"We have an update? Eyes on the suspect or better yet the hostages? Anything?" Maggie pressed popping open the trunk of her cruiser to pull out her vest. Kate gives a low defeated sigh as she rests her hip against the back bumper simply watching her.
"You don't need to be here Sawyer." She reminds already knowing as she says it the other woman wasn't about to listen to her.
"The hell I don't." Maggie snaps adjusting the Velcroed straps around her middle. "You heard who they have-."
"I also know that Supergirl can handle herself." Kate Kane reminds resting a comforting hand against the other woman's trembling arm. "Alex can too." She adds in a lower tone.
"It's not just them—call says they are holding an expecting mother as well." the worked-up cop reminds slamming the back of her car closed harder than needed. "Olsen give you any more details in her statement?" Maggie questioned checking the clip on her weapon before replacing it at her hip.
Kate shakes her head. "Only that we should treat this as an officer as a hostage satiation." She admits once again wishing she'd picked some other day to abstain from all things vigilante.
"You don't trust her." it wasn't entirely a question.
"And here I thought I've seen everything in this post red waved world of ours."
Kate's jaw dropped only a fraction as her eyes snapped over Maggie's shoulder toward the owner of the new tone.
"DEO special taskforce. We'll take it from here."
"This isn't your jurisdiction." Maggie snarled rounding on the newcomer before she could say anything more, but her next heated words stall in her throat when she sees just who it was trying to butt into her active situation.
True she had initially taken to making sure the Danvers sisters of her world had made it over into this newer stranger one after J'onn had stopped by offering to unlock her memories of her first home of Earth 38 but J'onn had chosen to keep her in the dark so as to keep her brain from bursting as she struggled to sort out old memory from the new of the latest crisis.
J'onn had assured her they were safe and that had been enough for her.
"I think you'll find we are considering the hostiles in play here came from our version of Earth." The suddenly dark-haired Kara argues while her more blonde-haired sister chuckles under her breath.
"Claws in KBrook." Alex suggests resting a hand against the new Kara's shoulder. "Remember we all need to share if this new home of ours is ever going to run as smooth it did before that red wave dropped us here."
"Don't call me that." Dark-haired Kara grumbles "Honestly, in everything your swiss cheese brain remembers about our Earth that, the fact we're sisters and your own name is what sticks?
"Among a few other things yes. Those are what are important to me hints why I remember them." Blonde-haired Alex nodes before turning her attention back to the two stunned women waiting by the police car her hand outstretched in greeting. "Lexie Danvers Earth 203 and this hot head is my kid sister you can call her Brookie."
"I'm not using that dumb nickname; my name is Kara."
"Okay, we can argue over what to call who after we disable this very real hostile situation alright?" Maggie jumps in spotting hurried movement beyond the barrier set up around the mostly emptied coffee shop.
"KBrook go round back but keep out of sight until you know for sure, Mags you and me we're going in the front prove cover. Those sons a jackals are bound to be packing kryptonite now they know who they are up against so she'll be needing some kind of backup." Lexie straggliest already entwining her fingers with Maggie's free hand pulling her along as she set off toward the half-circle of police cars blocking the entrance.
Green smoke filled the room making it harder to see as Alex rammed her shoulder into the crumbling wall Kara had started knocking down for her making the thing buckle under her weight whilst Kara crumpled coughing violently at the same time the only door in the room was kicked open.
"Get Jamie out of here." Maggie orders looking nothing like a woman who'd so recently given birth already reaching for the weapon Alex had forgotten was at her hip. "You save mine. I'll take care of yours." She bargained her free hand cupping Alex's chin when she started to protest.
"Ride or Die remember?" she whispered pressing a light kiss against Alex's forehead then another's too little Jamie's "Go. I've got her." She coaxed firing a few warning rounds at the oncoming pair now struggling past the icy barrier still left between them.
Casting one last guilty look toward a still struggling Kara how was also gesturing rather adamantly toward the hole they'd made in the wall between coughing fits Alex nodes redoubling her grip on the quiet newborn before running headlong down the passageway. A forgotten bootlegger's tunnel Kara had found "L—Lexie?" Maggie gaped hidden in the wall.
Maggie making quick work of sealing up the tunnel behind them with another well-placed shot from Alex's prized alien weapon.
"Looks like it's you and me Jamie girl." Alex says pulling up her flashlight on her phone. The newborn offering a very Maggie-worthy grin when Alex's chin dropped to look at her. "Let's just hope it's not on any city plans."
It's the warning whistle that catches her attention just as two silhouetted bodies move into Maggie's limited view the move just enough to get the pair bearing down on them to turn only to be taken down by four well-placed shots to the kneecaps.
One goes directly to the sickly hero's free side taking on the brunt of her extra weight while Maggie herself was pulled tightly into a hug by the second officer through the door.
"Trust you to get caught up in something like this." A familiar tone purred against her ear.
"L—Lexie?" Maggie gaped. The grip around her shoulders tightened at the question while the Kara in blue and red was being helped out into more kryptonite free air by her ex's partner. "Since when do you have a partner?"
"Since you, dummy." Lexie laughed still nuzzling her face against the crook of Maggie's shoulder. "Now let's get you out of here."
