The sun was showing off.
Bright rays of light flooded the classroom, too bright. The sky was a pretty blue, cloudless, it could be considered a perfect day.
The issue was that they were stuck in their seats. Simply, the weather is a tease, taunting the students to come outside instead of being stuck in their chairs. Even more so due to there being less than an hour left in school.
"Murasakibara".
The first year turned towards the voice to see the teacher, or more accurately, the substitute. Even though the substitute was standing compared to his sitting form, he only had to look up a couple inches. She was short, even more so when compared to him.
"Hmm", he answered carelessly, a giant hand reaching back inside a pocky box.
"Food is prohibited during class hours. Hand it over" she demanded.
Slightly irritated, the student handed over his previous snack. There were only three sticks left.
Purple eyes glared for a moment at the woman, before pulling out a bag of candy.
Stupid head.
Murasakibara was much more careful to use discretion. He glanced around the classroom, taking note for the first time that his green haired string mate was also in his class.
"You'll get caught," he warned, eyes not leaving the teacher.
Murasakibara looked over at the shooting guard with slight surprise. He didn't think the boy would say anything. Still, he couldn't not try to eat his snacks.
Murasakibara hated hunger, and it happened to him more than most. Receiving an awful aching feeling in his stomach wasn't a choice he'd make. It was also the reason he ignored his teammates' warning.
His gaze darted to the front of the classroom, waiting until the exact moment the teacher turned around.
Now.
Swiftly and with haste he grabbed three pieces of candy at once and placed it inside his mouth.
The chewy packages burst in his mouth. Artificial fruit or not it still tasted good. It left a lingering taste on his tongue that he couldn't say he disliked. After chewing as quietly as he could, he swallowed. Earlier caution now disregarded, he continued eating.
Only to be caught minutes later.
"I'll be taking this", the teacher grabbed the bag after it became clear Murasakibara would not be handing it over willingly considering it was his every last editable item.
"You can get your snacks after class" she stated.
This time Murasakibara didn't even wait til she wasn't looking to send dark looks. They only increased as the substitute continued talking about class work.
He caught the substitute's eye.
I'll crush you.
The adult turned back towards the board quickly.
Murasakibara half stood up only for his arm to be tugged at roughly.
"Sit down Baka" Midorima hissed.
Murasakibara hesitantly obeyed but continued giving death stares towards the woman.
The phone rang and the substitute seemed oddly grateful as she walked over to answer it.
"Hello, how may I help you " she stammered taking a quick glance over to where the giant sat. His attention hadn't wavered. Normally she'd be fine with such focus, but he stared at her like she was a bug to be smashed.
"Well class I'll be back before the bell rings, please continue analyzing the poem" she stated and quickly and rushed out, anxious to no longer feel like a pest to be removed.
Now that his eyes were no longer focused on drilling into the woman's skull, his attention wandered. Soon his eyes would return to their normal lazy look.
However hunger would come calling.
I wish I still had my snacks.
His stomach growled. Beside him Midorima gave him a wide eyed look at the sound before returning back to analyzing the poem.
I shouldn't have let her take my snacks.
A dark cloud weighed over Murasakibara as he mourned the loss of his food. A frown later across his normally expressionless face.
Less than ten minutes later his stomach would growl again, even louder. A few classmates looked back at him, only to reface the front at the sight of the moping giant. Purple hair curtained around his face and held his stomach as hunger pains began to hit him.
Snacks didn't last long.
A box was launched onto his desk and slid perfectly to a stop in the middle.
POCKEY.
The very same type of snack that had been unjustly stolen from him!
Murasakibara wasted no time opening the box to start devouring the strawberry coated treat.
It was mesmerizing.
An entire stick, one by one they vanished inside his mouth. The only evidence that he was eating them was the steady rhythm of his crunching. Murasakibara never paused or hesitated, only fluid movements as he demolished each morsel. No speck or crumble was allowed to escape.
Only when the package was empty did he address the contributor.
"Thanks Mido-chin", his gaze held a strange heaviness to it.
"Your stomach is too loud", he grumbled giving the taller boy a quick glance before focusing on his paper.
"It was disturbing the class, that's all" he claimed but a slight blush lay over the boy's cheeks.
Tsundre-chin.
Authors note: part one, missing an important part to be counted as the full one shot of midorima which is showing murasakibara cares in some protective way... I'm working on it.
