Notes: Professor Sycamore will now be Prof. S unless someone is talking to him. Also, I've decided to make Naruto captain seeing that he's the strongest other than Sasuke. And because this is revised, I'm not going to include the old reviews.
Line break
The next morning with the Kalos Crew
Prof. Sycamore was not having a good morning. The weight of yesterday had returned full swing.
"I suppose it's time to get up. Diantha, you up?"
"Yeah. Give me a minute. These beds are quite comfortable. How are the kids?"
"Still out. Do we wait for them?"
"Yeah. Diantha?"
"Yeah?"
"Are you okay? I know the kid deserved it but we all felt that?"
She sighed.
"I'd be lying if I said yes. However, as powerful as they are, they won't act unless provoked. So as long as we behave, we'll be fine. And besides, they seem to like most of us. And Lord Hokage took an interest in us for some reason."
Prof. S sighed.
"Yeah. Although I thought he was going to be chewed out for that one."
"Me too. Anyway, I'm off to get breakfast. You coming?"
"Yeah. Just give me a minute."
"Okay."
Line break
With Synthia and co.
Synthia and Rowan woke up at about the same time. And they were not happy. Yesterday, Paul came very close to doing something the evite region might pay for.
"Hey Professor?"
"Yes Synthia?"
"What should we do with him?"
"Send him back before he causes any more problems."
"I agree but we can't do that. Lock him in maybe?"
"Sure but who will keep him?"
"I'll ask one of the kages if they can lend me some guards."
Prof. Rowan nodded.
"I'm about to get breakfast. You coming?"
"Yes."
Line break
With Kakashi
Kakashi was peacefully reading his porn when he heard a knock on the door. It was 8 AM. Who on earth was up other than the ninjas?
"Who is it?"
"It's me. Synthia. May I please speak to you."
'What could she want at this hour?'
"Yes, you way. Please come in."
Synthia opened the door and sat down on a couch that was surprisingly comfortable.
'Only the best for a kage. Can't say I don't relate.'
"What did you want to talk about?"
Synthia steeled her nerves. This could either go really well or really bad.
"Lord Hokage. I would like to borrow some of those masked guys to keep a certain moron in his room."
Kakashi was surprised. While it wasn't uncommon for ANBU to guard someone's room, it usually wasn't to keep them in it. Also, since when do forien leaders ask for your special forces? That was a new one for him.
"You mean the ANBU? Yes, but, if Paul attacks them, they will respond in kind. He'll live and make a full recovery. Although he'll be out for a few days."
Synthia didn't mind that condition.
'On second thought, please do so that maybe you can learn some humility.'
"Fox, Wolf! Guard room 203. Paul is in there and he needs to stay there. If he attacks you, send him flying."
"Yes sir!"
"Thank you Lord Hokage."
"You're welcome Lady Synthia. Is there anything else?"
"No there isn't."
"In that case, enjoy your stay."
Line break
Cafeteria
Everyone seemed to be enjoying their meal. The ninja were either chatting or eating silently. The ANBU were silently watching over everyone. And the higher ups were being respectful. And a female trainer from Jhoto was feeling nervous. She liked meeting new people but 75% of these guys didn't seem like they wanted to talk. And she had to ask Red for permission, So she was content with glancing at them every so often. If they noticed, she didn't know.
"Holly?"
"Yes Lord Red?"
Red sighed.
"Okay. 1, don't call me Lord Red. Just Red please. And 2, what's wrong. You keep looking at those guys in green vests at table 10? I won't stop you if you want to talk to them."
"I'm sorry. I'm just nervous because I don't know if they'll like some random, 12 year-old girl like me. And most of those guys look like they're twice my age."
She finished in a whisper. Red smirked.
"Well you won't know until you try."
Red pushed her and she stumbled into one of chunin.
"Can I help you?"
The chunin wasn't offended. He'd seen and done far worse to be offended by someone causing a little accident where no one got hurt.
"Y-yes. I was wondering if I could sit with you guys."
She went from nervous to terrified.
"Why of course. What is your name?"
"Anna."
"My name's Sanosuke Sagara. Come sit down."
He looked at his comrades.
"So move, you lazy bums."
Little did she know that would be the start of a great friendship.
After breakfast with Red and co.
"Well Anna? How'd it go?"
She smiled brightly.
"It went really well. Everyone treated me like I was one of them. Unfortunately, some girl in a mask had to talk to them. "
'ANBU? That can't be a coincidence.'
"I'm glad you made a friend. Well, let's go see what else this place has to offer."
She nodded.
Meanwhile with Fox and Wolf
Once Paul had woken up he'd been pissed. They left without him.
"It better not be too late."
Paul walked to the door and when he opened it, found two ANBU blocking his way.
"Let me through! Now!"
Naruto aka Fox responded.
"I'm afraid I can't do that. Go sit back down and wait,"
"No I won't."
Paul tried to deploy a pokemon but Naruto was too fast and sent him flying into the western wall knocked out.
"That should do it."
After breakfast when Synthia gets back
"Hello Fox, Wolf. How is Paul."
"See for yourself mam."
Cynrhia walked in to see Paul unconscious and embedded in a wall.
"Can't say I'm surprised. We'll be leaving early because I have things to do back in Sinnoh. Thank you very much. It was a nice change of pace."
"You're welcome mam."
Naruto aka Fox said emotionlessly.
'ANBU. I wonder just how much he can take before he breaks. If he hasn't already.'
Line break
With Diantha and Kakashi.
"Lady Diantha?"
"Yes Lord Hokage?"
Kakashi sighed. What he was about to ask was not easy.
"Officially, I want to send a team of ANBU to watch that Ash kid."
Diantha narrowed her eyes.
"And unofficially?"
"See if traveling with the young and naive will warm their cold hearts."
Diantha was very intrigued but at the same time, afraid. After everyone heard about the incident with Paul, people learned that ANBU = shit happened.
"May I ask what you mean?"
"Officially, it would be to protect him so he doesn't die doing something stupid. I've read the reports and though I admire his courage, he's not the brightest. Unofficially, I want that naive, happy-go-lucky, never-give-up, attitude to rub off on them. All they know is war so I think it's time they learn what peace is like."
Diantha thought for a moment.
'This is a good opportunity to keep one the world's best trainers alive. Also, I cannot ignore a plea for help.'
"I accept. Who will be guarding him?"
"I won't give their real identities but their code names are Fox, Wolf, Dog, Turtle, and Slug. The best of the best."
She sighed.
"Anything special I should know?"
"Everyone but Turtle and Slug will kill first, ask questions later. Also, tell those trainers to never go near him in the middle of the night. The Elemental Nations has lost many good assassins to him and I promise you, those kids have no chance of survival."
"I see. Thank you for telling me."
"You're welcome Lady Diantha. I will be off now."
Line break
Three days later with Kalos Crew
Diantha was the first to address the room they were in.
"Is everyone ready?"
Everyone nodded.
"Sadly, they ran out of room on the luxury planes and that was all they had so we'll be hitching a ride on one of their transport boats."
Clemont groaned.
"Aw man. Those seats were so nice."
Sycamore interrupted.
"We'll live. Let's go before they leave without us."
At the harbor
Sycamore looked on in confusion. There were 5 ANBU standing in front of them and that was usually never good.
'What the hell are ANBU doing here?! This better be good.'
Daintha explained.
"So you're guards the Lord Hokage sent us."
This surprised the Kalos Crew. They had a champion and a professor on their side. What on earth could possibly be stronger than all 4 of them? Naruto responds.
"Yes we are. We will be leaving now. Please enjoy the ride.
Serena, though interested, was a little scared. Because again, ANBU = shit happened. So she didn't ask any questions. However Ash, having no concept of manners, asked,
"Who are you guys?"
Sasuke responded.
"We are ANBU Team Ro. Led by Captain Fox, the blonde one, the one gray hair is Dog, the girl with pink hair is Slug, the blue haired one is Turtle, and I am Wolf. We have been tasked with guarding you on your journey through the Kalos Region. We will guard you with our lives."
Ash shivered.
'What could have happened to have a voice like that?.'
Prof. S interrupted before things went to hell.
"Okay let's get going. Fox, will you please start the boat?"
He nodded and started the motor.
"Might want to get comfortable. It's a 5 hour ride."
Only Ash verbally groaned.
Kami help these kids. They wouldn't make it past their first C-rank.' Thought Sakura.
5 hours later.
ANBU Team Ro was not having a good day. They Were tasked with a long term mission of guarding some brats that couldn't find the ass end of a fireball. Calling their charges stupid was a bit much. Horribly naive was more like them emotionless might have been a bit much. Traumatized, broken, worn, tired, bad case of PTSD? Most likely.
"We're here. Give us a minute to get you a visitor's pass. Even as political entities, you're not exactly welcome here. Now follow Wolf to the waiting room and do NOT wander off. There are areas in this place where we can legally kill you for entering."
They shivered.
'What are these people?'
With Naruto aka Fox
Naruto walked up to the front desk and presented his ANBU code name and ninja ID quietly so no one could hear.
"I need 4 visitor's passes. My team and I are doing escort duty and we ran into some bad luck."
"Names please."
"Anthony Sycamore, Ash Ketchum, Serena Yvonne, Clemont, and Daintha."
The chunin gave him the name tags and Naruto and he returned to the group.
Meanwhile
Though everyone was curious about ninja abilities, Ash was the only one brave and headstrong enough to ask.
"Hey, guys? What kind of abilities do you guys have?"
Dog responded to him. He was the people person of the squad after all.
"Well, before I answer that, how many ninja do you see?"
"Uh 16? Why?"
"Now blink."
Ash blinked and they all vanished.
"COOL! HOW DO YOU-"
One of them came out and punched him in the face.
"Be quiet. You're not welcome here."
Suddenly, all the other ninja appeared, armed and ready. The Kalos Crew tensed. They couldn't attempt to send out their pokemon or they'd be killed before they knew what was happening. Thankfully, Naruto saved them.
"Jonin! That was uncalled for!"
"But sir-"
Naruto cut him with KI.
"Got something to say? Jonin. Back to your duties, all of you! You guys okay?"
They nodded in relief.
"Good put these on and follow us."
The Kalos Crew did as they were told.
In the "friendly" part of the base
Dog was taking the lead for the socialization. For being the son of the infamously antisocial copy ninja, he is a surprisingly nice guy. The Kalos Crew walked out of a door that said AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY. Thankfully, only the ninja noticed but didn't say anything. They were surrounded by ANBU. Even seasoned Jonin had second thoughts about trying anything with a squad and a half of ANBU around.
"Hey Dog? What's that over there?"
"Oh that? That's a tour that we give to show off our basic history and culture and a little bit of what we do. Fun fact. Most jonin are able to get a bachelor's degree in physics simply because we use it so much in combat."
Clemont got excited. As a scientist, physics played an important role.
"Interesting. Can you give me an example?"
"Sure. I'll start with something basic. If I threw this kunai at that wall 30 feet away from us, butt first, at 15 miles per hour, how long would it take the kunai to hit that wall? Bonus points if you give the number of foot pounds."
Clemont tried to do that. That was some hard stuff. He understood the question but this kind of math was out of his league. So he gave up after a few minutes.
"I'm sorry that's a bit much for me. In our world, that's not something you learn for a while."
Dog thought for a moment.
'Either my standards are too high or their standards are too low.'
"That's fine. I'll give you credit for trying. Now, would all like the tour that starts in 5 minutes or do you want to go home?"
They looked at each other but the other ANBU said nothing. Diantha thought it might be a good idea.
"Sure. Why not?"
They all thanked him.
"Well then today's your lucky day. You and 6 other people will be getting a tour led by ANBU."
In the lobby
A chunin was about to address the other 6 people who showed up for the tour. Talk about luck.
"Is everyone ready? Oh? ANBU? What are you doing here?"
"Chunin. ANBU will be leading this one. You're not in any trouble I assure you. Think of it as a little break."
He nodded and left.
"Now then. Follow me."
Dog led them through the various rooms that had things like what tools they used and how the villages were founded and who their kages were and major figures around the ninja world. One room however, was a memorial for all those who died in all the ninja wars.
"The room we are about to enter is a memorial for all who have fallen in the name of the Hidden Leaf so I ask you to be silent and show respect to those in there. And be warned. There are some photos some of you may or may not find traumatizing."
Because that totally didn't scare the crap out of everyone but Prof. S and Diantha. They walked into the room and were amazed at how large it was and how many people were on the walls.
"50,000 ninjas of the Hidden Leaf have died since its creation. Some died on missions, accidents, assassinations, war time, the list goes on. I hope you're paying attention champion because this is what 200 years of either constant proxy/shadow warfare or all out war does to people. I suggest taking photos so you can remember what you have seen."
Said Naruto. He was having flashbacks and it was not a fun experience, And as soon as he said that, everyone started to take photos of all the names.
"Learn from this. Try to resolve conflict through peace instead of war. Take it from a person who's from a land that has places where the environment is literally stained red from the blood of men, wemon, and children who were sent to the battlefield."
It was deathly silent until a brave trainer asked a question in a low whisper.
"Like what...?"
"There was a battle during the 3rd Shinobi World War where our 4th Hokage used a jutsu that allowed him to teleport around the battlefield using special markers he put on kunai. He and his team of 3 here outnumbered 100:1 against the Hidden Stone. So in a last-ditch effort, he threw hundreds of those special kunai at them and seconds after they landed he began teleporting around the battlefield. It was in a damaged area of Fire Country and you know what it's environment is. He killed all of them in under 10 seconds and was made 4th Hokage when the war ended.
Even to his day, vegetation will not return. Some say that place is cursed. And as an ANBU, I shouldn believe in curses. But for once, I will. Some say the ghosts of the fallen ninja still haunt the battlefield. Learn from this. You trainers have only had one war with what we call low casualties. Be thankful. The tour is now over. Go home and hug your family or give them a call."
They nodded and left except for the Kalos Crew who stayed behind. Serena was on the verge of tears. Where she grew up, there weren't a lot of harchips, and when there was, it wasn't that bad. These people...these people walked through the bowels of hell and didn't always come back in one piece or alive for that matter.
"I'm sorry to rush you guys but can we go now? I don't know how much of this I can take."
No one said anything but they left nonetheless and headed back to the lab. Thank Kami they were in Lumiose City.
Line break
With Bonnie and Soffie.
Soffie was very nervous. The professor filled her in on what happened and quite frankly, she was scared shitless. Not of the ninja, but for the kids. They're only 18. She didn't learn about the darker side of the world until she was 25. And even then, their wars made the pokewars look like water balloon fights gone wrong. They would be here soon. But in what mental condition?
When they arrive
"We're here. I have some business to take care of in the city so I'll be off. And don't tell Bonnie. She won't know how to take it and will never recover." Said Diantha.
The rest nodded and entered the lab where Bonnie was waiting.
"Hey Bonnie! How are you?"
"I'm doing great! There are lots of cute pokemon!"
Everyone smiled at this. It was nice to get away from the gloom and doom. Or at least, the Kalos Crew and Dog smiled.
"Tell me all about your adventure! Please? I have to know what happened."
The Kalos Crew frowned at this. Ash didn't have the heart to tell a little kid about all the traumatizing things they saw and heard. So for once in his life, he lied.
"I'm sorry Bonnie but I can't tell you much. All I can tell you is how the meeting went and nothing else. The rest is all classified."
"Aww man. Well, how'd it go?!"
"Hey Clemont? You mind taking over for me?"
"Sure Ash. Anyway, we got to fly on a luxury 1st class plane to what used to be the Orre Region. After a night in the very nice hotel we attended what the 4 kages called a summit. The kages are the ones who lead a hidden village in the Elemental Nations. You'll learn more when you become a trainer. So anyway, I didn't really pay attention after they finished introducing themselves. After a while, the Hokage, that means Fire Shadow in their second native language, asked all the trainers to introduce themselves. Unfortunately, some kid named Paul made a disrespectful comment and was reminded that we were on their land and needed to follow their rules. And most importantly, keep our mouths shut.
"The Hokage's name is Kakashi Hatake and he seemed to like us. He even asked us to introduce ourselves. Right Serena?"
"Yup. He was impressed too. Because the Raikage called Paul a disappointment."
Ash put in his 2 cents.
"Same here. Although when I said I was from the Kanto region I thought he was going to grill me. Turns out it was just a test when the Kanto champion Red called him on it. And that's good because even I'm not brave enough to try that."
"Wow! That must have been fun and scary. What kind of pokemon did they have?"
Clemont sighed.
"Actually, this was the first time they interacted with pokemon. On their side of the world, pokemon don't exist."
That was a ½ truth. The first time they interacted with pokemon was during the invasion but she didn't need to know that.
"And don't ask how that's possible, because I don't know. They wouldn't tell me. Oh well. We'll be leaving for Ash's first gym badge tomorrow."
"Yay!"

And that is all for chapter 3. What do you think? Remember to write a review because it really helps.
