A year and a half has passed since the defeat of Frieza Bardock and Goku sense Frieza's energy approaching Earth they gather their friends and wait for Frieza to land on the planet when Frieza lands a young man with purple hair transforms into a super saiyan and kills Frieza every one is obviously confused the young man is also confused to see Bardock and even more confused to Bulma holding a baby boy the young man explains that he is the future version of the son of Bulma and Vegeta he tells Goku about a heart virus that he will get and about two androids made by the old red ribbon army Bardock then interrupts saying "I killed everyone working with the red ribbon army soldiers and scientists although it is possible some one may have survived so tell me future boy how different is this time line to yours" the young man responds "Firstly my name is Trunks and to answer your question this timeline is very different for starters I'm not supposed to be born yet and Goku didn't have any family other than Chi-Chi and Gohan" Goku then says "Well then so my mom and dad don't exist in your time that sucks so anyway what triggered your first super saiyan transformation" Trunks answers "At least super saiyan still exists the first time I transformed into a super saiyan it was after my teacher Gohan died he trained me after the androids killed all of the Earth's fighters except you Goku you die of a heart virus like I said before so Goku show me your super saiyan transformation" Goku says "Why do you want to see my super saiyan form your a super saiyan as well" Trunks answers "Yours is stronger I hear you got this transformation when Frieza killed Krillin on Namek is that true" Bardock interrupts "Krillin didn't die on Namek he died because of demon king piccolo before I used the evil containment wave on him I taught Kakarot how to use super saiyan when he was a kid I first got the super saiyan form in hell I used the anger of never being able to be with my family again and the hate I have for myself for doing the things I did for the Frieza force I still can't believe I used to work for that asshole every saiyan here except Gohan has mastered super saiyan and Kakarot is on the brink of something new a level above super saiyan I first saw him tap into this power when Krillin died" Trunks asks Goku if this is true and he confirms everything Vegeta walks up to Trunks and asks "Is what you say true how can you be from the future but have a different past" before Trunks can answer Bardock says "Multiverse theorys a bitch he came from the future but it's a completely different time line witch means when returns to his time the androids will still excsist also there is no telling what he did by time traveling it could be catastrophic" Trunks goes back to his time
training for the androids
Kami tells Goku Bardock and Gohan about king kai and the other world where they can train and get much stronger "More training in the other world will that angel that trained me before be there" Bardock asks Kami confirms that he has made the proper arrangements Goku explains this to Chi-Chi and how he wants to bring Gohan with for the training Chi-Chi says "OK Goku I'll allow you to take Gohan to the other world to train for three years on one condition Bardock can you take Gohan to Kami's lookout I'll send Goku after I have a more private talk with him"
Bardock takes Gohan to the lookout a few hours later Goku arrives Kami brings the group to the other world eventually they meat king kai and an angel named Whis they eventually learn of something called fusion and instant transmission they also gather divine energy or god ki by training with Whis this makes them stronger and stronger each day Goku decides to try and push his super saiyan form past it's limit he succeeds and finds a new super saiyan form he names this form super saiyan 2 over the next few months Goku constantly makes trips back to Earth using instant transmission until one day the trips just stop causing Bardock to ask "Kakarot why did you make so many trips to Earth and why did the trips stop" Goku answers "It's a promise I made to Chi-Chi she made me promise to come see her once a week and tell her how the training was going but I decided to stop so I could be more focused on training"
the androids appear
The three years of training has passed there is only one week until the androids appear Goku Gohan and Bardock go back home only to see Chi-Chi playing with a little boy Goku's second son Bardock says "So Kakarot this is the true reason you made all of those trips you told me it was to tell Chi-Chi how the training was going" Goku responds "Sorry for lying Chi-Chi wanted it to be a surprise his name is Goten I stopped coming back to Earth after he was born Chi-Chi wanted another kid it's kinda strange to have another son but if it makes Chi-Chi happy then I'm happy Gohan go meet your little brother again I'm sorry for hiding this for nearly three years" Gohan walks over to Goten and says "Dad he looks just like you and grandpa" Chi-Chi just smiles and watches as Goku plays with his two sons the androids finally appear Goku Gohan Bardock Vegeta Gine and Future Trunks go to fight the androids destroying them Future Trunks explains that these aren't the same androids from his time the group goes home later that night another android who calls himself perfect cell announces the cell games if he wins he will destroy the Earth the world's strongest fighters have ten days to prepare
the cell games
The Z fighters go to the cell games arena the world martial arts tournament champion Mr Satan tries to fight cell but is quickly knocked out of the ring Bardock laughs a little Goku enters the ring fighting cell in his super saiyan 2 form but it's not going well until Goku reverts back to his base form and calms his mind his hair eyes and tail turn red no one can sense Goku's energy Bardock and Gohan do the same the three of them charge a family Kamehameha but it's different the color is no longer blue but dark red the three fire the massive Kamehameha completely vaporizing cell every one goes home proud of what they had done but they were unaware that the entire fight was recorded for the news until they watch the news later on that night Bardock says "Well then I guess people know we saved the planet I hope this doesn't effect Gohan in a bad way"
