Bill bit his lip and Moll looked at her daughter.

Just then Mebh opened her eyes.

Upon noticing her mom, Mebh burst into tears.

"Mammy!" Mebh cried as she dove into her mother's embrace.

Moll hugged her daughter and rubbed her back as she cried.

Bill looked at Mebh.

"What happened?" Moll asked.

Mebh gazed at her mother.

"It was those mean men. They shot us. They shot me and Robyn." Mebh said.

Mebh gasped. "We gotta find her Mammy." Mebh said as she cried. Tears running down her face. "She could be hurt bad."

Moll gently shushed her daughter. "We will honey. Don't worry."

Bill whistled. Some wolves came over.

"Think you can lead us to the spot where those men ambushed you?" Bill asked.

Mebh nodded.

Everyone followed Mebh out of the den.

She lead them up a secret pathway in the Cliffside.

It was very windy but the rocks helped shield them.

They were sweating by the time they reached top and panting hard.

"Its...a lot harder...to climb...on two legs." Mebh said between pants.

She ran over to the spot to where Robyn had laid. But saw nothing.

"They've taken her." Mebh said as she began to cry.

Mill hugged her daughter.

"They can't be far." Bill said.

"Search the area." Bill told the wolves, snapping his fingers.

The wolves immediately sniffed the spot where Robyn was and caught her scent.

Keeping their noses to the ground, the trotted off.

The wolves tracked it and stopped at the edge of the woods, refusing to go any further.

Bill went out and gazed both ways down the dirt road. He saw no wagon or horses in sight.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

But he did see wagon wheel tracks and hoofprints in the dusty dirt.

He inspected the the tracks before heading back towards Moll, Mebh, and the wolves.

"What did find honey?" Moll asked softly, dreading the answer.

"Tracks." Bill answered. "Heading west."

"Come on. There's a town near here. We can ask if anyone has seen her." Bill asked.

"What can we say?" Mebh asked. "Hi! Has anyone seen a grey wolf?"

Bill and Moll sighed.

"She's right." Bill said. He rubbed his chin and grinned.

"Unless..."
