Chapter 3: The Escape
Kurt woke up tied tightly to a chair. His vision was obscured by the blurriness from his eyes still taking their time to wake up, like foggy breath on a bathroom mirror. He peered around the room slowly as the dizziness overtook his body. In front of him was a desk with the draw half-open. Inside, he could see files and paperwork scattered around like someone was too lazy to place anything neat. When he looked to his left, he spotted Blaine with his head bent down and his chest moving up and down slowly, evident that he was breathing, yet his eyes were closed.
"Blaine?" Kurt whispered. What time even is it? Thought Kurt. The sun was setting just outside the window, indicating that it was either sunrise or sunset. "Blaine? Wake up." And Blaine slowly started to lift his head, nearly letting it fall back down like a puppet when its strings are dropped.
"Kurt? Where are they?" Blaine asked, starting to panic.
"Who?"
"Wes and his stupid sidekick."
"I'm no stupid sidekick." Said David as he followed Wes into the room. "I'm just an amazing friend to the person who is sadistic enough to do this to you guys."
"Yes, well at least I didn't overdose on the chloroform..." Replied Wes.
"If I overdosed the chloroform, we'd be putting these two in a grave next to each other."
"Long as they keep the sex noises down, I don't think I'd mind…" Muttered Wes.
"Ladies, ladies, please keep the peace here. Can you please let us go now?" Blaine pleaded.
"Heavens no." Wes immediately replied. "I'm having way too much fun with this so I don't want to waste it." He smirked. "So, the only way you two are going to get out of this mess is to kiss each other. Or just get together. Either works just the same."
Kurt and Blaine we're stuck to the chair. Mentally and literally. There was a long pause, with a raised eyebrow from Wes, before anyone said anything.
"Follow my lead." Kurt mouthed to Blaine. Blaine was unsure about where this was going but guessed there wasn't much else he could do in this peculiar situation.
"We can't kiss if we're tied to the chair," Kurt said and Wes raised his eyebrow again.
"I suppose not. David, untie the prisoners at once." Wes said, playfully, in a British accent and David untied Blaine first. "Stop. We only need one untied." Wes said and David backed away from Kurt. Blaine was stood next to Kurt and he looked at him, worried.
"You want action don't you?" Kurt asked, peering past Blaine and Wes smirked in reply. "Well untie both of us and then we'll show you action." Kurt reasoned. Wes waited a few seconds before responding, deciding what to do.
"Very well," Wes said and nodded to David to untie Kurt. As soon as Kurt was free, he twisted his fingers around his wrists, which were sore from the rope rubbing against his skin.
"The last thing is…"
"Oh for goodness sake. It's not complicated to kiss is it?"
"And you know this…?" Blaine started to ask.
"Irrelevant," Wes said peering at David in the corner of his eye, who was smirking minutely. "Just get on with it."
"Okay, but can we change the angle first?" Kurt said and Wes rolled his eyes.
"Fine."
Kurt went to stand by the door, which was still left unlocked, and Blaine followed, understanding the plan now.
"Here goes…" Kurt said positioning himself in front of Blaine. He went to lean forward and Wes started to get excited…. But Kurt dashed for it. The next thing Wes and David knew was a door slamming shut as Kurt and Blaine escaped from captivity. However, Wes smiled.
"Perfect," Wes whispered.
"What in the actual hell was the point of all this if that was the plan all along?" David asked.
"Oh, no reason. It was just fun to see them panic about each other." Wes answered, still observing the shut door. David blankly stared at Wes as he shrugged in a small apology. "Anyway… we need to start step 4 of our plan: force them on a date." Wes smiled and he walked over to 'his' desk, pulling out his notepad of plans again. He started to tick off the next tasks, leaving the last two steps open.
Wes and David's Plan: Operation Klaine (OK)
Step 1: Kidnap Blaine without anyone seeing - Complete
Step 2: Kidnap Kurt without anyone seeing - Complete
Step 3: Communicate to them about getting together - Complete
Step 4: Force them on a date (Without them knowing)
Step 5: Watch the magic happen (Depending on how far it goes)
"Only two steps left. We're doing well, don't you think David?" Wes asked without bothering to turn to David for an answer. David was still stood on the spot, trying to come to terms with the past 3 hours.
"What was the point of that?" David asked again.
"Just to let them know that we want them to go out."
"And you couldn't have just done that normally? You know, like... ask them? Not kidnap them, threaten them, knock them out, carry them here and tie them to chairs."
"Oh my god David, think outside the box," Wes said, flailing his hands in the air for emphasis as he put the pen back down.
"Yes but thinking outside the box and breaking it are entirely different things!" David half-shouted.
"We haven't broken it… yet. Partially because it's already broken. When Blaine and Kurt get together, the box will be whole again."
"What is with this stupid metaphor? We're relating boxes to people… unbelievable…" David exasperated.
"Well, you started it," Wes said watching David begin to walk out the room.
"Irrelevant." Said David as he walked out the door.
Wes sat still for the next ten minutes, contemplating how he could force Kurt and Blaine on a date. He knew they'd both be at Dalton for the first week of the holidays due to other things going on in their lives, therefore, he had one-week maximum to come up with a plan. And he had just the perfect idea…
