Chapter Two

Become Reality

With a relieved sigh and yawn, fifteen year old model and also (secretly) superhero Cat Noir, Adrien Agreste, stepped off the airplane and into the limousine that was waiting for him nearby. Gently, Adrien shifted his bag on his shoulder, careful not to disturb Plagg from his sleep, he too like Adrien was bound to have major jet lag and he wanted him to have as much sleep as possible (plus, a grumpy kwami never boded well for him in the first place.) Adrien let out anther yawn. That last match against Australia was tough, and Adrien knew he was going to feel that one for weeks. Kagami did well too, he was proud of her. He was proud of all of the members of his team. He was the captain after all. But, especially Kagami.

She was one of his good friends. In the beginning she might have been something more than that but they quickly found that they were better suited off as good friends rather as romantic partners. Plus, Adrien had Ladybug. Kagami knew about Ladybug, kind of.

To Kagami he called her Lilly, but he had a feeling as days went by that she was suspicious of his double life as Cat Noir. Plagg thought this whole situation with Kagami and Ladybug was hilarious and was constantly making fun of him for it (Adrien did not find it funny, at all.)

Of course, like usual, his father couldn't meet him in person and instead Natalie, his father's assistant sat waiting for him, her usual tablet in hand and pen behind her ear.

"Adrien" She spoke to him once he'd got himself settled. "You have a Chinese lesson at four and if your up to it, you might just be able catch the last few periods of school—"

"Natalie," Adrien cut her off. Usually, Adrien wouldn't do this, but he was to tired to care right now.

"I'm kinda tired from my match and would like to go home, would it be possible to cancel the Chinese lesson with Master Yue?"

Natalie was dumbfounded, Adrien had never reacted like this before.

Natalie let out a sigh and said to him, "I make no promises but I'll see what I can do. I'll call the school they'll understand."

When Natalie looked up, her charge was already asleep.

"What do you mean Adrikins is not coming!" Chloe practically shrieked into her phone. "This is ridiculous. Utterly Ridiculous!"

"My dude Adrien is probably tired from his match. Not to mention jet lag and the fact he most likely killed it during the tournament." Nino said from his seat in the front. It was fifth period now, and everyone had just come back from lunch. Surprisingly, Marinette was back in her usual spot (she found this to be suspicious) but decided not to look a gift horse in the mouth and decided to roll with it.

"My poor Adrien. He must be so tired." Marinette mumbled to herself, Alya patted her back in comfort.

"Sabrina!" Chloe was saying to her friend in glasses. "Call Daddykins, we need to get to bottom of this!"

"But Chloe, what if Adrien really is just tired—" Sabrina started to reply, then once seeing Chloe's expression said. "I mean, sure, I'll get on that!"

"That's just so wrong." Alya said to Marinette. "Taking advantage of her like that."

"Yeah." Marinette said, finding nothing else to say. She was so glad things were back to normal. She hoped this peace would last. But why did she have a feeling that things would go wrong? Marinette pushed the thought away. Whatever it was she would deal with it. She was Ladybug after all, and Ladybug could handle anything. She could handle anything.

In the back of the room, Lila was internally screaming in rage.

Xavier Ramier loved pigeons. In fact, he straight out adored them. He even got akumatized over them as a result of his precious ones. (That wasn't his finest moment) He had names for all of the pigeons that he fed each day at the Jardins du Trocadéro, and he knew each one perfectly well like an old friend saying hello. Even despite the rude officer's warnings of feeding his feathered friends Xavier still went everyday as per his custom. But as Xavier sat down today and blew his whistle, he noticed that the sky was quite dark. Was there an akuma about? Most likely not, he would've gotten an alert if there was. The wind howled loudly and when did it get so cold?

Xavier pulled out the bag of feed and scattered some on the ground for his feathered friends.

Xavier blew the calling whistle. There was a cooing reply and a few of his friends joined him, pecking at the food he had scattered for them.

"Hello, Jacques, Louise, and Hugo." His friends cooed in reply and gobbled up the feed.

"How curious." Xavier spoke as he feed his friends. "You're eyes are a most beautiful thing of amber."

Soon, more of Xavier's friends joined him and the sun came out, brightening up the sky. Xavier looked around, hopefully the pesky officer wouldn't be around, but maybe that young girl in pigtails that was always drawing would be? Xavier always liked her. She seemed nice, and she didn't yell at him for feeding his friends. Then it became hot. Unbearably so. Almost like he was near a fire, it was hot like a burning furnace. A strong stench reached his nose.

It smelled of burning flesh and roasted bird.

And it came from his pigeons.

Oh, god. It came from his pigeons.

Their small bodies are torn open, their flesh rendered to nothing, and innards paint the ground like spilt milk.

Xavier howls, sinking to the ground.

Poor Mr. Ramier, shall I lessen that pain for you? Drawled the voice of Hawkmoth, the one that haunted him so many a time. I can make it all go away, if in return you give me something I—

"GET OUT OF MY HEAD!" He screamed as his hands clutched at his hair like a madman. And so, the pigeon man screamed for his feathered friends. To that which had anchored him, kept him grounded.

Now, lost once more, a slave to a monster.

He screamed, and screamed, and screamed. Until he had nothing more to give. Trapped in an endless Nightmare. A slave to a monster. His own personal Hellspace.

Aurore Beauréal thought she'd gotten over this Stormy Weather debacle that had happened a few months previously. Apparently, she was wrong. Especially since she kept seeing her evilsona ( a hashtag trending on Twitter by yours truly) on every reflective surface imaginable. At first it was annoying. Now? It was starting to scare her. Why was this happening to her?

Aurore knew that Hawkmoth chose his victims carefully. Preyed on those that had everything to lose, and that had included Aurore herself.

Aurore remembered when the butterfly came for her, coming through the crack of the elevator door. All she felt was anger and rage in the moments beforehand, so much rage. Wailing up inside her.

Then darkness. Complete and utter darkness. It felt so wrong, suffocating and cold. But mostly she felt rage, overpowering everything else. Her voice silenced. She couldn't remember anything at all, anything. But sometimes, when she was all alone, when everyone in her house was asleep...she remembered. She remembered in bits and pieces of the horrors of what she did, of the frozen wasteland that she wrought down upon the city of Paris, her home. She hate it, she hate herself.

God, she hated it.

Why was it here?

In out, in out. It couldn't hurt her. It couldn't hurt her. It couldn't hurt her.

Oh, I can definitely hurt you, Aurore. I can and will, the voice crooned. I will make you suffer. I will make you bleed. It hissed.

Aurore screamed.

It was standing in the middle of the street. The sky began to darken as storm clouds began to roll in.

"You're not real." Aurore mummers. "You can't be. You're just in my head. An illusion. You're not real."

Others looked at the girl strangely. Why were the corners of her eyes blue and wispy? Some type of new mascara?

"Teenagers." An old woman scoffed as she walked her yorkie. "Always trying the newest fad."

The woman's yorkie barked at Aurore.

"Muffin! Just because the youngsters of this generation are putting toxins in their bodies that will most likely kill them, doesn't mean you have to bark at them!" The old woman scolded her dog.

But Aurore was seeing something different, she was seeing her own end. Her own stormy reckoning.

Her Nightmaric hell.

Everything around her was cold.

So cold. Why was it so cold. It was blue. Everything around her was blue.

"Everything is blue. His pills. his hands, his jeans and now I'm covered in the colors pulled apart at the seams and it's blue and it's blue." Aurore was sobbing now, saying these random words deliriously to calm herself.

Stormy laughed, stalking closer, twirling her parasol letting random bursts of chaotic blasts of weather destroy everything.

Aurore howled, curling into a ball. Run away! She tried to scream to those around her, but her voice seemed to have been silenced somehow

"Pathetic. Utterly pathetic." She sneered.

"Everything is grey his hair his smoke his dreams and now he's so devoid of color he don't know what it means and he's blue and he's blue." Aurore continues to mumble to herself, trying to block out the thing in front of her. But she couldn't block it out. She couldn't block her out. Aurore knew this was the end.

Mama Papa I'm sorry I'm sorry

The sky is so blue, she thought. Everything is blue covered in the colors pulled apart at the seams...

All Aurore saw was the nothing but the endless blue.

Aurore finally found her voice, and she screamed into eternity.
