Chapter 2: Jealousy's Price

When he returned to the Common Room Harry stopped stock still when he saw Ron's face. The red head was angry.

"You just can't let well enough alone, can you? First it was with the troll and the Sorcerer's Stone, then that bloody Chamber and finding out you're a Parselmouth, the blasted Spiders, then that whole thing with your Godfather and Professor Lupin, now this…"

"Ron I didn't ask for any of that…..I didn't ask for this either…."

"I'm so tired of this! You put us through hell and who gets all the credit? YOU!"

"You think I'm doing all this for fame?" Harry asked. "Ron, I NEVER WANTED ANY OF THIS!"

"You're a fame whore!" Ron yelled then shoved the green-eyed boy. "Get the fuck out of here POTTER!" Harry sobbed and ran out of the common room. "THAT'S RIGHT BITCH! RUN!" Hermione glared at the red head then ran after Harry. She couldn't believe the red head's jealousy.

Harry was blinded by his tears as he made his way to the Astronomy Tower. He couldn't believe what happened nor what Ron had said. He had never expected to see Ron look at him with such hate. I didn't ask for ANY of it. He dropped his Glamour and sat in his favorite spot. Why does this happen to me? What he didn't expect, was someone following him.

"Potter?" A soft voice asked in surprise. Harry gasped and looked up into astonished blue gray eyes. Oh shit….

"Malfoy I…." Harry began but the Malfoy Heir held up a hand and motioned for Harry to grab his cloak, his things and to follow him. Harry made sure he had his glasses, cloak, map and his wand before following the blonde into a deserted classroom. He was about to replace his glamour when the blond stopped him.

"No, don't." The blond said softly, clearly smitten. "Please…"

"But I can't walk around like this. I'm…."

"You're beautiful…" The blond whispered. "Why do you hide it?"

"I have to, my relatives…. you have no idea what it's like." He turned away from the blond and the Malfoy Heir held his hand in a gentle grip.

"Potter…. Harry…look at me." The blond said gently. Harry bowed his head and looked at him through a dark veil. The blond gently lifted the other boy's gaze to meet his.

"Why were you crying?"

"Ron….the things he said….." Harry choked. "I still can't believe he said….why…."

"The Weasel has his head up his ass." The blond said as he leaned against the wall. "Like it's such a big deal to be chosen for this thing…"

"It's not just the Tournament, Draco." Harry said. The blond smiled softly at hearing his name from the beauty's lips. "It's everything that's happened since our first year. He called me…a fame whore…." This hardened the blond's eyes. Oh hell no…. He was ready to crack the Weasel's jaw! Harry read the blond's body language and gripped his arm. "Draco, no!"

"But…."

"Please don't…"

"I…." The Malfoy Heir began, his eyes meeting Harry's. "Very well but if he continues his bullshit, I'm cracking him one." Harry laughed softly.

"Deal." He said with a slight blush. The blond smiled and before he changed his mind, kissed Harry on the forehead.

"Best head back before there's a search party."

"You're right." Harry said. "But first, I have to replace the glamour."

"Why must you have that?" The blond asked. "It's not you."

"I have to have it for safety reasons Draco." Harry said as he replaced the glasses onto his face, once more under his glamour. "And that's all I can say."

"Why won't you tell me?"

"Not now…I don't….feel…comfortable…."

"Promise me that'll change…."

"One day, maybe. For now, it's better this way. Goodnight Draco."

"Goodnight Harry." The blond said before dropping another kiss before leaving.

Hermione was searching for her distraught friend while she was fuming at Ron. She was disgusted by how he acted and what he said. Harry had too much on his plate and what he needed was his friends' support, not petty jealousy. Now, it possibly costed a friendship she held dear. She giggled when she felt a gentle tug on her hair.

"Harry," She whispered. The ravenette chuckled and removed his hood.

"You found me eh?"

"Harry, you know Ron…."

"Hermione please, I can't talk about that right now but come on under the cloak before you get discovered!"

"Oh right!" She said as she scurried under the cloak. The two friends returned to their common room while from the shadows, the blond watched, nodding before heading back to his own Common Room. Goodnight, my Lily.

Draco wasted no time in reaching his godfather's office and walking in after speaking the password and entering his godfather's lab. Luckily the older man was just grading papers and not over a cauldron.

"Draco…. by Morgana….."

"Uncle Sev, I'm sorry I know it's late but it's important."

"It must be since you're out of bed after hours." The Potions Master snarked.

"I'll let it bite me in the ass later, but Uncle Sev, I think Harry is trouble." This had the Potions Master freeze in reprimanding the blond.

"Harry?" He asked, smirking at the knowledge that his godson had used Potter's first name rather than his surname. Draco glared at his godfather which had him chuckling.

"Uncle SEV!"

"Oh, very well what is problem?"

"Harry is under a glamour for one, said it was for safety reasons." This had the older man thinking. He remembered exactly where Harry was placed as a baby. Oh Merlin no…. this is bad! He knew that Lily's former brother-in-law was not in his right mind…. Why did Dumbledore put him there? Blood wards won't work in their full power if they are not willing to protect him… I'll need to get Black and Lucius on this one!

"Draco listen to me. Where is Mr. Potter now?"

"He was making his way to Gryffindor Tower with Granger."

"Anything else I should be made aware of?"

"Yes sir, Weasely has turned on Harry, jealousy is full swing."

"I've noticed that. Very well, we will speak with McGonagall and see about having Mr. Potter here in a separate room. He may need to be resorted. Go to update your father, then off to bed."

"Yes Sir." Draco said as he went to do just that, heading for his father's temporary rooms while Severus made his way to McGonagall's office. He swore to Lily that he would protect Harry and he was not one for breaking promises.
