Adam and Kim entered the house, looking for the two men who had entered minutes before. The ground floor was clean, but noise was heard from the floor above. They started up the stairs, and suddenly, they started getting shot.
"50-21 George, we need immediate reinforcements, attackers are shooting at the police, we need reinforcements." - Kim yelled into her radio, while she covered herself with a wall.
"Cover me, I'm going to advance to the bedroom. They are in the back bedroom. " Adam whispered to Kim, as he advanced silently.
From one moment to the next, the shooting stopped, and reinforcements arrived. Moving into the back bedroom, the door was closed and the two men who had shot Adam and Kim could be heard talking. But they weren't speaking English; Adam thought it was an Arabic language. It was probably Pashto, the language Abdel's sign was written in. Suddenly, two shots rang out and what sounded like the sound of two heavy objects falling.
"Atwater knock down that door, Halstead and Ruzek come in." - Voight ordered with his deep, raspy voice.
Kevin kicked in the door, Jay and Adam entered the bedroom and found the bodies of the two men. They had shot themselves and it looked like they were trying to destroy some papers.
"Sergeant, we have two bodies. They are the…. They are the men we saw enter. " Adam said to Voight with a tone of relief, but also of concern.
"It looks like they were trying to destroy something. They were grinding this up. " - Jay explained to Adam while he collected some papers that were not shredded.
"What have you got there Halstead? - Kevin asked Jay, as he approached to see what the role that Jay had in his hands was about.
Jay started to look at the paper in his hands, and his face turned pale with concern. As if that role had brought him some unpleasant memory. They all noted the detective's concern.
"Jay, are you okay? What is it? - Hailey asked Jay, in her tone you could tell that she was worried about her partner.
"We have a problem." Jay answered out loud so everyone could hear.
