'Cel-lo-phane, Cel-lo-phane, mov-ing fast-er than a bul-let train!'
Sero sings in his head as he swings by another building, the visor of his helmet protecting his face from the rushing winds. A few blocks ahead of him, Kamui Woods signals to land on a nearby lowrise building. Slowing himself down, Sero lands on the rooftop just as Edgeshot materializes beside Kamui Woods.
"Cellophane and I didn't see anything suspicious on our end." Sero hears Kamui Woods relaying to Edgeshot.
"Neither did I." Edgeshot adds in.
"Me and the little ones are clear as well!" Mt. Lady's electronic voice chimes in through their earpieces.
"Alright team, let's head back and call it a night." Edgeshot orders.
'Roger that!" responds Sero's colleagues.
As the heroes turn back towards the agency, Kamui Woods lingers by the railings as Edgeshot goes on ahead. Sero is intrigued, and approaches the man.
"Everything okay, senpai?"
"Hmm? Oh, nothing, just thinking that your theme song is good, but could use some work." Kamui responds with a twinkle in his eye. "Your comm can still pick up your muttering, you know!"
Sero is flabbergasted, only able to watch as Kamui Woods jumps over the railing and swings away. Sero tried to sputter out a response, but found it pointless as he stood by himself on the rooftop. With a sigh of defeat, he follows after his seniors, hoping that he can tape himself fast enough to catch up.
Sero continues to swing through the highrises of the city, when his earpiece sparks to life.
"Cellophane, if you're still behind us, we need assistance! Kamui and I are chasing after a villain with a Bull quirk!" Edgeshot's voice can be heard through the static.
"Roger! On my way!" Sero responds. 'Time to put all that training to good use…' Sero thinks as he quickens the speed of his tapes. He finds the rhythm that he needs to shoot and retract his tapes in quick succession, figuring that his makeshift grappling hooks are his only chance of catching up to the two pros.
After a minute or two of repetitive casting and reeling, Sero can hear the ruckus of the chase get louder, and as he swings past some lowrises, Edgeshot and Kamui Woods appear in his line of sight, a block or two behind the villain. From his height and momentum of the last swing, Sero determines that he can get to the villain before the two. Lining himself up as he's descending, he shoots down a line of tape from each elbow several meters ahead of the villain before pulling them taut.
The villain's horns snag on the tape, just as Sero had planned. Pulling hard, Sero manages to use the tape as makeshift reins, shifting the villain's momentum backwards and jerking him back. However, the bull villain is able to recover quickly, pulling his head forward, and along with it, Sero.
"Waaahhhhh!" Sero yells out as he's pulled towards the villain, who continues his plan to escape. Sero ends up landing on the villain's back, who Sero sees, now that he's right up to the guy, is at least seven feet tall.
"Wha-? GET OFF ME, PIPSQUEAK!" The villain growls, trying to reach behind for Sero. Still holding onto the tape attached to the villain's horns, Sero swings around to avoid being grabbed.
"STOP! RIGHT NOW!" Sero yells to the villain, still swinging violently from the bull's distracted movements. For a moment, Sero sees that Edgeshot and Kamui Woods are closing in, but as he swings to face forward, he sees that the villain is ready to plow through a busy intersection. 'They're not gonna make it!' Sero realizes, the distance of the pros being too far to stop the villain in time. 'It's up to me…!'
"How 'bout that kid, you think you can stop me from mowing down those nobodies crossing?!" The villain growls with a sick sense of excitement that angers Sero even more.
"I." Sero yells out, swinging himself so he can mount the back of the villain properly. Just as he gains his stability, he feels the villain grab his right leg and pull him off his back. "SAID." Sero shoots multiple strands of tape from his left elbow through the villain's legs as he's being pulled. Sero feels the tape make contact with the street. "STOP!" Angling his arm, Sero then shoots several strands from his right elbow on to the villain's horns and face, before reeling the tape from both arms taut, suddenly anchoring the villain with him as the line.
Sero feels a sharp pain in his left shoulder as the villain's head is suddenly pulled down by the impromptu tether to his head, slamming into the concrete road. The momentum of the massive bovine drags Sero down as well, clipping him between the bull's body and the city street. He can hear bystanders and pedestrians yelling as the taped up clump skids to a stop at the middle of the intersection.
Sero can hear his heartbeat pounding in his temples as the blood rushing to his head deafens his surroundings. From the dazed feeling, Sero deduces that he at least has some sort of concussion, and judging from the numbness from his left side, a dislocated shoulder. He pops open his visor in time to see Kamui Woods and Edgeshot land nearby.
"Oh my god, is he dead?!"
"Holy shit, he's just a kid…"
"Mama, is he okay?"
"Someone call for help!"
Sero's blinking in and out of consciousness, the sound of sirens off in the distance.
"Kid! Kid! Stay with me, are you alright?!" Sero recognizes the voice as Kamui's, and opens his eyes in time to see him kneeling before him. Off to the side, Edgeshot uses his quirks to cut the tape still attached to his elbows.
"D-Did w-we get h-him?" Sero manages to blurt out between labored breaths.
"You sure as hell did, kid." Kamui responds, closing his eyes with a sigh of relief.
"Good job, Cellophane. You're a real hero tonight." Edgeshot offers kindly. As the two pros untangle Sero from the villain and restrain him, Sero blacks out with a smile on face.
