During the return to Mother Base, D told Venom.

"Boss, we need to get ready. The next mission is decisive. We will get Quiet."

Venom nodded and D started sleeping on the helicopter's bench.

Despite the fact that he was sleeping, his mind was continuing to plan every step and every unexpected events that could happen. He could not afford any for room for error.

He pressed it.

A baloon came from this weird gadget.

The balloon was white with the words "I Love U" written on the front.

Quiet was quite perplexed to see that on a battlefield.

Venom couldn't see the "message" of the balloon from his angle but agreed that the decoy idea was a smart move.

Venom and D continued, while the latter was getting closer to his target.

D aimed with his scope but Quiet was nowhere to be seen.

D barely noticed the glint from the sniper's scope and just crounched just in time for avoiding the bullet in his face.

But the bullet just hit the helmet.

D took his helmet off and checked his head.

A small scratch was bleeding on the upper part, hidden by the short hairs.

Next time, he wouldn't be so lucky. The shot would be lethal.

D was stunned but quickly regain control and searched his rifle.

He sweared silently because he lost it.

He took the Mk. 2 for his holster.

The helo came for the extraction, and D put Quiet on the chopper.

D sat on the bench on the opposite side of Quiet.

He took off his chest armor revealing a black t-shirt.
