Hello!

Moria Fela here. School is out, but I'll probably be working this summer. Plan to keep updating. I also may update past chapters to fix grammar errors and unclear points. I noticed some issues in my first chapter. (let me know if there any glaring grammar problems).

I do not own Code Lyoko. I do own my OC Violet.

Violet POV

I stood there; the chains chafing my wrists; the sun beating down on my back. My long hair was below my knees sticking to my skin. One auctioneer tugged at the leash connected to my collar. I was forced forward onto the stage.

"This slave is hard working. She is known to be quiet and take a beating. She is perfect for someone who wants that peaceful worker."

He grabbed my face and showed off my teeth. My eyes sparkled with tears. I pleaded for someone to save me. Where was everyone and how could I get out of this hellhole?

"15-25 thousand 35-45. 200,000. To the lady with the pink hair." said the auctioneer

I was afraid to look at who had boughten me. I hesitantly raised my face. It was Aelita. My legs were shaky. I lost my bearings and fell over.

"Someone put this slave in the back. It's onto the next one." said the auctioneer

"I will be taking my slave with me. This moment. Please hand her over to me." said Aelita

"But, it is customary to wait. Please, miss."

"I. Aelita Hopper, request my property."

"Of course, I didn't know." said the auctioneer nervously

"How can we know she is a hopper?" asked a man in the crowd

"It's her pink hair. The only other person with that hair color is her mother Anthea Hopper."

"Here you go,'' he said. He tugged at my leash, forcing me off the stage. The people parted like the sea. I was then handed off to Aelita.

"My payment. She said handing him the money in cash." People in the crowd gasped, asking how someone of her age had money like that to spend. "Aelita." I said, Tears falling. She forcibly tugged on my leash. I followed behind out of the auction house.

"What's going on." I asked "I'll explain in my dorm room at school. Please, we must keep a low profile."

We arrived on campus after walking from the auction house. It was busy with some students unloading their belongings onto sidewalks while others hugged their parents goodbye. Jim Morales or as we called him Jim was standing at the front gate directing the flow of students and traffic.

"Ah, welcome back. Mrs. Hopper. You will need to go see Mr. Delmas if your friend has not been registered." Jim said "Hey, it's gonna be ok. I understand what you're going through. If she is not treating you right, then come to me. OK." Jim said, reassuring me. I stood behind Aelita, smiling a bit.

"There will be no need for that, Jimbo. Aelita means a lot to me." I said.

Aelita waved to Jim and pulled my leash. Her eyes lit up. Jim looked confused. He waved back.

"Hey, get back here Dunbar. You can't do that on campus." Jim hollered.

He ran from the front gate towards the science building. William was busy with his Lyokoian. They held spray paint cans. He sprayed the words L.A.X. then Forever underneath in a black outline with red on the inside. What it meant, I had no clue. Jim rushed after him. William cried "GO". He and his Lyokoian dashed towards the nearby forest. Jim got tired and eventually went back to his post. I laughed a little along with my sister. The campus was buzzing with all kinds of people. It felt good to be back somewhere familiar. Aelita conversed with him. I was too preoccupied to notice. I never really noticed Mr. Delmas's office before. It was fairly small with his desk piled high with papers. His computer was turned on with a penguin game playing. On his wall were awards the school had received. On one wall, a picture hung with Sissi on his shoulders. It was one I had never seen before. There was a lady holding Mr. Delmas's hand. She looked young with black braided hair. Aelita tugged on my leash, gesturing me to follow her outside. We arrived at her dorm room.

Aelita POV

*knock*knock*
"You may come in," said Mr. Delmas. He was looking down at his desk, signing paperwork.

"Miss Hopper, To what do I owe the pleasure?" Mr. Delmas asked, looking up

"I would like to register. . .?" I asked

"Of course. Please read over the paperwork and I shall contact your father. All I need is your signature, your Lyokoians number, and their signature if they know how to write." He said, pulling out a piece of paper from one of the desk drawers. I took the sheet of paper and began reading it.

After finishing the paperwork, we were supposed to meet up with Ulrich. *Beep*beep*. Mr. Delmas seemed to be receiving a phone call on the landline.

It was hard to make out who he was talking too.

"Yes, Of course. She is right here. Miss. Hopper. It's your father." He said, handing me the phone.

The phone call between Daddy and me.

"Aelita, Darling. I heard you bought your first slave and for what $200,000. I'm so proud. I thought I would never see the day." he sniffled

"Yes, Daddy. . ."

"Oh, and something else Aelita. Ulrich needs to buy his own slave before you get married. I trust you can sway him."

"What about the money?"

"No need, it will be our gift to the Sterns."

"And lastly, tomorrow evening you and Ulrich are scheduled to have dinner with the Sterns, myself, and your mother. I hope he has one purchased by then. I'll have it all worked out with the school. Please bring your slaves with you. I wish to meet them."

"Of course. Daddy, I'll get right on it. Yes. Yes."

*click*

The phone call ended, and I hung it up. I was scared. It was stressful, to say the least. He expects me to find a slave for Ulrich in a little over twenty-four hours. It was not enough time.

Odd POV

*knock*knock* "Hello, is anyone there? Uh, it's me Odd Della Robbia, your new roommate?" I asked. The door creaked as I slightly opened it. Good no one is inside. I opened up my purple and blue duffle bag. Kiwi hopped out. He started running on top of the beds.

"Kiwi stop. Kiwi." I hollered It's useless. I may as well unpack, I murmured to myself.

*knock*knock* "Ummmm. . .Hello, you must be my new roommate." I asked. A hand peeked out of the door opening

"Scrawny, its you." cried Ulrich

"Scrawny, I haven't been called that since. . .since. . .Ulrich." I replied, grinning.

"Man buddy how's it been? How's it been? You look different." said Ulrich, dropping his things on the ground.

We did our handshake, ending with a fist bump. Ulrich began unpacking as Kiwi howled arroowwghoow. He lifted his leg, aimed on the bed, and spewed out a yellowish substance onto Ulrich's bed.

"KIWI. Come on, Odd can't you control that mangy mutt!" Ulrich screamed loudly.

He picked up some clothes, throwing them at Kiwi. Kiwi rushed over to my bed and hid behind me.

"ULRICH." I screamed. I threw some sheets at him. He grabbed a pillow and deflected them. We both fell onto the beds and started laughing.

"It's good to have you back. Samurai." I said

"Same to you, Scrawny." he replied

*knock*knock*

"Who is there?" I asked

"Aelita." the voice replied

"Aelita who?" I asked again

"Ulrich, its me, and is that Odd?" She said

The door opened, and Aelita entered. Violet followed close behind. She was trembling.

"Come on over to my room. We need to talk." said Aelita

I smiled at Violet and walked over with the others to Aelita's room.

Ulrich's POV

Odd had left with Violet in tow.

"Aelita, is something wrong?" I asked

"No, it's just we need to talk in private about the thing." she replied

"What thing?" I inquired

"You know, between our families." She said

"Oh. I remember now. My parents mentioned something like that. An engagement or something. I never pay attention when they talk to me. I can't stand hearing their voices."

*beep*beep*

I picked up the phone, answering it.

"Ulrich, it's your father." Bruno said

"Yeah, so what?" I replied

"I'm sure if Aelita told you but tomorrow evening you are going out to dinner with the Hoppers including Aelita, your mother, and I. Understand."

"Hold up. I never agreed to this. Why do you keep changing my life without my input?" I angered

"I won't say it again. Aelita, The Hoppers, and Us tomorrow for dinner. Be prepared or I'm pulling you out of school. Got it."

"Yes. Yes. I understand."

I hung up the phone call. Aelita looked at me with "I think you know the situation." She gestured for me to follow.

"Violet and Odd. We need to talk." She said.

The two of them were busy running up and down the halls chasing one another like cat and mouse.

After they came into the room, Aelita had detailed the situation. I needed to get a Lyokoian and fast. Aelita had said to buy Odd in order to kill two birds with one stone. If we bought Odd, it meant we could stay together. All that was left was to get a hold of Jeremie and Yumi.

Violet POV

Aelita was on the phone conversing with Odd's parents and the principal. I couldn't really make out what she was saying.

"Yes, Yes. I'll go get him." she said

Odd picked up the phone. "Hi. I know. I trust them. Ok."

Then Ulrich chimed in, "Yeah. It'll be safer for him. He can still go to school here."

The phone call ended. Odd smiled at Ulrich and Aelita. Everyone cheered.

"Violet, it's official. Odd, and you are coming to the dinner tonight. We need to go into town and get you guys some clothes. Nothing too much or else people will notice." said Aelita

"Come on, Scrawny here needs to be Svelte for this evening. I'll tell you." said Odd folding his hands and tapping his feet

"We'll see what we can do, Odd. But right now, it's about blending in. We can't afford for anyone to find out about our secret." Said Aelita

"Oh. come on, where's the fun in that. Samurai." replied Odd stammering

Later that evening

"You look good." Said Odd

"Not as much as you do." I replied, blushing

Odd wore a deep purple polo shirt and beige khakis. I wore a sleeveless pastel purple dress with white leggings.

"Wow, Princess, you look hot." said Ulrich with his mouth agape.

Aelita was wearing a one-shoulder deep pink dress. It went past her knees and had lace all over it. Ulrich on the other hand was wearing a white dress shirt and deep dark green sport coat along with khakis in the same color. Aelita pulled out the leash from the drawer, saying. "I know you don't like it but stay close to me. The law. . .I don't really get it."

"Are you saying I need to be tethered down by that thing?" cried Odd

"I got you a purple one earlier today. I'll just attach it to your collar. Ok." said Ulrich calmly. He slowly inched his way over to Odd.

"No, way. I'm not like Kiwi." Odd pouted. He got on all fours and started running around the room.

"You look like it." I joked. Odd stopped and stood up.

"I guess you're right, Angel. I look like a fool. But, it seems so natural. On Lyoko, I could run freely like the wind, but I feel tethered here. I feel so caged. So lost. . ." said Odd sadly.

"Odd, being sentimental." said Ulrich, turning his head perplexed.

"Oh yeah. It's not like you. . ." said Odd, unable to finish his sentence.

"Odd, I understand," I said. I pulled him in and gripped his body. I hugged him. "You told me. Remember. That night when Ulrich was trailing Yumi and the next day he was sulking at the driving course."

"Oh, yeah." He replied

It was on that night when Ulrich was gone.

"You know, Angel. Most people think of me as the jokester at this school. That's true but deep down something is missing?" Odd said. He was sitting up against the wall on his bed. I sat next to him, petting Kiwi.

"My parents love me and are super supportive. They really don't care about my grades and want me to be myself. But I'm scared, Vi. terrified. I fear that I'll fail at anything school-related so I don't do anything. My parents' no expectations attitude makes me feel like I'm not good enough to do anything. I'm so scared, but I never show it. I joke around, play pranks and video games all night, and eat constantly to hide the fear. I view life as a game to not deal with the stress. "

"Oh, Scrawny. . .I never knew. . ." I replied, placing my hand on his shoulder.

"You really get me. Violet. I can't seem to be open with anyone else. Even with Sam. .Once I told her. She wanted to break up with me because she 'couldn't deal with another messed up person like her parents'." He sighed.

"Please, Odd. Do it for me." I pleaded.

Odd begrudgingly walked towards Ulrich. Ulrich attached the leash to his collar.

"It's time to go." Aelita said. She gestured with her hands.

When we arrived outside of the school gates, there was a black limo with tinted windows.

"Ms. Hopper, Mr. Stern. Welcome." said the driver as he opened the door.

He looked like a Lyokoian from the collar he was wearing. He wore a suit but had a forced smile. The car ride was fairly long. I sat beside Aelita. My hands were trembling and my legs shook uncontrollably. The restaurant we went to was supposedly the best in town. It was atop the Eiffel Tower. I was nervous as one of the workers opened the door for us.

Jeremie POV

"You won't be able to find your friends. They're all dead thanks to you." "No, No. it was the supercomputer that failed, not me." A black hole surrounded me. I fell through with wolves chasing after me. I tried reaching for Aelita's hand but couldn't. She drifted away along with all of my friends into the black abyss. Their eyes turned fully black with faces of grimace. I awoke lurching forward. There was sweat on my brow, which trickled down my face.

"Jeremie. As you know most of us go to sleep at night." said Mr. Fumet. The class erupted with laughter. I sat there simply nodding. Mr. Fumet continued to teach.

"As you know, our world has been enthralled in a centuries-long war. There have been many battles filled with bloodshed. Now, please write these important dates down. The first recorded Lyokoians date as far back as when Jesus was alive. Some even believe that his supernatural abilities did not come from above, but simply XANA. Around 600-700 BC, there are a large number of those affected by the virus. When Rome was first founded, the virus was still in its early stages, researchers believe. There are detailed accounts in some of the surviving papyrus "There was a boy today. He had powers like Hades. His fire burned everything in our little village. The flames were blue. He must be a messenger from Hades that the end of days is coming." Most archaeologists and scientists believe that the people of the time assumed the virus was a divine intervention, meaning that the gods gave the people the powers as a way of showing their thanks or hate." I tried to take the notes as best as I could. My hands were shaky and my notes all over the place. Suddenly the bell rang.

*beep*beep*. "As a reminder, class, we will continue this discussion later. Don't forget to read chapters seventeen and eighteen along with the worksheet," said Mr. Fumet

I waited for most of the students to get up and leave before I picked up my bag and slung it across my shoulder. "Jeremie. Will you please stay back for a moment?" I nodded

"You fell asleep in class today. This is the third time this week. Make sure you are getting enough sleep. I won't tolerate it much more. Understood." I nodded again.

It's like you don't know how busy I am. I haven't even seen my friends yet and better get going. I have a quick break before dinner. I need to read my journal.

I headed back to the garden shed. No one was inside currently. I sat down at the shabbily put-together desk and opened the notebook.

Dear Diary,

Kadic Academy Jeremie Belpois

I remember that day. It was so long ago but because of it I can read and write.

Mere, Pere where are you. I'm scared. This place is scary. Please come get me. Mere, Pere. I was forcibly removed from the plantation where I had spent most of my childhood. I was confused, terrified because I was taken away from the only place I knew. My parents were loving and caring despite the circumstances. Their warm faces made of amber. The auction house I can barely remember. The chain pulling me to the stage. Mr. Delmas, my new master, buying me off of the stage. He wasn't and isn't bad per se. He gives me work and food, and if I do well; he allows me to go to school with the other students. I'm given the necessary books and materials. His daughter Elisabeth other hand is more of a spoiled brat. She has two slaves who live on the campus with me. They aren't very nice. They hate my morning alarms but then again sometimes they wake up because Eliasbeth calls them at odd hours of the day do to trivial things like cleaning her room or doing her homework. The teachers have told us not to let our slaves do the homework, but Elisabeth does, anyway. I hope that one day I can be like Mr. Morales. He's a cool guy who always looks out for me. He was once like me but then got freed. He's lucky to be able to work.

Jeremie

Dear Diary,

Oct 9 Kadic Academy Jeremie Belpois.

My schedule is rough. No one helps me. None of the others have been "employed to do so". In the morning, I wake up bright and early before the sun rises. Usually around 4:00 am. This is so that I can clean all the buildings. Yes, well, most of them depending on the day, I clean heavily used classrooms, areas, and the lunchroom most days. School for most students began at 8:00 am, so that gave me about four hours of cleaning before my first class. I had three or four classes most days lasting about one or two hours each. I was able to have lunch around 12:00. Breakfast was not given to me. Most Lyokoians were only given one to two meals a day anyway, so my body is used to it. After class, I had a short thirty minutes break from 4:00 to 4:30 then it was back to cleaning. I finished up my tasks and was allowed a small dinner. After dinner, I had to clean some more. I was finished usually cleaning most of the buildings by around 11 pm. I headed back to the garden shed where I would do some homework and then get to sleep by 11:30 so I could get some semblance of sleep. I would start the day all over again. I was given Sunday afternoons off to roam around the campus. I love those days. I love to take a walk and admire the scenery.

Jeremie.

I closed the journal. *yawn*yawn*. That must be why I'm so small. They work me to death here. Then again, I worked myself to death trying to stop XANA. That reminds me, I need to try to get to the factory. But how to contact the others. Hmmm. . .I'll think of something.

The next day I headed into the school library and found a news article that was pretty informative.

Marriage Between Lyokoians and Humans: Friend or Foe

To some people in the world, a simple law change does nothing to their daily routine. While for others, it can mean the difference between life and death.

There are very few reported cases of halfas or Lyokoians marrying humans. The recorded numbers are less than ten but researchers believe them to be in the hundreds of thousands. The four most notable families included the Ishyama family who moved from Japan to France. The Ishyama's are well known for the bank they own and operate that makes millions of dollars a year. The Della Robbia's are also on the list. This family is famous for their notable donations to the art and museum communities. Lastly, there are two families, whose last names are unable to be disclosed, are located in Africa who both surprisingly have ties to their respective governments. Not much else is known about halfas. There is limited information and few studies However, Some families who are pure have children with the virus. This is not surprising, as genes from previous generations can pop back up over time some studies show.

Franz Hopper, the person whose family created the collar has stated "The best way to get rid of the virus is to have those with no virus mate with their own kind and vice versa. Any sort of interbreeding should be punishable by law and not be taken lightly. In an attempt to curb the virus, they have proposed a worldwide law preventing Lyokoians from marrying humans. In some areas, such as the United States and France, it has already taken effect." The Hopper family is very supportive of the current law and believes it is one way to help destroy this unknown enemy.

However, others are not too keen on it. Some countries have bent the rules of the law, which says nothing about children of non-virus parents. The law has been known to cause an uproar in some local populations. Some families have commented that the law is too strict and is even used when two non-virus-holding parents have a child with the virus. A lady named Mrs. Morales who was placed on death row because of her child said the following "My son was taken from me. My husband and I and our parents never once showed powers. I didn't want them to take my son, but the law was clear and they ripped him from my arms. Jim baby, if you're reading this. Your father and I love you."

On the other hand, Slave Activists seem no more concerned than your average citizen. Those at Lyokoians Against XANA or L.A.X. are more concerned with those already in bondage as opposed to those born on the outside. The leader of L.A.X. said "If we had more resources, then we could help those families but sadly our goals are focused elsewhere. We want to save our fellow brethren who are beaten, starved, and worked from dusk till dawn. Our fellow Lyokoians are our biggest concern and have been at the heart of operations since our founding over two hundred years ago."

Then, it seems there are other plans to provide a more happy environment for the Lyokoians where they can live in peace away from the humans. Some governmental leaders have proposed a system that allows Lyokoians to stay together while working for a small wage. These are known as labor camps which have been tested in some African and Asian countries. When asked to comment on the new ideas, the Leader of L.A.X. said the following, "That is no way of dealing with the issue. It is merely patching up the problem. It has little to no regard for what the Lyokoians want. Another question is how sustainable will it be? Can the facilities handle a large amount of Lyokoians or will this just be plantations funded by the government? My only word to describe it is deranged." The leader of L.A.X. wished not to comment any further.

This new form of Lyokoian management would not be the first of its kind, but compared to our ancestors it is very different. Before anyone knew about the virus, marriage between slaves and humans was much more common and even customary in some cultures. For instance, there are references in the bible mentioning how Jesus could walk on water or change water into wine. Some humans believe his power to be divine, while many scientists believe Mary was part Lyokoian giving her son the powers when he was born. In Rome, Lyokoians were sought after because of their supposed divine powers that came from the gods above. It was a status symbol, so families wanted to marry those with powers. Even in our own history, interbreeding can be seen. During the Victorian era, some Lyokoians were classified as Lady's and Lord's marrying into the upper society and even the monarchy. So it seems the idea of slave marriage is not unusual.

But the real question is whether or not our future needs to rely on it. We no longer have to rely on their powers. There are so many advancements in technology, science, and medicine. Some have the answer to that burning question. The Leader of L.F.D. or Lyokoians for Death believes in a simple answer "All Lyokoians should be killed and if one is born, kill it on the spot. That is the only surefire way of getting rid of the virus. Lyokoians powers are a threat to humanity and society. The collars are only a small way of dealing with the problem. What happens when the Lyokoians become too strong to handle them? What will you do then?" The organization's mission is to destroy Lyokoians via any means possible. Governments around the world fully support this organization, as it is believed that the XANA virus is a threat to human advancement.

What does this mean for us? For us humans, it is a minor bump in the road to success. As far as we know, the world is ever changing and who knows what the future might look like. There might be no virus or everyone might have the virus.

Now that makes sense. I should get more info later.

Aelita POV

"Aelita. Darling." Franz said

"Daddy. It is lovely to see you." I hugged him and mom.

"Come now, no need to hide her any longer." he said

I tugged on Violet's leash. She walked forward. She turned to me.

"Oh my, she looks broken already. Why not buy a fresher-looking one?" He said touching Violet's face and feeling her muscles. "I think she is better. She listens well and looks good in my opinion." I replied

In the background, Ulrich was hugging his parents and showing off Odd.

"Ulrich, please come over. I think my parents want to see him." I said pointing at Odd. Odd was grinning from ear to ear. "Princess. . .You look funny making that face. . ." Odd commented laughing. Ulrich and I both glared daggers at him. He stopped talking and looked down.

"What a strange slave, you got." said Anthea, rubbing her head.

"I think it's a disgrace. The nerve of Aelita and you to pick that one. It's hideous. Well, I can't say I agree with your decision. You are an adult, after all. But remember to make better choices in the future." Franz said, shaking his head.

Ulrich pulled Odd off to the side and started whispering to him. I stood with my father, who waited for a few more minutes. Someone from the wait staff directed us to our private table on the second floor of the restaurant. Odd and Aelita sat down underneath the table like a dog.

Odd was pouting when he sat on the floor. Dinner was normal. We ordered our food, had some drinks, and were mostly quiet.

"So, Ulrich. How has school been so far? I know it's only been a week, but. . ." asked Carole.

"Yes, I too would like to know. How are his grades so far?" asked Franz.

"Well, we've had one quiz and a few homework assignments so far. One teacher assigned us a presentation due next Friday and it's in groups." I said

Ulrich was silent. "Ulrich, why don't you speak a bit?" I said looking at him.

"Well, umm. . .they're ok." He said

"What is that supposed to mean? Are you failing again? After we told you, and all this. Ulrich, you need to get it together. Your poor grades reflect poorly not only on you but us as well. Do you want to tarnish our good name?" yelled Bruno

"Dad. That's not what I meant. . ." Ulrich pleaded

"No. Son. You will focus on your studies. I will take away your slave if you do not get your act together. I might send you to another school if things get out of hand. Franz and I discussed that if you continuously fail, then the marriage will happen soon. Whether or not you like it, the marriage and your grades will happen or else." said Bruno staring into his son's eyes.

I sat there stunned. The spoon I was holding clattered to the floor.

Bruno stood up saying "Thank you for the meal but my wife and I will be leaving. Please make sure my son does not try to run away."

"Of course replied." Franz.

The meal ended with Ulrich sulking and I wondering how to get in contact with Jeremie.

Thanks for reading. I will post chapters monthly if I can. Please review as it lets me know if you are enjoying the story.

-Moria signing out till next time.
