Every time Luca went on a walk with Duke, he would text Daisy. Most time she would reply in seconds saying that she would be waiting for them to walk by and then join. Whenever Daisy could not join him on their almost daily walks, Luca would be sad. He enjoyed spending time with her outside of work. They had become really good friends, Street on the other hand were making fun of them for spending so much time together. "You spent more time together than Molly and I, and we are together a lot," he would say to them. They just laughed it off.

After an especially hard case the team returned to the Headquarters. They all walked either straight for the kitchen to grab some food or the locker room to pack their things. Hondo and Luca went for the fridge to grab a bite to eat before going home. Daisy went for the locker room. She were longing for a good night sleep, something she had not had in months. No one knew which is how she liked it. Nightly dreams turned into nightmares which kept her awake and filled with anxiety.

The case were finally over and so were the work day. They all needed a good long weekend off and that is exactly what Hicks had ordered. Street were going to spent it with Molly on a small getaway trip. Hondo were going with Darryl to see another university with his pops and mother whereas Deacon were going to meet up with Annie and the kids at her sisters place. It were his sister-in-laws birthday that weekend. Chris had no specific plans other than meet up with an old friend and Luca only had plans with the food truck for the weekend. Daisy on the other hand had talked about starting a jigsaw puzzle all week. The team had just laughed at her calling her a nerd, but she did not mind. It had been her way of de-stressing since she was a child. Spending hours with good music, snacks and a colourful puzzle were her definition of a weekend off, especially after losing her family. It were something her brother, Elijah, and her used to do to boost their minds and spend time together. She missed him every single day and the one thing that made it go away were puzzles. It felt as if he were there with her.

Deacon and Hondo were in a deep talk about school options for Darryl and David's children. "Glad mine aren't old enough to look at universities. All we have to worry about are the first couple of grades and diapers," Deacon said with a small laugh. Daisy tried to follow their conversation, but the words became blurred. She must have been starving, she thought to herself as her stomach rumble loudly. It caused a few looks from the others, but she brushed it off. She were attempting to put on a new pair of socks, but were failing miserable. "You in trouble with the socks, Daisy?" Luca asked with a smirk on his face as he walked into the locker rooms with a banana in his hand. He teased her a lot, but it were all friendly. She were happy that he would joke around with her. He were like an annoying big brother who would sit on you for fun and be protective at the same time. "Yeah, it doesn't like me," she mumbled. She never dismissed Street's taunting about them being in love, but she knew were her heart belonged. Luca were like a brother, nothing like the one she had, but like the one she needed.

"Need a hand?" Luca asked. He were looking at her with a tilted head and the banana hanging out of his mouth. Her pale complexion were suddenly really noticeable. "I'm good. I'll just go without," she said slipping her feet into her white shoes. It were her favourite off work shoes. Not entirely practical with the white colour, but she loved them. Whenever she needed a new pair, she always got the same kind. Last year Luca had gotten her a new pair as she were struggling to pay rent. She cried, but would not admit it when the others asked. A small gesture from a friend, her best friend, were enough to make her feel like everything were going to be okay. A few months after, when she had gotten her financial issues under control again, she bought him a new tool for his food truck. The pure happiness on his face when he opened the box were beyond worth it.

Daisy stood up and reached for her backpack in the locker. That were a mistake as she tumbled into the locker as her legs gave out. Her face hit the door with a loud bang. "Shit! Are you okay, Daisy?" Luca half yelled as he kneeled down next to her. Both Hondo and Deacon stopped mid conversation and looked at them. "Just got a bit dizzy, that's all..." Daisy mumbled holding her head with her right hand, a small red mark had already formed on her cheek from the metal door. Hondo immediately dropped his backpack and found a water bottle tucked inside. He kneeled down on the other side of her, gently touching her shoulder while handing her the bottle. "Drink some water," he said sternly. He were worried and pissed that she had not said she were not feeling well. Daisy gratefully took the bottle and sipped on the water. A bit of colour came back into her face after a few minutes and she could not help but sit and wait for the big talk Hondo would give her.

"How long have you been feeling dizzy?" Deacon asked with his arm crossed over his chest. He had been standing in the background to make the room feel less crowded. "Since we got back. I probably just skipped a meal too much," Daisy said a bit embarrassed. Hondo grabbed a protein bar from his jacket pocket and handed it to her. "Eat," he commanded. She did as she were told, but it were not agreeing with her empty stomach, as she became extremely nauseated. "Help me up?" she asked Luca, who grabbed her arm and gently pulled her up. That were another mistake as she went white as a sheet. "Down! Down," Deacon said quickly as he noticed her deathly complexion and unfolded his arms to reach for her. Hondo grabbed her arm before Deacon just as her body went limp. They gently laid her down on the rather cold floor, Hondo held onto her head and lowered it down gently.

"Luca, can you get me a cold, wet cloth?" Deacon commanded more than asked. "Hondo would you mind lifting her legs up?" He added on. Luca got up really fast and ran to get what he were asked. Hondo placed his bag under her feet to keep them elevated. "What just happened?" He asked even though he knew the answer. He looked down at his teammate who were awfully pale and small.

"She fainted, probably due to dehydration and lack of food. She should wake up any second now," Deacon explained. They waited and waited, but nothing happened. Deacon were visibly worried and Hondo could hardly keep himself from picking her up and run to the car. David rubbed her sternum in hope that the pain would cause some kind of reaction, nothing happened. Luca came running back with the cloth followed by the rest of the team. "What the hell?" Chris asked as she ran in. Her face expression were a mix of sadness and worry. "It's okay, just give her some space and she'll be alright," Deacon said while holding his hands up in a defensive position, it were mostly said to himself as he were becoming increasingly more worried. "What happened? Luca came running into the kitchen looking like he had seen a ghost and just disappeared!" Street explained why they had followed him back. The entire team were standing there looking at their motionless friend. "Should we call an ambulance?" Luca asked. He kept running his hands through his hair, a nervous habit. "Good idea..." Deacon muttered.

Daisy's eyes were starting to flutter open. "Hold the call," Deacon said as he looked at her eyes moving. Her world were blurry and her head felt as if it were stuck in a fog. Slowly sounds began to be clearer, but her vision were still questionable. She heard her name being said multiple times by a dark toned voice. A mans voice, she thought. "Daisy... Daisy... Can you hear me?" the voice said. After a while she realised it were a familiar voice, Deacon. She blinked a few times before looking to her left and sure enough he were sitting by her head holding something wet to her forehead. His face looked weird from this angle, all twisted. "What's going on? Why are your face so close?" she mumbled gaining a laugh from Street and Chris. "I think she's fine, " Street said with a small laugh to lighten the mood.

"Just stay down for a minute or two before getting up," Hondo said holding his hand over her chest to prevent her from sitting up. She sighed, but followed her orders. After a couple of minutes her face were at its usual colour and Hondo gently helped her sit up against the locker. "At least give us a warning next time you feel ill," he said wiping the sweat off his forehead in a dramatic manner. She nodded and leaned back against the cold surface of the locker. "Will do, boss." she let out a big breath and closed her eyes. The less cold and dirty surface of the locker door were welcomed. Shortly after closing her eyes she felt her body move, but she had not moved it. "You still with us there, flower girl?" Hondo asked. She liked that nickname and smiled. "Still here," she mumbled.

Chris, Street and Deacon slowly left after giving Daisy a small hug or a fist bump. They all wished her to be well and call if she needed anything. At the end it was just Hondo, Luca and Daisy left. "Thanks for not calling the ambulance, and I'm sorry." Daisy said embarrassed. She were playing with the sleeves of her jacket. "It's okay. Deacon made the decision to not call as you were waking up, but I would recommend going to see a doctor as soon as possible," Hondo said sitting next to her. "Just to be sure it's nothing serious," he added on. Luca nodded and moved out of the way as Hondo stood up from the ground and posed in his usual business way, holding onto the collar of his shirt. "And call me with the result," Hondo said seriously. She promised to call the doctor the next morning and inform her boss and friend on her condition.

"You are definitely not driving home and someone should keep an eye on you for the next few hours, " Deacon said poking his head through the door as she were gathering her things. "I thought you left?" Daisy said surprised at seeing him back already. "Just forgot to say that," he said with a smile. He knew that Hondo had a busy weekend ahead and so did he, yet he were about to volunteer to watch Daisy for the day. Annie would had understood why he were a day late, but before he could say anything Luca volunteered to keep an eye on her. "She can help me out with the food truck and we can get some culinary treats?" Luca asked overly excited. Daisy felt guilty that he had to drag her along and did not want to ruin any plans or cause trouble, but she could kill for some food. "If it's not too much trouble I wouldn't mind some food," Daisy said just as her stomach started to growl again. This caused the men to chuckle. "Have a great weekend!" Deacon said and waved as he walked off again.

"See you Monday!" Hondo yelled as he walked out as well. "Let's go, Daisy," Luca said after a while, taking both of their bags on his shoulder before putting his arm around her. "Thank you," she said and walked with him to the car.
