Chapter 3 A surprise Meeting.
Monday came quickly, and Enid woke up around ten o'clock, took a shower, got dressed, and headed into the kitchen to make some coffee and eat some breakfast before fighting with Saphira to get out of bed. They both had sat up pretty late last night, watching tv and playing games.
As Enid stood looking out the window above the kitchen sink, she pulled the small gold chain she had around her neck out of her shirt; on the end of the chain was a small hammer that was a tiny copy of Mjolnir or what Midgard thought it looked like, they weren't too far off, just shaped a little different at the top. Saphira had bought it for Enid when they lived in Norway and had given it to her because of her relationship with Thor, and mainly as a joke, but didn't tease Enid when she put it on and have worn it ever since, even when she swore she was no longer in love with Thor. Enid was, probably always will be.
Enid stuck the chain back in her blouse and turned from the sink to get her a cup of coffee, then poured a bowl of cereal before sitting down at the table to eat and go over some paperwork she secretly brought with her, by the time she was done with it and put it away, it was a little after twelve. She decided Saphira needed to get up if they were going to start their road trip today. She got up and walked down the long hallway to Saphira's room to wake her.
"Sister, if you want to leave on our road trip, you must get up." Enid said as she came into the room, went to Saphira's bed, and shook her. " It's already past noon."
"Enid, go away." Saphira snapped, trying to smack her hands away.
"Fine, you can stay here, and I'll go back to work." Enid said, turning around and heading towards Saphira's bedroom door.
"Am getting up." Saphira cried, turning over and sitting up. "Let me shower, and then we'll go."
"I knew that would get you up." Enid said, laughing as she walked out of Saphira's room; she went to her room as she heard the shower turn on and repacked her suitcase, and then put on her socks and sneakers, then grabbed her luggage and set it down in the living room, next to her purse and another bag. Then went back to the kitchen to have one more cup of coffee before they headed out; few minutes, later she heard Saphira come down the hall and toss her bags into the living room before coming into the kitchen.
"Do you want to eat anything before we go?" Enid asked, taking a sip of coffee. Saphira wore a yellow sundress, with little white daisies, that came a little above her knees and was a bit low cut at the top, and of course, she had no shoes on. Saphira preferred to go barefoot than wear shoes, always been that way, and Enid wasn't sure why.
"No, we'll stop somewhere as we head out." Saphira said. "I just want to get going. You can drive at first if you wish. I am not awake enough yet."
"Fine with me." Enid said, washing her cup out and sitting it in the dish drainer."I Am ready if you are."
"Let's go then." Saphira left the kitchen and headed into the living room; Enid locked the sliding door, then closed the binds before following her. Once in the living room, she did the same with the sliding door behind the couch. Saphira never thought about checking these things; Enid did when she was there; even though the house belonged to Saphira, she bought the land and had the home built here, and most of the stuff in the house belonged to Saphira, she had a lot of collectibles and antiques she had collected over the years that was worth a lot of money, Enid liked the house, it was a beautiful place, there were just too damn many windows and glass sliding doors for her liking. Still, at least it was out in the middle of nowhere, with no one around, so hardly anyone knew of the house being here or that it was empty most of the time.
"Here," Saphira tossed Enid her keys once she had picked up her bags, then grabbed her shoes, headed out of the house without putting them on first. Enid followed her out, first stopping at the door to turn the alarm on, then making sure she locked the front door, before going over and unlocking Saphira's car trunk so they could put their bags in it, then they both got in the car.
When Enid put her seatbelt on, then shut the door, she looked over at Saphira and noticed she had put her legs in front of her in her seat and had her head leaned back and closed her eyes.
"Oh, come on, Saphira, you have been sleeping all day; you can't still be tired." Enid said as she started the car.
"Am, not, " Saphira said, opening her eyes and looked over at her sister. "We stayed up well until the morning. What time did you get up?"
"It was around ten or ten thirty, I think." Enid answered, backing out of the driveway.
"So, where are we headed." Saphira asked, sitting up straighter in her seat.
"Don't know." Enid answered, "Where do you want to go?"
" Where ever the car takes us, I guess." Saphira answered. "But first, we get food; I am starving."
Enid drove at a lot slower pace than Saphira would have; thankfully, she didn't complain, instead watched out the window and not saying anything, which was unusual, unless Saphira was still tired.
"You are quiet today, Sister." Enid pointed out.
"Do you remember that friend I had in New Orleans, Remy LeBeau?" Saphira asked.
"That thief with the weird eyes?" Enid asked. "Yes, why?"
"I had a dream about him last night." Saphira announced. Enid looked over at her with a frown.
"What made you dream of him?" Enid asked; LeBeau was one of the thieves Saphira had befriended when they lived in New Orleans; thinking Saphira was a lot younger than him, he took her under his wing, befriended her, and acted as an older brother; he's the one that taught her to play cards, and steal and cheat, Saphira ran around with him and his little band of thieves. Enid was sure Saphira was going to get herself thrown in prison hanging around them. After a few years, LeBeau got into some trouble and left New Orleans; shortly after, she and Saphira moved to California, and they never saw him or any of the other thieves again. Though she knows, Saphira still misses them all, especially Remy LeBeau.
"He wasn't the only one in the dream." Saphira said, "You were there, Remy, a bunch of faceless people and Thor."
"What was the dream about?" Enid asked.
"I don't know it didn't make sense." Saphira, "You have all gathered around together, some holding weapons as if you were about to go into a big battle."
"And you didn't see yourself there?" Enid asked.
"No, " Saphira answered. "Neither was Loki, but Thor was."
"Try not to look too into it." Enid told her, pulling into a fast food place. " It's just a dream, doesn't mean anything."
"Go through the drive-through, please." Saphira said. "I know it was just a dream, but I can't shake the feeling something is about to happen, but I don't know what."
Enid frowned as she pulled up to give Saphira's order; she had had that same feeling a lot; lately, Enid even took to rereading her tarot cards, something she hasn't done in years, part of the elven magic her mother taught her was reading tea leaves and tarot cards and telling fortunes. Enid never really looked too into any of it. She never genuinely believed in seeing the future was possible, even though she did read people's palms and stuff when traveling with sideshows. Still, Enid didn't like the answers her cards kept giving her. Like it kept showing she would lose Saphira, and that terrified her; she was all Enid had; she didn't want to lose her little sister.
"Enid, " Saphira suddenly snapped, bringing Enid out of her thoughts, and she looked over at Saphira. "They said, pull up to the window."
"Oh, sorry." Enid pulled up to the window to pay for Saphira's food, then went to the next window to get it.
"Are you okay?" Saphira asked, "You were out of it back there."
"Just thinking about work." Enid lied, and Saphira groan as the drive-through window opened, and Enid was handed Saphira's food and drink; she passed it to her sister, thanked the employee, and pulled out of the drive-through.
"No work stuff." Saphira ordered, pulling out her food. "We are on vacation, remember."
"Yes, boss." Enid replied she didn't like lying to her sister, but she wasn't about to admit that Saphira's dream had shaken Enid, especially since Saphira hadn't dreamed herself in it, but two guys she hadn't seen in years was. "So, where are we heading."
"I wouldn't mind seeing the Grand Canyon." Saphira answered.
"Arizona, it is then." Enid said.
Enid and Saphira headed out of Nevada, doing as they said, going where ever the car took them; when they were in Arizona, stopped at the Grand Canyon like Saphira had wanted, where Enid took a picture of them together at the top, then spent a couple of days In Arizona then headed to the next state, not sure of where they would go from there, but having fun anyway. They passed through New Mexico without stopping, then stayed a few days in Texas, drove around Louisiana into Arkansas, then moved to Florida and spent the rest of their vacation at Disney World and then Universal Studios; they had a lot of fun, but to Saphira time went by too fast, and before they knew it that had to head home. However, Saphira tried to get Enid to stay longer.
"I still find it hard to believe you wanted a vacation." Saphira said as she sped down a deserted road, somewhere in New Mexico, on the way back from their vacation.
"Well, I needed one." Enid told her she still hadn't been able to shake off the feeling she had but had been able to put it out of her mind for now and had enjoyed herself and time with her sister.
"We should do this again," Saphira said.
"Maybe." Enid replied as she looked out the window smiling slightly; as she just sat back and enjoyed the night air hitting her in the face and blowing her hair and watched what she could see of the outside going by. She glanced up at the sky with a frown; off in the distance, the clouds were parting, and there seemed to be lightning coming from it, and what looked to be a bright light, Enid sat up a little watching.
"Are we just going to drive all night or stop somewhere?" Saphira asked. " It's getting late, but I'm not sleepy." Saphira looked over at Enid with a frown. "Enid, are you listening to me?"
"Oh, umm, it's up to you; you're the one driving." Enid said, turning to Saphira, "If you aren't sleepy, keep driving, but pull over if you do start getting tired and there isn't a town nearby."
"I'll keep driving until we get to a town, then we'll look for a motel or something, get some sleep, then head out when we wake." Saphira decided.
"Good idea." Enid said. Not paying attention to her, her mind still on what was happening in the distance.
"I wish we didn't have to go back, " Saphira said, " stay on vacation forever."
When Enid didn't answer, Saphira glanced her way, then back at the road. "Sister, what in the world has your attention?"
"Some weird lights were going on over there," Enid answered, pointing to where she saw it, but it had stopped, and everything looked normal now, which caused Saphira to give her an odd look when she didn't see anything.
"Okay, maybe you have been on vacation too long," Saphira answered. "Not working is starting to get to you."
"Very, funny." Enid, replied sitting back but kept her eyes in the direction the lights were; it seemed familiar to her, almost like...no, that wasn't possible.
"Now you have gone quiet," Saphira said. "I was joking a moment ago, but now you are worrying me, and you know me, I am not a worrier like you." Saphira glanced at her. "Are you sure you are okay?"
"Have a lot on my mind, is all." Enid answered. Saphira frowned, most likely catching Enid's lie or half-truth. She did have a lot on her mind, and she wasn't going to say what.
"I had that dream again last night." Saphira announced. "And I am pretty sure you guys were standing in the middle of New York City."
"Weird." Enid answered. Out of all the places she and Saphira have lived, New York had never been one; they've been there but never actually lived there.
"I've decided not to let them get to me, just dreams." Saphira said. "And if you were battling something, I would be there; why wouldn't I help you? And if Thor is there, then Loki would be with him. Maybe you're not fighting at all, but people are seeing us off in the Bifrost or something like that."
"Maybe." Enid answered, looking out her window. "You're probably right, nothing to worry over."
"Exactly." Saphira answered.
As Enid watched out the window, a bright light shined in her eyes, and before she could even block the light, something hit the side of the car Enid was on; the vehicle was knocked aside, then rolled over a few times before stopping on its top on the side of the road. Enid groaned and grabbed her head; it had hit the roof of the car pretty hard.
"Sister, are you alright." Enid demanded, unhooking her seatbelt and falling to the top.
"Of course, I am." Saphira said. Enid, feeling a little dizzy, looked over to see Saphira unhook her seat belt and crawl out of the window. Enid just stayed where she was and closed her eyes. She thought she could hear Saphira talking to someone, people frantically asking if they were okay. Then Saphira was getting an attitude with them.
"Sister." Saphira was now at her window, "You, alright?"
"Yeah." Enid answered though she was starting to get dizzier now, she rolled over, and Saphira got out of her way. As she crawled out of the passenger window, an older man standing there helped her to her feet; Enid stumbled back a little.
"You're bleeding." Saphira said, looking closely at her head.
"I am?" Enid asked, confused as she reached up and felt wetness she somehow hadn't felt before.
"The right side of your blonde head is now redder than mine," Saphira said; Enid was sure her sister was exaggerating, but before Enid could say that, everything went black, and Saphira was shouting her name.
The next thing Enid knew, she was waking up to Saphira talking to someone, and someone was holding her hand, and she was lying in a bed with a bad headache. She kept her eyes closed, not wanting to open them at the moment.
"Weirdest thing, the concussion your sister had last night seems to have mostly healed now." A confused-sounding voice said. "Makes no sense."
"Enid is a fast healer." Saphira answered. Enid frowned. She had yet to open her eyes, but it sounded like Saphira was over on the other side of the room; if so, then who was holding her hand? Enid's eyes flew open to see a very familiar guy standing next to her bed; he was looking towards the door, where she guessed Saphira was talking to someone, with a frown on his face.
"Thor?" Enid asked, thinking she must be dreaming or hallucinating. Thor looked down at her and grinned.
"Enid." Thor said; he reached up and pushed her hair back, then bent and kissed her forehead. "You gave me a scare."
"Sister." Saphira came over to the bed. "Finally, you're awake, don't scare me like that again."
"Do not yell at her." Thor told Saphira, "She is injured."
"I have every right to yell at her after scaring me as she did." Saphira said to Thor, and Enid looked between the two with a frown; Saphira did not seem surprised or shocked by Thor being here as the two bickered back and forth as they used to on Asgard.
"I am so fucking confused right now." Enid said, letting go of Thor's hand and rubbing her eyes.
"Do you need the healer?" Thor asked, running a hand through Enid's hair again.
"No, I am doing fine; I just..." Enid frowned. "Where did you come from?"
"I am from Asgard." Thor frowned," you know that; are you sure you are okay?"
"That's not what Enid meant, dumbass." Saphira said; she looked down at Enid. "Your idiot was in the back of the van that hit us last night. They had hit him first, dropped us off here, and took off."
"You mean they just left without seeing if any of us were okay?" Enid demanded.
"I reported their names to the police." Saphira said.
"You snitched on them?" Enid asked, sounding amused.
"I was mad." Saphira defended., "You know how much my car was worth, that car was a rare classic, Jane Foster just hit my car, right after running over the God of blonde hair over there and takes off like it was nothing, she needs her driver license taken at the least."
"Sister, your insurance will pay for the car," Enid told her.
Contrary to what most people thought, Saphira didn't live off her sister's income, and not what she earned for her Vegas show or gambling, no Saphira had her income, by investing in some fashion brands back in the day when they were unknown, those same brands were not only still around but now extremely popular, and since Saphira owned quite a few stocks in them, she got a hefty amount of money deposited in her bank now and then.
"I know, it's just I loved that car, bought it right off the showroom in the sixties, and never put a dent or scratch on it." Saphira complained. "Anyway, the accident gave you a concussion, but it's mostly healed now; nurses washed the blood out of your hair, but your head wasn't busted enough for stitches. How do you feel now?"
"My head hurts a bit; other than that, I feel fine," Enid answered, sitting up in the bed.
"Good." Saphira replied, "unfortunately, Loki isn't with Thor. He's here alone, so if you are up to it, we can get him to call Heimdall and have him take us all back to Asgard."
"I am afraid that is not possible." Thor said; Saphira looked at Thor with a frown.
"Why?" Saphira asked. "Enid and I could talk to the Allfather, tell him we had nothing to do with my father's deeds. He shouldn't hold what father did against us."
"You do not understand." Thor said. "It is not because of you..it's me..father and I fought..he stripped me of my powers and banished me here."
"Oh, " Saphira frowned. "That'll explain why Loki isn't with you." She sighed and flopped down in the chair next to Enid's bed. Thinking about how she would send Loki a letter when she could if Thor were banished here, Loki should be able to get here now, take her home with him; she wouldn't feel bad about leaving her sister now that Thor is with her.
"What happened?" Enid asked as she laid her hand on Thor's in comfort. "Why did you and your father fight?"
"I...may have gone to Jotunheim and started a war with the Frost Giant." Thor answered, and Saphira burst out laughing.
"You did what?" Saphira demanded. Thor glared at her.
"Sister, it's not funny." Enid said, then turned back to Thor," There has to be a way to get your powers back and get you back to Asgard; your father is probably just trying to teach you a lesson, once you learn that, you'll perhaps be risk-off back to Asgard with the Bifrost."
"And you will help me?" Thor asked, looking at Enid.
"Of course." Saphira answered, "Especially since we can go back to Asgard with you when you do, I am sure Enid knows how to get you unbanished."
"And if not?" Thor asked.
"If not, then I will go to Asgard live happily ever after with Loki, and you and Enid can live here on Midgard, run her casino together or hell, even buy a farm or something, raise some cows. Loki and I will visit you every century or so."
"Saphira." Enid groaned.
Thor chuckled," You have not changed a bit, have you?"
"Nope, still same old me." Saphira said, then turned to Enid. "While you were out of it last night, you missed Thor taken out half the hospital staff."
"He did what?" Enid demanded, then looked at Thor.
"I was just banished down here and confused; I did not know they were trying to help me." Thor explain. "Not until Saphira came in the room and calmed me down, explained I was in the Midgard version of the healing rooms." Thor frowned at her. "Though I do not know why you waited so long to stop me."
"It was amusing to watch." Saphira shrugged.
"She also kept calling me a dumbass." Thor continued. "Not sure what that is, but I did not like it."
Enid groaned as Saphira started laughing at Thor again; then there was a knock on the hospital door; it opened, and a nurse came in.
"Got good news for you, Ms. Bard; the Doctor says you can go home now, long as you take it easy." The nurse smiled and walked over to her to get Enid to sign some papers. "Now, you can get dressed and be on your way; take it easy for a few days, though." Enid thanked her, and the nurse left.
"Where are my clothes?" Enid asked; Saphira got up and got in a bag sitting on a counter.
"You'll have to put on what you were wearing last night, sister, I got our small bags that were inside my car, but the ones with our clothes are still in the trunk." Saphira explained. "We'll have to find out where they took it to get them."
"What about my purse?" Enid asked as Thor helped her to stand; when she looked at her sister, she saw Saphira was indeed wearing the same jean shorts and top she was wearing when they wrecked.
"I made sure to get those and our other bags but couldn't get to our luggage because you can't get a trunk open when the car is upside down." Saphira said. Enid nodded and went into the bathroom to put her clothes on.
"I just remembered..." Thor said as he grabbed Saphira's arm, "Before we go anywhere, we need to find Mjolnir Father threw it out after me. It must be here somewhere."
"You're talking about that hammer thingy of yours, right?" Saphira asked. "We'll look for it, but first, we have to find a place to get some vehicle, or we'll be walking everywhere."
"Think there is a car rental place here." Enid asked, coming out of the bathroom, and had heard Saphira and Thor's conversation.
"I hope so, but this is a small town." Saphira shrugged as Enid found her shoes sitting by the hospital bed and sat down to put them on.
"Hope I don't end up having to buy a car." Enid said, standing back up and picking up her purse, she went to get her bag, but Thor grabbed it for her; Enid rolled her eyes at him but let it go.
"Cool, we have a bag carrier now." Saphira teased, then to Enid's amusement, she put her bag on Thor's shoulder for him to carry. Thor glared at her but didn't refuse to take it, and the three of them left the room and headed down the hospital hallway to the elevator.
"Where are we going to go?" Saphira asked.
"Find a motel first, I guess, "Enid answered as they walked down the parking lot. "So, we can put our bags in there and not have to carry them around with us."
"Why is Saphira not wearing shoes?" Thor suddenly asked.
"You just now noticed that?" Saphira demanded. "You sat in Enid's hospital room all night last night annoying me and didn't notice I had no shoes?"
"I am not annoying." Thor snapped.
"Stop arguing, please," Enid demanded as Saphira opens her mouth to reply to Thor.
They both fall silent, but then Thor suddenly pushed Saphira to the ground; she looked up and was going to yell at him, but before she could van pulled out of a parking spot and struck Thor, knocking him down; he had pushed Saphira to stop the van from hitting her, causing him to get hit instead. Enid got down to check on him as Saphira crawled over to them.
"You alright?" Saphira asked while tapping Thor in the face; Thor grabbed her wrist to stop her from hitting him again.
"I'm fine," Thor answered. "No need to keep hitting me."
"You probably should have let it hit me instead." Saphira teased," I'M still a goddess, not some puny mortal like you."
"Saphira." Enid snapped, tapping her sister on the shoulder with the back of her hand.
"I'll remember that next time." Thor groaned as he sat up, Saphira and Enid helped him get to his feet, and Thor picked their bags back up as the people who had struck them came running over, and by the look on Saphira's face, Enid guessed it was the same people from last night.
"I swear I am not doing this on purpose." Jane said Saphira made a face, didn't answer, instead turned to Darcy Lewis and Erik Selvig.
"If either of you can drive, you might want to start doing so before she kills someone." Saphira said.
"That's not fair." Jane complained.
"Not fair." Saphira said, "We no longer have a car, and our clothes are in the trunk; I don't even have a pair of shoes to put on my damn feet because they are in my vehicle. I have no idea where it's at."
"Sorry," Jane said.
"Sorry," Saphira repeated, she stepped toward Jane, but Enid grabbed her and pulled her back.
"Let's calm down." Selvig said, holding out his arms and stepping in front of Jane a little. "Why don't you come back with us to Jane's lab, you can use the phone, find out where the tow truck took your car, and we'll drive there to get your things."
"Thank you; we accept your offer." Enid told them.
"Are you nuts? I am not getting in that van while she's driving." Saphira said, giving Enid a are you crazy look.
"Then, you can follow behind us on foot." Enid suggested. "But we do need to find your car and figure out how we can get another one."
Saphira said nothing as she glared at Enid; Thor tossed their bags in the van, then helped the sisters climb up in it before he got in and shut the door.
Twenty minutes later, Enid was sitting at a table in Jane's lab, Thor was seated next to her, and Darcy was across from her, Jane was fooling around with what she called her research, Selvig looking at it with her, and Saphira was pacing the floor, on the phone, arguing with the tow company that towed her car away. Since there was only one in town, it didn't take long to figure out who took it.
"You know, last night when we first picked up you guys, I thought Saphira and Thor might be an item because she seemed so surprised than excited to see him." Darcy said, "But now I guess I was wrong, right?"
"My brother Loki and I grew up with Enid and Saphira." Thor explained. "Saphira is my friend, but I fell in love with Enid. Loki fell in love with Saphira."
"Thor, I doubt she wanted that much detail." Enid told him, in truth, she was confused at the moment. Did Thor consider them still a couple or engage? In a way, they were. They never officially broke up or anything. Which made Enid both happy and confused, afraid too; once Thor was able to go back to Asgard, he would, and no matter how much Saphira wants to go with him, Enid doubted they would be allowed.
"No, this is interesting." Darcy said. "So, you and Thor are an item, and your sister is dating Thor's brother?"
Saphira let out an angry groan and tossed Jane's phone on the table, and sat down next to Darcy. Enid frowned at her.
"Sister, is something wrong?" Enid asked.
"That stupid tow company let some other people take my car away." Saphira said.
"Who would want a wrecked car?" Enid demanded.
"They didn't know, just that they seemed like some kind of government feds or something, a bunch of suit-wearing guys just towed my car away." Saphira said. "Taken our clothes along with it and my shoes."
"Weird." Enid frowned. "Though if you had been wearing your shoes, you would have them now."
"I am hungry." Thor suddenly shouted. "This mortal form needs food." Enid frowned at him, but Saphira smirked at the looks the others were giving Thor; he didn't realize he was rude.
"Here, we have a pop tart." Darcy had grabbed a box of pop tarts that was sitting next to her and pulled out a pack, and held it out to Thor. He took it, looking at it with a frown.
"It's a Midgardian food." Enid explained. "Eat it. They're not too bad." Thor gave her a nod then went to stick the pack in his mouth. "Open it first." Enid grabbed it and opened it, and handed it back to him. "You don't eat the silver part, honey." Thor nodded his head and then ate the whole pop tart in one bite.
"This is good." Thor said Saphira made a face.
"Don't talk with your mouth full." Saphira demanded. "Have manners."
"Sorry." Thor answered; Enid got up and walked past him and over to the board; Jane was going over.
"Is that Thor?" Enid asked, pointing at a picture of what looked like some kind of funnel with a shadow inside.
"I believe so." Jane answered. "I took this in the field. Thor appeared out of nowhere and hit my van."
"What is it you are trying to do anyway." Enid Asked, looking at all Jane's other pictures and computers.
"Jane is trying to prove there are other dimensions." Erik said. "Find doorways into other worlds."
"Are you stupid?" Saphira demanded.
"Excuse me." Jane demanded, looking over at her.
"If you were to discover something like that, open a doorway to something, do you think Midgard could handle it?" Saphira demanded. "If you find the wrong door to something you don't want to let in?"
"What's Midgard?" Darcy asked.
"She means this realm." Thor put in. "And she's right; they are things out there Midgard couldn't possibly protect its self from."
"With all the Satellite and cell towers and singles being throw out into space, other planets out there are already starting to notice you." Saphira said, crossing her arms. "No need to find doorways and make it easy for them to get here; you may regret that if you do."
"Okay, I am officially creeped out."Darcy said.
"You should be." Saphira said. "Earth has come a long way in technology in the many years I have been here, but they are planets that are far more advanced, and if they were to attack..."
"Sister, enough." Enid told her,
"This isn't about technology." Jane said. "It's about science, and I am on the verge of a breakthrough." She looked over at Thor, and Enid frowned at her.
"No," Saphira said, standing.
"What?" Jane asked.
"Thor belongs to my sister." Saphira announced. "So, whatever use you may be thinking up for him, you can get it out of your head now."
"Thor is an adult." Jane argued. "If he wants..."
"Thor is a prince of Asgard. He belongs there, not here helping some Midgard scientists with something she shouldn't be doing. It's beneath him."
"Saphira." Enid snapped. She glanced at Thor, who was still eating Darcy's pop-tarts but looked at Saphira with a surprised look on his face.
"I am not a scientist; I am a." Jane tried to say.
"I do not care." Saphira interrupted, crossing her arms, then she turned to Enid. "You need to watch her, sister. She's been eyeing Thor since we got here and likes to run over people with her van." Jane narrowed her eyes at Saphira.
"I don't like what you are trying to imply," Jane said. Saphira glared at Jane.
"Well, I don't like you," Saphira told her.
"I am still hungry." Thor breaks in their argument; Enid wasn't sure if he was still hungry or if Thor was trying to stop a fight from breaking out."Need more food."
"Good idea." Selvig said, laying his hands on Jane's shoulders and turning her away from Saphira. "Let's go across the road to Izzy's; we'll all take a break, get something to eat."
About an hour later, Enid found herself, along with Thor, Jane, Darcy, Saphira, and Selvig, at a diner across the road. Thor was the only one eaten. However, Erik was sipping a cup of coffee as he looked over a map he brought with him, trying to pinpoint where they had wreck into them and found Thor. Saphira sat across from Enid with her arms crossed with an angry look on her face.
"Another!" Thor suddenly yelled, then smashed a mug onto the floor, causing Jane to start getting on to him.
"You are in a different realm, Thor." Saphira spoke over Jane's rant; "They do not smash things here...unless they are doing it in anger."
"Oh." Thor frowned. "I did not mean to be disrespectful."
"Don't worry about it," Enid put in as Jane opened her mouth to say something. She was beginning to get on Enid's nerves too. "It's just a mug, can't be worth much, we need to worry about finding your hammer and getting hold of a car.
"That's not the point," Jane said. "He just..."
"And he apologized for it," Saphira said. "No reason to keep going on about a damn mug; if it's that important, my sister will be more than willing to pay for it." Jane glared at her but said nothing. "You want to talk smashing things? A few days ago, I slammed a guy through a glass table."
"I'm sorry you did what?" Darcy demanded as Thor laughed. Saphira shrugged.
"He and his buddies were trying to rob me." Saphira explained.
"And you are paying for both the glass table and painting you destroyed doing so." Enid said. At that moment, two guys came in and sat at the bar, talking about some weird object that had fallen from the sky. Thor jumped up and went over to them. They explain to Thor what they saw and where he could find it.
"Do you know where that is on here?" Enid asked, pointing at the map; Erik looked the map over, then pointed at a place. Enid pulled a highlighter out of her purse and marked it.
"How far would you guess that is?" Enid asked.
"It'll take a while on foot." Erik said. Saphira frowned,
"Is there a taxi service or car rental place around here?" Enid asked.
"Not in a small town like this." Erik shook his head.
"Guess Thor, Enid, and I are walking it then." Saphira said, standing up. "Come on, blondie, unless you want to stay here and smash things."
"You're just going to walk out there?" Jane demanded as Enid stood.
"Well, I don't feel like being chased by cops, so stealing a car is out." Saphira said sarcastically. "I could drive mine, but no wait, you destroyed it."
"But..."
"It's their decision, Jane, let them go." Erik gave Jane a meaningful look. Jane sighed but said no more as Enid walked over to pay for Thor's food, then gave the owner some money to replace the mug; Thor broke, then followed Saphira and Thor out the door.
"Hey, guys." One of the guys at the bar called over to them. "It will probably be a waste of time; the feds had shown up and chased everyone away." Enid thanked them and her, and the other two walked out of the dinner and crossed the road.
"If I am reading this map right, we head this way." Enid said Thor was walking close by her, and Saphira was on the other side.
"This is going to be a long walk." Sapphire complained. "I can't believe someone stole my car. It sat in the parking garage at the casino for weeks, even months at a time, barely being driven, no one even bothered to touch it, but once it's totaled, people suddenly want it, makes no sense."
Both Enid and Thor ignored Saphira's rant as they walked down the street, Enid trying to read the map until Thor grabbed her arm and stopped her from walking.
"Think that place can be of help." Thor demanded. Saphira looked to where Thor was pointing and frowned.
"A pet store?" Saphira demanded, giving Thor a funny look.
"Perhaps they have horses." Thor suggested.
"Pet stores don't sell horses, Thor." Enid explained. "Just cats and dogs, animals like that."
"Maybe they have some big enough to ride." Thor said. Saphira laughed a little bit.
"Not on Midgard, blondie." Saphira said. "Dogs and cats don't get that big here. Midgard doesn't usually use animals as transportation anymore."
"Oh." Thor frowned. "Stop calling me, blondie."
"Ignore my sister, Thor," Enid told him, laying her hand on his arm. "And don't be embarrassed; it took Saphira and me a while to learn the way things are down on Midgard too. Don't let it get to you."
"Ignore, Saphira." Thor agreed. "That will be hard to do."
"Hey, " Saphira glared at Thor, who chuckled at his joke. "Next time you get banished to another realm, don't come to me for help."
"I did not come to you for help," Thor told her. "I ask Enid; you volunteered."
"Then I take back my volunteer then," Saphira said.
"If I do not get back to Asgard, then you will not get to go back with me and see Loki." Thor reminded her.
"That's low, Thor, real low," Saphira told him.
"Low?" Thor asks, confused and Saphira laughed.
"Oh my God!" Saphira cried, "You are such a dumbass!"
"I am not," Thor argued, "Stop calling me that." "Guys, shut up," Enid demanded. "Stop acting like children."
Before either could answer her, a horn blew, and all three looked up to see Jane pull up in front of them in her van.
"You guys want a ride, or will you rather walk?" Jane asked.
"I would rather walk," Saphira mumbled.
AN They have reunited with T. Hopefully, it was good; I have a lot of this story prewritten but probably go over some chapters, maybe add or change stuff; I have noticed the chapters aren't all that long, but I wanted to get to the good stuff and not drag the story too much.
Am not trying to bash anyone in the story, but Saphira she's well pretty much a "villain." in my story, more so than the hero. At least at first, a lot like Loki was in MCU; (and comics) I've read so many with a Loki love interest that turns Loki too good actually, and they all either take place after Avengers or they get Loki to stop during the battle and turn good.(at least I think I read some like that) I want this one to be different and have them helping Loki.
Saphira does not like Jane at all, but she does like Thor deep down, she just likes annoying him and Arguing with him, she finds it amusing. And I have no idea if that's what Jane was trying to do in the first Thor movie, never really understood what it was, but am going to pretend it is. Lol
