Vaughn registered that the entity that just flew out of the Gate was flying directly towards him, on reflex he activated one of his Wraith racial skills [Incorporeal Form] allowing it to pass right though him. As the very short time frame for the ability ran its course, he turned to see who or what he had just avoided.

On the ground 10 feet away was a young woman in a black and red Victorian style dress with silver hair. She was picking herself up from the fall when she blushed profusely, "Is this what Lord Peroroncino called 'abandonment play'?" She quietly asked herself.

Unfortunately for Vaughn, it was still loud enough to be heard as he was just about to offer her a hand up. He quickly schooled himself and calmed down before he could lose his cool in front of the Guardians that were present. As he was opening his mouth to tell Shalltear to chill, another figure walked into his line of sight moving towards the loli vampire.

Crossing her arms, this woman looked down at Shalltear with exasperation. "Shalltear, why would you ever even think about jumping into Lord Vaughn? He probably let you fall because he doesn't want to deal with your antics." The woman turned and bowed to Vaughn, "I apologise, my Lord, please forgive her."

He knew this woman better than anyone, she was Rivas Ruby, the guardian of the third floor, and most importantly his own creation. She was slightly more colored than Shalltear because she wasn't a Vampire, but a Dhampire, a half Vampire half Human. As she stood up from her bow, Vaughn noticed two things, first were her mesmerizing eyes, one a glowing blood red, the other was a deep glowing blue. The second thing was the concession he had to make with Pero to get the third floor for his creation, that being the ridiculously oversized bust of the woman, the precise words of the Avian player was "Only Albedo can have larger melons than her." Vaughn had asked him why to which he had said something along the lines of "Bukubuku got the extra 100 npc levels I wanted to use to make a busty counterpart to Shalltear." Vaughn could only sigh and agree as he had had to use real money to buy a small expansion just to create her.

"It's fine Rivas, just keep her from doing anything foolish." Vaughn replied to his creation. As she turned to scold Shalltear some more Vaughn caught the slightest hint of a blush on her face. He thought about why for a moment before mentally facepalming, flavor text, again. When he was writing her flavor text he had specified that she had been born outside of Nazarick and was hunting for her Vampire father. Vaughn had helped her to kill him and brought her back here and she had sworn to aid and protect her new home. While she would always behave respectfully to Vaughn, and she barely admits it to herself, she has a textbook tsundere case for him.

'Hell, now I'm going to have to take my own advice.' Vaughn thought as he stood next to Momonga, waiting for the rest of the Guardians.

As they stood there Momonga leaned over to him and said "Sebas just sent me a message, I asked him to come down here to deliver his report."

"Good decision guild master, although if you're going to be the ruler of Nazarick you should order, not ask. Just some food for thought." Vaughn said as he looked off to the side seeing Rivas lecturing Shalltear about why it was never okay to attempt to tackle one of the supreme beings. Vaughn was surprised by how Shalltear and Rivas treated each other as sisters, Shalltear even called her "big sis" a time or two when trying to interject in the scolding.

"Rivas. It. Is. Bad. Manners. To. Speak. To. The. Other. Guardians. In. Such. A. Tone. In. Front. Of. The. Supreme. Beings." The tall blue insectoid form of Cocytus said as he approached "I. Know. That. You. Are. The. Newest. Of. The. Guardians. But. That. Doesn't. Excuse. The. Disrespectful. Actions. Before. Supreme. Ones."

"Calm, Cocytus." Vaughn said, holding up his hand. "Shalltear nearly hurt herself because she committed a foolish action, so I asked Rivas to teach her the error of her ways."

"I. See. I. Apologize. For. Attempting. To. Interrupt. One. Of. Your. Orders. Lord. Vaughn." Cocytus bowed his head.

"It's fine Cocytus, just think to ask yourself 'why' next time." Vaughn said, looking past him to see Albedo walking towards the rest of the gathered Guardians with the nicely suited Demiurge behind her.

As the two of them joined the line, Rivas and Shalltear broke off their conversation to join the line as well. As soon as the last two individuals closed ranks, all of the Guardians genuflected, before speaking in turn.

"I, Shalltear Bloodfallen Guardian of the first and second floors of the Great Tomb of Nazarick, swear my fidelity to the Supreme Beings."

"I, Rivas Ruby Guardian of the third floor of the Great Tomb of Nazarick, swear my fidelity to the Supreme Beings."

"I. Cocytus. Guardian. Of. The. Fifth. Floor. Of. The. Great. Tomb. Of. Nazarick. Swear. My. Fidelity. To. The. Supreme. Beings."

"I, Aura Bella Fiore Guardian of the sixth floor of the Great Tomb of Nazarick, swear my fidelity to the Supreme Beings."

"I-I, Mare Bello Fiore also Guardian of the sixth floor, swear my fidelity to the Supreme Beings."

"I, Demiurge Guardian of the seventh floor of the Great Tomb of Nazarick, swear my fidelity to the Supreme Beings."

"I, Albedo Guardian Overseer of the Great Tomb of Nazarick, swear my fidelity to the Supreme Beings. With the exception of the Guardians of the fourth and eighth floors all of the Guardians have gathered before you. Does our oath please you, Supreme ones?"

As Albedo finished her question Vaughn felt Momonga release his [Aura of Despair] which shocked Vaughn enough to accidentally activate his [Aura of Shadows] causing all of the illusory stars to go out and the continual light spells around the area to dim. He stopped it from going farther than that before he just held it there, deciding to act like he totally meant for that to happen, yep it was all part of the plan.

Momonga spread his arms wide, as though to give all those present a hug. "Wonderful, our Guardians. We are well pleased with this, and we thank you for the faith and belief that you've placed in us." He turned to look at the Shade as though he was begging for him to step in and say something.

"Truly we are, however much as we would love to celebrate your own vows, Nazarick finds itself in an unknown situation. To that end we have had Sebas step outside the Tomb to inspect the surroundings." Vaughn said, gesturing to their left where the man in question knelt. "Speak Sebas, give us the full report."

"My Lords, the poisonous swamps that once surrounded the Tomb have disappeared. We now sit in the middle of a large grassy plain that stretches for at least 30 km in every direction, the area within 1 km of the Tomb is devoid of any sentient creatures or other structures."

Vaughn looked at his friend "if we're in a plain we're going to be spotted pretty easily, but I think I have a way around that using some of the artificer knowledge in the Tome of Wisdom and a [Widen Greater Mirage] I should be able to make a system that hides us. All we would need to do is have some of the spellcasters among us deposit some Mana into a storage unit every couple days or so."

Momonga looked at his friend amused. "Why is that your first concern my friend?"

"The point of a shadow is to remain unseen. After all, what good is a spy the enemy knows about?" Vaughn replied.

Momonga nodded his head at the logical reply. "Very well, after this meeting if you would please get started on that right away so that we can at least breathe a bit easier. Next, Demiurge, you are now in command of the defense of Nazarick, coordinate with the other Guardians in order to ensure that we have the best defense possible. On that note I would like for Albedo and Demiurge to set up a far more efficient method for passing information around the Tomb, I would rather it not take the hours it does for most to walk from the first floor to the tenth.-"

As Momonga carried on, Vaughn thought about the problem and immediately found a solution that would make a big difference in how efficient each of the Guardians could get about. {Momonga, I believe the best course of action would be to give the Guardians the spare guild rings so that traveling between floors would be simple.}

{That is true, thank you for the suggestion.} Momonga replied through [message] before he stopped speaking and looked at the Guardians before him. "Upon further thought I have decided to give each of you one of these." He said as he held his hand in front of him warping a ring from his inventory and offering it to Albedo.

"With these rings that were left behind by those who decided to abandon all of us, you all will be able to accomplish all of the tasks that we have set forth for you. Any questions?" Vaughn picked up as he stepped to the side, and away from Momonga.

{Uh Vaughn, why are you leaving my side like that?}

{5...} was the only response that the Overlord received.

{What in the hell does '5' mean?}

{4…}

{4? Give me a straight answer damnit!}

{3… by the way if this hits 0 I'm not helping.} Vaughn calmly replied

{What are you counting down to!?}

{2… the fruits of your labors.}

{What?} Momonga was really confused about what was going on.

{1… sorry my friend.} After this final reply Vaughn raised his hand palm towards his Guild Master and said two words that were incomprehensible to anyone else. "0, [Gate]." A swirling black oval appeared behind Momonga right as Albedo tackled him into it. After closing it he turned back to the rest of the Guardians who were all mortified at what the Overseer had just done. "Don't worry they've just been sent to Momonga's private chambers because I really didn't want to witness that, nor did I want any of you to." Still seeing concern for Momonga on their faces he explained further. "The main reason why Albedo is acting so rash in short is that Momonga attempted to cast a spell and it had dire consequences, namely that all of the succubus sexuality that is normally directed to everyone around by Albedo is now focused solely on Momonga. And before you ask, no there isn't a known way to undo it. So for now Momonga has to reflect on the decisions that he makes. Nobody is to enter his room, for any reason, for the next hour. At that time, Shalltear, Sebas, and Cocytus may be necessary for the removal of Albedo if she has lost her reason. Don't worry, she would sooner die than hurt him but she will probably be rather unwilling to leave him."

As he continued on his explanation the looks around changed, Demiurge looked as though he was somewhere in between shocked that a Supreme Beings spell backfired and furious that Albedo would be unable to control herself, Shalltear was looking at Rivas with a "if she can do it, why can't I" look tinged with jealousy, Rivas looked exasperated, Mare still looked very confused, Aura was blushing all the way to the roots of her hair, Sebas seemed stoic as ever, and Cocytus…. actually Vaughn couldn't tell how he thought about the subject. After he had finished speaking they all bowed their heads before Demiurge spoke. "My Lord, may I ask how you knew that Overseer Albedo was going to tackle Lord Momonga at that exact moment?"

"Simple, I know of Albedo's condition, I know that the Guild Master can be oblivious to how his actions can affect those in his immediate vicinity, and add on top of that that he produced a ring and immediately offered it to the woman who can barely control herself around him as it is and I came to the logical conclusion that they needed to be not here. I calculated a rough time when she would lose her self control and went from there. Unfortunately as Momonga is the one with all of the rings except mine we will have to hold off on handing them out for now. If you have any further questions, [message] me and I'll see what I can do to assist." As he finished his explanation he used the ring to teleport to his own room in an attempt to make a list of objects he would need to create the "battery" for the illusion.

3 days later.

Momonga had taken to the silent treatment as payback for what Vaughn had pulled, however after 3 days he decided he needed Vaughn's help with scouting the larger area around the Tomb.

Vaughn attempted to use his [Create Greater Shadow Demon] but after the spells normal duration the greater shadow demon returned to wherever it had come from. Finding no other options the two now find themselves in Momonga's office looking at a Mirror of Remote Viewing. Momonga had just figured out how to maneuver the thing when they noticed that there was a nearby village that seemed to have some form of excitement going on.

"Is that a town festival?" Momonga asked

The only other person in the room, Sebas, leaned over to see the Mirror more clearly. "Certainly not my Lord."

Momonga zoomed in to see armored knights slaughtering the townsfolk. "What shall we do Lord Momonga?"

As Momonga opened his mouth to reply, Vaughn spoke up instead. "'Helping someone in trouble is always the right thing to do.' Isn't that what you and Touch Me said when I asked you a similar question?"

Momonga grabbed his chin in thought. "You're right, even though he's gone that sentiment is what Ainz Ooal Gown was built on."

As Momonga began giving orders to Sebas, Vaughn saw a woman leading her two daughters into the woods away from the attackers, stop suddenly. "No time." Vaughn said as the shadows beneath his feet picked up in its own whirlwind. "Go save those girls when you can. [Shadow Teleportation]."
