesn't mean they don't look cute together!" Nina practically sang. "I mean, yeah, sure, Lady could be dating, but forget the other guy, Prince is really cute!"

"The next thing you'll say is that me and Luka look cute together," Ava said, groaning.

"You two do look cute together!" Nina said.

"No! I was saying that that was a bad thing!" Ava said.

"You brought it upon yourself, Aves!" Nina said.

"Don't. Call. Me. Aves. You know I don't like nicknames," Ava groaned.

"You've been groaning a lot, give Luka a chance," Nina said.

"I can't risk what happened between me and Thomas happening between me and Luka! I just can't!" Ava said. She jerked up and stormed out of the room.

"Ava! Wait!" Nina shouted.

"Weren't you a bit harsh?" Tikki asked.

"She can't just tell me to give Luka a chance," Ava barked at her kwami. "Thomas broke me, and that's all I'm saying." Tikki looked hurt, but Ava had tears in her eyes. With a sigh, Ava said, "Maybe I was a bit harsh, but…" Silence followed.

"You don't have to answer. It's clearly a soft spot for you," Tikki said, softly.

Yes, yes it was a soft spot. Ava could only wonder what had happened to the Thomas she used to know.

AN: I dub the love square- Lukady, Anoire, Crimoire, and Lukava. I betcha can guess what ship is what, so I don't care to tell you. And paw-sibly if there is a kwami switch it'd be Princess Noire and Sir Red, so the three love squares with that would be Lukoire, Rava, and Prinsir (there might be better ideas- if you have an idea please tell me!)
